E anche per quest'anno mi sono fatta la mia dose di scazzottate alle Bahamas con Ruby Steele. Questa volta la barista - ora astemia - esperta di arti marziali indaga sulla morte di una prostituta che viene catalogata come overdose, ma che il buttafuori del bordello possa essere un vero e proprio omicidio. La ragazza, però, era un'albanese vittima della tratta, sfuggita ai suoi aguzzini, ma finita nel bordello di Nassau per potersi ripagare il viaggio di ritorno in Albania. E l'assassino sembra essere un ricco cocainomane di cui Ruby non riesce a trovare le tracce. Un uomo che probabilmente non è al suo primo omicidio di una prostituta, ma purtroppo l'ha passata liscia a causa della corruzione della polizia e del medico legale di Nassau. E questa volta Ruby ha il sostegno del suo allenatore, Lenny e del suo sparring-partner, Axel, nelle scazzottate. I due, infatti, sono entrati illegalmente alle Bahamas pur di verificare che Ruby stia bene. Ruby Steel is back! Packing a punch and taking a death defying swim in order to catch the murderer of trafficked girls. This read is engrossing, fast paced and action packed. With the assistance of friends from the bar and her professional boxing life, Ruby is hell bent on finding the killer. What an amazing read! With friends who are quirky, witty, good hearted and loyal. The team is all in , on this mighty adventure which comes down to good verses evil.

Loved this entire series

Ruby is a kickass ex MMS champion who attracts trouble. The local have decided she is an investigator, the King has decided she will brainchild fight for him. As she solves crimes the local police cover up, her assorted friends help look. Out for her. Never a dull moment with an alcoholic monkey to top it off.

I really think this series would work better as a tv show. There are a lot of fight scenes (which are better to watch than read!) and it feels like there are “episodes” and a season long mystery as well (that thumb drive!).
Ruby’s judgemental attitude and her unlikely invulnerability in fights also started to grate.
Other than that, not a bad book!

Ruby Steele has a heart of gold and fists of fury as she takes on the case of an Albanian sex worker who is strangled while working. No one seems to care (especially corrupt cops and coroner) which is why Ruby takes the case with a little help from her friends in Nassau and her old training partner and trainer

We get to meet two fighters from Ruby’s past in this book. I didn’t think this book was as good as the previous ones and the ending is totally unbelievable. I kinda felt like this book was just filling space between the previous books and the next book where hopefully we get more information about Ruby’s past.

Wonderful series!

Mia Gold has a hit with her Ruby Steele books. I think it would make a great movie or tv series. Looking forward to the next one and hope she doesn't stop there.

I'm honestly enjoying this series more than I thought I would.

Following Ruby whilst she is hiding from the American government & random assassins, whilst also solving the large amount of murders that keep occurring where she is living is very addictive.

This is the third book in the series and it was my least favorite thus far. The plot was actually pretty good but the addition of the two characters, the fighter and the trainer, was unnecessary. They were annoying and didn’t add anything to the story. I will say that I’m looking forward to the next book because it sounds like they may solve the issue with the flash drive. These are great books to listen to during my commute because they’re pretty straightforward. Overall, I’m really enjoying this series.
