Saving Michael, the debut book by Mary Ann Bowes, is a must read for any mystery fan. Mary Ann artfully takes readers on a heart-stopping adventure into the plight of the Wallace family. The story was captivating and makes the book difficult to put down. Throughout the story, Mary Ann's close writing intimately introduces the characters to the readers--it truly feels like you've known some of them your whole life. The characters--save for a few bad apples--are likable and relatable. You root for Michael every step of the way. His triumphs are your triumphs, and his losses are your losses. As the novel winds through its twists and turns, your jaw is sure to drop at times. A true joy to read. I'm looking forward to picking up her second book soon!
I read a large portion of this book in one sitting, unable to tear myself away until I could find out what happened to Father Michael. The characters and their relationships are both interesting and believable. The twist was the best sort of twist. I would recommend this book to others!
