This one was definitely better again and felt like the first volume, just not that much as we were still in the 'battle arc'. But we got some backstory and I was baffled. Couldn't imagine literally selling my own flesh and blood just for some money. Yes the father was desperate, but STILL. Good to know that some dark themes came back in this volume and that we also got our female character back! Yay, everyone cheer for Macalo!
Also, the scene where Ivan accidently touched a rat was a moment I would have thrown the book if I would have had it physically. Man, even a spider could crawl up my neck and I wouldn't scream just for the sake of it!
But my favourite scene was the end scene of chapter 11, where Ruwanda seemed to cry and decided not to kill Mei. It was so out of pocket and Ruwanda gave us a new spotlight into his personality I just couldn't but love it. Not sure if I really liked that side of his’, but it was definitely interesting to see.

The story goes from plot point to plot point and it's fascinating. I like fast-paced stories, however the challenge is managing to tie and resolve all of the plot points and questions before the end of the story.
