He was never one to believe in fate and such romantic notions. He's a product of careful plotting and planning. If there's a job that needs doing, he makes sure it gets done right. And somehow, all his wrong-doings lead him to her one fateful night. She's stunning, an enchantress in a tiny body. Everything that he didn't know he wanted because she's everything he knows he doesn't deserve.
Frankie Hoang
Her life is filled with routine and staying busy. Friends kept her company during the day and though nights are lonely, they weren't that bad. That is, until one cold night when things go horribly wrong yet horribly right at the same time. Suddenly, her world is turned upside down. Nights become lonelier and the monotony of daily life isn't working anymore. He's a thief in the night. She shouldn't be feeling this way toward him. That logic flew out the window the moment he marked her with his kiss.
**This is the first book in The Home Trilogy. Find out how Cole and Frankie meet. How they make it work. And how they move past forgiveness.**
Ami Van is a romance author based in Las Vegas, where she lives with her family and an undisclosed number of cats (none of whom consented to their early role as captive storytime audiences). Her love for storytelling started young—complete with dragons, space-traveling dandelions, and a captive feline fanbase—but it took a winding path through an Information Technology degree and real-life plot twists before she found her way back to the written word.
Now a chart-topping author with a flair for emotionally charged, character-driven romance, Ami writes stories that blend heart, heat, and a little chaos. She believes there’s no such thing as “too late” when it comes to chasing your calling—and that a well-written kiss can fix just about anything.
I'm SHOCKED (again!)🤦♀️! The H is with h when they arrive at a dinner party and there he meets the ex-fiancee and when he sees the OW he TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY forgets about h!! (And yes, H and h already are a sooooooo in love couple when this sh*t happens😒). Even when the ex-father-in-law makes a toast regretting when they broke up years ago H doesn't have the decency to even look at h or knowing her presence. (He never tell h who OW was or that they were engaged) So he walk around all night with OW(and every body around seeing what's happening). When they disappear together the h listen the two of them (OW convincing him that they should continue where they left off the things, THEY KISS and HE DOES NOTHING TO STOP IT! THE OW TRIES OPEN HIS PANTS AND THEY ARE ONLY INTERRUPTED BY HIS BROTHER'S ARRIVAL the h leaves with her tail between her legs and HE DOESN'T EVEN REALIZE SHE'S GONE AFTER AN HALF HOUR LATTER AND JUST BECAUSE HER BEST FRIEND TELLS HIM!) And his excuse for what happened?! "I'm sorry, it shouldn't have happened" AND THAT'S IT! SIMPLE LIKE THAT! And the other day when the OW goes to their house to continue the "conversation", the doormat still DEFENDS HIM AS IF HIM WAS THE VICTIM !!! And everything is simply forgiven! My beloved father! If this were a novel written in the 70s and I could even reveal it, but this crap in 2020 ?! It's too much for me!
Oh! And do you know how H and h met ?! He RAIDED AND STOLE HER HOUSE AND SHE ALMOST HAS BEEN RAPED BY HIS BROTHER! AND IN THE END She is still brutally beaten, stabbed and shot by H's former "work" colleague. Yep, these are the "heroes" for some "authors". Apparently human beings with the minimum of descent are no longer worth it.
The overall story was good, and I liked all the way up to the very end. Frankie the female character was at times way over rated! It was like she was written to be som super human, that could do no wrong. There was nothing she couldn't do. She a chef, singer, plays guitar, business and financial management, baby sitter, care giver. I mean its like it never stops. Especially the end I didn't like. She moves onto their farm and basically starts reconstruction on their house, gets dogs, starts building a new building for a new business she decides to start up and never asks the guys if it's ok to do! Just does it. It was an idea that was mentioned once. Twice at most and she just starts doing! Buying animals, changing the property of their home and not a word. It totally tic me off! Who does that? Their not even married.
I like this author's style of writing. She gives the perfect amount of detail to picture exactly what is going on, but this book took a little longer to get into. Once you get to the end of the book, the beginning makes more sense. The story has a lot of twists and turns, but most of them were predictable. If you're going to read anything from this author, read "Finding Her."
I had a feeling this was going to be an amazing story, Author Ami Van does not disappoint her fans. I didn’t read the first cut but I’m glad to benefit from the updates. Frankie, Cole, Karmen and Nick took me on a emotional journey. I barely survived and will read again to make sure I didn’t miss any thing. Thanks Ginger_Lens
This was one of my favorite books this year. I don't normally like a book this long because they tend to drag, not this one! It was wall to wall drama and romance! I can't wait to begin Book 2.
Oh my god is there anything Frankie cannot overcome, she made good from a very bad situation at the start of the book, and she just carried everyone around her on to a better life.
