Undercover. Under fire. Under arrest....

It's hard to save a special agent's life with your hands cuffed behind your back.

Anna walks into the house and is met with flashbang. The FBI have her cuffed and belted into the back of their car. Two FBI agents are escorting her over the mountains of West Virginia heading to Washington, DC, for interrogation....

She was never meant to get there alive.

Flying off the side of the icy road, a car crash is Anna's chance to escape and survive. It would be so much easier without her special forces code - no man left behind.

With injured FBI Special Agent Steve Finley in tow, it's a cross-country cat-and-mouse game while maintaining her undercover status.

I've given this a B for narration and a B- for content at AudioGals, so I'll bump up to 4 stars

I chose to review Fiona Quinn’s Cold Red – book two in her  FBI Joint Task Force  series – because I’d really enjoyed book one, Open Secret, which I found to be a fast-paced and compelling thriller that kept me pretty much glued to it from start to finish. FBI Joint Task Force is a mini-series that falls under the author’s wider Iniquus World of “high stakes national security” (so says Ms. Quinn’s website), but although there are recurring characters who appear or are namechecked, both of these books work fine as standalones. But just to be contrary, I was a little bit disappointed that Cold Red isn’t related to Open Secret by plot or character; I’d so enjoyed the main plotline in that book that I’d hoped for more.

Anastasia Senko – Anna – is a former army ranger and current member of the Asymmetric Warfare Group, and is deep undercover as part of her mission to find out who is behind the technology being used to disrupt US military satellite communications in Syria and Iraq. The AWG has reason to believe it’s coming from Slovakia; specifically from computers belonging to the powerful Zoric family (which has links to the Russian FSB), and Anna’s facility with the Slovakian language means she’s been sent to infiltrate the Zoric family to gather intelligence. Her most recent assignment for the Zorics is to babysit Johnathan, a wealthy social-climber looking for an “in” with the Russians, who is also funding a supremacist militia group, the Southern Iron Cross.

The story starts – literally – with a bang, as an FBI SWAT team enters a house in West Virginia to arrest Johnathan and Anna, and she’s instantly planning to escape and evade, as per the instructions given by her commander at the SIC. It’s not going to be easy; she’s going to have to get Johnathan away as well, and one of the two FBI agents escorting them is definitely going to be a problem. Special Agent Steve Finley is strong, fit, sharp-edged, and not at all the type to miss a trick – as she discovers when he swiftly removes her boot laces and the weapons concealed in the heels while strapping her into the back of their transport vehicle.

When Finley tells her they’re going to Washington D.C – a six hour drive away – Anna immediately knows something is off. The question is… what? She still hasn’t come up with any answers when, with bad weather coming in and driving conditions across the mountain route they’ve been directed along becoming increasingly dangerous, the car loses its grip on the icy road and goes end-over-end, over the edge of the road and down the side of the mountain.

Johnathan and the other FBI agent are thrown from the car and Finley, still in the driver’s seat, is unconscious. Anna finds the bodies of the other two passengers, and on searching Special Agent Mulvaney’s clothing, is surprised to find the woman had two cell phones – one obviously her ‘regular’ one with contacts of friends and family on, the other with a single contact, and a text history containing a series of explicit photos of Mulvaney and a man Anna realises (from looking at the photos on the other phone) isn’t her husband. She was having an affair and the photos were used to blackmail her into making sure Anna never reached DC. Worse, the FBI will have no idea where to look for them, whereas whoever set them up will be able to find them easily. They’re miles from anywhere in hostile conditions, and Anna has to get away from the wreck fast – but before that she’s got to decide if she can trust Finley or not.

Anna is a kick-ass heroine and her training and background have given her the knowledge and skills needed to give them both the best chance of survival. She’s supremely competent and used to thinking on her feet, all of it confirming what Finley had suspected from the start, that she’s obviously had some sort of military training – which doesn’t mesh with her being a member of the SIC. And while Finley is currently riding a desk job at the FBI (owing to a serious screw up on a previous mission) he’s former Task Force, so he’s no slouch when it comes to tactics and strategy and together they make a pretty good team. The bulk of the story is a two-hander as Anna and Finley – who has sustained a head injury – have to rely on each other in order to survive the freezing conditions, evade their pursuers and find their way back to civilisation.

The action/suspense part of the story is mostly to do with Anna and Finley battling the elements and trying to work out who wants them dead (and why). A connection develops between them as they discuss their theories and improvise shelters and survival techniques, but the romance in the story is pretty perfunctory. Both characters acknowledge an attraction to the other (and I like that Steve is all about Anna’s confidence and badassery rather than her looks), but given they spend most of the book fighting for survival, the fact that they don’t jump each other’s bones (even though there are a couple of “we must snuggle to conserve body heat” moments) makes sense. For one thing, Finley is likely concussed, and for another, it’s life or death and they have to keep their wits about them, and I preferred that approach to those stories where the hero and heroine start shagging while the bullets are flying! I would definitely have liked the book to have had more room for a romance to develop, but the book ends with a strong HFN as Steve and Anna decide they want to give a relationship a try.

Troy Duran is a popular narrator of romance, but he’s new-to-me, and was another reason I wanted to listen to Cold Red for review. He has a smooth, deep voice that is easy on the ear, and his performance is clearly enunciated and generally well-paced – if a little slow in the narrative. He performs the female roles well, adopting a slightly higher pitch and softened timbre, and differentiates effectively between the secondary characters, adopting appropriate and consistent accents where needed. As I’ve said above, the majority of the book is just Steve and Anna (which Mr. Duran annoyingly pronounces “Uhnna” for some reason) so there aren’t many other characters anyway, and the conversations between the two of them are naturally rhythmic and well-nuanced. I’ll definitely be on the look-out for more of his narrations.

Cold Red comes in at just over six hours so isn’t a lengthy listen, but although I did like the storyline, the lack of romance in a book categorised as a romantic suspense title was disappointing. The story is fast-paced, clever and entertaining and Troy Duran’s narration is definitely worth the price of admission – but if you want more romance along with your suspense, it might not be the best choice.

Another great read by Fiona Quinn. If you are a fan, you have already read about Steve Finley
But if not, this can be read as a standalone. But you will want to get to know all of the people in the Fiona Quinn's books. This book is filled with romance and intrigue. Anna and Steve don't know who to trust. Can they even trust each other? They will have to work thru things together to take down the bad guys.

I Initially came to this book with no prior experience in the world of Iniquus, so I wasn’t carrying any baggage about Finley’s previous bad behaviour. I cannot even begin to imagine how difficult it must be for an author to redeem a character the way it sounds like Finley needed to be. Now that it’s over, I need the next book NOW! I also need to go back and read the whole rest of the series that came before. This story stands perfectly well on its own with just enough teasers about the other stories to make my one-click finger itchy.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this story from the author.

Fate?

Ah! So many twists, turns and last minute changes that are pure chance or mistake and still they end up together, fighting for their lives. I am so glad Steve finally gets his story and his shot at a HEA. He knows he made mistakes and bad judgements and has fully accepted his desk duty, so why does he suddenly find himself thrown into the middle of a snow blizzard with....Zelda? Or Anna?
Secrets, lies, undercover ops and bad decisions hamper their escape and make them question who they can actually trust....and who will get them killed.
The ghosts of the past just won't stay buried, but Anna and Steve just click and the pieces they each have, along with those they uncover, paint a very bad picture for the chances of them escaping, even without their injuries. But Anna is determined and she is not prepared to leave him behind to die, she drags Steve step by step, shuffle by shuffle and night by night as they fight for survival.
I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

Most of the book was about the the ex girlfriend and hero talking about the ex and his love for the ex,then comparing the ex with Anna....sigh. The author plugging in all her numerous books. The only good thing is Anna...no love connection. He basically asked her on date on the last page.

Great book

This story is a go from page one. Anna and Finly keep running into obstacles. You keep wandering if they are going to make it. Steal page turner. One flat the book is not finished I guess the story will continue in another book.

Enjoyed the story...but just stopped, 16pages Left in the book, it just stopped. So many questions unanswered. It was quite disappointing. There was also many editing errors. Some were repeated such as home used instead of hone. The heroine was quite cool. They hero was sweet. They had trial after trial leading up to really a big nothing at the ending. An epilogue would’ve even been nice. I think this author is quite talented, but I felt still wanting at the end of this story. I felt the story needed to be wrapped up. I was very glad I didn’t spend $4.99 on this book, had I, I would’ve returned it. I bought #3 at same time as this book which is 2nd in this series. I hope #3 wraps up better than this one. First time I’ve read this author I believe. I feel she had a great story...it just fell really short. Like maybe the last few chapters were left out of the book. The plot was well done but poorly executed in my opinion.

You know it's the mark of a good writer when you find yourself at the edge of your seat in anticipation of what may happen next and you experience some of szme emotions as the book's characters do. In this case I swear I was cold almost the entire time that Steve and Anna were. I loved that Anna AKA Zelda was the one was had to be responsible for their survival. Steve's injuries rendered him incapable. Figuring out that the situation in which they find themselves was a set up was telling. Having Iniquus at their backs was probably their only saving grace. Steve was serving his penance for his mishandling of the Lacey Stewart debacle so falling for another woman who could be construed as his mission wasn't what he wanted. And yet, this strong, capable, smart, savvy woman has captured him. Anna, despite her own reservations, is drwan to Steve too but first she has a mission that must be completed.

Cold Red by Fiona Quinn

This is a great story. It combines mystery, intrigue, deception and terrifying physical peril with a plot and cast of characters that are addicting. It is listed as book 1 in the FBI Joint Task Force series, but it clearly is an offshoot from another series. These characters have too much history, but it was well mapped and easy to follow. I plan to go back and see where this all started.

*I read this as part of the Love Under Fire anthology and dropped a star for editing. I do not know if these errors have been addressed in this edition.

An action packed novel from the beginning. Having read a few of Fiona Quinn’s books before it’s nice to hear about some of the secondary characters that have appeared in previous stories.

It’s a strange life these agents lead, never quite knowing what is the truth or who to trust, then add a dash of hope and love into the mix and an ordinary person who lives a staid and regular life is transported into another world.

The plot is believable, exciting and thrilling and gave me ‘fingers to the mouth’ moments of amazements.

A great read.

This is the second book in a triad (at least, so far); it is not necessary to read the first of this series in order to enjoy the second. Here, FBI special agent Steve Finley is still haunted by the debacle that occurred when he badly used his asset, Lacey Stewart, with whom he then fell in love. She was outraged and fell hard for the Iniquus agent who rescued her. Finley is still doing penance, personally and professionally.

Agent Finley decides to help a friend, another agent in the FBI, by performing what is essentially a babysitting job, transporting prisoners back to Washington DC. Anastasia Senko (Anna) is his prisoner, sort of. This story has many layers flowing through it, all of which enrich the storyline with tantalizing glimpses into a much, much bigger picture.

The story is told using dialog as readily as actions when Finley and Anna must survive sub-freezing temperatures in the wilds of West Virginia. It is harrowing and keeps the reader guessing at each potential outcome as one action after another leads them deeper into a mystery. While all but one of Ms. Quinn’s books (the ones I have read, at least) do not have cliffhangers, neither do they end on a definite note. Usually, there are a lot of unanswered questions and loose ends. Somehow, this does not detract from the story which is a little nugget in the middle of a gigantic storm.

At the story’s end, Anna and Finley ask themselves if their lives allow them to become an “us.” It’s an unknown that is not answered. No HEA here. But there are still adventures “out there” and Anna moves on back to her assignment while Finley presumably returns to his desk to continue his atonement. The book is a quick read that captures a reader’s attention and doesn’t let go until the very end.

There are more mistakes in this book than I usually note in Ms. Quinn’s writings. Here are some examples:
 There is a sudden change in tense in the middle of a paragraph. The story uses past tense and present tense intrudes: “He turned his head to thank Mulvaney, but there sat Zelda with Mulvaney’s gun in her hand. Cuffs and shackles are gone.” I believe that should read, “Cuffs and shackles WERE gone.”
 “Anna peaked up to find the sun’s position.” Wrong homonym: while Anna and Finley may be close to a mountain peak, this sentence should read, “Anna PEEKED up to find the sun’s position.”
 “’Whose Lynx?’ Anna asked….” Again, wrong homonym. Anna is asking who is Lynx. The sentence should read, “'WHO’S Lynx?’ Anna asked….”
 There are several punctuation errors. Here is one: “No. no, no, no, no.” Either the period after the first “No” should have been a comma, or the next “no” should have been capitalized. Either of these is correct: “No. No, no, no, no.” or “No, no, no, no, no.”
 “He heard another shot cracked the silence up the street.” The shot that cracked the silence should not be in the past tense since the verb, “heard,” is already in past tense. The sentence is smoother like this: “He heard another shot CRACK the silence up the street.”
 “Her heartbeat in her ears.” This sentence, as written, has no verb. “Heartbeat” is a noun. I believe the writer omitted a space between “heart” and “beat,” so the sentence should read, “Her heart beat in her ears.”
 “First, their husband’s contracts all needed a re-up signature.” Unless all the women being discussed share one husband, the apostrophe is incorrectly signifying one man. The sentence should read, “First, their husbands’ contracts all needed a re-up signature.” Better yet: “First, their husbands’ contracts all needed re-up signatures,” since we can infer that more than one husband must sign to re-up in the military.
 “But if Raine sent a Yes, thanks! Pepperoni and extra cheese to Strike Force to get them en route.” This sentence is just a dependent clause – it doesn’t tell us what will happen IF Raine gets the strike force en route. I’m not sure what the writer is trying to say. Perhaps, “If Raine sent a Yes, thanks! Pepperoni and extra cheese to Strike Force, then agents would be en route,” or some such.
 At the end of the book, there is a blurb with an extra space in it: “Tu rn the page to find….” That should be, “Turn the page to find….”

I rated this book 4-stars. It was a very good read, and I could scarcely put it down to work on other projects. I will definitely read the third book in this series and am already looking forward to it, as usual.

This is the 2nd book in the FBI Joint Task Forec series. It introduces Zelda( Anna) as an under cover agent who is inserted in the SIC group. The story starts with her being arrested along with Jonathan, who she was instructed to watch over, by the FBI. She and Jonathan were to be transported by two individual FBI agents. Steve Finley is the primary agent in the transport. During this transport, the other agent was being blackmailed and wound up working with SIC to deliver both Jonathan and Anna to a location where they were to be killed. A snowstorm impeding their progresss and they wound up sliding off the road where both Jonathan and the woman agent were killed.

Both Steve and Zelda survived they crash, but Steve received a head injury. Zelda later mentioned that her real name was Anna after she broke through the ice trying to save Steve. This time, Steve was able to rescue Anna instead of the other way around. The majority of the story related to Steve and Anna trying to escape discovery by the SIC group that were out searching for them. They were able to hide even when Drones equipped with FLIR devices were part of the search. This went on until they ultimately made it to the main road where they were picked up by a member of the Group. Anna made the discovery and Steve and Anna took off in the SUV that belonged to the group member. They were being chased by the Police in West Virginia (members of the group were law enforcement). With the assistance of Iniquus Warriors, they were able to avoid capture and were transported to the hospital in Washington, D.C.

Steve was prepped for surgery and Anna had her injuries looked out and was released. In her undercover role, she went to a social event where the person responsible for her attempted murder was present.

If you want to see the events that occurred during their pursuit and find out what happened to Steve and Anna, then I recommend that you read this book.

Cold Red: FBI Joint Taskforce Series Book 2 is written by Fiona Quinn. Of the three books in this trilogy, this is the best one. Anna, whose name for this mission is Zelda Fitzgerald, has been caught in a raid with Johnathan who has been backing the SIC gang and who she has been following. She had stopped by to tell him she was leaving him with someone else and going with a new customer. Just as she got here, the SWAT team came in and arrested her as well as Johnathan. They are turned over to Special Agent Steve Finley and Officer Patty Mulvaney were to drive Anna and Johnathan to Washington, DC to be interrogated. It was to be a six- hour drive but probably more with the snow storm in the forecast.
Anna had no intention of getting to Washington DC. She intended on getting away when they stopped for fuel or food. However, Steve Finley kept her in handcuffs and shackles and under surveillance the entire time. On a windy, snow- covered road, Johnathan started acting up. He was probably on drugs or coming down from off of them. From the front seat, Patty turned around to help subdue him; but they kept fighting. They hit Steve and the car went off the cliff nest to the road and turned over and over. When she came to, Anna found herself upside down but unharmed. She got herself down to find Johnathan and Patty had been thrown from the car and died. Steve was unconscious but alive. Anna got as many supplies together as she could from the car before she got Steve out. They both knew that the “accident” was intentional and that the SIC people would be after them. They had to leave. She figured it would take them 4-5 days to walk to a town through the forest. They couldn’t stay on the road because they would be found. They had to stay alive and not be caught until they got to someone they could trust. With a head injury, Steve couldn’t walk fast or far at a time. They have little food and fewer supplies. Will they make it?

The second book in the FBI Joint Taskforce series and my second by Fiona Quinn is an action-packed read with a perfect concoction of mystery, thrill, deception, and espionage. After reading the third book in this series, I was enthralled by the author's concept of joint taskforce series, and introducing the world of Iniquus. Also, I was intrigued by the role and evolution of identities that made me begin reading in the reverse order. The plot primarily revolves around the survival of two protagonists - Anna/Zelda (an undercover agent) and Steve Finely (FBI Agent), when an accident coupled with a snowstorm plays havoc with their transfer to an undisclosed location where Anna and her accomplice was to be eliminated. However, the accomplice and the FBI agent's partner (the traitor) gets killed in the accident. What follows next is a nail-biting survival of the duo in the cold freezing environment and escaping from the lurking eyes of their assassins. With the help of the Iniquus team Panther force, they avoid being captured and safely cross over to Washington DC. While Anna is released after attending to her injuries and debriefing, Steve is prepared for surgery on his head. Anna is finally able to meet the mastermind behind the assassination attempt at a social event and unveil the nefarious route taken by people at the helm of power to launder huge sums of money for personal gains and later eliminate the transactional enablers to safeguard their secrets. The plot is very engaging and keeps the reader hooked on. Must read for all crime thriller enthusiasts.

Scarily relevant thriller

The more I read a work from Fiona Quinn the more I am impressed by her gripping thrillers, that are so in tune with the national and international issues of the day. Those issues are examined with cold, military pragmatism that leaves little room for all the overwhelming emotional rhetoric ringing in our ears.
In between she manages to tell a romantic love story in each book. That usually end in a HEA for the couple, keeping in mind their obligations to the country. She doesn't magically make everything all better or take down all the enemies, in fact sometimes the heros just win or survive the battle.

In this book FBI Special Agent Steve Finley, still in the doghouse for his behavior in an earlier book is taking another agent's place to transport prisoners from where they are captured to D.C. One of the prisoners goes from weaping in a fetal position to flipping out, in a winter storm, on a cliff road. Add in Agent Finley's partner on this trip being not quite up to her job and the other prisoner who seems far more capable and canny than Agent Finley expects. The work and the car take a very unexpected trip.

I would encourage anyone who enjoys a good book to seek out this or any other Fiona Quinn book.

Great read

I really enjoyed this story! It pulled me in from beginning to end and held my attention the entire time. I enjoyed getting to see Finley again (met him in prior books in the Iniquus world) and seeing him find somebody. He made some mistakes the last time he was with someone and it was interesting to get to know him better and see him redeem himself from that. It is not needed to have read the prior books in order to fully enjoy this one. I also enjoyed Anna and the way that she handled herself and all the curve balls that are thrown at her. Steve Finley and Anna are thrown together without having the full story and are forced to work together in order to survive. Anna is undercover and has been arrested and Finley is working transport when they end up in a large snowstorm and off the road with people after them. This is definitely a book where actions speak louder than words as neither knows if they can really trust the other person or not and not able to share full details so they build trust by the actions and looking at how the other one is acting and what they are doing. I enjoyed this one for sure. It had quite a few twists and turns and was well done.

Hope Springs External

This book springs into action from the first flash bang to the final hope filled conclusion. Zelda is tough, gritty, smart and a former Army Ranger. Steve Finley is a benched FBI Special Agent paying his penance by doing some routine prisoner transport work for the Bureau. It is soon apparent that nothing about this transport is routine. Zelda and Steve must rely on each other to survive what becomes a dangerous hike for survival through a snowstorm in frozen wasteland while hiding from their mutual enemies and suffering serious injuries. The challenges these two face are daunting but between them their experience, smarts and training provide them enough strength to find their way back to help. But even help brings danger and terror. The ending is a bit abrupt, but I'm hopeful Ms. Quinn will bring us more adventure for our new impressive couple.

Another great read!

This KU library selection is a great standalone follow-up to the Lynx, Strike Force and Uncommon Enemies series.

Anna is undercover in a West Virginia militia with ties to Russia. But an FBI raid sweeps her up and Steve Finley, introduced in earlier Iniquus books, trades places with an expectant father to drive Anna and another SIC member, Jonathan, across the mountains to jail. However, SIC has other plans for Anna and Jonathan, who has outlived his usefulness. And Finley and his partner are pawns in their plans. But a blizzard on the mountain road leads to an accident that puts badly injured Finley and Anna into the wilderness fighting for their lives, not sure who they can trust.

While I enjoyed seeing Steve, find a person he could be with, this story was simplistic in its mission but complicated with political intentions. It joins the adversaries together in quite a few of Fionas previous books, so in a way, I'm glad I had listened as i knew who these characters were. But in saying that, you can read this as a standard alone.
The survival skills and the research it took for Ms Quinn to write this, is as per usual incredible. Everything seems to fold together as each book moves along.
I am listening to her novels in chronological order so I have different series all meshing together to create the stories and carry the flow on of characters from previous books.
Troy Duran did a marvellous job of narrating as per usual and I am looking forward to the next book.

My favourite line from the story Cold Red
'my balls got icicles hanging off them' ok that line had me chuckling it's so good to read a book that makes me laugh at the oddest moments, here we have 2 people trying to survive a snowy wilderness and not get caught by the bad guy's and I'm laughing at a good one liner

Everything's a lie

Anna Is undercover when the fbi came storming in to arrest her. Then she was put in a car for a six hr drive to DC but somewhere on the way she needed to try to escape, but things went from bad to deadly when the car almost slid off the cliff and killed one agent and the guy she was to watch. The driver had severe head injuries and because of her training she believed in 'no man left behind' so she was determined to get to safety and to a hospital but the Russians had other plans and SIC was wondering what side she was on. While being on the run and nearly killed the 2 agents became closer than you'd ever thought.

Betrayal everywhere

This series has the best female characters! Anna/Zelda is fierce and I love all of her accomplishments. This story has several stories within it and all are fascinatingly interwoven. There is the potential romance, the undercover agent, the Zuric’s story from the whole series, Finley’s redemption and more.

The writing is engaging and the scenes are vivid. I found the blend of action, military, undercover and balancing trust and skepticism fascinating. I wondered when Steve would get a HEA and while it is not a full HEA it is one in progress. And man...Anna is amazing! I hope to see more of her in the series!

Disgraced FBI agent Steve Finley was called to help transport for Zelda Fitzgerald/Anna Senko and a militia-type man’s arrest. A sudden snowstorm, frigid temperatures and a wrong turn in steep mountains are a perfect storm leaving Anna and Finley badly injured and their colleagues dead in an accident off the assigned route.

Taking in the situation and what she knows, Anna uses all her wits to get them to relative safety until Finley can help himself. With a barely functioning Finley, the pair rely on Anna’s survival skills as feelings spark between them. I listened to this following on from the first book Open Secret which I enjoyed. This book had a different story arc to it with no real link to the first which I liked in a way. I enjoyed the action elects in this one especially given that most of the book is about Anna and Finely trying to survive the weather conditions, their injuries and the chase all while trying to figure out what is going on and who they can trust, especially each other. I think the ending between the two with more of a try it and see it probably more realistic given the theme of the book. All in all enjoyed it was an easy listen

Undercover operatives, moles, double agents. When a disgraced undercover operative meets up with a double agent, the sparks are flying. But there’s danger on the horizon too. When the smoke clears and the bodies are counted, who will be left standing?

This fast paced spy thriller has all the bells and whistles. Add in romance and you have a book you just cannot put down.

Quinn is a skillful weaver when it comes to equal threads of danger and romance, this is definitively her genre. The characters come alive and grab you with no intention of letting go till they’re done.

I highly recommend this second entry in the Task Force series; in fact, while you set about catching up, I’m heading deep into Book Three.

Different

Different than I was expecting, but never the less excellent! I got cold reading where they were and what was happening!. So much information on surviving in the wilderness, during a snow storm. Not many people would have the knowledge or have the equipment, as they did. But then, not many people would be in a blizzard, with people out to kill you either!! I highly recommend Code Red. He careful, you might get frostbite! I would also like to thank Fiona for having her books in Kindle Unlimited.

Another engaging and adrenaline pumping story of spies and intrigue. Steve Finley returns but heroine is undercover Ranger, Anna as Eastern European spy Zelda Fitsgerald. What's starts as a transfer of terrorist for Steve and another agent turns into a life or death run through a snow storm in Western Virginia for Steve and Anna. Can they trust each other when they are hunted and the roles of captive are blurred. Look forward to the next installment in the series of books involving Inquuis.
