A luxury retail empire with a dirty secret. A hot security guy with a murky past. Can Eliza keep her hands clean when she falls for them both?
When I land a job as PR Director for Jackson’s, London’s brand new luxury department store, I can’t believe my luck. But the deeper into the business I go, the dirtier the secrets I discover. Mariella Jackson is not the retail angel I thought she was. And the business I’m selling is a lie. So, when the dark and intoxicating Sam Le Beux appears from nowhere, I have to wonder if it is fate that sent me the distraction, or Mariella. We fall for each other hard and fast, Or at least I think we do, Until he disappears. My heart aches but my head knows it’s for the best Because Sam’s story is darker than I could ever have imagined.
I am a Brit indie romance author who writes about love worth fighting for.
I live in the rural south of England with my husband, daughter and crazy sprockapoo.
Until recently, I inhabited the fast-paced, adrenalin-fuelled workplaces I write about, as a communications professional. Now I spend my days dreaming up new characters and stories and trying not to lose my marbles as the mother of a spirited preschooler.
I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review. I can honestly say I have never read a book by any other author who can write an office romance like January does. Her books always go deeper than just the romance. This book had a fantastic storyline which had me wondering where the story was heading. It was completely unpredictable. I loved all characters, whether they were the main characters Eliza, Sam, Jay and Mariella or the secondary characters. I loved the whole concept as it was completely different to what I was expecting. I can honestly say that towards the end my heart felt so sad and empty, it really got to me. My heartstrings were definitely pulled. I thoroughly recommend this book if you enjoy an office romance with a difference, lots of steamy scenes and a great storyline.
This book is AMAZING in capital letters, it had me on edge, and let me tell you I love every minute of it♥️! This book tells us the story of Eliza, Jay and Sam, and even tho Sam doesn’t have POVs in the book, he is certainly a big part of it ✨! Jay and Eliza are friends, and want to be much more, but he can’t, he has a long time girlfriend, and he is no cheater, so they agree to wait, but then... that never goes as planned! Eliza is waiting patiently, but it’s getting worried and Jay can’t seem to get himself away from his girlfriend, not that he wants to be with her, but he decides that it’s time to set Eliza free... something he would immediately regret! Eliza is devastated and humiliated and goes out with Sam, an American, who might as well be part of the Fast and Furious franchise by the way he acts, and she knows there’s something shady there, she just knows, but they are drawn to each other, like the moot to the flame... and they are fire 😍 The relationship is beautiful and new, and exciting and consuming, she knows she is in too deep, but he is too, he explains to her the fact that he has never been this way before, and it is beautiful to watch them fall in love. Jay is not happy, and it’s concern about her, he wants the best for her, he wants to protect her even from Sam... and that takes us to a big turn in the story... This book has so much beautiful messages, like friends are important no matter what, family will always be there, and love can be found in difficult places and in complicated people♥️✨! This book it’s about the growth of the characters, the way feelings evolve and put people where they are meant to be✨! A plus... we get to see Zac and Marcus😍! I mean that’s a huge plus on my book!
So guys I highly recommend this book... it’s sort of a love triangle, but I had my loyalties declared early on... TEAM SAM😍♥️!
I was not expecting that ending omg.! This book has shocked me a lot. It’s absolutely brilliant. 🤍🤍
I literally started this last night and finished it this morning. I did get a bit of sleep but once I started this book I honestly couldn’t stop. I picked up my kindle this morning before my phone😲 This is definitely her best book yet. I absolutely love the way she writes office romances, it’s very different to anything I’ve read before. The details in this book are incredible. The story definitely went in a direction I didn’t think it would go, it really surprised me and kept me on my toes where normally these types of romances don’t do that.
The book is so hot, it is seriously steamy.... It’s got to be one of the hottest books I’ve read in ages. It gave me all the feels🥰
It can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading the first book in the series A Class At. Marcus is so yummy.

Chasing Flames is the third book in the Square Mile Series by January James. This is the story of Eliza, Sam, and Jay. It is mostly told from Eliza and Jay's point of view but Sam has a bigger impact on the book than Jay. This book shows you the end of what could have been an amazing love story between Eliza and Jay but just wasn't meant to be. Instead, love has a plan of his own and twisted the book into an interesting love story between Eliza and Sam. Jay and Eliza always liked each other more than friends but could never be together because something was always in the way, whether it be a manipulative girlfriend or not know if feelings were reciprocated. Sam and Eliza weren't even supposed to fall in love. Looks like cupid paid a visit to Jacksons. This book is a page-turner and surprisingly unpredictable. Eliza's brilliance and beauty, Jay's amazing techy investigative skills, and Sam's attractive shady behaviour, blunt 'I don't care what you think' attitude, and his rock-hard abs made the perfect combination for an amazingly well-written book.
Holy fucking Shit! What the fuck did I just read. Damn, I have so much to say but I'm also at a loss for words. Well let me be honest, I had the same problem with this book as I did book 1. The beginning didn't intrigue me as much as I wished it did. However, just like book 1, the rest of the book made up for it. The book was from Eliza, Jay, and Sam's point of view. I'm not gonna lie that kind of confused me. Like if Eliza and Sam are the main characters and are gonna get their happily ever after then why are we getting so much of Jay's point of view and not Sam. It made sense after I read the book though. It was for the element of surprise. January James has a different style of writing that I'm not accustomed to. It takes me a little while to get used to it but when I do I immediately fall in love with the books and its characters. It was also kind of Jay's story in a way. Thinking about it now...all of these females were kickass until it came to a man. I'm sorry but I don't care how much I love the man, if he has a girlfriend, who is toxic by the way, and he isn't willing to drop her, imma drop him. Also maybe I'm just a little heartless but I would have dropped Laura's ass in a mental hospital and left. I hate when someone does that. Threaten their own life just so someone wouldn't leave them. I've been in a situation like that and it's messed up. That is another level of manipulation. I also hated when El went and practically asked Jay for permission to go on a date with Sam. Is he your father? No. Is he your brother? No. Is he your man? Noo! So don't ask for his permission. The fuck. The toxic in me hated that. I wanted her to use the fact that she was going out with Sam to make him jealous but that's what I wanted. Eliza isn't like that and in a way, he was extremely jealous, she just didn't make him feel so intentionally. I loved Sam from the beginning just for the fact about how blunt he was and his "I don't care what others think" attitude. The looking like Jason Statham was just a bonus. The way they described him in this book! "He looks – and behaves – more like the ‘screw me over and I’ll nail you to the wall’ type." That's exactly how I like my men. I have a huge thing for bad boys, watch me end up single forever. I loved the fight scene when Sam single-handedly took down three men. I read that scene as a teaser and it made me fall in love with the book right then and there. But then they started fucking. I could not take it seriously for shit. I was laughing at how absurd it was to me. I loved how one dude woke up and asked if they were screwing. It did get a chuckle out of me. I loved how the sex scene started though. She kissed him and licked the blood off his lip. I may possibly have a tiny knife and blood kink. Nothing too serious though. Like if I see my man bleeding I'm gonna take a second and be like "He looks kinda fine." Then run and immediately make sure he is okay. As I continued to read things got a little cringey. I think it was Chapter 9. It was from Jay's point of view. He overheard them in a cafe. I found the lovey-dovey talk very cringey but maybe that's just because I'm single and salty, who knows? I was suspicious from the beginning. I found that they were are a happy couple in the early chapters. All I could think was "Shit is about to go downnn" because I think we all know it is never good when the couple gets together and is happy at the beginning of the book. You know immediately to prepare yourself for a plot twist or something. Sam made me fall in love with him so much that when the truth got out I wasn't even mad or hurt for too long. I was slightly taken back and shocked though. I immediately thought (after like 5 minutes) that he probably has a reasonable explanation. I HAVE AND ALWAYS WILL BE TEAM SAM! He literally made my standards so much higher than it already is. If my man doesn't give a birthday gift like Sam gave Eliza I am going to be extremely disappointed. When the reason behind why he actually asked Eliza on the date came out I was shocked. From there I refused to put the book down. I went all criminal minds on that bitch. I literally paid attention to every little detail and connected the dots on part of the ending. *SPOILERS AHEAD AS I TELL YOU THE PART OF THE ENDING THAT I PREDICTED CORRECTLY* Well for starters I connected the dots and instantly found out that Laura and Nathan were behind the kidnapping of Amy and that the baby was actually Nathan's and not Jay's. I also suspected that Sam was also trapped in the fire and was in the exact same hospital as Eliza. Everything else caught me a little of guard though. I had already suspected that Sam was actually Mariella's boss and not the other way around but damnnnnn. I didn't know it was that deep. I didn't even think about how shady the business actually was. Everything else that happened had my jaw dropped. I barely got time to recover from one unexpected thing before another happened. This book took "expect the unexpected" to another level. I sure as fucking hell did not expect that. I also, as much as I wanted to hate Jay, I loved him so much. He looked out so much for El. I sympathize with him a little. I was so sorry that he had to deal with Laura. This book felt like Oprah Winfrey was around. "You get jail time! You get jail time! Everyone (who deserved it) gets jail time!" (In in Sam Sr. Case...he got a well-deserved death.) I must say, usually, when stuff like this is involved I prefer to be on the illegal side. I love mafia. Everything about it fascinates me, including the coldheartedness of the characters. This book was an exception. I loved being on the right side in this case. Another fact I loved was that the men shamelessly cried in this book. LIKE YES. MEN CRY. Ughhh! I loved Sam and Eliza. All of January James heroines were my absolute favourite. I loved them so much. I was so happy we also got to see Marcus, Lottie, Zac, Jess, and Riya again. RIYA IS GAY! I did not see that coming. I'm so happy for her. I remember in my review for book 1 I said she deserved someone as well. I'm sad that Jay didn't find someone as well. He deserves endless happiness. (I would just like to say I know this review is all over the place, it's because it's my first thoughts about the book as soon as I read it. My brain is usually all over right after I read a book.) I'm so happy that Eliza got her dream come true. I am so freaking proud of her! I loved the ending of this book. Everything just fell into place. It has me in theoretical tears(because I never actually cry for books or movies) I can't explain how much I fucking love the book. It would be like how Sam and El confessed their love at the end of the book. "The book: I fucking love you Me: I fucking love you too"
Chasing Flames is the third book in the Square Miles series. Ok, how to start this review, first of all I would say that this is the best book in the series, seriously, January did a really great job with this one, second of all what the heck happened, it took me by surprise, like in a really pleasant way.
This book kept me on my toes, can you imagine a child eager and nervous to receive something and curious about that something, well that child was me. I was curious, always guessing where the story went, I even started to freak out at some point, I loved it.
Eliza is Jackson’s PR director, a luxury department store, located in the City. This store has a little time since it was opened, but it already started to be implicated in different scandals, and Eliza made all she could to save the face of the store, so she hired Jay to help her create an app, to help improving the image of the store. But then she also met Sam, the head of security, with whom she had instant chemistry. When things started to get muddy, secrets started to come on the surface, secrets which will change the lives of Eliza, Jay, and Sam.
Now, I don’t want to spoil anything, because this story should be read blindly, to experience all the feelings, but let me just tell you a secret: you will be like me. 😊
heartwrenchingly beautiful with love, passion, betrayal & steam!
𝓐 𝓵𝓸𝓿𝓮 𝓽𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝓬𝓪𝓷’𝓽 𝓱𝓪𝓹𝓹𝓮𝓷, 𝓫𝓮𝓬𝓪𝓾𝓼𝓮 𝓲𝓽 𝓬𝓸𝓾𝓵𝓭 𝓴𝓲𝓵𝓵."
What could possible happen when you meet a broody bad boy alpha at work but have feelings for your male best friend & adore the job you have!?
This journey absolutely took my breath away and was heartwrenchingly beautiful with love, passion, betrayal & steam!
Eliza is taken on one hella journey but damn her fierceness and sassy demeanor is beuatiful. Eliza is loyal to her job and when the need to protect it arises that what she does.
There is some serious saucy scenes within which leaves you blushing & feeling hot under the collar but HOT DAMN it i am so drawn to bad boy Sam but my heart is being sucked towards Jay.
"𝓨𝓸𝓾 𝓶𝓮𝓪𝓷 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝔀𝓸𝓻𝓵𝓭 𝓽𝓸 𝓶𝓮. 𝓣𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝓷𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻 𝔀𝓮𝓷𝓽 𝓪𝔀𝓪𝔂"
That ending absolutely broke my heart & then was pieced back together. My heart has finally calmed down & feels whole fot Eliza!
The third installment in the square mile series and damn January James is able to captive reel me in. Chasing flames storyline just sucks you in & is so different to what you expect. Thank you so much!
I recommend you set aside some serious reading time for this book because you won’t be able to put it down! I’ve read the first two books in The Square Mile series but must admit this was my overall favourite.
This book hit all the right buttons for me, It’s so well written with an incredible story that will keep you totally engrossed and second guessing to the very end.
All the characters are amazing, each with their own agenda and suck you in from the beginning. If like me you love smoking hot, steamy sex scenes you will not be disappointed..phew! this book has it tenfold....🔥🔥🔥omg! the chemistry between Eliza and Sam is intense, raw and passionate and I couldn’t wait to see where their relationship would go.
I loved everything about this book, it’s exciting, intriguing, sexy and full of drama! Definitely one for your TBR list. 🤩
I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.
An emotionally captivating Rollercoaster! Thank you for sharing this well thought descriptive story. I've added some really interesting words to my personal dictionary 😂
Grab your glass of wine and settle in for a book you can’t put down. Just when you think you are figuring out the love triangle, a big turn of events arise. From steamy romance to “who done it” mystery, you will be binge reading until you finish. The author knows how to bring reality into the romance novels we are wanting to read.
Another GREAT read from January James! Started reading it yesterday and didn't put it down till I finished it around 2am this morning! :)
It had me on edge.. it was full of intrigue and had many twists and turns! This is still a romance (this definitely had plenty of spicy/steamy scenes) BUT with some mystery and that thriller feel!
Our leading cast: Eliza, Sam & Jay. Eliza & Jay were former co-worker and are friends, Both are attracted to each other and want to be much more, but Jay can’t... he has a girlfriend and he is no cheater. Since knowing what each other want, they agree to wait till they get back home so he can break it off... but things never go as planned!
Several months later, Eliza (now a PR for a high class retailer) is helping open up a new store (Jackson's) in London. The owner, Mariella, decides to bring in new security team to oversee things. And who is the man in charge... Sam (an American, tattooed, bad boy, dressed in all black, who looks like he should be a part of the Fast & Furious franchise). Though Sam & Eliza butt heads on how things are handled, Sam is intrigued by her and asks her out. Eliza knowing something is shady with him, she still agrees. Her heart is in pieces knowing Jay won't leave his current girlfriend yet.
Sam & Eliza are drawn to each other.. their relationship is fast, furious, passionate, hot. Both cant explain it but know they are in way too deep and cant stop.
With success, there's always someone that throws a wrench in. An issue with quality comes up and in order to to overcome some negative press, Eliza hires Jay to come in to help and then develop a app. Though both still have feelings for each other, neither can act upon them so they continue on. As Jay continues to work on the app.. he discovers some "shady" activity hidden. From there, things began to unravel and secrets revealed.
Is Mariella has shady as its appearing? Why are shipments "disappearing"? Will Eliza finally end up with Jay OR will her and Sam's relationship be strong enough to survive? Can Eliza save Jackson's with all the negative news?
Note: Chasing Flames is the 3rd book of the series but it can be read as a standalone. - A couple characters from the previous books do make an appearance.. which is how I realized the connection of the books (I read book 1 - A Class Act a month ago). Even if you don't read the other 2, you will be fine!
January James, I have one thing to say to you. You made me fall for a bad man.
In book 3 of the Square Mile series, the focus is on Eliza and Jay. If you’ve read the previous books they were in those as well however if you haven’t you won’t be confused.
Jay and Eliza have always had a thing for one another. On a trip to LA, lines are blurred and almost crossed. The only problem was, Jay was in a long term relationship with someone else. On their way back to London, Jay decided that he was going to break off his relationship to be with Eliza but that comes to a halt when his girlfriend experiences a tragedy.
Eliza decides that she cannot wait for him and immerses herself in her work. Being a PR Director already took up most of her time so how would a relationship work? Eliza experiences a rude awakening in the form of a tall, dark, handsome and dangerous man who is hired as the main security guy for the luxury goods company she works for.
Her need to focus on work is interrupted when TDH (tall, dark & handsome) Sam, makes a mark on her heart. Even though his intentions weren’t innocent. Her love for Jay becomes more confusing and their friendship suffers. I loved Eliza. She was strong, empowering and so smart. She was such a go getter and I love that in my heroines. Jay...He confused me. I liked him but then I didn’t. I was all over the place. TDH...well...read the first line of this review. There is a HEA with a slight twist that will make you swoon.
Thank you January James for the eARC of Chasing Flames. It was your best work yet!
I just finished "Chasing Flames" and I am ecstatic! This is a book I was waiting for after the little glimpses I read of Eliza and Jay in "He Turned", so I had high expectations and January James far exceeded them. The story is different from what I imagined but I am very pleased with the development of it. The characters are wonderful and it was very easy to connect with them. Eliza is a calm, kind, sweet, dynamic and hard-working woman. Jay is very intelligent, quiet, good friend and practical, but he lacks power of decision. Their friendship is special, they connected immediately and there is an attraction; we can inferred in “He Turned”. But there is a new character: Sam Le Beux, he's quite a surprise. He's the mysterious character but not at the same time, lol. This man captivated me because well, he has a lot of testosterone! He is confident and very direct. He doesn't bite his tongue and is a man of action. He goes for all he wants. His accent, his T-shirts (he has a particular fashion style) and his Roman god physical are a plus to fall for him.
The story is a sort of love triangle but not too much. There are suspense, action, and moments of rising tension. As if that weren't enough, there are cameos of some characters from the other books and I loved that! It is always a delight to read about Marcus, Lottie, Zac and Jess. So, yes, I highly recommend this book.
I am a new reader to January James, so when I was offered the chance to read ‘Chasing Flames’ in exchange for an honest review, I jumped at the chance. This is the perfect reads for those who love a bit of love drama. It has everything! Forbidden romance, action, mystery, hot chemistry and unexpected twists which will have you guessing and page-turning.
James has a writing style which makes the story appear realistic. You are introduced to Eliza, who works doing PR for a famous fashion business. You learn of her heartache for a man who is unavailable and who has made endless amounts of promises to her. But Jay is not able to be with Eliza, so therefore focuses on building up his business, making his fortune and delivering the best product for his clients.
However, despite what the heart wants, Eliza is captivated by the burly intriguing Sam who has mystery and enigma all over him. He’s the bad guy you know the girl wants, and unfortunately entangling herself with him embroils Eliza into more than what she bargained for.
I loved the love triangle sort of romance, the intrigue around the dodgy dealings and potential scams, and the reality tv element of the book. It had a lot to keep you entertained as a reader, and to keep you guessing.
With an unexpected plot twist you will not want to miss out on this read.
Perfect for action romance lovers, and those who enjoy being kept on their toes.
While I was going through the first 5-10 chapters, I was convinced of giving this book 3 stars. The story, the characters, the plot and the fast paced life felt a bit too repetitive, and, although I personally love books of such plots and like to indulge in them from time to time, it did not feel like something new and worthy of anything above 3 stars. However, as the plot developed and I found myself sitting up and praying things do not go the way I do not want them to, I realized this one definitely deserves a four star. I have read my fair share of novels with the plot that I initially though this book had, but, in the end, I was proven wrong.
(Spoilers ahead!!!)
I very strongly wanted Eliza to somehow, at the end of the book, end up with Sam. At times, I felt the things to reach new heights of messed up and despair that there is no way Eliza-Sam is happening now. But, as the plot grew, and how expertly it grew bringing with it a fresh air of newness and something different from the usual which I was expecting, my emotions swung like a pendulum, from elation to disappointment and back again, until finally, FINALLY, it happened.
WOW,WOW,WOW What a fantastic ending to a fantastic series. 😍 I was lucky to receive an advanced copy for this book and it had me on edge everytime I was reading it. I was looking forward to reading this story about Eliza & Jay after reading snippets of them both in the series and knew there was chemistry there, but this book was definitely not I was expecting 😁 Eliza & Jay have been friends for a long time but they want more, he has a girlfriend and does not want to go any further till he ends his relationship but nothing goes to plan. Eliza is waiting but in the end Jay let's her go, Eliza is upset and ends up going out on a date with Sam, she knows he is a shady character but the chemistry is on fire. Jay is not happy but he had his chance and never took it. This book had twists and turns that I never expected and keep me reading, sad that this series has ended but I am now looking forward to whats coming next 😁 definitely a must read ❤
Chasing Flames by January James is the third book in the Square Miles series. All three books focus on characters who've worked together and are successful in their professional lives, but still struggling to find "the one." Eliza's a public relations expert, working hard to launch the opening of a luxury department store in the UK, owned by CEO Mariella Jackson. Eliza's still reeling from her experience with Jay, a coworker turned friend turned possible lover but they've had to put their romance on hold because of other obligations. In the time that Eliza and Jay are apart, Eliza meets Sam, an American who has murky ties to Mariella and a questionable role/job in the company. Despite this, Eliza can't help but feel a sort of carnal attraction to Sam, and they become involved in a passionate relationship.
All of James' books in the series kind of centered on a love triangle, but I really liked this one so much more than the other two because the feelings of the characters are a little bit clearer. You can clearly see Eliza's conflicted feelings about the two very different men in her life and how she wants to be appreciated and loved, you can sense Jay's guilt but also his desire for Eliza, and you can feel Sam's passion for Eliza but also recognize his obligation to his job. There was romance, but also suspense as the readers try to figure out what Sam's role is at the company and how loyal he really is to Eliza, and whether or not Mariella is innocent or a villain. I do appreciate that the author was much more explicit about this group and their feelings, and that the couple who earned their HEA truly deserved and want to be with each other. The plot with Mariella may have hinted at some mafia ties, and that would've been a side story worth expanding and making clear in the story. Overall, a satisfying ending for me knowing that the couple I rooted for went through some hardships but still chose each other in the end.
January James what can I say this is an outstanding book another all nighter as I just had to continue to read and read.
The story line is wonderful the writing is superb ,that as a reader your drawn into every sentence not wanting to miss anything ..
Full of intrigue , many twists and turns , sensuality in abundance with a sex life to be wish for … The characters are real I could feel and see them as this is how January James writes , bringing all her stories to life ….
Square Mile book 1 A Class Act is 5 stars plus more.
Square Mile book 2 He Turned is 5 stars plus more .
Square Mile book 3 Chasing Flames is another 5 stars plus more …
There is so much I want to say about the story but I cannot as its best to go in knowing hardly anything . January James where have you been all my life...
This book is everything I never expected. Here’s what I’m learning about January James, she likes flipping everything around and never stays inside a certain box, and I love that! This is a book you start thinking, I’m so excited to see where this couple goes, and then you’re slapped upside your head with a story line you never saw coming but is so much better than you expected. If you want a book that delivers the unexpected, this is the book for you! I absolutely love this book! There is so much I want to say about it, but I hate spoilers, and anything other than, expect the unexpected is a spoiler. This is part of a series, however, it’s not necessary to read the others to understand this one. Now I need a moment to get over the ride this book took me on!
Told by both Jay and Eliza it seemed a simple 'friends to lovers' story. But that is not the case at all. There are multiple stories woven together across the intoxicating worlds of fashion, PR and technology.
I was gripped. This is not just a loose plot with a lot of sex, but a proper story with drama, suspense and sex. There are plenty of twists and turns and although a few are predictable it does still manage to surprise and delight. The writing flows easily and I read it in one sitting.
Parts of it are slightly unrealistic, but I don't think many people want to read about disappointing or average sex! This book would have been compelling even without the sex, but having these as well made it even more enjoyable.
James writes convincingly about business, drawing from her own experiences (although I admit that I was slightly jealous of the characters being so successful in their 20s) and all the sex scenes are hot and steamy.
I look forward to reading her other books and watching her writing develop with interest!
Chasing Flames is the 3rd book by January James in the Square Mile series although they can be read as standalones.
This book has been my fave in the series so far. I could not put this book down and read it in one sitting. I thought I knew where the storyline was going then boom it headed in an unexpected direction and I loved every twist and turn.
I could go on and on about this book but I won't because I don't want to give you any spoilers plus it is better to go in reading this book without knowing too much about the characters. Love this series and I'm so glad that I've found January James.
ARC Review: I really enjoyed this book, Chasing Flames is the 3rd book of the Chasing series but it can be read as a standalone. I flew through this book as it built up towards the ending. As she built new relationships and lost some aswell.. plenty of drama and a unexpected ending also. This book had plenty of passion including the spice scenes. Recommended for readers who like fast paced office romance and a little bang to finish it off.
4.5⭐️ When I first started this book, I honestly had no idea what to think. It’s my first January James book and I’m impressed. I really enjoyed it. It kept me wondering and guessing; I couldn’t put it down. And it kept me hoping I wasn’t rooting for the wrong guy. 😏 The passion in this book is off the charts. I was pleasantly surprised and now need to read the first two books in the series.
I’m nearly at a loss for words as to how good this book was. I was totally engrossed in this story! All the characters, plot lines & twists are insanely good! January James knocks it out of the park with the third instalment of the Square Mile Club 🔥😍💜
Wow this book was amazing . January James is amazing writer. Eliza, Sam & Jay they way these three are intertwined in a way that makes you want to keep reading. This story has so many twist that has you wanting to read more.
WOW, this was an absolute emotional roller coaster ride full of twists, passion and mystery. Great ending to the Square Mile book series. The outcome was not what I expected but you can’t control who you fall in love with ❤️
January James is amazing, talented writer and I can’t wait what is next to come!
This is definitely five start for me and I would recommend this to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow. I havent finished a book in under 24 hours in a long time. I absolutely love love love this story! It's a bit fast paced and its apart of a series also but I wasn't confused at all for not reading the first books before this one. Each character is amazing and well written and I immediately loved Jay and Eliza and then bam that halted for sour reasons and then again BAM... Sam pops up.. Hey there mysterious man I love you. !!! There was a lot going on in the book. I love the plot. The many schemes in this book were really good and straight forward. It wasn't hard figuring out what would happen but I was very weary if feelings were genuine, and I kept expecting the worst to happen at any moment when I was reading. I kept expecting men to do something wild and shocking. There are many surprises in the story. Alot of sketchy characters too! The only thing I was missing is a very raw personal connection to Sam. I loved the book had Eliza and Jay reading parts but I was missing Sam ! I wish I could read from Sam's POV too. That would've been just so amazing. I already was feeling so close to both Eliza, Jay and Sam but I feel like I wanted to be closer to Sam. All in all this was a goodread!!! Had to have been if I read it so dang fast!!! I love it. Thanks ** for this book ! Now I want to read the other books!
As with January’s other novels, it’s no surprise that I was sucked in and couldn’t put it down.
That scene in the coffee shop between Eliza and Jay broke my heart. I was heart broken for both of them. However, no matter how bad I feel for Jay, that chemistry between Sam and El is something else! This is definitely a must read!
El’s heart is soaring when the book begins, only to have all hope quickly dashed when Jay doesn’t leave Laura. Eliza begins her née job and quickly things go awry, throwing Sam into El’s life with a gusto. Sam’s a bad boy with a no nonsense exterior, he gives vague answers and leaves the rest to your imagination. The commentary alone between El and him is swoon worthy.
Can Sam be trusted, or is something shady happening? Jay certainly seems to think so, and the reader will agree. There are many different catastrophes that happen at Jackson’s, each one making Mariella and Sam look more shady than the last.
Its a twisting tale of love with lies, deceit, money laundering, kidnapping, drug running and more. It’s guaranteed to keep you reading. The ending is well written and left me feeling fulfilled. The only thing I would suggest, is more beta readers. Definitely worth the read!
