I have been waiting patiently *cough* for Tara & Shane. Sasha as been teasing us with their friendship and NOW they had their first kiss which leads us here...
We pretty leave where we left Valentina and Nolan story. The Greek Mafiai are the main enemy and things are getting more 💥 no spoliers but the action scenes are WOW & ouch you be sore in the morning
Tara & Shane relationship is a friends to lovers story which makes it extra special. They only had each other and I have been cheering them on since Merciless Prince. I did have a couple of breaks with this book cause my emotions went everywhere in a very good way

This series is just getting more and more interesting to me. I'm loving all the freaking twisting secrets and mafia drama and action that just keeps escalating in each book.
This book is about Shane and Tara. I've liked Tara right from book 1, when she was so good to Elisa and was her friend. Even though she has addiction to drugs, that girl is wounded by her past. Especially when your parents used the stuff for work and fun, what would happen to their child.
Even though Tara got cleaned then hooked again, she gets into rehab. But now that she's fled the rehab, Shane is going crazy trying to find her.
Shane and Tara always had a sort of something going on, like a whispered bond that they wouldn't speak of and now we get to see why Tara is so close to Shane and what happens to make her want to escape.
But there's a war coming and enemies on the rise which scares Shane, knowing he can't leave Tara unprotected.
Tara somehow finds herself tangled into something horrific when she thought the situation would be a chance for her freedom. The Devil's Auction is certainly not what she thought it would be.
New secrets and new enemies but from the past arise and now Shane has to find out who's hiding behind shadows and waiting to pounce otherwise it will be too late to save his beloved.
AHH... I had a freaking blast reading this one. The action, the freaking twists and the deep love and bond between Shane and Tara was just everything.
Also that sneaky little ending has just made me oh so wanting more.

I just knew Shane and Tara's story was going to be epic and it was that and more!
Tara is such a strong person and has had to overcome so much in life I just had to see where her story would go.
Shane was EVERYTHING and He and Tara together were explosive.
Cruel Knight was so intense to read I did it in one sitting. I couldn't put it down.
This is a definite must read for sure.

Cruel Knight (Brutal Reign, #3) by Sasha Leone was a phenomemal ending to an epic journey. The Triology was my first Dark Mafia romancce from Sasha Leone and what can I say..... I fell in love. With every word. With every emotion. With every character. Her writing style is very unique and I really got the feeling of living in the story while reading it. That is something very special an author can do to a reader.
From the first book, I thought that Tara deserves more than just to be a side charcter. She deserves her own story. And she got it. This strong and fierce woman deserved love and hapiness. I knew that her story with Shane would be epic. He too deserved some light in his life. And he found it in Tara.
The love and hate between them is like ice and fire. It is so hot and explosive. Shane is very impulsive an din combination with Taras fierce it is a dangerous mixture. And the danger from outside their relationship really left me breathless. Not to mention the action Shane gets in. Just epic!
As I said before, this was my first trio from Sasha Leone, but it will be definetly not the last. This woman knows how to write a damn good Mafia Romance.

Cruel Knight is book 3 in the Brutal Reign Series. We finally got Shane and Tara's story. I have been waiting for this book since I met them in Merciless Prince { Merciless Prince } (Book 1). This is what I would consider friends to lovers trope. This is the love story of a drug addict and an Irish mafia man. Tara and Shane had been friends since Rian, Shane's father, rescued Tara from the men who murdered her drug-addict parents and took her in as one of his own. For Tara, it was love at first sight. She feels for Shane before he even knew she existed. After going against the Kilpatricks' orders twice and falling back into her addiction, Tara felt like an unloved, trapped burden. With the help of her friend Mary and a man who goes by Kasper Felix, she escapes the Irish men, or so she thought. After she leaves, Shane is confronted with his feelings for her and can no longer fight against them. He had to get his girl back.
Sasha Leone has done it again! This book had the action, the drama, the plot twists, and the thing we all love the most, the steam! As much as Tara tried, she couldn't run away from her problems, instead, she just ran into more. Shane found her selling herself at the devil's auction and 'outbids' everyone and buys Tara. (Shoutout to my man Roman for helping him.) Shane wanted to save Tara, but who was he trying to save her from? Herself? Him? Or the demons that lurked in the dark?
I will admit, the couple annoyed me one or two times. Tara would say she feels alone and no one loves her, but then gets mad at the Kilpatricks and push them away when they tried to love her. (Lowkey I understand where she is coming from though). Shane got on my nerves because he was the type of guy who fucked first and communicates after. He was like, I'm gonna tell you something that is going to change your life forever, and bring back trauma but hey, let me stick it in first, then I'll tell you. He did get her ice cream after though so I guess he made up for it a little.
Since I met Roman, I fell in love with him. The way I live for his friendship with Shane. It made me smile a lot. Oh, and side note, I love that Shane took Tara for 'shooting practice' at the end of the book. I'd say she has perfect aim. Now back to my baby Roman. I'm so excited for his and Mary's book. Imma be honest, I lowkey hoped for Mary to be a psycho badass and become something like Harley Quinn. It would just match Roman's personality so well! I hope she wouldn't be afraid to get her hands dirty...or bloody if you know what I mean. I don't think that's the type of girl she is, so I'm not gonna get my hopes up. I'll love her just the way she is.
Now, read the next sentence as if I'm shouting. I WOULD LOVE A NOVELLA ABOUT BREE AND RIAN!! It would be like a prequel. Imagine if it ended with them saying something like "I will love you till the day I die." Or "Not even death could keep us apart my love, we will always find a way back to each other, even as old souls." UGH! Just imagine! * sigh *
We're currently in Cruel Knight and secrets from the past are being uncovered. Demons from the past are returning, and it isn't to make peace. War is still to come. This book just features the battles before the real thing. Who will come out on top? Let's hope it's the Irish.

She was left on her own as a child, her parents had other more important things on their mind that raising their daughter and showing her love and care. That didn’t make it any easier on her when tragedy struck, and her parents were taken from her. Her life was in jeopardy as well, but she had a savior show up and take her to safety and give her the life she should have had. Tara Whelan was nothing more than a feral child in the woods of the Catskills when she was a young girl, but when the Kilpatrick’s rescue her and give her a new lease on life she moves with them as they regain their place in the mafia and New York.
Shane Kilpatrick has protected and cared for Tara ever since the day his father brought her into the cabin the Catskills. They grew up together and were best friends, but when they got older, the found that their feelings began to change. Shane had his mind set on his path in life and one tragic story made him rethink how he wanted to proceed. That change in mindset and fear led to a whole new tragedy for Tara and Shane and now he has to locate her, bring her home, prove to her that he wants to be in her life and make sure that she stays this time.
I enjoyed this tragic story of a childhood love that had so many issues that they almost lost each other multiple times. Tara is in self-destruct mode and trying to find her place in the world, while Shane is a man fighting for his place in the family business and trying to come to terms with his love. These two have a lot of history and when the past comes back looking for vengeance, they are both in the crossfire and will need to work together to make it out alive. This story is action packed, angsty, tragic and a great read. I give the book a 5-star review and I look forward to Roman and Mary’s book.

I loved it and the ending gives Shane and Tara a HFN ending that leads into the next dark story with Roman and Mary (Tara’s rehab friend). Tara has a broken childhood and even though she was saved by Shane’s parents and his other brothers Tara felt alone and broken, no matter what the others helped her with. But she was more broken when Shane said the words that lead to her spiral.
Shane is a hard man, youngest brother and son of the Irish family, no matter how they survived, they always support each other, loved each other and protect their loved ones and will fight to gain power and strength in wars. If their father can clean the streets of New York City of Polish evils just imagine what 3 of his sons can accomplish with reaches in other states as well. But Shane can’t focus on his job when his dark heart and soul are finding and getting back his once best friend and soon to be more if his heart is telling him right. Tara is his but he needs to fight himself and her to get their trust back into each other but who and what will stop them from continuing on with their reunion and fighting back to win a war that’s brewing....

Just when you think the series can’t get any better, I am proven wrong. This is the 3rd book in the Brutal Reign series and it does not disappoint! This is the story of Shane and Tara. Shane is a member of the Irish mafia. He is the youngest of the brothers, can be reckless, hardheaded and most of all dangerous. But he has another side to him when it comes to Tara. Tara was taken in by the Kilpatrick family when she was 8 years old after her parents were murdered. Tara was broken, alone but yet she was also strong and feisty. Circumstances tore them apart, but Shane wasn’t about to let her go for good.
There were so many aspects to this story that had me drawn in from the beginning. I could not put my kindle down until I finished the book. It was a great story with great characters. It had action, romance, passion, betrayal, deceptions, rivalry, facing your fears, loyalty and family. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series involving Valentina’s brother and Tara’s friend Mary from the rehab center. I got a hint of slow burn while reading this book. Nonetheless, Shane and Tara kept me on my toes. I couldn’t wait for them to get together after so much angst and tease. Tara is a strong woman, trying to stay sober after being rehabilitated for drug abuse. Shane does everything when it comes to Tara with the most caring intentions. Even when she doesn’t like him doing so.
Tara has spent years trying to escape Shane’s grasp. Shane is not willing to let her go. Not after he’s saved and bought her from an auction where she was beaten to look “desirable.” The more time she spends with Shane, she realizes she doesn’t need drugs. She has Shane. Shane is her drug - her strongest addiction.
Shane had left Tara go thinking it would keep her safe. But Tara turned to drugs once again to cope with the unfortunate series of events from her young life and Shane’s disappearance. Shane always has an eye on her - even when she escaped the rehabilitation center trying to get away from him.

I've been ready for Shane & Tara's story from the jump since they were part of the supporting cast of his other brothers books & even though I knew it would be intense, I just didn't know at the same time. Their dark journey was full of so much feelings, and so much outside forces only adding in chaos that didn't do anyone any favors. Tara's demons are mean as hell, which is why she's trying to stay under the radar so Shane can't find her, but somehow she missed the mark by a lot, as Shane wasn't about to let her stay gone, he would track her down to the ends of the earth. It had her making some questionable decisions that could prove to be her downfall, as the world they're all involved in is brutal, but luckily (or unluckily to her) she has Shane covering her six. I'm fully aware this review is vague AF, but I'm not about to give things away because it only has the punch to the feels & the shock of the f-bomb worthy twists when you actually experience it for yourselves! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is the 3rd book in this amazing series and is Shane and Tara’s story. Tara has had a tough childhood until she is rescued by Shane’s parents and brothers. Shane and Tara are best friends, and Shane is the youngest son of the Irish crime family, and he is controlling, domineering, and protective, but Tara sees through his façade to see the caring and loving person he is inside. All it takes is some cruel words by Shane and their relationship turns to being enemies, and Tara is sent on a downward spiral. The chemistry between these two is combustible and undeniable. This is a well written story which is raw, gritty, intense, and with survival, suspense, danger, intrigue, and love. This is one of those story’s which I just had to devour in one sitting, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This is the third book in this series by this author. This is the story of Tara and Shane, they have a friends to lovers romance story which is explosive whenever they are together. This is a epic romance story from start to finish. This is an intense story filled with action, romance, passion, betrayal, loyalty and family. This is such a gripping read you will not be able to put this book down till the last page, you will be reading long into the night with this book.

This book took me on such a twisted journey! I didn't want it to end. This has a really detailed mafia plot which has continued on from previous books and let's just say that the plot thickens, new enemy's come to light and everything feels a lot more intense....it was honestly brilliant!
Shane was such a hot head...but his love for Tara was so unique and different, I loved the way he was domineering, controlling and protective on the outside, but his internal thoughts were caring, sensitive and loving!
Can't wait to read Romans story next!!

Cruel Knight by Sasha Leone is book Three in the Brutal Reign Series. This is the story of Shane and Tara. I have read the previous books which did add to my enjoyment of this one. But you can make it a standalone book if you wish to do so. Tara has had a really hard start to life but Shane had become her light in darkness until he wasn't anymore. Shane though his actions where to help her but he hasn't been able to move on. When he saves her again this time he plans on keeping her. This has been a page turning read along with this series. I can't wait for more from this author and this series.

Cruel knight is book 3 in the Brutal reign series and is shane and tara’s story. After running away from rehab, Tara finds herself alone and desperate to put her pst behind her. Shane, However won’t let her slip through his fingers and enlists his fellow mafia friends to bring her home. When information regarding Tara’s parents death come to light, a lot more secrets and entanglements also make themselves known.
I was so glad to finally get this story. Shane and Tara are soulmates who have been through hell and back and deserve so much happiness. Cruel knight is well written and the series just keeps getting better and better

Shane and Tara's story will send you on a whirlwind ride. Best friends turned enemies with a kiss and words, can they ever be taken back? Book 3 in the series and can be read standalone but who would want to miss out this great series! The story grabs your attention and the characters burst with emotions and sizzle with chemistry.

Cruel Knight is book three in the Brutal Reign Series by Sasha Leone. It was a high angst, emotional rollercoaster of a ride with two broken people whose lives are so interwoven that it seems imperative that need to find their way back to other. The story is extremely well written and while it can be read as a standalone, there are overarching story arcs that would be appreciated more if read after the first two books. Shane and Tara are clearly meant for each other and their smexy times nearly lit my kindle on fire. Can’t wait for the next book!

Yup, as epic as I thought it would be! Tara and Shane were on fire in Cruel Knight! Shane was perfect and everything I could ask for in an alpha man. Tara was a strong as woman who handled her business and didn’t let her past get her down. This story was intense, never let me look away, and was hot as hell. Get on this series, they’ve all been so good in different ways.

Shane is awesome. I love how Shane and Tara are totally brilliant together. This is at least as good as the earlier books in this series. I just immersed myself totally, right from the first pages and sank into their story.

Cruel Knight brings us the story of Tara (whom we have had in the past two books) and Shane (the youngest brother). I had high hopes for this book, but it didn't meet everything that I had for it. I loved Tara and all the problems she had in the past two books and she has come so far in her issues I was happy to see that.
Shane knew he was a problem of Tess's but it seemed to be a selfish reason to keep at her for a relationship, even when she runs away from him to try a life away from the family she has always lived with. But Tess will show Shane that she is a lot stronger than he will ever know.
I am not a huge fan of second chance stories, and although some would say this isn't one, I feel that it is. There is way too much history between Tess and Shane for it not to be. However, I still read this one because I really do enjoy this series. I can't wait to see what is next for us.

Tara was taken in by the family when she was a child because her parents were murdered. Shane and Tara grew close but something tore them apart and now Shane plans on getting her back and buys her at a Devil’s auction. Will they get beyond what happened in the past and move forward? Can Shane keep her safe? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and steam. Great characters with sizzling chemistry and an entertaining and emotional story. I liked it.

I think this is my favorite in the series this far because I love the deep past connection between Tara and Shane. The storyline was filled with suspense and intrigue and once these two get together they are hot. I love the the series storyline as well and am excited for more.
