For such a hated character Celia was in the Fixed series, I know it had to be such a challenge to write her story and get us readers to truly embrace her transformation. I can honestly say the author succeeded. It took four books, a lot of drama, and a lot of growth, but this final book has me a believer.
I like that her growth as a character took time. We needed to see her go through all the emotions it would take to truly make a person stop and reevaluate their life. Some things revealed were not easy to stomach. It wasn't pretty and I hated what Celia suffered. You start to understand why she needed to cope and how it turned negative.
Edward was another surprise. I loved him and hated him. He wasn't an innocent either. He has dealt with some pretty tough things that shaped who he'd become. At first, I couldn't imagine him being the right man to heal Celia. Turns out, they needed each other to heal and start new.
When I started this series I expected appearances with Hudson and Alayna. What I wasn't expecting to see was how much we needed Celia's story to truly wrap up Hudson and Alayna's story.
I'm glad I gave Celia a shot. This was quite the journey.

I was no longer Edward's little bird. I was a phoenix, and I was rising.
I have just devoured the most phenomenal story that I'll have read this year. Nothing - and I mean absolutely nothing - can change my mind that Rising, the fourth and final book of the Slay Quartet, is not just my favourite read of 2020, but is hands down my favourite Laurelin Paige read... ever.
This series has only gotten better and better as the stories continued to come, so I am not surprised whatsoever that this conclusion was an absolute masterpiece.
Though I'll be honest, I was more than a little nervous to dive into this story as I had this fear that it wouldn't live up to what I was expecting. It is the final book of this series, yet there was still so much that needed to be touched on: that ending that was delivered in Revenge, Edward's need to avenge Celia, the secrets that still lie between them, the aftermath of Ron, and the fact that we still had that ending in Fixed Forever to touch on - something that I have been waiting for since 2018.
A part of me wondered how Laurelin was going to address all of that and more in this last story that is shorter than both Ruin and Revenge are, but takes place over the course of more than a year.
But I needn't have worried; just from reading the Prologue alone, I knew Laurelin was going to captivate me with all she would deliver next, and she did just that and more in this story that melted my heart, blew my mind, and left me completely and utterly speechless from beginning to end.
Told in a dual POV, Rising does not only take place over the course of a long period of time, but it also overlaps the timelines of both Chandler and Fixed Forever (stories you do not have to read to enjoy this one, though it is a bonus nevertheless). Whilst that might sound like it's too much, I can promise you now that it isn't. There'll obviously be time jumps throughout the course of this story - like there were in Ruin and Revenge - but Laurelin once again navigates them flawlessly and in such a way that I never felt like I was missing anything, nor was I greedy for more.
I mean, I'll always want more from Laurelin Paige, but she knew what to deliver to make it relevant to the storyline, to make the story itself flow smoothly, and make it so that it doesn't feel choppy nor like there's too much going on all at once, and it was absolutely perfect.
Celia and Edward have come a really long way since Rivalry, and it shows. I went from hating them both, to loving them with every fibre of my being; their growth throughout this series has been flawless and impactful, and their chemistry together was as sizzling and intense as ever. They literally acted like an old married couple in this book - their banter just flowed from the very first page, and more times than not I completely melted at the little intimate moments between them that made me swoon like never before. And those last few chapters... oh my God.
The last 15% of this story was a thrill to read. That final showdown between Hudson and Edward... It was everything I didn't know I wanted it to be, and that is all I am saying about that.
I went into Rising with a racing heart, butterflies in my belly, and a fear for the unknown; twelve hours later, I came out of Rising with a craving to reread this book already just to experience the wonders of this novel all over again. It's fast-paced, is brilliant and intense, and is a story that is still playing out in my mind as vividly as though I'm still reading it; it's a story that stays with you even after you've reached the last word, and I can confidently say that if you've loved this quartet so far, then I don't think you will be disappointed with Rising - it is truly Laurelin's best work to date.

A Top Read of 2020
Talk about finishing with a bang!! This book was by far my favourite in the series. I literally couldn’t put it down - forcing my family to fend for themselves, I didn’t move from my spot until the last word.
I love an author who can make me love someone like Celia. Not just forgive her for past sins, but genuinely adore her. And Edward, well he’s the epitome of an alpha in my books. Nobody messes with what’s his. Together their broken parts made a whole.
“How is it you see so much good in a man who is clearly a devil?”
“Oh, I see the devil, too,” I assured him. “I like him just as much.”
Very happy reader - definitely recommend.

The conclusion to Edward and Celias story was everything I hoped for. When you look at the series from the beginning there is so much growth from both characters.
At the start of the story gosh I wanted to kill Edward, I felt the angst down in my stomach and I was sympathizing with Celia to the core. But even with Edward being his brooding arrogant self I count help but still love him. He will still slay you. His internal struggles were strong in this one and getting inside his mind was so fascinating you won’t want to put the book down.
Celia, oh how I hated you in the slay series but admire you now. You have grown to be a strong and stubborn woman throughout this series and deep down you have a heart of gold for the ones that you love and it shows strong in this book. You see the good in people even when you shouldn’t and are prepared to defend them no matter what.
All the secrets are uncovered and boy is there a lot of drama and hardships, but in the end of this crazy ride I was so impressed by the decisions Edward made and how he felt about Celia’s past and chose to move forward, truly a turning point for him that made me shed tears of happiness during his talk with Hudson. You will fall in love with Edward down to your core.

Rising was a fantastic conclusion to the Slay quartet. This story definitely highlighted Celia's transformation and her evolution into the person she was supposed to be. There was such a difference in her character from book one to this book and I for one was consumed. Edward and Celia's relationship progressed immensely in this story as the depth of feeling between them was evident.
Overall, this story was sexy, riveting, full of secrets, revelations and surprises. Paige did a phenomenal job writing Celia as she not only made her a likeable character but one we could ultimately root and cheer for. Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula

2 What a way to fail ⭐️
I am literally offended by the existence of this book. It was a completely unnecessary addition to an otherwise great series.
Clearly it was a greedy decision to put this lazy shit out there.
Where the previous books had a profound message and carried a huge emotional impact, this was shallow and empty in comparison.
You should still read the series though. The 2 ⭐️ are out of courtesy for the last 3 books. Which was all 5 ⭐️ for me.
The story is purely about miscommunication between Edward and Celia as a couple, and as much as I hate that in books in general, it’s absolutely ridiculous to use it in the conclusion in a 4 book series!
That is where the readers need emotional closure. 🤦♀️
At this point in a book, if the MMC’s can’t communicate with each other, and handle their problems as adults, I don’t want them together. AT ALL. I demand a divorce for them.
Here is what happened:
Celia tricked Edward by getting pregnant, he already has two adult children from a previous marriage and feels inadequate as a dad.
Both Celia and Edward are acting like children themselves. She doesn’t apologize and he doesn’t tell her how he feels. 💤
He went from a completely unhinged, dominant man, to a completely wimpy man, licking his wounds.
He would only give her a child, if she would tell him who A is, and she wants to protect A. 🤦♀️ Because she knows Edward will want revenge.
Edward killed his sister’s abusive husband and Celia worries he will do the same to A/ Hudson. Big deal, we knew this in book 2.
They bicker and argue through the whole book and nothing happens except dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s from the previous books. 😈 There is no new information.
You need to read it because you want the ending, but it was a completely unnecessary book. This series should have been 2 books and not 4.
What should have been a romantic conclusion between Celia and Edward, ended up being a book about a couple bickering. I am big mad! I wanted an epic romance between them, after everything they have been through.
This is a filler book and the characters were completely assassinated by the author. 😈
Should you read it? I guess at this point you have to. Speed read it?
Ps. This is a money grab book. As I reader I am offended by this conclusion.

Rising was a fabulous conclusion to the Slay Quartet. This was Celia’s book and it was so good. Her evolution from book 1 to now is truly extraordinary. She’s come so far thanks to her husband Edward. These two are the perfect match. They challenge each other and the dynamics between them only gets better every time they face off against one another.
In Rising they both take the final plunge and reveal the last secrets they’ve been hiding. The lead up to those were intense as hell. There’s no denying that they love each other irrevocably and that’s also why tensions fly high when they’re revealed. Those scenes were fantastic cause they want to care for one another so badly and also take charge as well. Especially Edward.
Celia has done a lot of horrible and despicable things in her past. Thanks to Edward she evolves and takes responsibility. Her character development throughout these four books has been flawlessly executed. She started out as a broken and numb woman and look at her now. She now flies high and embraces her faults. She’s a survivor. Such a growth.
Her husband Edward learned a few things as well. He loves fiercely and needs control but he also needs the words. Celia gave those to him.
I was completely immersed from start to finish. Celia and Edward are two powerful forces and they delivered an amazing story and conclusion. The epilogue was spot on.
I’m glad the author took a chance and wrote Celia’s story. It’s not easy when she used to be a hated character but Paige succeeded beautifully. What a couple. What Quartet.

I have terrible bookzheimer's, and it has been a while since book 3 in this series, so me being me, I had no idea what I was diving into.
However, once I started reading, things started to fall into place in my brain and I slowly remembered things.
This final instalment dives right back in where book 3 ended, and we hit the floor running. There is so much that we still need to know, still needs to be concluded, so I knew that we were not going to be bored with this story.
And boy oh boy, were we taken on one heck of a ride.
Now, listen very closely, as I will never say this again...
For the first time since I first read the Fixed series all those years back - I hated Hudson Pierce.
Shocking, I know, however in this part he was such a douche, that I just couldn't with him and his sanctimonious BS. I was talking to my Kindle, telling it how dare he act all holier than thou when he was involved in all this stuff, heck he started it all.
And I thought Edward was so much more the man than Hudson in this one. You could have knocked me down with a feather when I came to this realisation hahah.
I don't want to give anything away, as you need to go into this with as little knowledge of what happens after the first three books - you owe it to yourself to just dive in.

The final book! Yes!
It's been a long while since book #3 and again I forgot everything! LOL!
Damn #Bookalzheimers! But then I remembered that it ended with Celia telling Edward she's pregnant! BAM! And suddenly I remembered everything again! ☺
And so we start. Edward is a 'bit' angry at the whole thing. Plus he's still mad she won't tell him who A is in her journals.
And Celia is mad at Edward for ignoring her. But she's so happy about the baby. Adorable! Seeing our old mean girl like that.
How will this book end?
Will Edward find out who A is?
We hope not. We want them all to survive!☺
We want all of them to get their happily ever after!
Edward's sister will get hers too in the next book! (SLASH - a novella, coming in August!)
This was a great finale for a great series.
I wouldn't have minded much if this would've been only one longish book instead of four. But it was okay the way it was. I liked it. I didn't think I could ever like Celia, but I do.
There was a tiny bit too much business talk for my tastes. And talk in general. There were too many words and sentences that could've been cut. It was too wordy - that's why I would've preferred one book instead of four!! ☺ BUT! Great romance with lots of sexy times and lots of feels and frustration and excitement!
SLAY FOUR: RISING was a great finale in this crazy & sexy quartet! I'm really happy with the way it all ended! Hurry to your nearest amazon asap - Edward will be sold out in no time!
A tiny little story-unrelated complaint. By now I know I shouldn't read Laurelin's acknowledgments, but I did and again I wanted to take away 2 stars from my rating just because. I just HATE religion and mentioning how great god is and how he is the one to thank for everything in her life - it makes me want to never ever pick up one of her books again. She's not the only overly religious american romance author out there. But I think, if you guys can't keep the religion out of your books, you should write christian romances and stop bothering us with these unnecessary words in our contemporary or erotic romances! Laurelin has outdone herself once again with this epic conclusion that just screams perfection. It takes a great author to sell you a story with a heroine you absolutely despised beforehand. Then you get turned around and care for her in ways you couldn’t imagine. And I mean it. I loathed her before these 4 addicting books came out. Her redemption was one of the most surprising moments in all of my book reading history. This book was EVERYTHING. Everything I knew I needed. Everything I never knew I wanted. Laurelin gave me so much. Not only from Edward and Celia, but for Hudson and all the secondary characters too. My heart is full. I couldn’t be happier with how it ended. And dang if that epilogue didn’t get me. Right in the flipping feels! Even with that though, I hope we get more of this world in the future. Whether it’s short little stories or full blown novels, I don’t want to let them go. Not now and certainly not ever. Heck, I’m already itching to do a complete reread from start to finish of all these wonderful characters that have become more than just a story I read once -or 2,3,4,5,6.. whatever- times. I’m so excited for everyone to get their hands on this book. Even if I want to hoard Edward for myself. Whether you’ve tortured yourself -like me- and have been reading them as they’ve come out or if you’ve waited to binge them, you won’t be disappointed. One click as soon as it’s available. Lock yourself away and just enjoy it.

Edward and Celia’s Story definitely gives closure while having you on the edge of your seat! These two have a heightened tension the entire book, this makes for a perfect story! Where we left off Celia left Edward to stay with her parents in New York. Do we really think putting Edward in the same city as Hudson is the right thing? Definitely not! But the ending that we have all been waiting for is well written and The Last Game is played!

I prefer my continuing lessons on and ponderings about life wrapped in the lines of a story like a present wrapped in beautiful ribbons. Certainly, I am not alone in this regard. Storytelling is eons old and the foundation of communicating morality and spirituality beginning in one's early childhood.
While this story culminating in this last book is the flavor of romance I love best, it did that special "thing" to my mind and spirit. It sparked contemplation and meditation; giving me a little bit more insight into myself, others and the world in which I find myself. Yeah...it's going to be one of "those" kind of reviews.
Through the themes of the overwhelming need for revenge, the possibilities of atonement, and the freedom found in letting go of grievance with the symbolism of fire and smoke, this gifted and polished author teaches us profound, even timely lessons.
Before I offer my thoughts on these, I will tell you the book hits all the high notes of composition and form and meets the expectations of the romance story lover. The "mains" continue to develop and captivate and the plot line moves along smoothly with some surprises that enhance. The plot was also tightly woven so that there was no jumping over plot holes.
The fundamental disagreement between Edward and Celia is Edward's all-consuming desire to avenge every wrong done to Celia. In an introspective moment he describes himself:
“I’ve been completely consumed with rage and spite, these twin fires that ate everything in their pathway. No matter what I fed them, they continued to burn, burn, burn. Everything was fuel, and there I was, throwing flames at whatever I deemed deserving to be burned down."
Celia has been broken down and been made new because of Edward and their transforming love. She has crawled through the fire and emerged like the mythical Phoenix. She is looking to the future, yet, Edward is hyper-focused on revenge to the detriment of the "redeeming" love he found with Celia. He is also haunted by his past deeds. Celia is desperate to cling to her secrets to keep Edward safe from his own destruction. With a new life on the way, Edward has to choose between primary focus on his quest for destructive vengeance or laying down his sword of vengeance and becoming the father and husband Celia desires. What will be the consequences of his choice?
Within the framework of this story are reminders of the hollow, destructive force that is revenge. Leaving ashes and smoke rising in its wake...Nothing left to hold onto. The smoke rising, itself, a metaphor for the fleeting nature of time and life.
Haven't we all recently experienced the damage, destruction, chaos and the sheer nihilism based on a personal philosophy of revenge? Don't we all waste some of our precious time looking back, if not with vengeance in our heart, but holding a grudge there. Holding onto something which in the end is really nothing?...only wasted time, energy and emotional bandwidth?
How can we expect to move forward when we are caught up in the past, mired in negativity, focused on the fire of vengeance? Nothing but smoke in our future?
The idea of atonement is also introduced into the narrative as Edward begins to engage and confront his ultimate rival. The beauty and grace of atonement is underscored as a theme. Think about how liberating, karma-balancing, purifying the idea of true atonement is not only for the soul of one but also, the good of all. We may not be able to erase our past but we can lift the burden of guilt we carry from the harm we have perpetuated by atoning for this harm. Redemption is made more manifest by atonement. Forgiveness for ourselves and others becomes more possible. True acknowledgement of our flawed nature will allow us to move forward as a person toward peace of mind...peace just being human. Atonement is substantial proof of this acknowledgement.
As you can tell, I had a hard conversation with myself. The ideas seem forthright and deceptively simple, yet so hard to truly manifest in our daily life. We are complicated emotional beings. We are spiritual beings. We are social creatures. We all have needs, wants and desires. All of this adds later upon layer to our motivations behind anything we do, good or bad. Whether we move forward or stay fixed in time.
Using this pallet of complex motivations, our author wrote a moving and brilliant romantic saga. A saga which intertwines with a few others she wrote. While her writing hit me in that place between my head and heart, it was also a wonderful escape into a lover's world filled with passion, big emotion, heart-stopping desire, and body-tingling sensation. Everything. And I mean everything, a reader of the art desires.

It has been quite a ride exploring, inhaling and sinking deep into the world of the Slay series. Ever since I started this series a year ago, I have been deeply entranced, compelled and spellbound by an electric and intriguing romance that made me feel so alive. Laurelin Paige is a genius to be honest. Her storytelling is both magnificent and utterly flawless in both character delivery and breathtaking scenes that a story like no other. I have been enchanted by wonderful words that take you on a journey. The Slay series has been one of the best series I have ever read.
Ending with a bang, Rising, concludes an epic journey of Celia and Edward. Every inch, every layer and every word of this book awakened my soul. By far my favorite book of the series, Rising’s story deeply attaches itself into your heart. The mesmeric words. The enthralling characters. Rising is a powerfully irresistible romance with a hypnotizing story. Soul Arousing. Transfixing. Stunning. Rising takes you on one last journey of mended pasts, trust and forever love. A phenomenal read with angst and sexiness that screams perfection. A finale that made my heart leap and dance. Laurelin Paige is a genius and a beautiful storyteller who gives me books like Rising that make my heart swoon. What a ride!!!!!

Gosh, Edward will forever be on my list of hot, commanding and powerful antiheroes. Celia and Edward truly rocked my world.

A well earned round of applause goes to Laurelin Paige for going with her gut instinct and writing Celia's story... I wanted to hate Celia for what she had done for being the cold hearted bitch she was in the Fixed series but here she totally redeems herself. She finally gets the life she's craved no matter how much she has denied it to herself!!
As for Edward Fasbender... OMG! My Ovaries burst several times over. The Edward / Hudson / cigar scene just about sent me into a pile of goo... two great dominant alpha males on the same page. The tension was palpable. Clash of the Titans so to speak. Edward has catapulted into one of my favourite all time characters. He was just what Celia needed to ground her, to complete her story. When I look back at how book one started with these two characters cold and distant to how book four finished off they were completely humanised.
God love Edward and his comment "I feel like I have been F**ked in the arse by my own wife...." So English and so powerful. I need more Edward...

If you told me when I was reading the FIXED series that at some point I was no longer going to hate Celia, I would have called you a liar. I am here to admit I might even sort of like her. This series does NOT excuse anything Celia did but you certainly get a better understanding on what might possibly drive someone to be so cruel. Also we all excused Hudson for his past bad behavior so why can’t we at least understand Celia’s part in it.
This couples chemistry has always been off the charts but they have continued to have a tremulous relationship.
Edward’s obsession with revenge was causing me to doubt him. I also wasn’t sure after the end of the last book if Celia truly changed in her ways.
I will say this couple was meant to be together. They seem to balance each other very well.
This final book of the series, not only answered all the questions and tide up all the loose ends but it also gave you more insight to Genevieve and Chandler and even a bit more of Hudson and Alayna.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series, but the second half of this Quartet could have been combined into one book, and been much the better for it. There was so much filler. So much filler. I was thirty percent in and my eyes were glazing over because of how mind numbingly boring everything suddenly was.
I don't know what happened to the tightly plotted, morally complex writing from the first two books. The only thing keeping me going was my hype over the eventual showdown between Edward and Hudson. And then.... you guessed it. Nothing happened. All that build up, for nothing.
Also, don't even get me started on Edward. He started this series as an intriguing badass, but slowly dissolved into a shadow of his former self. I wish some authors understood that male leads can fall in love without losing their entire personality.
Overall, this was a very interesting series... until it wasn't anymore. I wanted a dark romance, and it started out that way, but became a much softer, sweet story, with characters who changed for the better entirely too quickly to be realistic.
I am looking forward to reading Hudson and Alyana's trilogy, though. I feel like I probably should have read the Found Series before I picked up the Slay Quartet, but since Celia was pitched as an anti-heroine I couldn't help but read her story first. I want more female villains in romance novels.

Laurelin Paige finally quenched our thirst in the finale of this four book series, Rising, a fitting testament to the end of Celia and Edward’s journey. Spellbond as secrets are unleashed, justice is served, forgiveness, and choices are made. Both are forced to make difficult choices, inevitably sealing their fate. We applaud Paige for her storyline, and great character development, however, we were slightly disappointed with some editing issues in our hard copy.

Rising, the last book in the Slay Quartet gave Celia and Edward a justifiable ending and one that suited them perfectly.
If you had asked me before this series came out that I would see Celia as a redeemable character, I would have laughed in your face. Yet here we are, and she has been redeemed and not been defined from her past.
Celia's story is simply tragic. And although her actions were borderline crazy and dark, you see more layers as to why she did what she did. Not justifying them, but saying there's more to the story than there is. I mean, if Hudson can change, why not Celia.
I adored seeing Celia grow throughout the series and this last book truly shows that. We see her grow and grow and turn into somebody that we wouldn't have believed she could turn into.
Don't get me wrong, shes stull her feisty, no-nonsense self. Shes just grew up more.
Now, let's take a look at Edward. I mean, DAMN! I'm a big fan of Edward. Dominant Edward, Daddy Edward, Businessman Edward, Jealous Edward (which is hot AF) He's multifaceted and suuuper sexy. But there's a lot of vulnerable Edward in this story and I am simply besotted with him. He's another character that has grown throughout the series and I absolutely adore him.
This book is a more stripped-down version of these characters. With plenty of drama and angst in there to feed a family twice over. There's a lot more love in this novel, and there are still plenty of twists and turns to keep you reading.
I simply adored this series and would most definitely recommend it. Celia has definitely redeemed herself in my eyes and Edward is a total FOX! (Which is enough incentives to read this series.) I could not recommend it enough!

This is the final book in Edward Fasbender and Celia Werner’s quartet and in my opinion, Laurelin Paige has saved the best for last. What a gripping, riveting story I was completely captivated from the first to the last page and couldn’t put it down.
It is an intense, emotional and gripping story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. There are moments that may challenge you as a reader so you have been warned. The chemistry between Edward and Celia was intense and the writing was strong.
In the conclusion, Edward and Celia both have to look deep inside themselves, come to terms with what they find and determine what they want for their future. This was a roller coaster of a read that is a fast paced story.
I fully admit to tears as I finished this book, it was a journey that has touched me on so many levels and is something I highly recommend to you all. All in all this was a fantastic conclusion to this series and I cannot wait to see what comes next from Ms.Paige.

Rising (Slay Quartet #4) is such a fantastic, emotional and angsty conclusion to an epic series. The fact that Laurelin Paige managed to change my mind about Celia Werner Fasbender, one of the most hated villains ever created, completely astounds me. She and Edward (an irresistible sexy devil who I loved to hate) evolved into the most incredible, memorable and amazing couples that I’ve ever read. And their wild, steamy and panty melting sexy times are still lingering in my mind!
Ms. Paige does a flawless job of tying up all the loose ends and giving closure to all the characters from all aspects. Rising truly ended on such a beautiful high note and I definitely recommend reading it as well as the series.

Edward sometimes has a one track mind, “nothing is as interesting to me right now as you taking off your clothes. But go ahead and try to prove me wrong. Who was this phone call from?” I liked this book, I'm just glad Celia and Edward finally found their peace, and not was it a long road to finding it.

Edward was a different monster, but a monster nonetheless. He started this journey fueled by revenge and hatred but he ended up falling in love with Celia, and that changed everything.
I loved him and hated him at the same time, he just couldn't bear to give up his revenge and it almost cost him the woman he loved.

I was really satisfied with the way everything ended. Seeing the transformation of Celia was breathtaking. She got to have everything she ever wanted and that made me happy.

Amazing ending to this series. Laurelin is a very talented writer and her books are just amazing. Edward and Celia, what can I say about these two. I still have mixed feelings about Celia. Great book.

The conclusion to the Slay series was not a disappointment at all. You really find out how far Edward would go for the ones he loves. The story had love, betrayal, lies, truth, closure, a great climax and a great ending. You’ll read all about what they’ve both have overcome and see how much their love have grown for each other. This is a love story like no other and has made their marriage and them stronger than ever. KEEP ON READING!

I mean.... WOW! I don't love Celia..... but my hatred for her ran so deep that I didn't even think I would want to read anything in which she might get a HEA! I like her. I am happy with the way this whole situation wrapped up. I really really really LOVE Edward! Talk about swoony! He really gave me the feels in this book! Like gave me ALL the FEELS! I really think that through out this quartet both of them did a lot of growing and changing. To be fair, if you have read Fixed Forever you already had seen some of Celia's transformation.... but his was way more than I thought it was going to be. UGH! And could they freaking BE any cuter?!?!? By the way they start out you would think I was crazy calling them cute! I give this book all 5 swooning stars! And the entire quartet was on my list of top reads. And now I really feel like I need to just go and binge the whole entire world all over again! (thank goodness for audio!)

Seriously I've never thought that I could love the story that much about heroine I've literally hated in author's previous Fixed series.
But thanks to the Laurelin Paige I have new reading experience where she prove me wrong and I totally fell in love with Celia and Edward story. Author outdid herself and created a new level of enemies to lover’s plot.
Rising is fourth and final book in Slay series and it's an excellent conclusion to Celia and Edward story. Finally all puzzles click into their places. They had a long journey through hard and complicated relationship. They were like two opposite poles strongly attracted to each other.
This part of their story caused some memories to return to the beautiful Fixed series and I was deeply touched. BTW, You don't have to read the whole Fixed story to get this one but I recommend to read it to truly understand Celia story.
Slay Quartet is pure sensation, it’s next best of the best from Laurelin Page.
It's a fantastic new plot which will blow your mind and knock you off your feet.
Laurelin Paige was messing with my mind through the entire series and I wasn't certain a damn thing in this novel, but I totally love every single moment spent with Edward and Celia story.
