Almost exactly identical to the previous one, but with a few additional characters. The mix of original and Beforever collection items for older characters was a bit random and I wish there had been more of the original items. Like previously, later sections tended to get redundant.

This was VERY fun but my god those historical girls were going THROUGH IT. Like what do you mean she had polio?!?

Yes I did read this front to back. So yes I am going to be rating it like all my other reads 🤓

4/5 It was cute but felt like it over simplified some of the struggles these characters went through. Like I know it’s just giving us a brief overview of each character. But like some of these American Girl Dolls went THROUGH it.

Don’t tell me Kirsten’s story struggle was learning how to live on the prairie - KIRSTEN WATCHED HER CHILDHOOD FRIEND DIE OF DYSENTERY. But anyways I digress, I love American Girl lol.

What a great book! I would've liked some more information here and there but it did include more characters than I expected. The biggest problem with this books is that it makes me want more dolls hahahaa

I really don’t like how they are trying to change all of the “Historical” American Girls’ stories, outfits, and backgrounds. It was disappointing to see so much omitted. Cute enough, but I would much prefer flipping through an old American Girl catalogue or magazine, by far.
It also got a bit redundant. Also, nobody really likes the BeForever dolls as much as the originals, so it was odd that they mixed them together and made them just as significant in content and pages as the historical girls.

how are you going to call this an encyclopedia and not include so many original outfits and accessories ?? the random mixture of classic and be-forever reboot dolls is criminal. wish they would've had one side with the classic and the other side with the be-forever refresh it would make more sense and would be really helpful to everyone actually trying to use this book for research purposes. i still love it though :D

I’m so glad we finally got an updated encyclopedia! I really do love this book, and I pore over it for hours in end, staring at the pictures and illustrations. I do wish they had kept the hobbies section though.

also very funny to me that there are personality profiles in this book dedicated to american girl pets.
the dolls are book characters so that makes sense to me……but why would i care what a toy rabbit’s favorite snack is
