It was my new beginning. Until they gave me to the alien barbarian.
Marion can’t believe her luck when she secures a spot on the first transport to Xavren. It’s like winning the lottery when the Intergalactic Colonist Association (ICA) pledges to provide her with everything she needs to succeed as a founding member of the human colony.
Once she sets foot on Xarven, she realizes there’s more to the bargain. The council expects something in return for their kindness.
Brotak carries the future of his clan on his broad shoulders. With no females, their people face extinction. He does the unthinkable and strikes a deal with the Xavren council. Human women in exchange for his tribe’s rich land.
The first woman is delivered, and all his doubts, plans, and good intentions are discarded in a moment. He’ll claim her, breed her and enjoy every minute of it.

Title: ➳ Untamed Alien Series: ➳ Barbarian Clans of Xavren1# Author: ➳ Luna Kingsley Published January 28th 2021 ⭐⭐
ღ Let me start by saying that, I have not read a alien romance book in a very long time! So, when one of my fellow goodreads challenge me to read this book to see if I agreed with her thoughts on it of course I took the challenge
Marion & her sisters (Lana and Diana) are among the first 300 settlers that came from earth hoping for better life on Xavren All the settlers have been promised so much by the Intergalactic Colonist Association (ICA) they will be given new jobs, homes & everything they need to become successful new colonist. But they fast learn that that was a flat out lie by (ICA)
But Lil does anyone know that they’ve been also promised to Brotak’s clan, so they can repopulate their endangered species
Where to start, she lived a shelter life at religious compound with her family …. He basically lives in the caves of Xavren with no females… these two pretty much fumbling around in the dark together
And lord the lack of communication on the simple is things Marion is the beacon of hope that Brotak’s clan has been searching for…. What mess that Marion & Brotak had when came to them mating neither had clue what the heck they were doing!
So by this point, I’m remembering what Lorraine said ‘She tamed him in the end, but those earlier sex scenes left a bad taste in my mouth. I won’t be reading any more in this Series.” I’d have agree with Lorraine
📚 Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion+ Also I wouldn’t never discourage anyone from reading this book.Happy Reading --- Enjoy …….
The idea of the world was interesting to me. It was just different enough from other alien based series to get my attention. I would say the first 35% of the book was good for me. Then Brotak comes across and takes Marion.....this is where I begin to have a change of heart.
At first, Marion comes off as a strong, intelligent woman who had to make some tough decisions for herself and her sisters (one is a close friend but is referred to as a sister). Her decisions at this point I respected and felt were wise. Then she is taken by Brotak and literally all intelligence flies out the door. She is immediately complacent. She marries him the very next day without any argument. Not only this but she literally gets on all fours and lets him take her in the quickest sexual encounter I have ever read..... Oh did I mention she is a virgin and knows absolutely nothing about sex. Does not even know how to give herself the big O.... He shows ZERO concern for her. Even after his 30 seconds of pleasure and seeing all the blood he leaves her. Yep you read it right Elvis left the building. Granted he sent in a healer but COME ON!!
Some may argue that since Brotak himself was a virgin this act should be overlooked. I call BS on this. Anyone with an ounce of sympathy would have at the very least stayed to make sure there "mate" was ok. Now, this hit it and quit it goes another few rounds before things spice up. Marion doesn't even enjoy it or have an orgasm until the third or fourth time.
This for me just didn't scream romance.
Happy reading, DD

This didn't hit the mark at all. It wasn't romantic, it was kinda tragic. I mean sure by the end they declared eternal love blah blah, but until that point the male lead treated the heroine like a prostitute. I felt kinda disgusted with their dynamic and his overall attitude and actions. Maybe i'll read the next one.
My first thought is.........this is a book your grandma would be happy to read 😉 Marion and Brotak are both virgins, so the sex is really good........not 😂 It does get steamier, but not until 2/3 way through. But the story is interesting, the book well written, which is why I kept reading it. Will I read another in the series? Maybe.....
This is an absolutely amazing start to a new series & it certainly grabbed my attention within the first few pages. The storyline has a good world building with excellent scene descriptions & I found the plot to be highly intriguing & quite adventurous with a “expect the unexpected” undertone. The two main characters (a not so very impressed human female, Marion) & (a clan leader & alien barbarian, Brotak) are actually quite strong-willed individuals & after some trials & tribulations, the attractions flared & they grow closer to each other. There is good support from the secondary characters. There is: Marion’s siblings (Lana & Diana), colonies, an alien planet (Xarven), alliances, a conniving council, various clans, humans, aliens, friendship, adventure, action, intriguing, drama, deceit, betrayal, strange creatures, danger, threats, violence, conflict, devious plans, abduction, vengeful feelings, strange ceremonies, some brutality, vulnerability, attractions, compromises, steamy scenes, surprises, contentment, love & a well-deserved satisfying conclusion with a interesting ending.
I hate it. Ive wanted to throw this book in anger many times. Im half way through and frankly its been hard enough to get this far. My teeth hurt from clenching my jaw. I feel like yelling.
Like this is the biggest joke of a book ive read.
Theres so much wrong that i dont even know how to explain it let alone coherently im that frustrated and upset.
First of all trigger warnings. Use them. You cant go overkill on them. This book had none. NONE. not even a general this book involves darker themes or may be upsetting to some people etc warning.
So i love alien mate sorta books this isnt that. They arent mates in the fated soulmate kind of way youd expect from mate books and not even in the shifter sense in the scent department or any sort of respectful nice way that doesnt involve fated magic type stuff. Like this is literally a book ABOUT SEX TRAFFICKING.
I love barbarian type books this also isnt that. Read ruby dixion or the like if you want good barbarian books or even medieval esque laird fantasy series if you want actual good things in regards to barbarian macho sorta warrior vibes. THIS AINT IT. THIS POS is what fuckwit abusive toxic arse males think being a man is. Aka women are property womrn are there for their enjoyment and exist for them and are basically a sex doll servant etc rolled into one.
Theres so much wrong and i just im so beyond angry im almost to the point of hysterically laughing.
Like idk what the fuck the author was smoking. I can only hope she was aiming for naive or ignorant alien primitive society vibes and failed spectacularly. Because ive read books where theres literally doesnt have the physical capacity to understand language time travel trash smut cavemen books who have more respect and care than this cunt of a male does and basically the entire society.
And this prick ugh im i swear i cant even think im so pissed. Like if the bastard appeared in front of me flesh and all i would 100% not even remotely hesistate to slit his throat.
Like i swear to god whoever read this and thought yes this is good needs there head checked. Im not kidding im worried about your relationships .
And the chick is a fucking idiot. Granted she grew up in a fucked up cult basically so she has the excuse of being a bit of a victim and dumbarse. She still pisses me off immensely but her behaviour has genuine valid reason behind it. Infuriating as it is. Granted those reasons are stokholm syndrome and abuse victim etc but hey.
So the story so far. Its not a mars needs women trope or a matriarchal society or even a we revere women society or advanced in any way and certainly seems more like human men who are lawless wild west evil types who rape women because they can and kill because they can and dont care and are monsters who need to be put down vs literal clans of the past or cavemen primitive types who absolutely wouldnt allow such shit to occur.
The fact is theres old women but they go along with the abuse and aid it. Sounds like that french chick and epstein basically. They keep her in the dark they basically say your sisters will die without our help but well only help them if you spread your legs and give me a baby. So not only is unwittingly sex trafficked by aliens who then knock her out leave her for dead in the woods and then get kidnapped by different aliens who arranged for the sex trafficking in exchange for land for the other aliens so women are literally property and they dont cre because they arent theyre people but humans(legal aliens) sounds like earth no? And they drag her back to literal cave system where they force her to do some fucked up mating ceremony where he shoves his fingers into her vagina in front of the entire clan and then after that brutally rapes her who is a virgin and basically a child like bruises blood etc ruts her like a savage animal. And no not is a trashy smut kink and yet still respectful way but in a literally raping her and then when shes crying afterward he leaves and basically avoids her for days. He sends in some old bitch to care for her but shes all enabling the abuse and like boys will be boys and youre basically a walking womb who cares about the rest and itll hurt for a few days but then it wont and maybe hell be better etc bs. Like really pyschological toxic manipulation bs. And i just if that wasnt bad enough he controls who sees her who she sees even the women and literally hs her sit in his personal cave alone for days doesnt give her food doesnt talk to her at all this entire time theyve basically had no coversations just him spouting orders or threats. And fuck if that wasnt enough he says crude shit to his clan treating her like a sex doll even to them so shes not seen as a person just a piece of meat and i just theres heaps more basically this entire fucking book like manhandling her raping her abusing her mentally too like neglect like kidnapping like soooo much like putting the humans in a situation where theyll die if they dont rely on you aka trapping them to be at your mercy and manipulate that like i cant i genuinely have never wanted to write a scathing fucking email to an author before but damn if i dont want to now and be like WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU YOU SHITTY PERSON.
Like stay away from this author from this book and series. From books like this. Like majority of books in the barbarian or alien mate genre are 1000% times better. Like i wouldnt shit on this id burn it but it using it to wipe my arse would feel like violating and id need to shower after from the skeevy feeling.
DONT READ IT. FOR YOU OWN HEALTH AND SAFETY. LIKE GENUINELY this is some rape fetish shit id expect an incel to write about on some fucked up women are whores and should be mens property again forum. Like this deserves to be in the fiery pits of hell no for eternity.
No stars do not pass go do not collect 200 dollars straight to jail dumpster fire cancer of a book.
This was decent but lacked a lot. It had a good storyline buttt it was just flat. Had a little dub-con vibe as H take the h but it’s more like neither of them know what to do, he just knows he’s suppose to get her preg and she just turns around for it not really any prep involved. Idk this was just shallow and idk why I kept reading it lol probably bc I’m slumping and I just wanted something to read. I’ll try the next to see if the writing is better but not sure it will.
Just Meh. The H had a good heart and wanted to do what was right, but he was kinda just blindly stumbling along. He tried to be a good leader but didn't know what to do. He tried to be a good mate, but was clueless when it came to the bedroom. Those scenes were just painful to read. (He did finally figure things out after the h gets advice from a more experienced woman to tell them what to do).
⚔️ “Even if I don't know how to tell her how she makes me feel inside, I’ll fight for her until my last breath because she means that much.” ~~~ It’s such a great start of the series! I love this new world and the barbarian clan.
I really liked Marion. She’s kind and will do anything to protect her sisters. I loved how she deals with the difficult situations she’s facing and how she became stronger and more confident with each page.
Brotak is very honorable, strong and protective. After the tragedy that struck his clan, he’s determined to make things better.
Their relationship is not of the “we saw each other and everything is rainbows and butterflies now” kind. It started quite darkly and I felt really sad for Marion in the beginning, but with the development of the story, it grew into something real. With patience, compromise and communication they grew and built something great. And I loved that.
The story is filled with a lot of action, battles, danger, drama and romance. And I loved every page of it!
In this story, three sisters, Marion, Lana, and Diana, believe the promises of the Intergalactic Colonist Association (ICA) and head to the planet Xavren to begin a new life, a new job, and the adventure of starting out fresh on another planet. It sounded good on paper that they would be the founding members of the human colony there. But there is always “fine print”, and there was much that they were not told. This is the story of Marion’s experience on this new world, after they sneaked through the fence on Earth’s compound and ran through the cornfields to escape to the ship that brought them here. It’s already snowing here, but they know it could be worse. The snow vehicles are very fast, but they still won’t get to their destination until dark. They finally stop in front of gigantic walls in the middle of nowhere and step out to their new lives.
Brotak is the barbarian leader of his clan; Dhacar is his trusted second in command. Their females and children had been killed off in an attack, and if they cannot find mates to replenish their population, they will die out. So Brotak makes a deal with the deceitful and greedy Xavren Council exchanging their land for women. As they wait for the first women to arrive, a storm is coming. When the women arrive, Brotak is told they were not delivered to the caves where they would be protected, but were left at the old fortress where they are exposed and vulnerable. Only Chorlo and a few other guards remain there and the other council members returned to the city. Brotak tells his warriors they will need to prepare food and take supplies and firewood to them at the fortress since there is nothing there for them. Do they have common sense to stay inside the fortress? The night dangers are always present and they have no way to defend themselves. That’s why even the warriors stay in their caves after dark. Is it possibly not greed that Tangrux is supplying these women? Could he be using them as bait to keep the dreaded drattur (flying dragons) away from the cities?
Everyone in the fortress is cold. The small amount of firewood was grabbed by others and the wind is strong, blowing down the tents they try to put up. Marion asks a guard to show her where more wood is, but he says they cannot go outside the walls after dark. Another guard gets her alone and says he will show her; they won’t know they have even left. Then he leads her into the woods and tells her he hopes the barbarians find her in time before she freezes as he slams his fist into her face knocking her unconscious.
When Brotak’s beast, Vultos, catches a scent and veers off the course to the fortress, Brotak finds Marion unconscious in the snow in the forest, he wraps her in furs and takes her to the warm caves where he will claim her as his own. Has she been injured? Can he get her to warmth and help her? They will both have many “first” experiences to learn from. Life is not going to be easy. Will they fall in love? Will he keep her safe? And will they be able to rescue her sisters?
Marion and her sisters escaped an overly sheltered life on their home planet to go to a new planet to start a new life. They were promised jobs and shelter until they could provide for themselves. When they arrive, it seems that the promises were lies. They were herded on a truck and taken to a cold bare fortress. Very few supplies were given and they had only flimsy tents for shelter. There wasn't even enough fire wood to keep them warm. Marion convinces a guard to take her outside the fortress to get more wood, While they are out there, the guard punches her in the head and leaves her in the snow. She wakes up in an underground cave room with a strange alien watching her. He informs her that she will become his mate. Marion is not happy but goes along with it once he promises he will watch out for her sisters and provide for them.
Brotak's people are considered barbarians but they do have unused land. When the people on the planet decides to provide a place for humans to settle in return for lots of money, they make a deal with Brotak. Years ago most of Brotek's clan were taken by dragon-like creatures, leaving behind a bunch of warriors and a few older women. Brotak agrees to let the humans use their land in return for being given a woman every three months so their clan can continue. He is very angry when he sees how the humans are being treated and especially how Marion's life was endangered. When this arrangement was first decided, Brotak wasn't planning on taking an Earth woman for himself but one glimpse of Marion changed his mind. He wants to claim her a his no matter what. Too bad he has no clue how to handle females.

This was the start of a new series by an amazing author, and she has left me satisfied once again. The amount of passion, mixed with the unknown of what lies ahead for these characters, will quickly draw your attention in and not let you go until the end.
Marion and her sisters are trying to get away from an unfortunate home life and board a ship to begin their new life. What Marion wasn’t expecting was to wind up with the barbarians leader, Brotak. When she ends up being mated with Brotak, never had been with a man before, she feels as though she is back in the same situation she had escaped from.
Brotak is the leader of his clan, still suffering the loss of his people a short time ago, forcing him to join an alliance with another clan, accepting a human woman for breeding purposes. He never expected to find one laying in the snow, nor did he ever expect to grow feelings for her, but his naiveness and inexperience contributes to him falling for this beautiful, human woman.
Marion and Brotak learn each other together for their first sexual encounters. There so much passion, sexual intimacy, and desire between these two characters, especially after they learn more about the other, learning how to bring pleasure to the other. Luna will leave you with feelings of fulfillment and yearning for the next book!!

I read the blurb tease for this book and wanted to read this book. Anyways, three sisters leave earth for Xavren. Thinking they will have a better job and better lifestyle on this different planet. But, they are not told the entire truth about their new alien surroundings and people. What can go wrong right?
Brotak and his clan of brothers are promised a new young female to help generate new generations. That they would get one or 2 more females every few months. But, who would get who? Also, will other clans require this as well? Anyways, I am glad I found this ARC to help me get out of my reading slump. I'm excited to read this new series. This is a standalone and no cliffhangers. There is action and a slow romance growing between Marion and Brotak. I liked this story and will wait to read the next couple.
You know I am realizing I'm a horrible reviewer. I'm letting my thoughts run together. Anyways, I'm just say Brotak and his clan members live a honorable life. They had surived a huge tragedy several years ago about how their females and young were killed by dragons. Almost wiping out their entire clan. But, there are few females left, but they are older and not able to bare children anymore. So, Brotak and his brothers need young females to help grow a new generation. Then enters Marion and her sisters and group of men and women to this new planet. If you like strong alpha-ness with action, then you'll like this book.
DNF @ 37% the racism against Native Americans in this is… pronounced. 🤢🤨 The word savages gets used repeatedly in context of a hunter gatherer society that trades with the “humans” in possession of high tech crafts and weaponry who live in a fortress on the edge of their territory and need to trade for resources. (Dude even says that he doesn’t want the humans to think of them as savages!!!) Naturally, a human woman is what’s on offer and she’s required to give it up to the leader of the people in exchange for the protection of her sisters and because otherwise some other poor woman would have to go through it. Well that’s what she understands is happening in terms of an exchange. The human males in charge of the operation have just handed her over in exchange for protection and food etc. there will be another woman every three months as long as things go well. Then of course she’s forced to endure his giant member and hope for the best. Meanwhile the uncommunicative MMC just expects this of her and goes about trying his best and feeling bad about her not having a good time and the blood and pain but isn’t sure what to do about it and toxic masculinity along with societal expectations have hamstrung him into keeping him from pleasuring her. That’s the gist of what I’ve picked up so far. Which is more than enough, thanks. Racism, coerced unrewarding sex, a not particularly engaging or believable story line or characters for that matter.
So...this was...ok? There wasn’t much emotion throughout the book. The main characters were terrible at communicating with each other about ANYTHING. They were both virgins and completely uneducated about sex, so the intimacy was atrocious. The first time was cringe worthy and almost traumatizing. They got a bit better after a while, but that start really made the rest feel less enjoyable somehow. I don’t know. We get bits and pieces of the characters lives and personalities but mostly it’s just Brotak being a complete jackass, withholding his emotions and not spending more than however long it takes to get his rocks off before bed with Marion. And Marion being too timid and unsure of her footing in the clan, plus having her sisters’s protection hang over her head the whole time, making her feel like she can’t speak up for herself without it effecting the two people she cares most about. The ending was anticlimactic. The middle was frustrating and made me angry on Marion’s behalf at times. And the beginning was jarring, starting after they get to the new planet but being completely vague about how or why they were there. Then to top it off, the ‘aliens’ weren’t alien like at all. Overall I’m just left wondering why I read this at all. It didn’t deliver on any of the things I was hoping for in any kind of satisfying way.
This book was from an author I haven't read from yet. It was an easy flowing story, but I just felt like it was lacking something. The "relationship" seemed non-existent. The MFC says something about being a pet and honestly that's how this whole book felt. She ate his food. Slept in his quarters. Obeyed him without question. And did everything he said... she was basically a house cat he could have sex with. I honestly didn't feel any love between them even at the end.. only a sense of responsibility and duty.
I know it's the "first in a series rules" to lay the groundwork of the future plot and worldbuilding as well as introduce characters. I didn't understand why Brotak waited until zero hour before rescuing the humans. I get the alliance and keeping up appearances. First he and his brethren didn't trust the council and were suspicious of the preparedness of the fortress the humans were coming to stay. Second, he and his men KNEW how undefendable that place was from the flying creatures because his people suffered huge losses there before. Instead you wait until the flying creatures are already on their way before you think to save them.
The abduction bit wasn't very exciting and then the rescue of the humans at the fortress then the end. Just not for me.. maybe someone else will enjoy it.
This is the story of 3 earth sisters that went to another planet to get a better life. They decided to leave earth and be colonist of this new planet when they get promise that all their needs and a job were waiting for them in this new place. This is the story of the older sister Marion. She get promised to one of the barbarians (Brotak) He is the chief of the tribe that lives in the caves that are situated in the mountains. His tribe was in need of women because they got attacked by this creatures that kill almost all the women and children. This is a fast pace story, with action and adventure. Here it comes the part I don't like, I understand that The hero didn't have experience and ,even my self found sometimes rolling my eyes, when the hero is a virgin but still give a stellar performance in bed, but in this story it was to close to rape to my comfort. I didn't like some of the things that he did to the heroine. I really didn't like him much but at least he change and with all the things that happened he turns around and gets more mature. In this book we get the full story of Marion and we have an introduction to the next story ( Lana's story)

What can I say? Luna Kingsley has brought another brilliant series to the pages of my kindle again. I absolutely love the way she brings her characters alive and how her stories drag you into whatever adventures are happening there. I love Brotak and Marion’s story, how Marion brings her two sisters from Earth to Xavren so they can have a better life, but then she is taken from the new fortress and left to be found by the barbarians.
Brotak is his clans leader and finds Marion unconscious in the snow in the forest and once he sees her, he claims her as his own. But the adventures don’t stop there what follows is action in an epic way that will have you anxiously reading until you find out what happens. I love how they find their love for each other and grow closer until they are happy. They eventually go back to the fortress and rescue her two sisters and take then to the mountains to live with Marion. I can’t wait to read the next story in the series Fierce Alien which tells of Lana and Dhacar’s journey.

Marion is seeking a better life for her younger sister Lana and their friend Diana when they escape Earth and travel to the planet Xavren. They are a part of the first human settlement on the planet. She's hopeful but cautious about this new adventure. (With good reason as there are things she hasn't been told about the purpose of humans on this planet.) Brotak is the leader of his people. He has the responsibility of securing their future by providing heirs. Will he be able to convince Marion that he is the right choice for her or will Marion be escaping another unacceptable situation? Told in dual POV, there are good world-building details, good plot with danger, suspense, politics and themes of honor & protection. There is realism in how Brotak treats Marion at first. He cares about Marion but communication is not his strong suit and his focus is on his needs. I like how she teaches him that talking to each other can bring them both satisfaction and a richer relationship. An entertaining weekend read!

I totally enjoyed reading this ARC the first in a series of Barbarian Clans of Xavren. This story is about Marion and Brotak. Three sisters - Marion, Lana, and Diana signed up with of the Intergalactic Colonist Association (ICA) to start a new life on the planet Xavren. The ICA told them they will start a new colony on the planet. When they land it's wintertime and snowing and they are escorted to a abandon fortress with little supplies. When Marion asks a native to get more firewood, he takes her outside and knocks her out. Meanwhile Brotak concern about the visitors goes to the fortress with supplies and finds Marion in the snow and takes her back to the caves of his people. Marion finds out the true reason they're on the planet when Brotak tells her why he won't return her back at the fortress. Will Marion and Brotak settle their differences and become a couple? I liked the details of the planet Xavern, the characters, and the action in this engaging story. I volunteer to read and review this ARC via Booksprout.
2 stars Tbh, I don’t get it. I think the story was good, plot twists were good, and the general idea was GOOD. A story in which the female lead DOESN’T get off the first time? Where double virgins actually struggle a bit to get the sexy on? Love it! But I’m gonna be honest—160 pages WAS NOT enough. I could feel a little bit of the chemistry between the two characters, but the lack of time and honest relationship building was depressing as hell. Maybe I could have understood it if it was insta-love, but it wasn’t. So it went something like “woah this girl is hot” to “I like fucking her” to “I’m in love”?? And they spent about 24 hours total with each other where they weren’t having sex or sleeping? And ESPECIALLY because what they talked about was more small talk and world building than getting to know each other! It completely bamboozled me when they traded “I love you”s, because I was wondering—where did that come from? Basically, I’m confused and dissatisfied. This could have been so great—but I think I just had to be longer if it was going at the pace the author set.
Marion has come to Xavren with her sisters hoping for a fresh start they've been promised things by the government but when she gets there she learns what she is expected to do. Life on Earth was terrible but with Barbarian clans political lies and darkness and danger from the skies not to mention the bitter cold the last thing she expected was love and a Mate Brotax.
Brotax and his Scargad clan don't have allot they need women if there tribe is to continue its either marry into another tribe or take a human for mate . Then he sees Marion and he has to have her. Both Marion and Brotax have allot of fears to get over and allot to learn about each other. I liked the natural progression of the book the difference in culture you could almost see the places the author described. Will definitely read the next book in series.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
... "waiting for the result of my choices to reveal itself to us."
Marion knew she and her sisters had to get away from the colony they were living in on Earth. She thought she found a good option, with accommodations and a promise of jobs... but so often things sound too good to be true.
Brotak doesn't trust the council, or any of the city dwellers, but desperate times call for desperate agreements. He has no idea how the council plans to live up to their end, but the more he sees of the situation, the more concerned he gets.
This done in one Kindle Unlimited quick read features two characters who tend to take responsibility for others, Brotak as leader of his clan, Marion from being eldest sister, and finding her in a position where she can speak for others. Yet each has spent so much time protecting and helping others that they are only now learning to truly speak for themselves.
Where do I even begin?! What a fantastic start to a great, new series! The development of the two main characters, Brotak and Marion, was indepth and very well written. I loved seeing Marion grow throughout the story, into a strong mate for Brotak. I especially enjoyed that Brotak recognized that he wasnt doing something right with the way he handled Marion, but worked to be a better, affectionate mate for her.
This book showcased all my favorite things about this author's stories: great world building, beautiful characters, a unique storyline, and just enough suspense to keep you hooked, but not too much that you dread what's gonna happen.
This book knocked it out of park! I can't wait for Lana and Dhacar's story next!

In the first book of the 'Barbarian Clans of Xavren' series by Luna Kingsley, Marion and her sister venture into an unknown world, namely the planet Xavren. Lured there under false promises, Marion soon finds out that completely new and unexpected challenges await on the alien planet ...
Brotak and Marion really have a difficult start in their new life together. Because at the beginning neither of them know how to communicate with each other and share their expectations, fears and longings. That was described really well and believably by the author and I was excited about both main characters. The story just got better and I really enjoyed reading it. I think the book is a really good start to the series and I'm looking forward to Lana and Dhacar's story in the next book!

While I like this authors Ro'hilian Warriors series, I am not as obsessed with this story. It has all of the action, adventure, and smexy, but the author has definitely managed to capture the barbarian world building and you feel like you have been transported backwards into the time of cave people. I admit,...that I am a bit spoiled and expected at least a little tech. She truly captured a non tech world, the brooding, rough handling of the main female character. I could imagine the chill and dark of the caves. Thank goodness she found her voice and was fiesty. I am going to check out the next book in the series because, I just have to know what happens next. Pick up your copy you will be drawn into this wild, untamed world too. SL Thomson Who She Reads
This is the first in the series and a lovely story to enjoy. It is the oldest of 3 sisters who are free finally from a life of misery and potential harm. Marion, Lana and Diana. This 1st book is Marion' s story, of being rescued and bonded. Brotak finds Marion unconcious in the snow and despite how he feels about her, he has no experience with women. They are often at each other until time allows them to really come together. There are many events that lead to the rescue of her sisters and some other members of the fort. Tense and emotional moments before all are back in the safety of the mountain. It is a happy ending for these two and with a little extra surprise, so you have to read to find out more. Then read the rest of the series as it unfolds. :)
Marion, Lana, and Diana have traveled to the planet Xavren for a new start. The have been promised by the Intergalactic Colonist Association (ICA) they will be given new jobs, homes and everything they need to become successful new colonist. Brotak is the barbarian leader of his clan and has given up good fertile land to the ICA in exchange for a female every three months for his tribe. Most of the females and children had been killed off in an attack by flying dragons. What Marion does not know is that she is the one chosen to be given to Brotak’s clan. Both of the main characters had to grow up some to develop a relationship. There is action, adventure and an HEA ending.

Marion boards the ship bound for a new settlement in hope her and her sisters can get jobs to take care of themselves. Instead Marion is offered up to Brotak as an offering and mate.
What did I like? As far as alien romance goes this was enjoyable read. Brotak was a virgin and unable to really pleasure Marion liked she deserved at first but after a few pointers they seemed to work well with each other. The story line was engaging and the next book looks equally great!
Would I recommend or buy? Alien romance seems to be a big genre and this was one of the better ones that I have read. I’d recommend and definitely the blurb would have had me buying a copy.
