I really enjoyed the freshness and modernness of this tale, and I liked the characters, generally. Good pace, although a bit bumpy, and the ending gives a strong push towards a sequel. Unfinished business here, looking forward to the next in the series.

I recently read "Sara's Gift (Waterfront #2)" and enjoyed it. So when "Mara's Choice" became available at my local library, I decided to grab it.

It's an engrossing story with a satisfying ending, but it's almost the same story; girl(s) from England travel to Western Australia to stay for a period, meet new people .. and you can pretty much guess the rest.

I also picked up "Finding Cassie"; wondering whether that will be different.

This book started off quite well. The life in London quite believable and interesting. However, as Mara flew to Perth the depth of the story was left behind. It all became too good to be true, despite the sub-plot around Peggy having some depth.

As for the ending, it was all a bit too neat and conveniently worked out well for 'the goodies' and deservedly not well for 'the baddies'. Ahhhh that's escapism for you. An easy and quick read

A pleasant enough read if a little predictable. Mara has a letter from her biological father, she had always been told he was dead. she travels to Australia to meet him. He is married with two step children, one of which is quite troubled. Mara meets next door neighbour and there is an instant attraction.
