Rukh and Harlow are starting over at the beach, away from everyone else. Newly mated, they’re just now realizing what a monumental task it is to create a home when you’ve got nothing but the leathers on your back. It’s even worse when you can’t talk to your mate.
Will misunderstandings ruin everything?
This story is an extended epilogue for readers who want a little more of their favorite couple. Don’t start here! Start at the beginning with their book, Ice Planet Barbarians #4, Barbarian Mine..
Ruby Dixon is an author of Science Fiction Romance. She likes fated mates, baby-filled epilogues, and cinnamon roll heroes. She also likes to write biographies of herself in the third person, because it feels more important that way.
Ruby also loves coffee and dirty books and will probably be a cat lady at some point. :)
Lol this one didn't even try to pretend to be a honeymoon so besides the misleading title I respect that cause honeymoons on this planet aren't really possible (until maybe when they discover that fruit cave whenever that happens in the series lol). This is just the very beginning of Rukh and Harlow's life at the sea which was skipped in their book so more like a few bonus chapters than a honeymoon/epilogue🤷🏼♀️ but it was fine. This was sooo anti-honeymoon though because it's just about how incredibly hard their life is starting over here and not being able to communicate😅
"Rukh," she says, and taps my chest. Then she taps hers. "Har-loh." She gestures at the two of us. "Together." Her meaning is clear. We are a pair, meant to be one. "To-geddur," I agree, and am rewarded with a happy smile. Har-loh is mine, and I am Har-loh's. We are togeddur. In this moment, and in everything.”
I love them so much! I absolutely love reading these slices of life! 💖
This cute extended epilogue takes place during the one-year jumps that happens during Barbarian Mine.
It is not surprising that I gave this one 4 stars as Rukh and Harlow have never been my favorite couple. They never have made sense to me together - despite their chemistry in the cave. *wink-wink*
Harlow and Rukh’s “honeymoon” on the ice planet. Well more like when they went to the beach and stayed there until found again. They are such an adorable couple and I love how patient they are with one another (since Rukh didn’t remember how to speak or know much about anything) and adjusting to being mates and being a couple was definitely new to him.
This is a fun interstitial with one of my favorite couples in the series. I honestly could read more short stories of Harlow teaching Rukh how to speak
I liked this novella. Harlow and Rukh are both so sweet to each other. This isn't an epilogue, though. It is set between chapters 3 and 4 of Barbarian Mine, and shows Harlow and Rukh learning to live together on the beach right after they resonate.
asırı tatlılar 😭😭😭😭 uzaylı-insan ciftlerindeymis demek ki keramet. insan erkeklerden bir fayda gelmemesinin sebebi ERKEK olmaları degil İNSAN olmalarıymıs İNSAN erkegin serrinden NON-HOTH BİLMEM NE GEZEGENİNİN KARIM DA KARIMCI EVİNİN ERKEGİ MAVİ UCUBE UZAYLI ADAMLARINA SIGINIRIM!!!!
harlow’un rukh’a kelimeler ogretmesi rukh’un asırı buyuk bi keyifle ögrenip harlow’u memnun edebildigi icin surekli gülmesi, surrrrekli ailem icin karım icin bir yuva yapmalıyım karımı memnun etmeliyim diye dusunmesi yani ALFA BETA SİGMA ERKEK YA ERKEK. BUDUR İSTE BUDUR
I think about all the years he grew up in the wild without anyone to talk to, much less anyone to kiss, and I'm happy that resonance paired us together. It doesn't matter that he scared me in the beginning. I saw the lonely, aching man beneath all the dirt and fell in love.
A small continuation of Harlow and Rukh. These are so perfect. It’s just a little bit more alone time for the couples. It’s the perfect read and it’s just a small glimpse into their love.
bro i’m done with this series lol (until i wanna continue it again obv). i read the first four books, the main characters, and their novellas since the end of february and i’m actually tired lol. anyway this was a good insight of how the relationship between the couple grew, i can’t even remember their name i’m so tired. they were cute but kinda boring, and i liked their main book only cause i liked the relationship between brothers, so this was really a “get this out of the way” read
This is how I imagine Harlow after skinning the animals for their hides and after gutting them for meat. I'm not such a big fan of the neanderthal, I'm more of an intellectual man but I do like Rukh. Ruby Dixon sexualizes man like men sexualize us in real life. Most men care about our beauty and less about our words. haha
This is more like a deleted scene than an extended epilogue (compared to the other honeymoon novellas).
It takes place soon after Rukh and Harlow “resonate” or ahem… mate 😅 and before the one year jump in the timeline their book has.
What I loved about this was that we see more of how they’re learning to communicate and cohabitate together ❤️ especially because there is a language barrier 😅.
I love how attentive Rukh is 🥹🫶 he works his butt off, making sure that his meat has enough meat to eat and fur to cover herself because of how cold she gets 😭.
And the 🔥? Uffff. Rukh is always willing to learn 😉 (and I love how realistic this is with his lack of stamina 🤣 he’s never been with a female before, so it makes sense 🤷♀️).
Gahhh! I just loved this ❤️.
I do wish that we had more of their life After the baby was born (in book 3), but that book did have a little bit of that already ❤️
⚠️safety squad⚠️ -no cheating/sharing/owd/omd -no apparent triggers -deleted scene ish
This honeymoon actually just made me mad that they spent SO LONG away from the others (and that they didn't make the ancestor's ship computer teach Rukh languages) but whatever, it was cute enough I guessss
Oh god.. these barbarians must appear and multiply in our world. Rukh 🫶🏻
"Rukh food Har-loh," he says instead.
"This is another thing I must learn when it comes to my mate. Har-loh is fragile and weak compared to me. I must take care of her. I must handle all the things that are too difficult or that she does not like to do, because I am her mate."
"I never feel uneasy or threatened. I always feel safe and cherished and so damn loved in his arms."
This novella takes place right after Ruhk and Harlow make it to the beach in book 4 which I kind of wished this had just been in the book and not made into a separate novella but I enjoyed it nonetheless. They are still having some communication problems which causes some hurt feelings and confusion but they learn quickly what works best for them. Ruhk is such a good provider but he learns in this novella that they work best together.
This was such a fun read!! Harlow and Rukh are one of my all-time favorite couples in this series, so this was just a delight to read❤️ I am honestly also just a sucker for language barrier romances!
This was cute. I liked seeing how things were for them in the beginning, when they were still learning about one another and how to communicate. I liked that it wasn't all perfect right away and that their relationship actually took a bit of work and understanding. I also just liked how understanding Harlow was with Rakh because I think I would have been super frustrated with it all. Overall, it was an enjoyable little flashback.
