Brydon Hawthorne and Princess Lylianna Massoulieu have known each other for many years. Their relationship could be best described as challenging. Whenever they meet, they argue therefore neither thinks they could be happy with each other.
Both are betrothed to others, but Lylianna wants to have at least one adventure before marrying. When Brydon declines her request for a place on his ship, she steals their stable hand's clothing and smuggles herself on board.
Unfortunately she's discovered and almost raped before Brydon received information about her being a stowaway on his ship.
When time goes by, they begin to care for each other more than just friends and fall in love. But Lylianna's fiance won't have any of it and blackmailes her into their marriage.
Will Brydon and Lylianna find a way to each other or is all lost? Read this captivating novel to find out.

Although their parents were close friends, Brydon Hawthorne and Lylianna Massoulieu disliked one another as children. As they grew up, they were still distrustful of each other but Brydon was stunned by her beauty. Lylianna was headstrong and did as she liked but was very much aware of Brydon.

When she stowed away on his ship, they acted on their mutual attraction and he wanted to marry her. She loved him but her fiance needed the money her dowry would bring him and threatened to have Brydon hang for the deaths of the sailors if she didn't go through with the wedding. Brydon thought he had been used and was furious with her.

It took family members to get the two together and problems ironed out so that they could marry. A cute love story of two people who loved each other but were too stubborn to admit it.

Thank you Goodreads for the book.

The characters are compelling, and I've loved following these interconnected tales. However, the poor spelling, grammar, and misuse of words has gotten worse each book in this series. This was the last I'll read from this author.

Although I normally love this genre, I just really had a difficult time finishing this book.

The story line of the book was good, but the dynamics between the H and h were troubling. They both were controlled by an all consuming sexual draw to each other, which was hard for me to believe. Many times when the h said no to the sex, the H continued to seduce her. Then later in the day, they would speak to each other is mean and selfish ways. The H annoyed me with his purposeful goading of the h. It was hard to believe that after being embarrassed and annoyed by him, the h could then just fall into the H’s arms and bed. Then after he had goaded her and she would be unhappy, the H would become concerned and ask her what was wrong. The ole, “You know you love me so it’s okay for me to seduce you. Then I’m going to taunt you and embarrass you because you’re being so difficult.” I felt like, “What am I not understanding here? Why is this supposed to he likable?”
