Having toppled another powerful foe, Satou’s group heads back to Labyrinth City to celebrate their achievements. Upon returning, they’re greeted by two familiar faces—Zena and Karina have come to Celivera! Plans are made to give them a warm welcome, but those get derailed when Zena runs into trouble. Her labyrinth dive takes a turn for the worse when a monster kidnaps her, so Satou rushes to her rescue.
Inevitably, he finds much more than he bargained for! It seems a Hero’s work is never done…
Although it's one of my least favorite volumes overall, it's still very good. The problem I have with it is that it focused on two girls that I don't really like: Karina and Zena. So, I got quite bored with their interactions. I much prefer when the novels focus on the girls in his actual party.
I did like how we get to learn a lot of new information regarding reincarnations and unique skills. Plus the new characters introduced near the end are fun.
So a few of the reincarnations in the Parallel World Satou now inhabits created a cozy abode in the Labyrinth City Lower Stratum. Satou shows his true form as a matter of trust, and learns about the God Fragments and how a reincarnation becomes a demon lord. Arisa already knew a little about all of that, so she accepts a brooch from Satou.
Zena comes around too, and we leave the volume with a cliffhanger.
Seems to me like this series is quickly starting to have too many faces. There are just too many lies, when is he actually going to make a decision instead of an excuses. Entirely way too much time invested into a bunch of has-beens that will probably only be mentioned in a passing thought. Maybe I just don't get the big picture..
Typical high paced low threat slice-of-life story of the earlier volumes. We do get a few reveals with a potentially darker undertone. What exactly is going on in regards to heroes, demon lords, gods and unique skills? Intriguing and enjoyable travel catalogue as a friend of mine one called the series.
I love how seriously OP Satou is and that he just wants to chill and sightsee. Also the fact that he keeps saying things like stop raising flags this isn't a light novel or manga is hilarious. Seriously wish the anime had continued as the story is great
Fun volume that gives us a chance to finally see Zena and Karina reunite with Satou, some nice parties, and a meeting of others from our world. Fun read!
If you enjoyed the first thirteen then this one fits with the rest, but these books are getting shorter and shorter for the same price, maybe wait for it to go on sale?
