The military showdowns, the insectoids, the search for the Gates of Ecumene, and the pursuit of Jiang Dao are all in the past. Earth, too. Kai found himself in a new and unfamiliar world, one unlike anything he has ever seen before. Heavily injured and alone, Kai takes a new step on his path of cultivation. What awaits him in a world where humans are considered nothing more than ordinary beasts? Recent events have changed him. Will he be able to continue cultivating or will he be destroyed, like countless of other daredevils who have dared to challenge the Heavens? Kai is different. Everything around him is different. But one thing remained the same — the cruelty of the world ruled by strength and skill. Ruled by cultivation!
Another great sequel!!! This was amazing! Already preordered the next one! Cant wait to see what happens next, and how the new twist in the epilogue plays out!
This book adds more to the long term goals of the mc. It is another fun and exciting read with battles and plans being hatched and executed. If you are a fan of litrpg and cultivation then this book is for you!
Took me 2 days to read as I never set it. Aside from start to finish just wish the next one will get here soon as it left me at a bit of a cliff hanger
With how fast pace and early into the series this is, the entire series tends to be forgettable. I’m not invested in remembering any character, as they change from book to book, and the location is constantly changing. I can’t remember if the author is referencing a different world, kingdom or galaxy, cause he’s introduced so many that I can’t keep them straight.
It’s a pleasant read, but it seems you need to reread the entire series before each new addition to keep up with what’s going on. And the series just isn’t good enough for that level of commitment. Maybe I’ll read the next one, but with one 200 page book every 5-6 months, I doubt I’ll keep up with it.
Honestly one of my favorite cultivation book series. Sure the main character is a bit over powered for his cultivation level but not to the point where he is easily killing everyone. He still struggles and I'm enjoying the progression. I can't wait to see what this "war" is gonna be like. Gosh I wish it was summer already so the next book can be translated already! XD
A lot was going on in this book and none of it was bad
This book was really good and it falls in line with the other books in the series so far. The only downside is that I couldn't put it down. I was genuinely drawn into the book and only put it down when my eyeballs felt like my eyelids were sandpaper. It did feel like the book was shorter than previous books in the series but again it could be because I couldn't put it down. I would highly recommend this series
After the great first three books and the rather lacklustre fourth, this a very welcome return to the headlong narrative. Kai keeps developing and we now have a new worthy addition to the cast list - I am looking forward to book 6
My Rating System: 5- Perfect for my taste, could not physically stop reading/listening, wanted more afterword. 4- Almost perfect, could not stop reading/listening, probably wanted more afterword. 3- Enjoyed the book, could see others loving it, need to think if I want more. 2- Can see why others might like the book, but I could not, I do not want more. 1- What is this? What went wrong? Why did they do this? This doesn't make any sense! (No idea who it is for but definitely not for me).
