Will the Real Women ... Please Stand Up! is every woman's complete handbook to self-discovery, self-love, sex, and sensuality. Ella covers all dimensions of female sensuality, including romantic secrets, practical solutions to sometimes embarrassing problems, entertaining pastimes, erotic techniques, and sensible suggestions for wholesome pleasure. With disarming humor and refreshing common sense, she explains what to do about "great balls of fire" (p. 135); what the most common sexual worries are (p. 150); what to do with Kama Sutra Honey Dust (p. 166); and games you can play (p. 174) ... including some surprising things to do with big toes and champagne glasses. More than just a sex manual, Will the Real Women ... Please Stand Up! provides helpful as well as hilarious advice on sexual ethics (p. 112); telephone savvy (p. 190); how to tell when you're in love (p. 212); 21 reasons to make love (p. 219) [sometimes you just need practice - and sometimes you need to sleep]; and how to heal after breaking up (p. 224). For those who claim to be real women and those who want to be, Will the Real Women ... Please Stand Up! is a positive and rewarding guide to what it takes to achieve sexual self-confidence and sensual self-awareness.
I first heard of this book back around 1995. I ordered the self published version of this book, and applauded her when she went to mainstream publishing. Because I'm in a new relationship, and my old copy sort of hit the dust, I bought this copy as a refresher course.
This book really wasn’t worth killing a tree for the paper to print it. Really it’s lousy and I can’t help but think the author knew it from the number of times (there were fifteen at least) she did self-promotion of the very book the reader had in their hands. I mean how pathetic is it to tell people to read and buy the very book they ARE reading? I should have set this book aside permanently after the third or fourth self-promotion insert and truth be told I wouldn’t let myself because I have recently developed an old bad habit of setting aside a book after getting through a hundred pages. Really this is a worthless book, just a bunch of lists. It really didn’t have anything new, original or creative to say about women’s sexuality or self-esteem. In fact some of what she espouses is just insulting. I can’t imagine that a publisher couldn’t have found a better book to print than this. I got it at a deep discount and now I know why.
