Knitting is a means of connection, and connection is what we need most of all. I encourage you to remember that and take it with you this year. Start a knit night in your community that is accessible and welcoming to everyone. If someone takes an interest in your knitting in a public setting, offer to give him or her lessons. Teach children how to knit, and teach them how to teach other kids to knit. Donate hand knit hats to your local homeless shelter or get a group together to knit for a cause and donate many things at once. Use your knitting to empower folks within and outside of your community. Knitting is a relaxing pastime, but it can also be a powerful tool.
