Every serial killer has a type. But what if that type is part of a larger, more dangerous agenda?
With virtually identical women being murdered in Minnesota, panic is causing huge political pressure to get the killer off the streets. Celebrated investigator Cade Dawkins is given the hot potato case and hopes to get it wrapped up before the governor has his head. But the killer has his own agenda-one that goes beyond simply murdering knockout blondes. As it becomes a cat and mouse game between killer and investigator, Dawkins begins to realize he just may be the mouse.
Allan Evans writes the twisty thrillers your friends warn you not to start before bed. He’s the author of two other Cade Dawkins thrillers, Killer Blonde and Killer Smile, along with several young adult and middle-grade novels—including Abnormally Abbey, Class Clown, and Spook Squad, which have earned him a wonderfully surprising number of young readers who think he’s cooler than he probably is.
Allan’s diverse professional background—encompassing undercover investigator, bodyguard, advertising creative, and more—provides the raw material behind the realism and edge of his crime fiction. When he’s not plotting fictional crimes, Allan is a longtime soccer coach, where he teaches kids about teamwork, resilience—and, thankfully, nothing involving serial killers.
He lives in Minnesota, where winter is cold, crime is complicated, and stories are never in short supply.
This crime thriller is a cat and mouse chase between cop and serial killer.
The killer has been selecting beautiful blondes, killing them and making it look like an accident during his quest to antagonize the local State department’s best detective. Once the detective cottons on to this, it becomes a race against time to see who will come out on top.
The chase is captured from multiple points of view which lets the reader know what’s going on while the detective is still trying to work it out.
In my opinion, the characters were a little flat; they each filled a role but never strayed beyond that and didn’t develop as the story went on. They fit very much within the mould you’d expect in a TV crime drama, which I didn’t hate – I’m not against a little cliché in my crime thriller but the addition of a couple of internet memes was a step too far (if you’re au fait with viral tumblr posts, you’ll know them when you see them!).
Altogether, I quite enjoyed the thrill of the chase and even enjoyed shouting at the detectives for their terrible police work (letting the teenage niece of a victim in on gruesome details and sharing privileged information with the media) and random chunks of exposition. The writing style is well paced and effortless to read, which made for a great lazy-day read over the bank holiday.
This isn’t so much a dark thriller as a slightly camp crime procedural but I would recommend it to fans of crime thrillers looking for something a bit lighter to read.

WOW! Now this is a serial killer that I would have to meet in a dark alley, and would be thankful that I am not blonde. The blondes in this engaging read were definitely not having fun!
I loved the writing style, and the humour interspersed in the writing. Really well timed to ease the tension.
A definite thrilling read, with a scary serial killer and a very likeable hero. The bits of romance here and there were just enough to dial down the scary killer, and were not overwhelming to the degree that males would not enjoy this book.
I really loved the uniqueness of this book and will definitely be looking out for more from this author, as his writing style is really engaging, and definitely page turning. I was up until 2am to finish this book.
Highly recommended if you enjoy serial killers that are a bit different, and instead of your usual FBI, or Police Department police procedurals, this was focusing on the patrol element of law enforcement.
Killer Blonde by Allan Evans is a fast paced thriller- a tense game of cat and mouse between a season cop and a psychopathic serial killer. There is quite a lot going on here- with murder, mystery, hidden agendas, plots, politics, rivalry, a lot at stake, dramatic developments, danger, tension, and even a little romance. Ok, so I am not going to lie- this book had me thinking about it long after I finished, debating how I should rate and review it. There was quite a lot of promise held in the title, premise, and intriguing cover. While the overall story was quite enjoyable and did ‘deliver’ on some of the potential of the story- other elements and issues detracted from what would otherwise have been a 5+ Star rating. Cade Dawkins is at the top of his game. A seasoned detective with a string of high profile case closures under his belt. When a couple of unusual road accidents raise some concerning questions, Cade’s investigation opens up a can of worms. A serial killer is operating in the area, disguising his murder spree as car accidents. His victim(s) of choice- beautiful, tall, blondes. But we soon discover that there is far more to the story than first meets the eye. With a hidden agenda that makes the stakes even higher, Cade will need to outwit and outplay his cunning opponent, before it’s too late. The story is told from a duel POV- giving us both Cade’s and the killer’s point of view- which gives the reader a well-rounded perspective of all the developments. But, we did discover the identity of the killer only half way through the book, which I felt took away from the tightly woven tension that the author was building quite effectively up to that point. And while the rest of the story was intriguing, I felt that knowing the identity of the killer made the last half of the book less intense and suspenseful than it could have otherwise been. Overall, the story was tightly woven- with obvious research and attention to detail. But then there are some really cliché elements, attempt at adding humour using tired ‘jokes’ we’ve all heard a hundred times before, things that have done the rounds for years as memes and social media posts. As well as there being obvious police procedural errors- and I am no expert by any means, but I doubt a top cop and his detective partner would be discussing highly sensitive case details in the presence of a civilian, let alone the 17 year old relative of one of the murder victims- no matter how much she wanted to help (just as an example). At times the author used some odd word phrasing, which pulled me out of the story as my mind rearranged the word to make more sense. There are also a LOT of characters to keep track of- 65+ named characters either playing a direct role or who were referred to in the story - not to mention a slew of unnamed characters, too. There were a few other minor issues, which in the end I had to acknowledge in my final rating of this book. Don’t get me wrong, this is an enjoyable story- but I felt the author missed the opportunity to take this story to the next level as this story really does have the potential to be quite an exciting and stellar read. Looking forward to seeing what Mr. Evans does next.
Involved in a controversial police shooting, Detective Inspector Louise Blackwell finds herself transferred to a new town and among a group of officers who don't quite trust her. When she's assigned a murder case, she soon discovers she's on the trail of a serial killer and works to prove herself to her team while trying to avoid her former partner, whom she blames for destroying her career.
Brolly builds an interesting story around well-developed characters. Although we see things through the killer's eyes from the very start, we are teased with his motives as we move along, uncovering each clue as if we are working with Blackwell. As the killer's plot unfolds, Blackwell struggles with pressure from her superiors, her backstabbing former partner, a junkie brother who neglects his niece, and a continuous effort to build relationships with her team.
The story gets a little slow here and there, but I enjoyed the first installment of this series and look forward to diving into book 2.

I really enjoyed this story. The twists and turns definately keep you guessing in this cat and mouse game. The author does a fantastic job of gripping you from the first page and you can't put it down until the end.
There is a killer on the loose. He's targeting tall blonde stunning women. He bumps into them on deserted highways and kills them. No one can figure out why or how he finds his victims. Is the killer just after more victims or is there another motive behind his murders.
Cade is tasked with the case of finding this murderer. After his success on a previous case it has heightened his image and his place in the ranks. Now he is on the hunt for this murder before he strikes again.
With cases turning up from Chicago as well which left the lead detective there dead Cade is also wondering if he needs to watch his back as well as watching out for another victim.
Will Cade stop the murderer before he strikes again? How can the murderer be hiding in plain sight and not be noticed? And will Cade have met his match this time?
A page-turning murder mystery about a cop investigating a serial killer in Minnesota who is running victims off highway roads before molesting and then murdering him. The victims all look identical: young, white, blonde, successful women who the killer chooses and then stalks before attacking them. He's in it for the mind games, and he finds a formidable opponent in investigator Cade Dawkins.
Reminiscent of James Patterson and Thomas Harris novels, Killer Blonde is a focused, straightforward detective thriller that pits good vs. evil and hits all of the classic beats with well-researched police work and behaviors thrown in for good measure. Full review to follow.
I read this police procedural in one day, almost non-stop. It is very good.
Because of location and a few other details the book is very similar to John Sanford’s novels about Minnesota detectives. At first, I was concerned about that. However in the acknowledgments Allan Evans’ praise of Sanford’s “amazing books” assured me that any similarities are because Evans is a fan of Sanford. I am giving the book four stars, because I think Evans needs to work a little more to make the main character, Cade, more like Cade and less like Virgil. I haven’t looked to see whether this is headed to be a series, but I would sure read more Cade books!

I received an eARC from the author for an honest review and here is what I thought of this serial killer story.
The story started with the killer’s perspective and curiosity was built from there. However, it did not proceed as I was expecting. As in, I thought it will turn out to be a good old Whodunnit but that was not so because the identity of the killer is revealed quite early in the story. That was kind of a damper for me because now I knew what the game was and it being a Serial Killer book, the end had to be that the good guy will catch the bad guy so there was not much left to be discovered except for the how of it.
The main character is Cade Dawkins and having read the book, I am not sure I actually know Cade much. His characteristics came up in the plot out of the blue like in one scene he is completely emotional and then there are scenes which show him being a douche; so what kind of a person is he really.
There were some incidents in the story that left me boggled. Like in one scene we find out that Cade and Reynolds are a couple but when exactly did they become a couple? That part is assumed (I think so). That annoyed me, really.
During the narrative, characters from Cade’s past popped up and they had no relevance to the story whatsoever except for telling us why Cade was the way he is. Again, if there was a background, it would have made sense but one paragraph about a character we have never heard about in the middle of something else (a character we will not hear about again) was a deterrent to the story in my opinion.
The most interesting part about the story was the serial killer’s perspective. What he may plan next was what kept me going on.
Killer suspense with an intriguing story that keeps you searching for the answers. This is the first book I have read by the interesting Allan Evans. Spooky month always needs a good mystery or two and this book put the spooks into my daily routine for the next several weeks. Dual perspectives of Cade Dawkins and the killer keep you entranced in the mystery of Killer Blonde from start to finish. Cade Dawkins is a seasoned detective with several big wins under his belt, but nothing could have prepared him for his biggest case so far. Several beautiful blondes are seemingly killed in “car accidents” across an area but the more he investigates the victims the more questions he has. These are not accidents but staged moments to throw him off the scent of a serial killer in the area. With each new discovery he feels the hope of finally stopping the killer but then something new is discovered that keeps him looking for the connection to stop him. The killer meticulously plans every detail, making sure that nothing is given away and the nothing is what it seems. The depth and reasoning behind their actions keep you on edge as you see the game of cat and mouse play out. Will Cade find the killer in time? How many women will fall victim before the killer is stopped? Can Cade keep his friends safe? The plot and depth of the characters kept me hooked from start to finish. Making me really think about how aware I am of my surroundings as a single female when traveling at night. The author’s ability to have such developed and well-defined polar opposites keep the reader interested in seeing how each with evolve over the course of the story and trying to figure out how it will come to an end. Truly one of my favorite authors of the month and I can’t wait to start book two in the series, Killer Smile, and see what the detective will face next.
Killer Blonde by Allen Evans is a suspenseful action-filled detective story. Smart 31 year-old State Patrol officer Cade Dawkins is pursuing a serial killer who stalks beautiful young women. He is a plainclothes investigator with the Minnesota State Patrol, with some local fame from a previous high profile criminal case he solved. Dawkins is high energy, thoughtful but at times brash, and has a keen awareness of the sometimes grey areas of law enforcement. He and his fellow investigator, Rob Zink, are tasked with apprehending the knife-wielding serial killer. The detectives have an easy-going manner with each other and a believable repartee as fellow officers and friends. The book starts with a bang as a victim is stalked and murdered. From here on, the action is well-paced and builds suspense with intensity, keeping the reader gripped in the investigation and apprehension of the killer. The climax of the story is terrific, with a nice twist. The author’s explanation of law enforcement procedurals was very interesting, and his descriptions of local Minneapolis-St. Paul area landmarks added interest for me, as I have never been to Minnesota. The chapters in the book are written from different characters’ viewpoints, which adds to interest for the reader. I also appreciate that the author was able to write believable, natural dialogue among his characters, which is an art in itself. Hopefully there will be more Cade Dawkins mysteries in the near future! Thank you to Immortal Works LLC and BookSirens for this ARC. This is my unbiased review.
Cade Dawkins is an investigator for the state patrol based in Minnesota and when he gets an early morning phone call, he knows it is bad news, however, when it is an early morning phone call for a one vehicle RTA and it is from someone who is top notch at investigating them, then he knows something is really wrong. When he arrives at the scene and sees that it is an attractive blonde who’s clothes and seatbelt marks with an open seatbelt suggests that something else might be going on, especially when a reflective dot and questionable physical damage to the car. When he gets back to the station, he sees that the other investigator is in and asks about his current case which has remarkable similarities to his current ones and from there, a pattern emerges which is undeniable, this combined with the media being tipped off about the case by an unknown source leads to the case getting more political attention than it needs.
As the days go on and no leads have come in to move the investigation forward, another blonde is found in questionable circumstances again and the pressure to solve the case increases, however the killer is not giving up his agenda and when Cade works out that this isn’t just a simple serial killer, he realises that it might be more of a game and that he is the one being played, but will he be able to solve the mystery before either more bodies turn up or he becomes one of them? This is a thrilling crime novel which will keep you hooked and on the edge of your seat until the conclusion.
“Killer Blonde” introduces you to Cade Dawkins, an investigator in Minnesota, who finds himself assigned to a case where a serial killer is hunting and murdering beautiful blonde women. Cade must rely on his friends and outsmart the killer if he is going save others from the same terrible fate.
Overall, I enjoyed this novel. The different points of view from the cop and the killer give the book an interesting voice with a nice window in to details that may not have been there otherwise. I found the way that Cade tracked the killer and the clues that he found kept me turning the page. However, the killer’s identity is revealed rather early on which I found took away from some of the mystery and desire to read on. A couple of other things also felt a little confusing as well. I actually really love sports, but reading a play by play in the beginning of the story seemed super out of place and much too long. Some of Cade’s acquaintances around the case also seemed to appear and disappear much too quickly. Unfortunately it doesn’t leave you with a connection to many of the ancillary characters. I hope that when more Cade stories come out, the other characters in his stories are also given a chance to shine. I will say that the ending was satisfying, while also setting up the word for future tales.
I received a copy of this novel in exchange of a fair and honest review.
When there is a serial killer on the prowl, will Cade be able to solve these gruesome murders and catch the killer.
Cade has been assign a case which will take all his years within the police to try and track and catch a serial killer who is killing blonde glamourous women. As Cade investigates the killer becomes more invested within the cat and mouse of the chase and will either one of them win this deadly game.
I have to say I was looking forward to this story but at times I was a little disappointed in the book. Although the story was full of twists and turns the actually sleuthing was not that difficult to predict who the killer was, it also was a two POV conversation of the two characters which was great but did not leave much to the imagination with for me is the best part of a book.
With that said the overall story was constructed well and flowed through the story very well, there were a lot of characters within the story to sometimes keep track of which did detract from the story some what sometimes but the main characters hold the tread through the book. All in all the book is a great read, I would like to read more by this author in the future.
This is a complex and action packed cat and mouse chase of a serial killer who has a thing for hot Blondes, his victims (the Blondes) and the investigator Cade Dawkins who is trying to catch him.
The story is told from multiple points of view which I enjoyed but no one character stood out for me as particularly interesting and I found them to be a bit wooden.
The story had a lot of potential and there was enough in it to keep me going but at times it felt a bit disjointed and long winded, with some really corny lines such as ‘However, he had muscles for days’ which I found cringy.
The author has done some excellent research into police procedure and it shows, I appreciated the detail. Although I doubt the police would share as much detail on the case with as many people as they did in this story, the beauty of fiction though is that it can be written as such.
Overall it was not the suspenseful serial killer novel I was hoping for but definitely a solid police procedural.
I am grateful to the author and BookSirens I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
From right off, the cover builds suspense and intrigue- whom is the attractive woman in the red dress, and why is she standing on a parapet off a building?
First impression of the book was this was one I was going to stick with, because it was well written and fast-paced, and in a style that I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. For characterizations, I loved how the governor gives Investigator Cade Dawkins the hardest time, only in order to build his own importance and build confidence in his constituents for the next election. I felt for the citizens of Minnesota as Cade works to find the killer.
I enjoyed the soccer-loving authors' reference to the game, although dislike his taste in the English Premier League and his key players, but thought he wrote about the passes/plays in soccer quite effectively. For whatever reason, I laughed over the line "The killer goosed the gas pedal," I don't know if that is regional slang or not!
I can't wait to read book #2 of this series, and I would recommend this one to anyone that enjoys fast-pasted, thriller-style mysteries.
This was just brilliant ! My nails are chewed to the quick 🤫🫣my blood pressure has risen , I’ve hit out in a rash and I’m so grateful for my pink hair 🤣😉😜
If you’re blonde don’t read this because your next trip will be to the salon and not the grocery store 😱😉
This killer is smart which makes him even more dangerous and he seems to know how to leave no trace but Cade is hot on his heels and this feeds our killers murder lust even more , he’s loving the challenge but the girls are his gateway to the actual prize …. Cade 😱
Seeing the victims through the eyes of the killer had me on edge and I could smell their fear I kid you not ! From the victim’s perspective I could feel their fear , Evans writing style is superb !
While I was reading I’d share bits of it with anyone who’d listen and it piqued their interest because I got asked for updates and progress #truestory#
Every killer has a certain criteria but they also make a mistake , eventually and watching Cade pit the puzzle pieces together was brilliant and I can’t wait to devour more of this mastermind and his work ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
An enjoyable and entertaining crime thriller which has a gripping storyline and an interesting main character in celebrated investigator Cade Dawkins. When Dawkins is given a difficult case to solve, he soon discovers that a serial killer is on the loose and that he has a type. Virtually identical blonde women are being murdered in Minnesota, causing the public to panic and resulting in political pressure to catch the killer. Dawkins learns that the serial killer has his own plan, one that is part of a larger more dangerous agenda. It soon becomes a cat and mouse game between the killer and the investigator but Dawkins realises that he might be the mouse. The descriptive narrative brought both the setting and the characters to life making me feel immersed in the story. The dual POV narrative from both the killer and Dawkins worked well and made me feel engaged with both of them. The suspense that was building chapter by chapter did disappear slightly for me when about half way through we learn the identity of the killer. However, the cat and mouse game continued and the main mystery was still to be solved. Overall this was a fast paced and exciting read.
This is an entertaining crime novel following the pursuit of an interesting serial killer by Cade. I thought it was different the way the story was told through multiple points of view, including the killer. This was an element I wasn’t sure of at first but the thrill of when and how they’d be caught was engaging. There were moments of frustration when you want to knock some sense into some characters and some elements did break the realism of the story for me procedurally, however when looking at it as a purely fictional case, this was still an enjoyable case to be ‘involved’ in. The writing style was simple and easy to follow. The pacing felt right for the story, there wasn’t any rushing to get to the end as can sometimes be seen in mystery thrillers. I very much liked the author’s style of writing. I did enjoy the characters however, I felt that there could have been a little more complexity to them, some back story which shaped them and developed over time. I may a little bias in this as I really enjoy character development in my reading. Overall, this was an entertaining read, it wasn’t as dark as I was initially expecting so it was an easy pleasant read.
Killer Blonde by Allan Evans was a thrilling 4 star read. You get pulled in right from the beginning and you put your detective cap on right along with the characters.
Cade is a detective with some experience under his belt. When he gets called to the scene of an accident he quickly discovers that there is more than originally thought. There are several cases that seem to have a connection, blonde sophisticated women dying in car accidents, but are they really?
The killer likes to stalk his targets and learn their patterns before he attacks them. Will Cade be able to figure out who the killer is before any more lives are taken?
Overall this was a thrilling nail biting read. We get a dual POV between Cade and the killer, which I loved. I like books that keep you guessing to the end on who it can be. This fell a little short for me since we discovered who the killer sooner than I would have liked to. All of the characters added a great element to the story. I look forward to reading more from this author. 1-click and get started today.
Allan Evans' book Killer Blonde was a great psychological thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat, scared to see what would happen next as a killer is on the prowl for blondes. The characters were perfectly developed, with no detail too small to be left out. It was as if I was right there watching the dead bodies as they were found by the investigators. This book had so many unexpected twists and turns, the killer was ingenious in the fact that they knew exactly what they were doing every step of the way, always two steps ahead of the detectives. I am a huge fan of psychological thriller novels, the chase of trying to find the killer before anyone else can be killed makes the story keep you reading right up to the very last page. I couldn't put this book down; I was so scared that the detective would not be able to solve the murders before they got targeted themselves! If you love a good mystery thriller you will want to add this book to your next to read list. @Brandy Rymer 10/2023
Killer Blonde is a multiple POV story, told from Detective Cade Dawkins' and a psychopathic serial killer's POV. I liked this alot as it gave me both perspectives and tiny details that may have been missed from the other person's view. This is a fast paced story and has alot of things to unravel. Cade Dawkins is your typical story-book detective. Seasoned and professional, and known to close impossible cases. When a series of car accidents turn out to be a little too suspicious, it becomes apparent there is a serial killer on the loose. And, not only is there a killer on the loose...he has a specific type - gorgeous blonde women. Now Detective Dawkins needs to catch this guy before he finds a new target, and the ongoing game of cat and mouse becomes more and more intense. I think the only thing I did not thoroughly enjoy about the book was finding out the identity of the killer "too soon" and would have enjoyed that little detail to be drawn out a bit longer. Overall it was a great book and well written.

I became instantly interested in “Killer Blonde” by Allan Evans because it is a police procedural novel featuring a serial killer. I love both of those topics and Killer Blonde did not disappoint! It was action packed and kept moving along at a good pace. The characters were well developed and felt real. I enjoyed how the interactions between characters were realistic and and the banter between the main character Cade and his partner, Rob, didn’t feel forced or weird. I wasn’t too surprised to find out that the author has worked in the investigative world before because the police work was on-point (haha at least to my non-Officer viewpoint). I have read a lot of books featuring serial killers, but this one had unique twists that I thought were pretty cool. I’m not going to give anything away, but the actual hero of this story blew me away! I LOVED the ending. Hopefully there are more Cade Dawkins novels to come because I will definitely be reading them!!
Killer Blonde is an edgy thriller that will keep you invested and desperately trying to solve the mystery. Allan Evans is a new author to me and it has been years since I have read a book like this, or enjoyed it so much. A deadly game is entered, and the race against time begins. There was an urgency to catch the killer and prevent any more women becoming this cold blooded murderer’s next victim. There is nothing better than reading the events unfold and trying to guess who would commit these heinous crimes. The author engages his audience smartly and entirely. I am always thinking who could do it and asking why. I always like to know what makes a criminal tick and what could possibly cause someone to do these unthinkable things. Cade Dawkins has his work cut out for him and political pressure to close the case. Killer Blonde was an intense and vivid thriller that keeps you thinking about it long after you finish reading. 4 stars.
I loved reading the book Killer Blonde by Allan Evans. It is a story that pulled me in and didn’t let me go until the final page. It is a book that had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. The story is written in such a way that I felt I was right there trying to solve the mystery. I loved reading about the character of Cade Dawkins. Cade is a character that is well-developed and one you want to root for him to succeed. Will Cade catch the murderer that he is searching for? Read this book to find out. This is a story that includes danger and suspense. The author does a wonderful job of making the story and the characters come alive. Don’t miss out on reading a book that is exciting, intriguing, and entertaining. I highly recommend it.
Loved every minute of this crime mystery! From the first page, I was captivated by the authour's flow and competent ability to draw the reader in close. The writing style was completely engaging; the plot grabs you immediately, and the fluidity is masterful. I was hooked and settled in to read happily. Our hero, Investigator Cade Dawkins is smart and loveable - he is a standout among officers, and notices the pattern in killings before anyone else. As he pieces together clues to solve the brutal murders, the mystery winds in on itself, and he seems to be the only one that can untangle the web. As the game of cat and mouse races toward the finish, we increasingly have to wonder - who is the cat , and who is the mouse?
I wholeheartedly recommend this book for crime and mystery lovers, or anyone who appreciates an amazing storyteller and writing.
Killer Blonde is one of the best books I have read recently. Once you get into the story, you will be on the edge of your seat and not be able to put the book down! This was the first book I have ever read by Allan Evans, and he will definitely be on my must-read authors list. Killer Blonde is a suspense-filled cat and mouse game worthy of James Patterson. At the beginning of the book, you will immediately be drawn into the killer’s web of horror. Allan Evans successfully pulls humor into the story with character jokes and levity. I enjoyed that even the minor characters are likeable and fun to read about. The main character, Cade Dawkins, is lovable and a man you would want to protect you. You will identify with Cade’s honor and either want to be him or be married to him. This is your next must-read story!
I picked an awesome story for my first book by Allan Evans. I am a crime/psychological thriller junkie. I was not disappointed at all. This plotline kept me at the edge of my seat. It was a thrill ride just like a roller coaster. Just when you thought what was going to happen, BAM it went in an opposite direction. The characters are Remembrall, complex, fully developed. When you hear that a serial killer has a type, I start to worry if someone I knew fits that description. Cade has been assigned this killer’s case. It is a hot case that even has the governor’s attention. It started to become a cat and mouse chase. Is this a case that will do Cade in or will he become a decorated officer? I highly recommend this book but I will caution you. You may want to read this book when you know someone is home and either daylight or lights are turned on.
I love a good murder mystery / thriller and this one did not disappoint. It featured a killer with a devious mind - who planned out and executed those plans in incredibly interesting ways. I liked how this story took the idea of the killer being part of a larger agenda. Cade Dawkens was a well written, well developed investigator and the case contained many twists and turns. Several of which that surprised me. This was truly a fantastically written thriller in which everything seemed to be thought of. I thought that both the killer and the investigator were well developed and did not come across as contrived. I thought that the plot moved at a great pace and that the various twists came a at great times and definitely kept me wanting to read. I recommend reading this one and I will be looking to read more by Allan Evans in the future!
This is a new author for me, I enjoyed my first book and I look forward to reading more from him. This is a suspenseful story that is well developed that has characters that bring the story to life. The characters made the story enjoyable to read and they are connectable. This is a fast paced story that is engaging. There is a serial killer on the loose killing women who all look the same. The killer has an agenda but so does the investigator Cade. As the story becomes a cat and mouse game, I highly recommend reading to find out who is the cat and who is the mouse. This is a great story that has twists and turns you don’t want to miss. Don’t miss out on this book, it was worth the pick up.
Killer Blonde by Allan Evans is a psychological thriller. A serial killer on the loose and the best detective who is on the case. Allan is a new author to me and the story started out smack bang into the thick of things. It is fast paced and has a lot of twists and turns. The killer was revealed quite early which took some of the intrigue from the story. The writing reveals the story layer by layer a bit like Law and Order. You can tell that it has been well researched. The characters where just that, characters. I felt there was little back story to them which made it harder for me to connect. But for all that, it was a straight on cat and mouse thriller where good triumphs over bad and in the end the cops get their guy.
