Let's start this off with an invitation to get some FREE books. No, you didn't read that wrong, we are talking about multiple free books. I love giving away free books because once people delve into the fast-paced mystery thrills I write, they go on to buy lots more.

All I need from you is an email address to send them to. Here's the link you need - https://mailchi.mp/fd47a6eb4ae5/patri...

When I wrote my first novel, Paranormal Nonsense, I was a Captain in the British Army. I would love to pretend that I had one of those careers that has to be redacted and in general denied by the government and that I have had to change my name and continually move about because I am still on the watch list in several countries. In truth though, I started out as a mechanic. Not like Jason Statham, sneaking about as a contract killer, more like one of those greasy gits that charge you a fortune and keep your car for a week when all you went in for was a squeaky door hinge.

At school, I was mostly disinterested in every subject except creative writing, for which, at age ten, I won my first award. However, calling it my first award suggests that there have been more, which there have not. Accolades may come but, in the meantime, I am having a ball writing mystery stories and crime thrillers and will claim to have more than a hundred books forming an unruly queue in my head as they clamor to get out.

Now retired from the military, I live in the south-east corner of England with a pair of lazy sausage dogs. Surrounded by rolling hills, brooding castles, and vineyards, I doubt I will ever leave, the beer is just too good.

Once again Patricia Fisher is in the thick of things.

Patricia didn't ask for this case; in fact she didn't want it and was just looking forward to a quiet time with Alistair while they celebrate their dear friends wedding.

But when her good friend Felicity; who is the wedding organiser where they are staying; asks Patricia to investigate some serious vandalism at the wedding venue, which is directed at a high profile wedding being held at the same venue on the same day, at the same time, Patricia feels that she can't say no.

Patricia is attending a wedding for her dear friends Deepa and Martin. Unfortunately the other wedding is between a celebrity and the son of Patricia's mortal enemy, Angelica Howard-Box. Bobbie, Angelica's son, is marrying Sashatastic, a young celebrity of some reknown.

At the venue, there had been an unpleasant incident. Someone had smashed the 7 tiered wedding cake for Bobbie and Sasha's wedding, and had painted on the wall in red that 'Bobbie will not marry Sashatastic.' Plus the wedding dress had been ripped to pieces while everyone had slept, and another similar message was smeared on the wall in the bride to be suite.

Felicity asked Patricia to look into the incident as a favour to her and Patricia does so. Of course because this was a wedding for Bobbie, Angelica's son, Angelica was furious to find that not only was her most hated enemy at the venue, but that she was investigating the damage done to the cake and dress on behalf of Angelica's wedding planner, Felicity. Angelica could not have been more upset.

Never-the-less Patricia begins to watch and listen to what was happening, slowly building a picture of what is taking place at the venue. A 33

This lighthearted, funny, and easy book was a pleasure to read. Having read many of Patricia Fisher books, one might think I would have just about read my fill of her stories, but nothing could be further from the truth.

This story was very entertaining, with a fair amount of humour; plenty to think about in the sense of a mystery; and lots of enjoyment just reading this easy going book. There is enough drama and enough tension in it to keep it enticing, plus trying to figure out who did what and why, kept my focus on the story from the start.

I loved the fact that the whole posse of Patricia's friends were in the book. And the divorce section from Patricia's husband Charlie was really entertaining near the end of the book, and I found it deeply satisfying on a personal level. I simply loved that.

This book keeps your attention and is very entertaining and well worth a read.

The first part of this book is a short story introducing Felicity Philips, wedding planner. It is she who will be planning both the wedding of Mrs Fisher's arch rival Angelica Howard-Box's son Bobbie and his celebrity internet influencer fiancee, Sasha, as well as the wedding of Lieutenant Martin Baker and Deepa Bhukari from the Aurelia. Felicity has an adorable bulldog named Buster with whom she can actually speak! Buster may not be the smartest dog in the world, but he comes through when necessary.

When the chef who is baking the 7 story wedding cake for the Howard Box party eats poisoned food and is rushed to the hospital, Felicity asks Mrs Fisher to help her figure out who poisoned the mushrooms.

Mrs Fisher figures out that neither the groom nor the bride want to get married and the wedding is ultimately called off.

Once that is settled and her friends are married (with some upgrades from the cancelled Howard Box wedding) Mrs Fisher is left to deal with her divorce settlement so that she can finally be rid of ex Charlie. While I thought that the book was rather slow early on and not as hilarious and outrageous as the usual Steve Higg's stories, the ending was prime Higgs. Charlie has hired a team of the most expensive lawyers money can buy to cheat Mrs Fisher out of half of her estate gifted to her by the maharaja. Patricia confirms that they will split everything they own at the present time, including all of Charlie's assets (their marital home plus bank account and investments). Charlie gleefully signs and is horrified to learn that the transfer of the mahaja's gift has not yet been finalized by the lawyers in Zangrabar.

You come to a wedding of two of your friends, how do you get caught up in another wedding? Where one of your oldest enemies son is getting married to a " famous " Utube "star? But the son of your enemy is also famous in his own right? who is trying to sabotaged the wedding? who crashed the wedding to get to the bride? the groom? is the groom's mother have an motive to "ruin" her son's wife to be? Were the mushroom's meant to kill the "invited guest? or was the chief the target? Who has the most to gain? Didn't Patricia give her soon-to-be ex-husband a fair settlement ? didn't she ask him to split the "property" they had in half and walk away? didn't she offer to pay his lawyers and just walk away? how many times did she ask You want to get half of everything I have and you have? Another great adventure cant wait for the next book!

Patricia faces her long lasting enemy when she is asked to help in finding who is doing everything to not allow a wedding to happen. Needless to say that she gets into a lot of confusion, sees herself scolded by the police, and has to call for reinforcements to help.Everything, as always, is written and described with a lot of flair and good humor by Steve Higgs, who continues to write great stories for this character. He has also introduced another pair - a woman who can talk to her dog - and I believe we will be seeing more of this pair in the next books in the series. Very good entertainment!
As a member of the author´s ARC team I downloaded a free copy of this book and this is my honest review.

A great story with an extra-special novella!
Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2021
Boy, I love Patricia! Be sure to read the novella in the front of this book. Not only does it introduce a new series from the prolific Steve Higgs, but it also has a bearing on the main story. I look forward to spending more time with Felicity and friends as her stories are published - my interest is definitely piqued! Patricia and her gang are in the thick of things again, while trying to finalize her divorce from Charlie. Charlie and his gang attempt a battle of wits with Patricia. Will they ever learn?!? The story takes plenty of twists and turns and I am kept guessing until the end. I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

Patricia Fisher just wants to enjoy a quiet weekend with her captain. Is that too much to ask for? Maybe.

While at Loxton Hall preparing for a wedding of friends the back of her scalp begins to itch. If this isn't your first Patricia Fisher book, you know what this means.

Trouble is brewing and Patricia just wants to ignore it. After all, this weekend is supposed to be a bit of a holiday.

She can't escape it. Often that itch means a body will show up. Sometimes it's an enemy she made while just a child.

Two weddings are supposed to happen there. Will they?

Thank you, Mr. Higgs, for another enjoyable book.

What can I say? Another fantastic story with Patricia ending up in the thick of things again. An added bonus this time was the short story “Rehearsal Dinner Revenge” at the beginning introducing Felicity Phillips and her wedding planning company. An inside look into a promising new series. She needs to sort out who is responsible for the mayhem at her celebrity wedding. The mother of the bridegroom is Patricia Fisher’s arch rival Angelica. There are bound to be fireworks when Angelica finds out that Patricia Fisher is at the same venue for the wedding of her friends Lieutenants Bhukari and Baker. Another action packed and totally enjoyable read.

Quite the Mixture

Steve Higgs has become one of my favorite writers and I anxiously await each book’s completion with eager anticipation!
I’ve been so very curious to see how Steve/Patricia would best that horrid - Charlie! Well Done!!! Still smiling as to how Charlie got his comeuppance! Patricia is my FAVORITE character!
That said... this is the first book I have given less than 5 stars to. For me it was just too much at once and a bit more Felicity than necessary. A stand alone intro to Felicity novella would have been fine in my opinion. I look forward to the Felicity series... however I felt she by far overshadowed Patricia here; disappointing for me.

Steve's deliciously wicked mind has added another delightful mystery to this fascinating series.
Patricia, the ever charming, savvy sleuth, and her remarkable team are all here to dazzle us in this entertaining narrative. And we meet a new friend, Felicity Philips, who will be starring in her new, witty and exciting series. She is an Events Planner who speaks to and understands animals. If you
haven't already read Wedding Planner Wars I suggest you do so soon. It is hilarious. Both books are 10 Star Quality. Very Highly Recommended.

Extremely Disappointed

This installment reads like poorly written fan fiction.
While I understand the concept of introducing a new character and spinning off another series, the 'Novell's dominated the implausible story line and the actual part of the book that should have been an important part - Patricia's divorce- was clearly an afterthought because her husband supposedly hired a top flight law firm who made a mistake a first year law student wouldn't.
And of the line for me on this series and this author.

Patricia Fisher Mysteries Big Box Set #2 by Steve Higgs. This is the 20th book in this series. The box set of ten includes books 11-20 BUT it doesn’t appear on Goodreads so I am writing a review for the last book in the series so far. These are wonderful stories. Patricia Fisher is a middle aged woman living in a manor house gifted to her by a former client. Every book is an adventure. The characters are charming and her antics a bit over the top but still believable. So, sit back with your favorite drink and enjoy the journey. Patricia’s favorite drink is gin/tonic/cucumber slice.

Great read-again.

The main problem with Mr. Higgs books is waiting for the next one. When I see a new release I’m curled up in my favorite chair reading way past when I should have put it down. While this story was as fun as his others I did have a little more trouble with his writing in this book. More run on sentences and times when I found myself having to reread passages to sort what was being said. This series is always fun.

Another winner

Ahhh! Patricia & friends win again . With unexpected twists and turns there is never a dull moment ! And the plots are unlike any other series I've read. Uncharacteristic players and unique settings , always thrilling spell binders of a story. Patricia Fisher is a series you don't want to miss! This author is exceptionally good and I am already anxiously awaiting the next installment, hurry please!!

Most satisfying

I just devoured this book, I've been waiting to see what happens with Patricia and her divorce. Of course, there's a mystery to be solved along the way, and solve it she does, in her own inimitable style. I've come to know (and become quite fond of) the cast of characters and I enjoyed meeting a few new ones, too. The adventure ends in a most satisfying way, and now I'm looking forward to reading about Patricia's next exploits.

So many twists and turns, you'll be kept guessing and turning pages. The final twist was the best, and a long time coming.
There were many laugh out loud sections.. not just moments, but whole sections of the book.
Patricia Fisher books are always hilarious.
Two books in one is a bonus!
Felicity sounds like she will be fun to read about. Ultra calm and unflappable wedding planner to the rich and famous.. what could go wrong haha

A slippery slope

What happens when a power hungry mother gets involved in her son's wedding? A murder, missing security destroyed cake and a destroyed dress. Can Patty figure it all out in time to make it to the wedding she is supposed to be at or will she end up missing the wedding of the season because of an old enemy.
This book started off different, but not in a bad way. Looking forward to what happens next for the newcomers.

Wedding and Divorce

Ms Fisher has headed back home. She has a whole group of friends with her, who are basically her family. She re-solves her last case when she concludes she made a mistake. The wrong person was arrested. Now she has to jump through hoops to make things right! Then she helps two friends get the wedding of their life!! But while trying to get the wedding set up and running she has yet another case to solve! Amazing reading!!

i may be really mad

Let me say going in that if Patricia loses half of everything to her ex I will be very angry, I won’t tell what happened.
The author mixes two series’ in this book with a short story from another series which merged with his Patricia fisher mysteries as the book begins. She has her big Agatha christie reveal just before the wedding and her divorce finalizes this book.

Patricia does it again!!

Yet another amazing adventure for Patricia and her friends! And comeuppance for her foes lol. Steve Higgs has done it again. And the short story at the beginning has promise as another intriguing series. Steve, just don't forget about the crew at Blue Moon, they need some love too.

Mrs Doolittle Cometh.

This time the mystery is solved before Patricia arrives.
Looks like a nice quiet wedding in the company of good friends. What could possibly go wrong?
Catching a murderer and someone determined to stop a wedding plus a cheating husband determined to get half of everything.
Just a normal day for Patricia.

Fast paced, lively and immensely entertaining. This book comes with a novella which needs to be read as a prologue to the main book introducing a new set of characters for a new series featuring Felicity Phillips.
Steve Higgs is an amazingly talented writer who has so many great stories to tell and somehow improves with every book he writes. Keep 'em coming Steve and I'll keep reading.

This is a brilliant read.
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great suspense and action with wonderful world building.
Can't wait to read what the author brings out next.
Recommend reading.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

Like an agatha Christie mystery

No active God surprises, however you feel really silly not to have noticed all the little clues that would've led you to the same conclusion that Patricia made. I have a little answer there in the story if you can pick them up. Even if you can't it's a fun read

Just desserts

I loved the short story introducing Felicity and her adorable bulldog and I loved the latest escapades of Patricia and her loyal "family." I laughed at what happened to Angelica because of Buster, and the fact that no one told her. I love what happened to the greedy pig, Charlie. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Both stories were fast paced. I cannot wait to read more of Felicity and friends including Vince. He sounds quite a character. The second story with Patricia and friends was great. I enjoyed Charlie's come uppance. It couldn't have happened to a nicer person. I am looking forward to see what happens next in both stories.

Loved this book, latest in a long line of excellent Patricia Fisher mysteries. Moved at it's usual fast pace to a very satisfactory conclusion, on the wedding and the divorce. Met a new character, Felicity Phillips, who will make for interesting reads in the future. If you read it, you will enjoy this book.

Two for the price of one

I really liked the novella at the beginning of the book looks like Felicity could be in competition for Patricia, with a twist! I've been waiting for Patricia's divorce with bated breath. I wondered if Charlie would manage to 'stiff' her. Well this is where we find out. Can't say more, no spoilers.

Awesome read!

This is a great book to read when you want to escape from what is happening in your everyday life. There are many times you are laughing, and others that you are saying “oh no”! Steve Higgs books are wonderfully entertaining with no swearing or overt sex. They’re so well written, it’s difficult to tear yourself away and get back to reality. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
