The Crusader: How Modi Won 2019 Elections

Rate this book
After the mammoth victory in 2014 elections, as Modi geared up for executing his transformation agendas, Rahul initiated a spirited attack from the opposition. Many sworn enemies join hands to launch concerted attempts at damaging Modi's image. These efforts eventually made some headway as Modi lost key by-polls and crucial state elections in 2018. However, his x-factor remained intact, further bolstered by dramatic turn of events closer to 2019 elections, testing him to the hilt. This book takes you through the moves and counter moves that led to Modi's victory, and also answers the ever-eluding question in politics— How to win the trust of people? It identifies key leadership traits and does a comparative analysis between Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi and resultantly, between BJP and Congress. The Crusader is a well-researched and informative account of how Modi won the election battle in 2019, and how he continues to fight the war for the idea of a new India.

KNOW THE AUTHOR:
To better understand this book we need to know a bit about the author himself. The Author of this book "The Crusader" is Randeep Sisodia, who is a management Graduate from Punjab University, currently working as a Leadership Coach & Management Consultant. He is backed by more than two decades of corporate experience in areas of Human Resources, Strategy, Government Affairs and Public Policy.

KNOW THE BOOK:
The Crusader is a well-researched and informative account of how Modi won the election battle in 2019. How he managed to surpass every hurdle that came into his way to build his dream India.

REVIEW:
The main theme of this book is how Modi again won in 2019 election after the mammoth victory in 2014 elections. This book is an analytical view of his doings. The author has gone deep into his research to dig out the root causes of his victory where the author did a comparative analysis between Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi. By doing that he has laid down the bare facts and truth in several constructive chapters to make sense of the whole book. I'm not going into a political debate or who's best or something like that but this book drives you through the salient features or gives you the essence of how a politician wins the trust of people. The writing style is very good and comprehensive. However there are some missing facts and somewhat a biased view on a particular political party. In some parts I completely disagree with the author. Like in Demonetisation the author said, people trusted Modi on this. But I would rather say people were left with no other choices. Then again this book has no mention of what the masses actually want, what was their view on Modi's decision and etc.

I've gone through this book with utter attention and after thoroughly reading this I've come to this conclusion that even though the book is biased, I can't deny the true facts visible before my eyes. Still I would like to read more books on this topic to understand the other side of the coin because drawing conclusion on the basis of just one book would be unfair.

As I am in quarantine due to Covid, I decided to take few serious reads now. The first book I took was about our Prime minister Modi Ji. The name is "The Crusader: How Modi Won 2019 Elections" by Randeep Sisodia. I had read how he won the 2014 election, so it was obvious I would read this book as well.

Before I start I would like to tell readers that the book is short and full of details and strategies. The total length of the book is 199 pages. Having said that book is the result of detailed research.

The author has started with the history of why there came a group of extreme power people (he called them Darbari) into existence, who were more worried about not repeating Modi as PM. The way the author explained why this group hated Modi so much is eye-opening. Here author explained it was not the plan of political parties to have Mahagathabandha but this group. They planned to bleed Modi in 1000 small cuts. I liked the way in further chapters the Author explained how his leadership and willingness to improve India as a nation made him victor once again in 2019.

The book is a must-read for not only Modi supporters but also for those who wanted to explore politics as a career. It can also help people in their domain of leadership. I like the smooth and simple narration style of the author. I like the way every comparison or example gives us an exact idea of the context. Even if you are not interested in politics, you can enjoy this book.

I will give 4.25 out of 5 to this book.

Have you ever wondered about things from an all dimensional aspect?

Living in a communist state like Kerala, we are always made to believe and live against what Central government brings up. The rallies, hartals, riots etc always makes me think about the other side of the coin. This book gives you a total account of what NaMo Government did, when, why and how.

The book covers the aspects on why and how NaMo government won in 2019 election. It starts from the basic idea of breaking the order that existed in Indian politics to making the nation not perfect, but working to make it harmonious.

Indeed the book gives real information about the facts and figures. The exciting part of the book is the reasoning given in the book for each rumour, criticism in the most flawless manner. An author like Randeep Sisodia writing such a book itself is convincing as he himself is a management and leadership coach who has greater taste in Indian Politics by his presence and observation.

What I liked most about the book is the protrayal of Modiji's courage in the most subtle and powerful manner. I do admire people who are vested huge responsibilities and this book made me believe more in the leadership power that Modiji has along with delving deep into the psychology of a successful leader who has learned a lot from his past/history.

History not being my choice of read is the only part that felt a bit dull but overall discovering or may be assuring some facts about the history was indeed fascinating to me.

People who have great intrest in Indian Politics and Indian Political history along with readers who would like to know how a ruling party tries hard to give their best to their nation can obviously go for this book without a second thought!

If there is anyone in the highly rich political history of India against whom everyone has conspired together without getting the taste of success is Modi ji. The kind of godly figure he is, with such a selfless disposition, a relentless quest for the betterment of humanity and with a single minded focus to revoke the status of our nation as the Golden Bird which it was fondly known as once, this book boasts of everything which will make even the hate mongrels reflect a bit on their own biased and brainwashed ideologies.

'The Crusader' is not just a book but an emotion in itself. It is an amalgamation of crude facts and raw data and stare right on the face of people who just consolidate on every opportunity to blame such a dynamic leader. It talks mainly about how after a gigantic victory in 2014, continuing the immense ground work, constant dedication and nationalist ideas, Modi ji bettered his own record in 2019. Be it the implementation of GST and CAA/NRC or the mature handling of Kashmir issue or the pure intentions behind demonetization, the book supports every single research with enough evidences unlike the propagandist work by the opposition.

The most noteworthy point about this exemplary masterpiece is its completely unbiased nature and the unique portrayal of everything in a logical and reasonable manner without being opinionated about anything. The contribution of RSS which is no less than Indian Army in their resilience, defiance and tenacity is also beautifully captured. The cover is the best anyone could have thought of with one of the most powerful picture of Modi ji complementing his mass appeal. Also the impeccable narration of author is like a cherry on the cake and is extremely streamlined.

A must read for all the sensible beings out there and also for those who just label staunch supporters of the greatest PM ever as 'Bhakt' forgetting a simple fact, that calling someone a disciple is like a token of appreciation as bhakts are of GOD only and its way better than being a slave of a direction less and aimless party or a leader or an idea for that matter.

A many-sided and enthusing record of the 2019 general decisions and many state races somewhere in the range of 2014 and 2019.

The book gives a miniature record of how Modi-Shah team cut out the BJP juggernaut, through an unmatched political race apparatus, and repeated Indian political field into another 'one-party framework'. It features why and how other significant gatherings including INC were abandoned in 21st century profoundly serious governmental issues.

In any case, shockingly, it passes up enumerating political and constituent happenings of the outskirts - ascent of BJP in North East, for example, Arunachal Pradesh and the failure of BJP to infiltrate Southern shell. It doesn't contain data on what went behind choice of Presidential and Vice-Presidential applicants in 2017. Other significant state races/governmental issues generally missed include: Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha.

All things considered, for trying lawmakers, it gives an electing play book (rules and regulations - both great and awful - for electing achievement). For those keen on Indian decisions, the book gives a definite image of political activities in the background, normally not seen in media. The measurements in the Appendix give a clear grain to ideological groups and political researchers to brood over.

Independent of philosophical tendencies and needs, the individuals who appreciate Rajdeep Sardesai ji's appointive inclusion will cherish this book much more. The book mirrors his propensity for inclusion of constituent legislative issues and his endeavors in cautious chronicling of political and electing occasions.

In general an exceptionally incredible read :) For me, it made an anxious hang tight for the following one in the arrangement, clearly booked for 2024.

A highly insightful and extremely well written book. Finished it in 4 days.

This book not only focuses on what makes Modi ji so endearing to the Indian citizens but actually provides a deep view on various topics such as

- why is the Congress party fading into obsolescence
- how the Congress party is setup not to serve a political ideology but to serve a dynasty
- how did BJP basing iteself on the principles of integral humanism and Antyodaya has been able to capture the imagination of the nation
- how in the name of secularism many political parties have just done appeasement politics
- how the Khan Market Gang and Lutyens' Media had tried to attack Modi ji so viscerally in his early days as PM, not only do they draw their power from the Congress leadership, but Modi ji's attempt to provide clean and transparent governance to the nation was making them irrelevant
- how instead of focusing on divisive politics by focusing on good Governance and development politics BJP has won the hearts of the average citizen
- the shift in India's external policy under Modi ji's leadership, to not suffer in silence but to provide appropriate responses as needed to elements who want to destabilise our nation
- BJP's earnest attempt to bring back pride in Bharatyeeta and undo many wrongs of the past
- the contrast in attitudes of those at the top of BJP vs the opposition parties which leads to one being able to take people along even when they have absolute majority vs the leadership of Congress which even when facing electoral debacle after debacle remains in denial

One can argue with a couple of minor points in the book, but overall the narrative is highly insightful - how the country's psyche was influenced to think earlier that all good that happened in the country was only due to the Nehru Gandhi dynasty and why someone who is challenging that and is trying to bring the correct narrative to the forefront has to face needless distractions by people with vested narratives. But as they say, when someone is sincere, they change the stones thrown at them into milestones and this is what Modi ji and BJP have done.

A great read for anyone interested in Indian politics and societal development.

FAB - BOOK REVIEW OF "The Crusader: How Modi Won 2019 Elections" by Randeep Sisodia

Genre - Political

Rating - 4 /5

QOTD: A book that book you feel so content?

''The Crusader: How Modi Won 2019 Elections" is a very well researched book that just let you know about how much effort it takes to write a book and especially a book like that that represent the politics where one should be aware of the things that were happening to avoid any mistakes which further leads to some unnecessary drama. To be honest, I am rereading this book. I haven't posted anything related to this book on any platforms till now, to mention in the review.
.
This book is an eye-opener. This book is where it felt like the author has put each and every aspect in the book. This book's main aim is to let us know how Modi has won 2019electaions again in 2019 and because the Prime Minister of India and sat in the power chair again. And how Modi wants to develop this nation and help the people who are suffering from poverty. Basically, his strategy and all the activities or ideas he wants to make India a developed country. I have read this book carefully to make sure my opinion about this book doesn't change because it shouldn't be based on politics. If iI changed my opinion here, my opinion about those parties would also change. I know you might not get what I am saying but try to get it!
.
Though I really like the writing style, cover page, amazing content in the book, and very well researched content and especially when the author is comparing both Modi and another politician in the book where he explained each n every detail o clearly that you will just indulge in reading the book and just imagining all those incidents. I could say that this book is perfect.

The literal meaning of 'Crusader' is "campaign against a public evil". PM Modi has always said to destroy all the underlying evils of India and make it a Vishwa-Guru in the speeches, and the public address, and even in the manifesto. Now, without taking in my prejudices let's dive into the book by Randeep Sisodia and I'll try to keep it as unbiased as I can.

The overall theme of the book is how Mr. Narendra Modi managed to win over most of the seats in spite of a visible and loud partition between the right vs the left and the anti vs the pro. BJP is a well-established political party but it has regained its image and immense support since the 2014 election. This book talks about how it has been made possible.

The "Modi-Leher", the campaigns against corruption, demonetization, and every other strategy has been talked about and how it impacted the 2019 Elections. The comparison between the Congress way and the BJP/Modi way has been very descriptive. Well, obviously the book doesn't talk much about the negatives because it means to tell you how it managed to ignore all the propaganda and criticism to get to Parliament.

The author has used very well researched facts and statistic to describe why he chose certain topics and policies. He has also given his own opinions and hopes about what he wants India to be and how much of it can be accomplished.

Overall, this book is a good read for people who like to know about the polity or about India, in general. It's a good and comparatively shorter read to start your politics awareness.

Book review
THE CRUSADER
By Randeep Sisodia

The title goes well with the content of the book as the word crusader means the person who campaigns vigoursly for politics. Although I'm not into political reads and I barely share my opinions about politics because it can eventually end up hurting sentiments of many people. But first time I tried my hand out at a political read. Developing people's interest in a political read in the most non controversial manner is really a big task and I'd applaud the author for this.

From the political point of view this book is well researched, well written with facts and theories and covers varies topics from past as well. Reading this sometimes I felt that it was too much of modi centered and other people's thoughts and opinions were not given much importance.
It indeed tells us how to win people's trust and tackle the opposition in the most effective manner and hence it is best for youngsters who wish to join and learn politics. Anyone ( modi supporter or not) interested in politics can read this cuz studying the working of modi government eventually gives us knowledge about how politics work.

How to win the trust of the people?

Book name: The Crusader
"how Modi Won 2019 Elections"

Author name: Randeep Sisodia

The Crusader is a well researched and informative account of how Modi Won the election battle in 2019, and how he continues to fight the war for the idea of a New India.

A very deeply researched and thoughtful book. The things are so widely and wisely detailed and explained, that a reader would be astonished from so much of information ! In this book I have read some very rare and unique point of view of the narrator that I had to give thought to several things that went unnoticed by me, infact by a lot many of us.

The way politics and political agendas work and are made to work. The way political parties present themselves and their representatives to the public to grab votes and influence people is beyond what a citizen can look towards.

Several facts and truths has been revealed. I quite liked the thoughts of the author, narration has been done smoothly, and in a very understandable way, a reader can easily see the clarity in his thoughts. But as we all have our own point of view and agree/disagree thing, so I too have mine, and I do not agree with the author fully though.

One should give this book a read. You will get to learn and understand some facts.

Just as the titles says, this book talks about how Modi won the 2019 elections inspite of all the hate from opposition parties and people of country.

What will you get to read in this book?
•1947 scenes and how Nehru was made the Prime Minister.
•Nehru Dynasty
•KMG / Lutyen's Media
•The Mahaghatbandhan
•How Modi emerged as a winner always, inspite of attacks from the opposition
•Rise of Yogi
•Media Politics
•Analysis between BJP & Congress
And so much more.........

Basically this book shows how Modi always emerges as the winner and how hard it is to beat A True Leader working for the good of the country.
The book is well researched and I was in awe of the content. Though non fiction, it didn't feel boring at all. In fact it was so thrilling and interesting. The pacing so lively and it was gripping all throughout. I feel such books should be made a part of school syllabus because textbooks always feed us with half truth and half lies. I found this book very informative and also got to learn so many new words. Though I am not much into politics I have enjoyed reading this.

The Crusader: How Modi Won 2019 Elections is both readable and revealing kind. This book is divided into four parts – Challenging the order, Dismantling the order, Battle to win Trust and War of for the Idea of India Continues. There is a whole lot to talk about this book as someone who is not much familiar with politics – and still is, in many ways, it is indeed a reminder though. Of how people miss noticing about the political propaganda and what it’s an actual ideology. I mean there should not be any gap, like literally a miles away!

When we talk about India and its Politics, it takes a way long road into the wild, instead of an easy path which will show some light to people that fulfils and works towards their betterment. While the narrative goes on stretching & distinguishing the history of the party and present scenario, the author combines the research tracing about PM, by preparing a comprehensive argument about how his moves and takes saves the day.

For every sentence, I read about the strategies and facts that how the ruling party won the elections, the author does an excellent job compiling the collective data of the opposition – of how it worked and hatches the plan towards their purpose - that eventually raised the ruling party to power. However! It would be glorifying if this speaks out loud of the welfare policies and schemes (that substantially works relatively in favour of people and of the promises by the party that said in the manifesto) that are actually reaching people without any loopholes, instead of larger corporations.

We are crawling between our needs and the ever-growing demands, but the author illustrates how the “Idea of India” looks like. And most importantly how do the state acts as an intermediary. My take? Read on to know why and how this book places its surprising perspectives. I am intrigued to know your thoughts.

'The Crusader' takes you on a journey of rise and fall, highs and lows, certainties, and troubles in the political career of Narendra Modi. The traits to become a successful politician is not an easy gain. Of course in a country like India, it's not effortless to have a stronghold over the public as people here comes from different cultural backgrounds and ethnicity. From the journey to taking oath as the position of Chief Minister of Gujarat to become the Prime of Minister of India twice, with a clean sweep victory Narendra Modi has achieved a lot as a politician. And it is this journey of his that the author narrates in his book 'The Crusader'.
.
Of course we all have different political ideologies but keeping that aside Randeep Sisodia has done amazing work in dealing with the subject matter of this book. He not only puts mere analysis, but also highlights his research findings about how Narendra Modi's works affected his career. Whether it was Gujrat Massacre, Rahul Gandhi's taunts or his first run for the Prime Minister seat he had to face a lot negativity, but apart from all that winning a clean victory is itself a great deal. The success of Narendra Modi as a politician can be very well observed by the replacement of the term 'BJP sarkar' to 'Modi Sarkar'. Though it's a little change, yet it does contribute a lot to his popularity. To all the people who admire our Prime Minister and supports him with whole heart I can assure you that you will love and enjoy reading this book. The language used in this book is lucid. It is well researched and for the people interested in politics and stuffs this book will definitely be informative.

The book covers all the aspects of 'Why' and' How' Narendra Modi won 2019 elections. The author @randeepsisodia has done very detailed fact and data collection which adds to our understanding of the then circumstances which paved a path for Modi's political success.

'The Crusader' takes you on Narendra Modi's journey of rise and fall, highs and lows, certainties and troubles of his political career. In a country like India with the world's second largest population, becoming a godly figure is not an easy gain.

The book is spread across 4 different sections:
☑ Challenging the Nehruvian order
☑Dismantling the order
☑Battle to win trust
☑War for the 'Idea of India continues'

Unbiased nature and the unique portrayal of the 'BJP sarkar', popularly known as ' Modi Sarkar', keeps the reader hooked from beginning till the end.

Anyone who wants to enlighten themselves with a little know how of politics, then this is the book to go. The blend of History and current politics, along with the description of political evolution from Nehruvian era till the current Modi Sarkar, makes the book unputdownable.

The crusader is a well researched book on Modi’s win during 2019 election.
It talks about Modi’s tactical plans , his vision, plan of actions and counteractive measures taken by opposition parties. It talks about all the important events that lead to Modi’s victory. The tactics used by political parties during elections is also talked about. It further entails a deep research on reasons why Modi is an ideal leader for our country and the differences between him and the opposition party leader, Rahul Gandhi.

This book to me seemed like one side of a coin. I found some facts missing and several mentioned instances biased. The whole act of Demonetisation and after effect was glorified while in reality we all know the public’s reaction to it and the actual good that came out of it.

Overall the writing style is smooth and easy to grab. You can definitely give it a read to learn about all the incidents and work undertaken by Narendra Modi that lead to his victory.

After the great victory of 2014 elections Modi again won the elections in 2019 so this book is all about how he won 2019 elections.

In this book author has given information about the main reason of winning and how he successfully win the trust of people and got votes again which shows author has researched very well and showed us the skills and leadership qualities of Modi.Throughout the book author has compared everything between Rahul Gandhi and Modi which felt little biased , talked about KMG ,what Rahul Gandhi is doing with him and why priyanka gandhi entered in the politics how media focused on them.

I agree with the author when he talked about legacy of Congress but couldn't agree with the demonetisation. While reading this book I felt it was justifying Modi as the author just showed positive sides but yeah there were so many facts I haven't noticed before so that was informative.

The Crusader, How Modi won the 2019 elections is an amazing read, well written by Randeep Sisodia depicting the true image of new or modern India. The book was so engrossing that I couldn't put it down. I finished it in one night. First of all, I would like to give a round of applause to the author for researching it so well and writing it down from a very fair point of view.

The book is suitable for both Anti Modi and pro-Modi. The author has highlighted the topic very well and the leadership skills perfectly portraying the image of New India. The language in which it is written is beginner-friendly. He took the most boring topic ever and made it interesting and engrossing. A good roundup for a political science student.

This book provides a rational view of how Modi won the 2019 elections. The way he earned people's trust and confidence.
Indeed, it is an adequately researched book where you get to know the substantial details and the insights of how a politician earns the trust of people. The writing style is very reasonable and inclusive.

Nonetheless, I would not say that it is the book of truth as it is also coming from a biased point of view towards one party. There are a few happenings where it is pretty noticeable that the author is favouring one party.

Thoroughly enjoyable and hugely readable book. Reflects the immense depth of experience and knowledge. Must read the book. Brilliant researched and fascinating book. if you are interested in politics you need to read this book.

Through 'The Crusader' the author talks about how PM won 2019 elections, the history, the journey and the strategies formulated so far. The content sounds well researched and extremely informative that it was too much for me to process initially since I have never stopped by this genre and hence it was my first pick in the same domain.

Evidently, a lot of background work has been done with statements backed with facts and figures that somewhere I couldn't absorb the enthusiasm of infused by the author. Well that's only because it was not entirely my cup of tea. But anyway its loaded with stuff to know hence worth investing your time.

This book covers the journey of BJP winning election for second time amidst all odds. The author had researched and discussed each point and highlighted the strong points of Modi Governments first term and how it played a major role in his second time win. The book talks at length about how opposition tried to attack his persona and weaken him but he came out rather strong.
The good step by Modi Governmeny and his policies are alo talked about at length.

The language is easy yet flawless. The narration is medium paced.
A well researched book !

Disclaimer - I love reading about politics, but I do not follow any politician blindly so whatever I am gonna write in the review is the author's perspective.

The real purpose of this book is to look beyond the debates on 'Darr lagta Hai', 'intolerance' and issues that only view things from a Hindu-Muslim binary.

The real purpose of this book is to search for the soul of India and rediscover the idea of India, the idea that a uniting factor in our unity in diversity.

Loved the hard work authour put into research about the whole topics covered in the book.
