England, Paris, Greece, Rome . . Evacuation from Egypt was the pivot point of a two-year adventure in childhood that shaped the person the author became. The poems in Transported describe and reflect on her experience.
Aptly named, this book transports the reader to a Cairo museum, the hills of Athens, and the deep blue of the Mediterranean. At a time that has been so difficult for so many, these poems are an inspiration and a comfort. While deeply personal, they have a universal quality – one that is filled with compassion, love of family, of life and of learning. Finely crafted, these poems are both beautiful and accessible. This is a wonderful collection – one I know I will enjoy reading many times over.
