When Jake sees Maria in the Carnival costume, he knows it's love . He chases the float through the crowds - but when he finally meets Maria he gets a big surprise.
Opener: “Jake arrives at Euston Station in London. It is a holiday weekend, and it is his first time away from Manchester. Jake is eighteen years old, and he lives with his family. Now he is in London. He is very happy. He stops and looks at his map.”
Summary: Jake is eighteen. It is his first time in London and he goes to the Notting Hill carnival. He sees a beautiful girl on the first float; she sees him too. He thinks he’s in love with her. He follows her and is able to speak to her. Her name is Maria. He finds a camera on a cafe table and takes it to get a photo of her. But he loses her float and has to run off with it. The owner of the camera and a policeman chase him. Jake finds Maria, takes a photo and says sorry to the owner for taking the camera. The policeman takes Jake to the police station. He asks Jake what he has in his pocket. Jake shows him the photo of Maria. There is a surprise. A policewoman walks in. It is Maria!
Final review: The love at first sight and the reckless stealing elements of the book are off-putting, however, the ending is pleasantly surprising.
Kezdő angolosoknak kiváló. Pár szót és kifejezést nem értettem csak, azokat kikerestem. A történet olyan amilyen,de egy alsós olvasókönyvben sem filozófiai értekezések vannak.
I liked the book. It has a lot of performances that are continuing as opposed to the book "April in Moscow". The examples of sentences can really make a difference in the application of present indefinite and present continuing.
