Chrysalis- the third season of Dust is probably the best - I’d not most addictive and riveting podcasts out there.I was blown away to find Serrano doesn’t have a long history writing sci-fi. I would love more from this writer and it would be awesome to purchase a hard copy of Chrysalis.
What a joy this discovery was! Listened to it as part of the DUST STUDIOS Audiobook version, freely available as Podcast or on Youtube, with phenomenal voice acting including Toni Collette and god damn Lance Reddick! Short, concise, fresh, and produced with super high production values. Amazing. Sadly, the story itself felt a little bit shallow at the end - I would have loved to see this expanded - it gave me the Mass Effect Vibes I needed and always wanted.
Highly recommend listening to the podcast instead of reading the book. It’s not like an audiobook but closer to listening to a movie with excellent voice actors and background music. Very different than any other sci-fi media I have consumed.
I read it before on Reddit r/hfy and I liked it. And this podcast is an exact adaption of it with small changes like the end which I love it, pravo. I wish there is more good short stories/novels from alien pov.
Flipping sci-fi on its head, this book makes you root for "monster from the stars." By making Terran a humanoid allows for one to feel for him while also wishing for his demise. SPOILER: The ending of this is so satisfying and leaves you with a mixed feeling of a desire to know more about the future of this universe while also knowing there is nothing more that needs to be said.

Fast-paced, original, strongly recommended. Hard sci-fi novella in the form of a top-notch audio podcast. Writing, acting, and production are among the best in the business.
I've listened to this thing three times. Vividly written, brilliant premise, complex characters, no barely veiled political agenda from the author. Pure sci fi enjoyment.
Amazing story. Addictive. I listened to the Dust audiobook version on Spotify. It was way better designed and written than the most of the sci-fi books I listened to on paid platforms.
