Anna Sullivan has just found out that she has another sister…
And the news is rocking her world. As she tries to come to grips with her mother’s infidelity and the knowledge that Pop wasn’t her biological father, she loses sight of the fact that there is another person in this equation. Her half-sister, Nikki, who didn’t ask for any of this either. But seeing her is just another reminder that Anna’s whole life is a lie...
Nikki Merrill has been in Bluebird Bay for months, hoping to fill in the piece of the puzzle that has been missing all these years. She wants to be patient, but it seems like the dream of having the relationship with Anna she so desperately wants is just getting further and further away. If it wasn’t for her job at the diner and her new, handsome handyman, she’d be totally miserable. But when a series of disturbing events dredge up memories of the past, she wonders if her visit to Bluebird Bay might’ve been the biggest mistake of her life.

I have been thinking a lot about how to write this review. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline, and I have read all 6 in this series. I am sure I will read #7 when it comes out in May. But...here is my issue...the editing of this book. I had only read a quarter of the book and found 4 blatant grammatical errors. As I read on, I would then find a block of writing with the word “amazing” mentioned 3 times within 5 sentences. Then I found the word “really” the same way. The writing needed an editing boost and the words her, she, I, and me need to be used correctly. I hope the May 26th book of this series will be better.
This story focused on Anna and her newly found half-sister, Nikki. It was one of the best in the series so far! I couldn’t put it down. Full of emotions for Anna and Nikki coming to terms with each other and what that means for their families, but it was also an action packed side story too! I loved the ending and where this series is going and new changes too! I just cannot wait for more in this Bluebird Bay world!!
Christine Gael takes you through an incredible journey in this latest addition of Bluebird Bay. This book has such incredible family bonds that are battle tested and events that are so realistic you will find yourself holding your breath and waiting for your next heartbeat right along with the characters. Gael never fails to carry you to places you’ve not dreamed of with results that will forever change the way you imagine some settings. All this is done with strong morals and values. I absolutely recommend the entire series.
Finding Acceptance is the 6th powerful story in the Bluebird Bay series written by Denise Grover Swank and Christine Gael. After a scare in the pregnancy of Sasha Sullivan the family has come together in full force to lift her burdens. Anna who has recently discovered she has a sister as the result of an affair her mother had, grapples with her feelings toward Nikki. Slowly getting aquatinted Anna arrives at Nikki's Bigalow just in time to save her life. Still left unresolved is what Cee Cee's ex-husband is up to. He is acting very strange and making up stories. Cee Cee is determined to get to the bottom of his scheme. At the conclusion and an added cliff hanger Nikki's daughter arrived unannounced and demands to know who her Aunt Anna is. The next book continues with more of Anna's story and how she deals with her new set of family. The authors have done an excellent job winding all the lives of the Sullivan sisters together. The characters are very likeable and well developed. This is a great series filled with family, live, second chances at love for many, and healing.
I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response and all opinions are my own. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others.
Easy read. Still find the characters compelling. I am finding in these last two books the reactions of the main characters are a little over the top for mature, strong 50 something women.
Anna’s reaction to finding out her father was not who she thought he was, and that she had a half sister she didn’t know about was over the top. I can see bring shocked and depressed about the lie, but for months? None of the characters seem that imbalanced, and all have tons of life experience. Especially someone who is a world traveler with much cultural experienced should have been that thrown.
I have little patience for exaggerated drama, and if these story lines keep up, I might have to reconsider my reading list. It’s so frustrating for me to watch these mature, seasoned women act like that!
The story line of Nickie and her abusive spouse would have provided a much more realistic story line for the amount of drama, but that was just a sub plot.

WOW first things first. This was way to short ~ a pure tease. I love getting back to Bluebird Bay and these all too familiar characters. I actually held on to this for several weeks as I knew I would not be able to put it down and had not another to look forward to for a while. That said, I devoured it and feel cheated as I want more. Outstanding character development yet again. Intriguing plot twists and surprises that keep you flipping pages unable to see what is happening. Descriptive, compelling, mesmerizing scenes and dialogue. Makes you just want to move to the coast, get a cupcake, go to the diner and run on the beach. I absolutely love these stories and cannot wait for the next release. Please give us more content. No more teasing!!!
I fell in love with this series when I read the previous book (it was my first visit to Bluebird Bay) and, just like the first time, I was reminded how good these book feel.
Be it the whole situation between Nikki and Anna, or Nikki’s story, or everyone else’s, you can’t help bit feel at home, love the characters and want to encourage them in everything they do.
Anna and Nikki are sisters who have just learned about each other. Anna wants nothing to do with Nikki, while Nikki is looking to make a connection with the sister she never knew. Can they find a way to let the anger and hurt go? Beautiful story of the power of love and hope.
Wow! Talk about having to rethink your whole place in your family when someone has shown up claiming to be your sister and not the rest of your siblings sister!! Follow along as Anna & Nikki find their way around each other and their relationship and see if they can become sisters in more than just blood.
Acceptance comes in many different ways. Slowly everyone is adapting to the new family dynamics. Some are more accepting than others. Add in a little suspense and you get a great family saga. I can't wait for #7.
Happy to visit Bluebird Bay again! What an addition to the family saga story! Suspense emotional and action both! Not for everyone acceptance is an easy task when your life is suddenly turned upside down and everything you believed was truly yours became a lie? Loved how Anna grew towards Nikki, her newly found half-sister making slow tiny steps until past rushes in and there's a Nikki's life being threatened. We get to know more about Nikki as well as about our beloved Sullivan sisters and other friends in Bluebird Bay. Such a delight to read this well written book and now I can't wait for the next installment in this beautiful extended family story in which we're already hooked for!
The story continues its about the Sullivan sisters and their extended family. Stephanie's son drops out of college. Anna's half sister reached out to her sister. Her sister is hunted down by an assassin who is out to murder her.
I am really stepping out of my comfort zone with this series but I am finding it very refreshing. Loving the dynamics between Anna and Nikki and the other sisters. Can't wait to read the next one.
If you’re looking for love, romance, drama, and suspense you have to read this whole series of books! Just when you think you know what is going to happen next, you’re wrong! I am loving this author.
I continue to enjoy the development of the family members and journeys that each member travels separately and together. The underlying tension of potential danger woven into this story kept me reading to the end.
Loved all the stories from Bluebird Bay! Not a single one stands out, they just flow easily into each other. I’m recommending them to my sister to read. True human characters with real feelings.
I enjoyed reading this book. The characters are engaging and amazing the connection is undeniable throughout the pages. The storyline flowed easily throughout the pages. A must read!
