A freshman at Presper University, Nina is excited to be roommates with her best friend, Sydney, until she learns that she’ll be staying with his new boyfriend, Henry, instead.
Before Nina and Sydney can get into a heated argument, their new Resident Advisor, Monica, stops by to go over the rules. Monica is very strict, and since the East Tower houses both genders and all four grades, a student count is performed nightly, making sure everyone is where they are supposed to be.
Relieved, Nina thinks that will keep Sydney by her side as planned, but when Henry shows up with a stranger, everything goes to hell. The moment Devon, a tall and muscular bad boy with hazel eyes, tattoos, and a sly smile looks at her, she knows she is screwed.
After Devon offers to swap places with Sydney, so that there are two students in each room at night, Nina is both shocked and frustrated. Yet, her protests go unheard, because Devon is determined to help his friend come hell or high water… or is he?
Unfortunately for Nina, she has no idea that spending so much time with that bad boy, will make her wish he wasn’t just a fake roommate.

An enjoyable y.a. romance read. Devon and Nina ended up roommates because they wanted to help their best friends, Henry and Sydney, room together. Nina had a crush on Kai and Devon agreed to help her work things out. However, Devon and Nina became closer and feelings started to blossom between them.
Overall it was well written and had a good pace, well developed characters, but the drama that evolved towards the end lowered my interest. Regarding the scene at the hotel, it was emotionless and felt as if he was doing forced labour...
This honestly was a lot better than expected. It was a little over complicated, but it was still really good.
I really liked Nina because I really related to her. She was sweet, smart, funny. Just great qualities with some flaws. I didn’t like her name though (a girl in school with that name was mean to me so now I don’t like the name), I would have rather the author go with Sadie.
Devon was a unique character for the genre. He wasn’t really a playboy, which was super enjoyable. He really cared about Nina and wasn’t a jerk. I was annoyed that he would go back and forth calling her Sadie and Nina. It would have been nice for him to stick to one.
Overall, probably one of my favorite college romances!
As a woman of color I am super annoyed by the author going out of her way to show her "wokeness" with not one but FOUR interracial relationships! Really, honestly, I wouldn't have had a problem with it if each and every POC didn't just act as white as hell. If you're going to make the hero a POC at least give him thoughts and opinions that are in line with that culture.
Also, the chemistry was non-existent, and emotional "growth" between Devon and Nina is about as believable as a leprechaun gold.
Overall, this book sucked. I stopped reading this book at 90% because, even though I was so close to the end, I just DID NOT CARE how it ended.
Nina and Devon's story was awesome but I've come to learn all of Rebel's books are going to be. From the very 1st page I was drawn into this story and couldn't put it down I needed to keep reading and I'm so glad I did. Rebel really knows how to make you feel like you feel every emotion is this book and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next.
We meet Nina, Sydney, Devon, and Henry in this book. Sydney and Henry met each other before college, and had instant attraction. Sydney and Nina have been BFFS since Nina moved to Sydney's town in Middle School.
Sydney and Nina decide to room together their freshman year in college, but now that Sydney has a BF she wants to room with them instead. Of course nothing is ever easy, and these two girls have the strictest RA on the planet with no boys allowed, and curfew checks included.
Devon, Henry's roommate, feels like he owes Henry, and will do just about anything he asks to pay him back for helping Devon out of a bad situation. Devon agrees to the room swap, and Nina promises to stay quiet if he helps with an old flame at her new college. These two navigate living together, helping Nina get the boy, and in the process have to figure out how not to catch feelings.
This is a fun book by Rebel Hart, and a great light hearted read.
Devon and Nina's story was everything you could possible desire in a uni life experience. Their blossoming relationship allows us as readers to fall in love with character and their relationship!
After Nina having a rocky start to her uni life and her best friend wanting to share with her boyfriend on the down low, it was Devon who stepped up to be the best friend to Henry to support the decision and offered to share with Nina.
Their romance developed over time and captures the heart of every girl out there with their romance, drama and angst. For me, this story felt very real and in reality what can happen behind uni doors!
We are in need of more of their romance with Devon and Nina and a highly recommended slow burner read!!
Such a great quick read! I read it all in one sitting. I absolutely loved the friendship of Sydney and Nina as well as Henry and Devon! I would love more books on these characters for sure! I really loved the characters so much. Sydney was hilarious and I loved seeing Nina get feisty at times! Devon was just a good sweet guy with the bad boy background— I def wouldn’t have minded rooming with him lol.
I would love to know more about Devon and Nina and I want to hear about him taking her home to meet the family. I would also love to know how Henry and Sydney progress! I do wish we would have had more details on why Taylor was like she was and what happened when she learned that she failed! I cannot imagine having a RA in college like Monica! She was just too much lol.
Overall great read! If you like YA/college romance!

I read this as a Beta Read and I am leaving this review voluntarily
What happens when you you have unrequited feelings for someone else and someone has them for you or are they really unrequited?
I absolutely loved this book Devon and Nina were just so well suited to each other and I loved how this was just your typical college/university lots of party and booking up. It is up there in my top 10 slow burn books out there.
I was hooked from page one that I read it in one sitting.
This feels like a book where the author wanted to make the characters POC but either didn’t want to fully commit or didn’t know how to do it gracefully. Because the H appears to be a POC but the cover model is a white dude.
And when they’re looking for the cellphone lost in the dorm room why the fuck didn’t they just call it from another one??
And a non lab class that met for 4hrs 3x a week at the college level?? I had a double major in different fields and I never had 4hr classes that weren’t lab or studio.
Were people reading a different story? I mean, it was kinda cute and entertaining but really nothing special or out of the ordinary. And in particular, there were a couple of things that really bothered me. If Nina was such a good "like a sister" friend to Kai, how did she not now where he was going to college? And if Sydney was her absolute bestie how did she know practically nothing about Henry? Like, I know it's fiction but contemporary should be at least based on reality. I did like Devon, though.
This book by rebel Hart Was a great read. I enjoyed it. Although this wasn't one of rebels best I still enjoyed the book. It is well written. The characters were great. Nina is a freshman at university. She is meant to roomie with her best friend but ended up rooming with someone else. Devon is a bad boy type.. Nina and Devon have some issues. Find out how it all plays out then pick up this book today. Highly recommend.
Nina was looking forward to the college experience, sharing a room with her bff Sydney and hitting all her goals. Sydney though wants to room with her boyfriend Henry and there are a strict rule policy of no coed sharing. When Henry’s bff Devon agrees to swap, she reluctantly has no choice.
He agrees to help her with her secret crush but are they trying to hide what’s happening between them and what will happen if they all get caught?!
Wasn’t great, wasn’t horrible but nothing wowed me
This book was an alright ya romance read. I liked Nina and Devon as characters but found some of the storylines a bit annoying, the side plot with Taylor was unnecessary Ann's was just used for the ending plot but other than that she was barely even part of the story and didn't need to be involved and there's no way Nina wouldn't of told Devon who she really was so made no sense...
The ending was a bit rushed and to be honest I was really interested in the RA Melissa and what her story is...
That was so good, I had to stay up late to finish it!!!! I wouldn't mind another Nina and Devon story. Rebel are you reading this? Give the people what they want. (By people I mean me) Im just kidding......but seriously. Just a small novella of them would be good. Maybe a short story with a possible baby? Wedding? But whatever you want, its cool. No pressure or anything.

I feel like this was a fun read but I was a bit over it by the end. I think the last events weren't necessary, especially the miscommunication between Devon and Nina. He jumps to conclusion about her telling his secret even though he spent the entire night/morning with her. It was so unrealistic and it didn't bring anything to the story.

Uhhh it was okay? If not underwhelming. I wanted to like it but the entire storyline just didn’t feel organic, almost too obviously put together and rushed all at once. There were some entertaining moments, but if I’d decided to write this review a week from now instead of having just finished the book, it would be forgettable to me, sorry. Maybe it just wasn’t for me.
Rebel did it again!!! This book was absolutely one of my top favorites this year!!! I love Nina and Devon. They are one of my favorite couples and I loved the storyline and how it keeps your attention til the end.
Scream with crush since forever.. oh young love. Expect we all need friends like this one. Storyline a gripping read. Luck landing such a roommate. Recommend with bells on for truely perfect.
I am getting out there and say “ it’s no you, is me”.
I couldn’t finished this book, it was stressing me out too much. See, I am a goody two shoes. I respect rules and the careless of Sydney( I think) was driving me crazy.
If a friend is willing to get you spelled of uni for boy, GTFO!!!
Loved this new book by Rebel Hart! I adore Nina and Devon. The storyline is awesome and I loved every minute of it. Can’t wait for more from this Author!
I absolutely live Rebel Hart book and she for sure did not disappoint with this one! Loved the story line a twist on falling in love! You will absolutely love Nina and Devon!
Devon and Nina, swoon-fest awaits. I got so frustrated a few times, cause like COMMUNICATION could have solved everything. But I still loved this short story.
