Book 3 in the series of Arthurian legends - retold at an easy-to-read level for younger readers! When two boys save an old man from robbers, they learn of a competition in Londinium to decide the next king of Britain. The elder, Kay, is determined to prove himself worthy as a knight or a king. The younger is Arthur, a farm boy through and through – until he sees the sword in the stone. About The Legends of King Arthur Epic battles, thrilling quests and forbidden love combine in the medieval story of the boy who would be king. A retelling of the Arthurian legends, adapted and illustrated to introduce children aged 7+ to classic folklore. Great to share aloud, just like the original tales. All titles have been leveled for classroom use, including GRLs.
This is my second read in the Easy Classics set of books (the first was Little Dorrit). I feel like these books make good "samplers" for helping a person get into the book itself. I suppose you could say it helps lay some foundation for you to go into the book better prepared. I ended up reading this particular one, since I was given The Once and Future King collection as a gift last year, because I was always fond of the King Arthur legends. Sure enough it intrigued me into wanting to read that again. (A side note: it also made me want to reread Gerald Morris' series.) Overall, it was an entertaining and quick read.
Pues se trata de un volver a contar el relato de como Arturo sacó la espada en la piedra con ilustraciones y como para niños de 10 años. Está bastante bien, para iniciar a los más chicos en los mitos del rey Arturo.
