I chanced upon this at a used bookstore while traveling back from Mass, funnily enough. The only gripes I have with this are that the type-face is inconsistently sized on certain psalms, and the commentary at the front is a bit distracting about on the development of this Psalter. Although I’m sure if you’re interested the history of how this Anglo-Saxon monk, just prior to the conquest of England by William of Normandy, composed this Psalter in reference to other vernacular Psalters (like the Gallican Psalter)—the commentary will be of great interest.
I primarily bought this book as a supplement to my already copious collection of prayerbooks, and hope to use it for my daily recitation of the Divine Office. I had been searching for a Medieval vernacular English Psalter for quite some time, and was debating between this Psalter or the Oxford Psalter of 1544.
