Most of us are aware about the #MeToo movement. It was a movement against sexual abuse and sexual harassment. The motive of this movement was to empower women, transform them into a fearless warrior and raise their voice for the oppression they are going through.

'#MeToo' by Karan Puri is a collection of five short stories dealing with child abuse, sexual violence in families or at work place. This book discusses on how many children in our country on daily basis are forced to perform venereal act by elders and their voice remain un-raised out of fear. It further questions on are women really safe at late night parties or at their working places. How educated people fall in the trap and are forced to work as sex workers. And wait, we still live in a society where we believe only women face assault every now & then, but it happens with men as well, but unfortunately we never get to hear their side of the story. This book did justify to men as well.

After reading the book, I can't even imagine how brutal our society is, and also I am not in a state to review it. All I could say that it's definitely a must-read book as for awareness purpose.

Disclaimer and Trigger Alert:
This article is about my own reading experience being an independent reader.
This book is an account by the author which speak about how heart wrenching the real ordeals were but as few scenes are raw and brutal so few may act as triggers for some.
_______________________
This is a collection of 6 short stories. Sexual harassment has been going on for hundreds of years. Women are seen as the vulnerable gender and when they go through such ordeals they society silences them. But with #metoo movements thousands spoke up. These stories that touch different points in this spectrum effectively burst another bubble of myth. They paint the fact that the word 'Me' in #metoo is not limited to one gender but it is for an individual who may be from any gender possible, age or economic background.

A story that puts question mark on who can be truly trusted if the devil lurks inside the closest of all a kid learns to trust. Another one tells about the healing process of a high performance man hidding a similar past. Few more paints the existence of this heinous crimes in work places and places where in the name of religious-spiritual healing self-claimed godmen take advantage of others.

Their painful journey alongside their healing process has been been highlighted which act as a reminder of our rights to speak up against wrong and not be remain silent and give a way to it in anyway.

Sexual harassment is a topic which has to spoken about boldly and create awareness among the young generation so as to save and safeguard themselves against any mishaps happening to them. In recent times, we would have came across an hashtag #metoo in almost all the social platforms. This hashtag acted as a let out for many victims who had undergone sexual harassment.

This book also speaks about such topics. It is a collection of six short stories of different women who had undergone sexual harassment. Each and every story personally affected me as to how much a girl or lady or a woman has to go through just because they are born with feminine body parts !

Though it is a sensitive topic, these kinds of writings are most needed at this point of time. Irrespective of age, financial status, educational status any woman can go through this at any time. In many cases, the abuser is not from the outer circle, instead, the close ones do it. A justice given years after the crime is not of any use. Whereas an immediate action should be taken and the molester had to be punished.

Though the read was a bit emotional and mentally disturbing for me, we have to accept that this what the reality is.

Me too , this book highlights the real life issues faced by the people in the society. Here the author described many stories how women infact not only women starting from small child how girls are harrassed and abused sexually.
It is not that easy to share that pain, these are the real life situations of girls and how they are facing these issues and while complaining about them the questions asked by the people are really not tolerable.
While reading you all will definitely will feel how tough it will be to face those situation.
This book also shows the problems with our systems not only in case of justice but also in education system, thinking way of society...
