Tom Sisto has been adhering to Detective Caden’s wishes, contributing as a member of the experimental task force she proposed and Mayor Maitland implemented. Detective Bell has picked up the burden of running the unit along with a ragtag group of people, specifically chosen for their talents. Months after the bloodbath Sisto narrowly survived, his team has been handed down a new assignment.
Andrick Wesley is a man that has no reservations about killing. He has spent the better part of his life chasing an impossible high. Year after year, the weight of having to restrain himself becomes seemingly impossible. He feels each day becoming harder to contain the rage.
Sisto and his team track a lead to an annual charity event, and it is decided that Sisto can once again prove himself, this time going undercover. With the clock ticking down and no time to spare, Sisto must break out every tool, every training tactic, and every movie & television show he had learned from over the years, to go up against a nemesis like no other.
With his psychic gift, The Reels, along with a team to back him up, Tom Sisto will attempt to deliver justice. Andrick Wesley will take his decades of pent-up aggression to deliver as many to their deaths as he can. Nothing is set in stone, nothing can prepare Sisto for what is to come, not even with his second sight riding shotgun.
Holy cow! This is a crazy year and darker! This is one scary character(Andrick) that they are chasing down! And it’s darker than dark! Crazy twist ant turns! Love the character Sisto!
Another great work by Brian B. Ewing! Nomad: A Story From The Reels is a compelling, character-driven Urban Thriller that’s a must-read. Ewing’s writing is clever in its complexity, but he makes sure that sophistication is digestible; it isn’t necessary to reread scenes to figure out what’s going on or who said what. This book has so much to offer: biker culture, undercover police work, allies and adversaries, including a cunning, calculating serial killer, and an independently wealthy, newbie police officer with a psychic gift. If you’re looking for a story with grit, suspense, blood, and tension, this is the novel for you!
Follow Tom Sisto as he navigates down the next dark path his job takes him. A string of murders pushes Sisto to uncomfortable levels, as he attempts to strengthen his personal life. The calculated deaths hold a level of precision to them and the visions hold nothing but a cold desire from a man losing his grasp on restraint. Join the ride as Sisto goes undercover for the first time in hope of stopping the brutal cross-country killings and try to avoid becoming a victim in the process.
A real page turner! As much as I loved Oracle (the first book), Nomad was even more entertaining and thrilling to read. The returning characters are just as lovable as in the first book, and the new additions give great support to the story.
I loved the changing point of views with each chapter to really get insight into Sisto's adversary. I found myself laughing out loud (repeatedly) and loving the twists and turns as the story evolved!
I was very impressed with how far Sisto had come from the first book (both personally and professionally), and I can't wait for his next adventure.
Great read. Kept me turning the pages to see where Sisto’s new undercover assignment was leading me. Ewing’s masterful story telling opened my senses and I heightened awareness like I was actually there. Highly recommend this book if you enjoy crime, mystery and action.
