Two detectives, hot on the heels of a killer...
Undercover as adult actors on the wild planet of Bachanalius

Will Steel and Cassie find passion while...

PLAYING THEIR PARTS?

Cassandra Steel and Commander Stone are a unique pair. Together, they comprise the first human/Kindred detective team on the Tampa PD. Their caseload is pretty normal until a heinous new crime is committed--a woman is murdered and it appears that the culprit is a Kindred.

Knowing that a Kindred warrior would never hurt a female, Cassie and Stone start following the trail of the murderer. But it leads them all the way to Bachanalius, a planet devoted entirely to the production of all kinds of alien adult entertainment.

Undercover as "actors," can Cassie and Stone keep their partnership intact? Will making naughty vids together bring them closer together...or drive them apart entirely? And what about the murderer they are stalking? Will they catch him before he kills again?

Evangeline Anderson is a registered MRI tech who would rather be writing. And yes, she is nerdy enough to have a bumper sticker that says “I’d rather be writing.” Honk if you see her! She is thirty-something and lives in Florida with a husband, a son, and two cats. She had been writing erotic fiction for her own gratification for a number of years before it occurred to her to try and get paid for it. To her delight, she found that it was actually possible to get money for having a dirty mind and she has been writing paranormal and Sci-fi erotica steadily ever since.

I said in some other review on another book in the series that no one does worldbuilding smut like Evangeline Anderson and once again, I firmly believe that porn directors would give their dicks, balls, and pussy to do it like she does.

And funnily enough, this book is all about the alien porn industry. Which I never thought about. But sex sells, right? I'm sure the aliens figured that out by now too.

It's really sweet that the Kindred got their own kind of yellow books tho like 😭😭😭 SCENT books??? Omg that's actually ADORABLE like ik they're jacking off while inhaling pieces of paper and then there's sticky pages to deal with but it just seems so TAME ya know??

Nothing tame about what was going on Porn Planet tho lololol.

I could easily give this 5 stars but while it's great, it's not as good as some but better some of the others. The whole series except for the best ones has been at 4 stars tho

Adios 🌊

Another hilarious edition to this series. The descriptions of the other-worlders crack me up, what's in this author's coffee to come up with these ideas?
Human cop Cassie and her Kindred partner Stone are on the hunt for a porn star murderer and imposter. He looks like a Beast Kindred but he can't be.
DNA and other clues lead them to a planet that caters to the sex industry. Just how far will they have to go to complete their mission, collect the evidence and escape? It's a dangerous place, expect the unexpected.
Great story and wonderful characters, I loved it.

A detective team from Tampa PD forms the first human-Kindred partnership on Earth. Cassandra Steel and Commander Stone are in charge of crimes involving various types of Kindred, especially murder. Not all Kindred/Human couples live on the Mother Ship. Some couples decide to live on Earth. If a Kindred believes the woman he loves is in danger or is being threatened, the World Council has ruled his going into a Rage state and even killing the human male is completely justified. Basically, each Kindred crime involves Rage killing, and all the cases seem the same. But then comes the case that starts the two on a life-changing adventure. The victim is not a man, but a woman, and the killer is a Beast Kindred, simply called the Beast.
After investigating what they could in Tampa, they travel to the Mother Ship and then on to Bachanalius, a tiny planet ruled by one being. To be able to investigate there, the pair ends up being actors in the sexual videos put on by the monarch. They pretend to be a Mistress from Yonnie Six and her bodyslave. We have a play within a play for a nail-biting adventure.
When the two are playing the parts of being from Yonnie Six, you just know they’re going to slip up and get caught. If that happens, they will be punished by death. Then when they’re making a sexual video for the monarch, if he doesn’t like what they do, they will be put to death. So you hold your breath each time they enter a new situation.
Every time I thought these two were doing alright, something new got thrown into the mix. At times I was so afraid for these characters because I just knew they were going to get caught and killed. The “good” guys, the “bad” guys, and the “thought they were good but they’re bad” guys were presented so realistically by Ms. Anderson that it was difficult for me to realize they did not exist.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading “Playing their Parts”. Evangeline Anderson has outdone herself with this steamy adventure. As I followed the changes in Cassie and Stone, I was really drawn into this novel.

The pining was so real in this one. Cassandra and Stone are the best of friends and detective partners working for the Kindred. They mainly deal with cases of Kindred men going into Rage and killing human males. Of course, the Kindred always get off recuperation-free. However, it seems a Kindred has killed a female in a porn scene gone wrong. Cassandra and Stone have to go to Bachanalius, a small planet where porn gets made, to finish their mission.

I really liked it, even though once I thought to myself how the dialogue/conversation seemed too similar to other Kindred books. What was weird was that the ending seemed to be missing. It was like Evangeline forgot to write the conclusion regarding the Beast. Did the Beast die? What happened to his court hearing?

It would have been also nice to know if the two continue their job down on Earth or retire to the Mother Ship. And it would be nice if Evangeline could write a book where the heroine isn't plus-size. I don't think Liv or Sophia, the two first heroines in this series, were.

At the beginning of the book, I also thought to myself how Evangeline knows how to write a good story!! I was reading this other book, an HR, that wasn't grabbing my attention and I kept thinking how I'd rather read this book. Also, it had been a month since I had read an EA book, so I was ready to read another one.

I went to the Amazon page to check this book again and possibly buy it (even though I wasn't trying to buy any books). To my good fortune, it was free! I think it's still free on Amazon, but I'm sure it won't be for long.

A wonderful challenging read, captivating characters
This was based around a wonderful detective team based in Tampa and it its an unusual partnership in the fact that it is a human and an Kindred officer working together. Cassandra Steel and Commander Stone are responsible for various kinds of Kindred especially murder, as some of the kindred human couples live off the mothership it may be that they have been being threatened.
As the case starts, they discover that the victim was in fact a female and that the killer is a Beast Kindred as their investigations carry them to the mothership and then on to the planet of Bachanalius, this planet is unbelievably ruled by one Monach a despicable fiend that is filled with a plethora of perversions.
Whilst the pair are on the planet they have to go in disguise and they are Yonnie Six and her body slave, this is a read filled with action and plenty of adventure it is a wonderful read that you will thoroughly enjoy without doubt.
This is a story filled with plenty of ups and down and lots of innuendo that will ensure that once you begin reading this book you will not be able to put it down until you reach the last page.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

A new case is presented to Tampa PD detectives Cassandra Steel and Kindred Commander Stone that implicates that a woman was murdered by a male that resembles a beast Kindred.
Knowing that it's against everything a Kindred believes in, they set off to find this "beast" and prove he isn't a Kindred while also keeping him from harming another.
Their search takes them to a small planet known for the production of other worlds porn.
Going undercover as participants in scenes that cater to a specific topic of interest causes hidden feelings to enhance what is scripted.
Can they finish the mission with the evidence needed before they are found out?
A thrilling and dangerous adventure with many twists that have you anxiously page turning to the end!

I love a good undercover partnership! Cassandra and Commander Stone need to do some things in order to keep their conver intact. Will they be able to finish they job? Or will they have to quit? Hmm, I'd do anything I needed to with Stone, definitely not a hardship. But this was a great story and I loved it! It's one of my favorite kindred books!

Playing their parts was a story I didn’t know I needed but is a story I can’t live without!!! I love the friendship between the kindred and the woman but even more, I am obsessed with the suspense. Miss Anderson has always been amazing at writing the best scenes between her characters and she did not disappoint. A must read and if you are still reading this review, go buy the book!

I am always super excited when it comes to a new Kindred novel coming out. OMG!!! This one was outstanding. Cassandra & Stone, I love their characters. The way the novel starts and keeps you hooked until the end is phenomenal. BDSM element also added something extra. Absolutely loved this.

I don’t know why I keep coming back to these books. It’s an incredibly played formula. Kindred and girl are tasked with going to some alien planet where they make them dress in near nothing. Girl goes on and on about being fat and Kindred of course loves fat women. After they first arrive on the new planet they have so a mildly sexual thing I. Front of the new aliens and then are shown back to their private room where the Kindred eventually manually stimulates the girl to orgasm and then jacks off in the bathroom while sucking his fingers. You know because they need to eat pussy so that’s the next best thing. They try some weird food...meet some ridiculously named people and end up having to perform sexually again in a banquet style setting. They eventually go home some misunderstanding happens and then they break up for a while and eventually the girl finds the kindred again and seduces him into bonding sex with her. It doesn’t matter which book you read this is the basic premise. At first the Kindred series was great and the sex scenes in the books are plentiful and pretty well written. The monotony of the each and every book it’s well beyond tedious. I hope Evangeline Anderson does a total rehaul of the series because I can’t keep buying the same book over and over. My recommendation is to skip this book unless you can find a free copy. If you bought any of the previous ones you already own this book as well.

I get that there is a lot of prejudice for "big girls" on earth or at least the western cultures and that women can get very caught up on if they are too fat and some men are pretty petty and jerks about someone that isn't the perfect size so I appreciate that the author would make a point of having perfect fantasy men who not only respected women but also especially liked the full figured ones. And to be realistic I'm sure some of those women will be self-conscious about their size and weight. but it gets a bit tired to always have every one of them sure that the kindred that likes them couldn't possibly actually like them since they weren't slim enough. At this point in the series it seems like the kindred are well enough known that it is common knowledge that they like larger women. It gets a little old to hear her say but he deserves a supermodel who is stick thin.

The whole fixation on they just want to be friends also get tiring. She is particularily fixed on it because she doesn't want sex to ruin the friendship. Fair enough but then she actually wants more but keeps hammering away on how they need to remain friends. when he agrees with her or says he better not do a certain thing so as not to jeopardize the friendship she takes that to mean it's all he wants somehow deciding that it's his idea they stay only friends. She's been working with him for 2 years and dines't know him well enough to know a Kindred would always respect the lady's wishes. He's told her enough other complimentary things that I'm pretty sure she ought to be able to figure ut that he'd be up for more if she was.

Other than that it's a pretty standard kindred tales novel. hot graphic sex scenes, crazy aliens, some kind danger they must overcome. Not her best work but not terrible.

To be honest, the book started fine because having the human-kindred cop duo was interesting. Also, the mystery plot was a good idea - too bad that there wasn't much of a plot for a book of this lenght. That's because EA keeps rehashing the ritual/forced/feigned sex acts over and over again - that's what practically every book in this series has become. I think it's great when you find a formula that works for you as an author (especially if it satisfies your personal tastes) but try to switch it up a bit once in a while. I think that books like Bonded by Accident or the first Kindred books where women were taken to bond with a Kindred are examples of different plot lines that don't include some cheesy "weird" culture that's (yet again) obsessed with sex. I mean, we humans are pretty obsessed with it (I'm here, am I not?), but aliens would make Freud quit his job.

I like the characters in this book 📚 very much. I like that Cassandra is a police lady and Stone is a police man. I do myself calling him Stonie from neighbours sometimes when I read the book 📚. I would like to read more Kindered books about police officers men and women. I missed the other Kindered characters and begin to wish their were in the book 📚 too. I would like to have more animals like dog's in the Kindered book's too. I would like to read about Kindered with a lost of a arm or leg and the Bride with a lost arm or leg too.
I very actually liked from chapter 46 on word's in this book and my in story with revenge on police investigation station in advance on the story. Chapter 46 is were I got fibre tingle feeling in my body on the 26th August 🌃 night.
Sometimes when I was reading this book 📚 and towards the end of the book I wanted other unknown hero charter to appear out of nowhere on me and Stone and Cassandra. I wanted unknown hero charter to help them besides the Kindered mother ship people but I didn't seem to know which charter person I wanted to appear on me, maybe I was looking for someone to rescue Cassandra and Stone and I knew that Commander Sliver and left them in the book 📚. Maybe I wanted to be with the characters in this book 📚 more than anything police officers and her hero and her Kindered warrior. I didn't like the idea of the of Cassandra being poisened at at tall.i felt sorry for Cassandra and I just didn't want it so happen towards her. Towards the end of the book 📚 I felt hurt about what was happening and in my I didn't want the energy to happen and I didn't want anyone or Kindered to help the two main characters, I felt shocked, I got so much involved to the book 📚. I did love the book 📚 towards the end ☺️. I like the acting parts very much, I would like to be in the next Kindered police book 📚.

Playing Their Parts: Kindred Tales 31 - Evangeline Anderson

This is a different kind of Kindred Tales as it takes place on earth with the first ever human/Kindred detective team. The team Cassandra and Stone (Kindred Warrior) handle cases involving the Kindred, usually when one of them goes into rage protecting their female and/or mate against the stupid male who dares to put her in jeopardy.
The author does hint at some difficult scenes due to the subject matter of this investigation which is tough to read but reminds me of so many unfortunate incidents that happen to women for real that are the premise for many movie and tv shows, and features on the news. At least here we get to see this unique team proactive about solving the case.
Of course, Cassie and Stone are secretly attracted to each other but she is recently out of a bad marriage and he misunderstands her despite the fact s
He knows she is his fated mate.
Determined to keep things “partner” appropriate the team travel across the universe to face danger and crazy situations while working this case.
It’s an original story set in new and familiar worlds built so imaginatively by this awesome author.
This is another great Kindred Tales that brings all the special elements, characters and reading experience Evangeline Anderson gifts her readers with!

Another fantastic story from Evangeline Anderson in her Kindred Tales Series. I adore this series as they are always entertaining and well written. The creative ideas that Ms Anderson comes up with lures you into the world of the unknown and entices you to visualise every moment.
Playing their parts is about the first human-kindred team on the Tampa Police Department that specialises in suspected murder cases involving the Kindred.
Cassandra Steel is our lovely heroine who doesn't believe the sexy Commander Stone who is a Beast Kindred could ever have eyes for her. She is happy to keep their relationship strictly business so that she never makes a fool of herself. However, when Cassandra and Stone have to travel from Earth to a distance planet and pose as a couple from Yonnie Six to follow the killer everything starts to heat up. They are pretend to be Mistress and Slave and that they want to be part of an exclusive porn industry so they can catch the suspect of the murder.
Of course nothing is ever as simple as planned and l loved following their adventure. Highly recommend this book.

Ok. Not my favorite for 3 reasons.
1. No kindred virgin
2. A stupid misunderstanding leads to them not bonding for 90% of the book. I mean, the term “just friends” is what keeps them apart… really?
3. Once again the Goddess save the day. And it was completely unnecessary. Our kindred hero could have easily figured out what to do on his own, no booming internal voices required. As I have said in previous reviews… I hope the Goddess gets her own story and explains her need to interfere lately. Centuries of never hearing from her and lately she just drops in with helpful tips on how to get a happy ending. I hope there is a reason for all this.

What I did like… the BDSM takes another step here. I know we have seen a little before, this goes a little bit further. I mean we haven’t had a kindred spank a girl with a flogger before, have we!?
And of course I always love a curvy heroine, Doll!

Another Kindred tale to enjoy. Cassie and Stone are partners who investigate Kindred related events on the planet. The evidence related to a murdered girl leads to it having been a Beast Kindred, but they know this to be false. To prove that it most certainly wasn't the Kindred, they must go undercover off world. What they don't know is how close they will need to become to each other to survive the adventure. They have both liked and craved each other, but neither wanted to ruin their friendship. This adventure may just get them to admit the truth to each other and with it enjoy some kinky sexy time together. My first foray into alien romance was with this author and her book Claimed. I admit I do not read every book in every genre she puts out but I am always willing to give it a try. Her work draws you in. Her Kindred Series is awesome because of the subject matter. The different types of Kindred and the drama that goes on in the Universe and now in other Universes. At first you think oh it's all sunshine and rainbows but her stories can take a dark turn like this one. I'm not talking the BDSM in this book. The abuse and trauma and the homicide...so there are triggers. But I think it is really fantastic when an author pushes themselves, especially in romance, and goes beyond kink and gives the reader true human experience in the gritty flesh. And this woman does it with aliens. Bravo.

Ready for a plot twist
When the newest version of CSI is a Kindred and his human female partner, you just know the story is going to be amazing. I love the characters! The author really did a fantastic job with the way they interacted to each other and the situations they found themselves in. And what a situation it was. I enjoyed how they slipped into the undercover role they had to play, and the action, danger, and anticipation made this a ride I didn’t want to get off of. This book was another wonderful addition to the Kindred series and I am looking forward to seeing what the author comes up with next.

This is the first story that has a kindred living on earth, working as a police officer at that. These two deny the possibility that the other would have feelings for the other, especially since he’d heard what she’d told her ex-husband that he was only a friend and she didn’t see him that way to keep from causing a fight. Being on a planet that causes them to do things they normally wouldn’t helps her to find out her feelings are more than she expected, but they’ve got to find a killer and stay alive before they can find out that they’re meant to be be together.

Playing Their Parts

Omg! This latest Kindred Tales book is so sensual and erotic. Cassandra Steel and Commander Stonev are police detectives and partners who investigate all crimes committed by Kindred warriors. Det. Stonev, or Stone as Cassie calls him, is a Kindred warrior. When a call comes in reporting a female has been tortured, raped, drugged and murdered by an alleged Kindred warrior they are sent undercover to find the truth and bring justice for the victim. I could not put this book down. Absolutely loved it.

A Kindred romance. Kindred protect and cherish all females. So the way human men treat women is a total mystery to them. If they find their mate they worship them and will do anything to see them happy and safe. Cassie and Stone a detectives. When one case comes in that shatters all rules about kindred. But Stone, being a blood kindred, will do whatever is necessary to find the truth and bring about justice. This will lead them to a world where what we call adult films are made. So expect about anything when a world that is for aliens and all type of kinks is the clue to solving the case.

Oh my heavens Evangeline Anderson does it again! So stinking sexy and amazing. Stone is fantastic. He was so great to just be the friend he knew Cassie needed and thought she wanted. He certainly got an education on kink in this story and yet he kept his sweetness. Loved him. Cassie was his perfect match there. So determined to keep Stone as a friend and nothing more so that she doesn’t lose him. Their chemistry was totally off the charts and I love how they had each other’s backs not matter what. Fabulous story!

Cute and sweet

Blood Kindred are my favorite because of Sylvan, so seeing another one was very nice. I like the clinical side of them, but I also like it when they lose control. This story was about partners who needed to travel to another world to catch a criminal. It was very good.

Lots of adventure, misunderstandings that always happens with a Kindred, and a happy ending. Great story.

I liked the story. Stone and Cassandra start as friends (although he secretly knows she is his mate) and, as part of their job, they end up going to a planet to apprehend a murderer impersonating a Beast Kindred. The villain is a sort of slug much like Jabba the Hutt. And is extremely disgusting. As with all Ms. Anderson’s stories, there is a happily ever after ending.
