Bill Hawley joined the family business right out of college. He doesn't mind dealing with corpses, caskets, and grieving relatives. But he's ready for something more exciting--like moonlighting as an amateur sleuth. Because sometimes the death certificate doesn't tell the whole story...

Her husband died in a cheap motel room, his death reported by a twenty-year-old exotic dancer. But Lydia Scholtz finds the story suspicious. Is she a widow in denial--or a woman on the trail of foul play? When she tells Hawley her husband was blind and carrying $50,000 in cash, he decides to investigate--and make sure the truth isn't buried along with the body...

This was actually a very good series. Learned a little about the undertaking business, more so than in the Hitchcock Sewell series. Took place in Cleveland. Good characters and good stories. Wonder whatever happened to this guy??
