Every candlestick tells a story. Its body, color and shadows reveal whether buyers or sellers were stronger, whether confidence is increasing and whether the existing trend may continue, weaken or reverse.

The challenge is not simply recognizing the shape of a candle. It is understanding what that shape means, where it appears and whether the signal is strong enough to justify a trade.

Don’t Trade Before Learning These 14 Candlestick Patterns is a practical, beginner-friendly guide to reading this visual language of the market. Instead of overwhelming readers with dozens of formations, the book concentrates on 14 important candlestick patterns that traders are most likely to encounter and use.

The book begins with the fundamentals. You will How a candlestick is formedWhat the body and shadows revealThe difference between bullish and bearish candlesHow candle size reflects market strength or hesitationWhy location and market context matterHow confirmation helps reduce false signalsThe second part explains the selected patterns individually, including widely recognized formations such as the Doji, Hammer, Shooting Star, Engulfing patterns, Morning Star and Evening Star. Each pattern is presented with its structure, underlying market psychology and practical trading implications.

You will also learn how Identify possible reversals and continuationsRecognize shifts in buyer and seller strengthCombine candlestick signals with support, resistance and volumePlan entries, exits and stop-loss levelsAvoid acting on isolated or unconfirmed patternsApply the same principles across stocks, forex, commodities and cryptocurrenciesThis is not a book of shapes to be memorized mechanically. It teaches you how to interpret candlestick patterns as evidence of changing market sentiment.

If charts currently look confusing, this book will help you read them with greater clarity. Before placing your next trade, learn what the candles may already be telling you.

Well done!

Well written and clearly explained. The 14 candlestick patterns are very useful in identifying and verifying trends that aid in trading decisions. The author is careful in warning that these patterns are only indicators that need other corroboration. Tread carefully and do not rush!

Easy read, great info.

Spells out 14 candle patterns that are respectably predictable. This is the essence of why candlestick charts were initially developed. Market sentiment is revealed, relative risk is reduced.

I picked this up out of pure curiosity, and I was pleasantly surprised by how readable it is. Honestly, I always thought stock charts looked incredibly dry, but the author does a great job of explaining the human emotion behind the lines. I particularly liked the section on page eighty-seven about the Dark Cloud Cover pattern, which explains how a long black candle opens above the previous day's high but closes well below the midpoint. It made me realize how these charts show a visual tug of war between real people. My only real complaint is that the formatting feels a bit unpolished in places, with some sketchy diagrams and awkwardly aligned text. It is still a very practical guide for beginners who want a simple desktop reference.

I normally read fiction, but this short trading manual caught my eye because of how it explains market psychology. I really appreciated the section on the Three White Soldiers pattern on page ninety-nine, which describes how three consecutive long white candles show buying pressure. The author has a very down-to-earth style and reminds us to look for confirmation rather than jumping in blindly, which I think is great advice for novices. On the downside, the book is definitely too basic for seasoned investors, and it lacks advanced discussion on things like liquidity pools. Still, if you are just starting out, it is a very straightforward guide to keep on your desk.

It is fascinating to think about how financial charts simply reflect human fear and optimism. I really enjoyed the author's breakdown of the Inverted Hammer pattern, where a downtrending market tries to rise but sellers push it back down to leave a long upper shadow. The explanation is so clear and visual that even someone with no finance background can easily grasp the concept. However, I did notice that some of the diagram boxes look like very basic digital sketches rather than professional illustrations. If you can overlook the slightly unpolished self-published layout, this is a solid manual to help you build some visual intuition.

I picked this up hoping to demystify those busy financial charts, and it did exactly that. I loved the opening section where the author breaks down basic shapes like the Doji and the Spinning Top, showing how white bodies mean buyers are in control while black bodies mean sellers took over. It is written in a very friendly, accessible voice that does not make you feel lost in jargon. My only real disappointment was with the physical formatting, since some pages have awkwardly aligned text that is hard to read. That minor issue aside, it functions as a highly useful reference guide for anyone wanting to learn the absolute basics of price action.
