Wow!! This one enters to my Top 5 Haye’s Books! It’s the perfect combination between sweet, funny and sexy!! I will be forever amazed by Emily’s ability to wrap a story so smoothly in less than 200 pages but besides that... The chemistry between MC, the flirting (oh my God the flirting), and the spice gives this book a bite, but I must confess that the banter between Lori and Dr. Foster was one of the things that I enjoyed the most hehe that professional, caring and funny relationship makes the story perfect! Like I said in my review from Surgeon this is a great Lesbian Grey’s Anatomy version!
She's My Patient (Forest Vale Hospital #4) I loved the flirty character of Anna. Lillian I can identify with her conundrum. Their situation could certainly happen. Attraction does not know the rules. It is well done. There are some parts I would have liked expanded. I was comfortable with the entire cast even the secondary characters. This one is for sure a keeper. I will give it 5 stars because it made me happy inside.
There are many things that I didn't understand about this book.
First of all, how eager was the author to emphasize that being 36 years old is too old to get pregnant. Look, I know after 35 things change but it was so intense and mentioned so many times that argh. I know that the publishing date of this book was two or three years ago but still it's not necessarily a constant in the day-to-day life, we have people in their late 40s having kids. In addition, I feel that in the queer community where having kids tends to be more complicated, this part of the story could affect some people badly.
In the other hand how, this relationship starts. Patient-doctor. But it's not any patient-doctor, it's a pregnant woman and her OB-GYN. In this particular story to rush everything doesn't work. Annabel, one of the main characters, gets too comfortable, too soon with the doctor (in less than 15 minutes in her first appointment), not to mention how awful she was with the receptionist.
I didn't enjoy at all when Annabel, tried to tempt/implied or basically lies to Lillian as follows “..seen a little bit of blood on my underwear” to get her to touch her.
Look, the story had a lot of potential if I could block what I described previously I would have enjoyed it way more.
I love both MCs, Lillian and Annabel have such great chemistry This is a fun, flirty and steamy read! My only complaint is I wish it was longer I could of read more of them!
A HOT quick easy read! You'll love Dr. Lillian Foster her assistant Lori and of course the other MC, Annabelle Lacey. Lillian is an OBGYN dr and Annabelle is her patient! Both just looking for no strings attached! 5 stars!!
5 stars. Hands down my favorite book I’ve read by Hayes. And I’ve read quite a few of her works. They don’t always hit for me but this one absolutely did. I loved everything about this one and I will for sure be rereading it.
The romance between Anna and Lillian was fantastic. Sexy, flirty, and the perfect amount of angst especially in the third act. I loved both characters a lot. Lillian is Anna’s OB and she only wants a casual fling. She doesn’t do relationships and only wants to focus on her career. Anna is about to be a mom and that woman knows how to go after what she wants. I loved how forward she was about flirting with Lillian. Great chemistry and banter between them and the sex scenes were smoking hot. The third act breakup and drama hurt but that ending and epilogue were fantastic. So precious. This is a book that I cannot wait to revisit and I’m sure I’ll be doing that soon enough. Loved it.
Annabel wants to be a mom and is ready. Lillian is the best OB Dr and the busiest Dr in her practise. She doesn't have time for relationships and casual is the best she can do. Naturally Annabel wants the best for her baby, so they meet and the connection is magnetic. The dialogue is sweet, flirty and well sexy. Dr Lillian tries to stay professional but lust gets the sweet friends with benifts started. It was a watershed moment as the baby grows their closeness becomes a connection neither would have expected. Emily ends the story with a cathartic moment and gives such a good story. I love her hospital stories. This was a fun hot read.
For anyone who has not read anything by Emily urgently needs to indulge and improve there lives. In this instance we have a question of medical ethics which are tested to the limits by a woman with a flair for being a tease and innuendo then you have the doctor who does not do relationships because of either being hurt in the past or knowing the importance of never crossing the medical ethic. In the end love breaks all rules with a tremendous HEA. And for me a chance to conclude the book with a smile on my face xx
Great Story and completely lovable characters, smooth flowing writing. I love the book. Try it and lose yourself temporarily from our current world woes. There are some hot sexy scenes so make sure you're ok with that and you won't be disappointed. Loved the free epilogue too. It's fun to peek in a few years later and see what Anna and Lillian are up to....and don't forget Blueberry!
What happens when you combine a commitment phobic OB GYN and a hormonal, pregnant woman? Well, you'll have to read to find out but the journey is cute, hot and sweet.
Lil and Anna come alive quickly and their love illuminates those around them. Disaster strikes, as can only be expected in a romance story, but their love is the best tool to pull them through - even if the cleverest doctor is the slowest to realise.
The Doctors Creed states Doctor and patient should remain separate. Of course when you have a single newly pregnant patient and a lonely OB/Gyn doctor sometimes the lines get blurred. Can they keep themselves separate or not except both of the ladies always get what they want. Nicely written story. Enjoy!
i loved the first 3rd of the book but the last part broke my heart i hate it when that happens, i did think the scene with the crib would be the end of friends with benefits, but i was wrong, there still tears to be shed untill the very end. ( i havn't read the epiloge or any of the other's as this author is the only one i have read who insist's on doing that)
This was a fast paced very sexy and hot story. The very hot doctor and the very hot younger patient. It had good dialogue between Annabelle and Lillian and a great connection. Emily Hayes is a master of these hot sexy and wonderful stories. This pairing definitely worked and could definitely see them in another book.
I’ve read all of Miss Hayes’ books. Have fully enjoyed them all. This was a really good love story. Not like a lot of books now-a-days. Editing was tight. Really loved this book.
I love this story. Specially the chemistry between Anna and Lillian they are so good together . That first appointment loved it. I couldn’t put down the book. Thanks Emily for this story.
Loved it. Especially the chemistry between the two MC and I love how Annabel kept coming on to Lilian. They are so sweet together and I loved every scene between them. I just wish it was longer. I could read a lot more of them together.
Lilian is Annabel's OB and get together even when it can get Lilian fired. They decided to keep it casual until it isn't.
Again with the "subscribe to my newsletter to download and read the epilogue". How many times do I have to do that? It takes the enjoyment out of the story.
This book is well written and the characters come alive as you read it. Although the epilogue is a separate free download, it was worth the time to bring the story to a conclusion. This is an excellent series and I'm looking forward to the next book!
A little overstep in medical ethics but a good romance
As a retired doctor I agree that getting involved with your patient is really frowned upon but this is fiction. It was a great romance and well written and plotted. There is an HEA.
I wish I could write a nicer review but ... this story was just too obvious. I loved the main character Lillian (doctor to the titled patient ! ) and I enjoyed Lillian’s assistant Lori, a lot more than Annabelle, the patient!! This book is an easy and quick read if you are looking to past a little time.
oh boy, an artificial insemination and the big obgyn doc at odds!
Emily Hayes has delivered this baby box right on time! Baby Blueberry arrived following a fall down some stairs and the Doc finally realizes she is in love! Now she has to work to save them both! The journey is sweet and words from Nonna should never be ignored!
VERY HOT novella with an OB/GYN and her very forward & flirtatious patient. You certainly won’t be disappointed if you like medical romance with a nice hearty dose of steam.
Lilian and Anna have an unusual meetup, but that partly makes for a better story. I enjoyed the characters and especially the trip to get gelato. Part of me felt like the story was a bit rushed.
