Bluebird Bay #4

Finding Forever

Rate this book
Come spend some time with the Sullivan sisters and their families in Bluebird Bay...

Max Burrows thought she'd finally found "the one". But when Tyler gets the opportunity of a lifetime and leaves Bluebird Bay for Paris, she can't bring herself to join him. She worked like a dog to make her own dream come true by opening the bookstore, and she won't give that up. Not for Tyler.

Not for anyone.

So when she gets a notice from the new landlord that her shop's lease is being terminated? It's like the rug has been yanked out from under her, yet again. Rather than curl up and accept her fate, she makes it her mission to get Ian Thackery to change his mind, no matter what it takes. As she gets to know him, though, she finds he's more than just the devil incarnate, intent on ruining her life. He's also funny, charming, smart, and way too handsome for her own good.

She might be in deeper than she thought…

Max found love before and lost it. Will she find forever this time?

This is book four in the Bluebird Bay series, and can be read as a stand alone, or in this order:

Finding Forever

I enjoyed this book very much and getting to catch up with the Sullivan sisters was great. I'm not thrilled though that one of the easier parts of the story was drug out all through the book and then not even totally finished in this book. I will definitely still be reading the next one though.

Wow! What a great catch up with old friends! Such a sweet heart touching continuation of series. The waiting was worth it!
It was such a fun to read it! It was focused on Max and Ian but we got to see a lot of other Sullivan sisters, especially Stephanie. It had me to laugh so much and even cry a little. All kind of emotions and feelings from joy to sorrow and grief, hate to love and so on. Quite a few hilarious moments.
I absolutely loved this book 4 of the Bluebird Bay series and so ready for 5th book!

Finding Forever is the fourth amazing story written by Christine Gael in her Bluebird Bay series. This story continues on with the lives of the three Sullivan sisters, Cee Cee, Stsphanie, and Anna. But also thrown into the mix are their children. This story revolves mainly around Max who is CeeCee's daughter. Max is a very strong independent young woman who doesn't let anything get in her way when she wants something.

Max has broken up with her boyfriend Ty do that he could move to Paris to advance his career. While grieving this loss her brother married and she feels lost and left out. With a bit to much champagne at the wedding Max wobbles to her bookstore and was devastated to discover she has lost her lease and stands to loose her previous store. When a stranger appears at the store next door Max in her intoxicated state gives the stranger, who just happens to be the new owner of the strip mall, a piece of her mind. Things didn't quit go as expected and she is embarrassed. This is where the story gets very interesting. How can she convince this wealthy real estate tycoon to see reason. The story that plays out is simply amazing. Everything is going well for the sisters but is Stephanie hiding a secret that could year the sisters apart. Sasha who has married Gabe is also hiding a secret that threatens her recent marriage. If all this isn't enough for everyone to deal with the sisters loose their beloved Pop. Now the stress for a few family members gets very intense. This story is filled with love, family, and forgiveness. The author has delivered another powerful story with the promise of another book.

I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response and all opinions are my own. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others. There are three previous books in this series and I recommend you read them in order.

Congratulations to Christine Gael on continuing her series with another powerful story for her readers enjoyment. I look forward to the next book in this series.

I was sucked right back into the Bluebird Bay World.
Max is Cee-Cee’s Daughter (From Book 1), this is focused mainly on her story. Her loss of a love only to be thrown into the path of who she thinks is equivalent to the devil.

Throughout this story you see other character points of views in 3rd person, like Max’s new sister in law and her Aunts.
My favorite character is forever Anna, and her bad-ass attitude hasn’t changed. She is just as spunky as ever.

There was laughter, worry, pain, and heart warming moments that got me straight in the feels. This does leave you on a bit of a hanger but nothing bad where you can’t wait until the next book.

This can be a stand alone due to the recaps that the authors include but it is nice to get the full picture of everything. I enjoy seeing their stories continue. They feel so real. I really loved this story and looking forward to the next.

The Sullivan sisters and their families have alway been very close. But what happens in this entry of the series will rock them to the core. CeeCee’s son having marital problems is just one concern. But a shocking revelation about Anna is just about too much for the sisters. Finding forgiveness and grace is looking beyond our own hurts and issues and trying to understand what the other person is going through. It’s about loving them and recognizing our own issues and need of forgiveness.

The characters responses to situations are so real. The authors have such a wonderful grasp on the humanity of their characters and impart wisdom and love into their writing. I am definitely looking forward to the next installment of the Bluebird Bay Series.

The Sullivan’s strength gets tested

I’m catching up on this series on KU.
I love the Sullivan family’s loving bond with each member. This story is about Max who is Cee Cee’s daughter. She is struggling being single again, all her family has someone their intimate with but her.
She had an unexpected notice on her shop’s door.
Ian is the new landlord and it doesn’t look like he wants to keep the small businesses open. I really liked Ian, looks can be deceiving and this certainly is the case with him. He is a sweet and caring guy once Max took the time to befriend him. Their relationship progresses slower than other books, but this is a series that continues with all the characters stories evolving. It was a good story that has a devastating occurrence that impacts the Sullivan’s foundation.

I didn’t like this one as much. The Sasha storyline, while minimal, didn’t really make any sense and felt shoe-horned into the plot, and I’m disappointed the next book is going to be about that whole thing. I get that they wanted a Max book, but I guess if they wanted to do that they should have left Tyler out of the last book completely. In that one she “knew” he was the one, and he moved back to Bluebird Bay to take over his fathers business and I think help him out in other ways, but in this book he’s just mysteriously moved to France, no mention of his father at all. Clearly they just needed to get rid of him, but the story made no sense considering what had already been set up for him.

Finding Forever is book #4 in the Bluebird Bay series. Originally the series was co-written by Denise Grover Swank and Christine Gale. In Finding Forever, Christine Gale branches out and tells the story of Max. Sticking true to the narrative and writing style of the 3 previous books, Christine tells a genuine narrative of Max’s life after book #3 ends. This story shares Max’s journey with her bookstore, difficulties among her mother and aunts and her grandfather Pop. Not for the faint of heart, this book discusses topics of chronic health, dementia, addiction, death and grief, and dysfunctional relationships. I am looking forward to book #5 and Todd’s story, coming out this winter.

Great continuation of the Bluebird Bay Series. This book reads like a stand alone until the end but will be most enjoyable if you start at the beginning. I enjoyed hearing more of Max’s story and getting to know Gabe and Sasha better. Max is in her 20s gave up a corporate job to persue her dream. Her dream is now in jeopardy. Is hunky Ian her going to be her downfall?
Anna, Stephanie and Cee Cee are well integrated into this story too. Stephanie has had a year or three and wonders if she’ll ever catch a break. I’m thrilled the series is continuing and the story continues to be as good as it was at the start.

I was so excited to revisit Bluebird Bay. This story pulled at my heartstrings. Max is struggling with the possibility of her business being forced to relocate. The new owner of her bookstore's building has posted a notice telling all the current occupants they will have to relocate. When she confronts the new owner, sparks fly. At the same time, Stephanie is hiding a secret and her sisters are worried. Sasha is also hiding a secret and she's worried about how it will affect her new marriage. This book made me tear up and smile. I love the community of Bluebird Bay.

Such an incredible whirlwind

The ladies Gael and Swank have beaten their own record. This book moves so fast from one thing to another and handles it so smoothly you don’t realize you’re in the middle of the whirlwind until the conclusion. Definitely a must read! Stop complaining, I never give spoilers. This one is full of emotions, twists and turns that you will see a few coming but maybe a few you won’t.
I’m headed to the new one Finding Forgiveness just as soon as is possible!

I can’t get enough of this series.

each and every book makes you feel as though you are sitting down with a cup of tea, catching up with old friends.

I was so happy when this book started to concentrate more on Max. It’s time she finds love and that her dreams start to turn into her reality.

So glad to see Stephanie facing her demons and getting her life back on track. Ironically, I feel what Max had felt for Sasha, even if fictitious series……

Another 5 star, can’t wait to jump into the next chapter of these dear characters lives.

I have enjoyed a visiting with the crew at Bluebird Bay. I love the characters and was so happy to get to see how their lives are continuing. Max's story is great. I am so happy she found her HEA. Stephanie's continued story is sad but hopeful. I have happy for Sasha and Gabe and excited to see how they navigate their next chapter. I am excited for Finding Forgiveness to hear more from all the characters's lives and learn more about Todd.

Things happen

This is the 4th book in the Bluebird series and not my favorite. It was kind of slow and mundane. I continued to read because I knew the characters. I did enjoy some of the quotes from Red Sullivan, one of the characters in the book. "Things will get better, it might not feel like it now, but time, is like medicine, it will get better. Something to remember when we deal with headaches and disappointment.

Forgetful or repetitive?

This book was kind of disappointing. They used the wrong name a couple times like they had forgotten the characters. They used an old idea that they had used preciously and called it a "new idea". The Liquor is quicker collection, that's what Cee-Cee had used in the competition from the previous book. It's a recycled idea. I'm not sure what was going on but it's like they forgot the series.

Sadly my least favorite of the set

So sad as I have enjoyed all the books that led to this one. Quite annoying that Max needed to be portrayed as a bumbling silly drunken fool. Really? The torn dress revealing her backside; the tall, dark and handsome villain to whom (Oh woe is me!)she is completely, helplessly attracted. Furious but besotted is she. Ouch. This tale is just too rushed and full of multiple crisis-like moments with multiple characters.

4 Stars

4 stars for Finding Forever. Catching up with the Sullivan sisters and their offspring was like visiting old friends. Stephanie is still struggling after a near death experience. Cee Cee is doing great with her cupcakes and Anna has found some peace after cancer. Although doing better, Max is still struggling with her book store and life.

Mixed feelings about this book. The segments on Sasha were just stupid... I’d give it one star. The parts about Stephanie were shallow and too glossed over. Deserving of more in-depth discussion and the resolution was given short shrift. The storyline on Max was good... would love to see a follow on about Ian.

A good clean women's fiction with romance: I was sorry to see Tyler leave Max, but loved the chemistry between Ian and Max. This story brings awareness to prescription drug addiction. The characters are well-developed, and continuity is great.
I really enjoyed this book and the series. I would recommend it.

This book tells a good, easy reading story that is continued from the previous 3 books. I love the Sullivan sisters and their extended families - very real and pretty normal lives. The stories just drag out a bit for me. Some of what was in book 4 was told in book 3, 2 or 1. And it lacks emotion. When serious, heartbreaking things happen it’s kind of like reading it in the newspaper. Sorry!

Finding Forever

Great story. Family of three sisters, Stephanie, Anna, and CeCe. This story was about Stephanie dealing with the news her husband was killed, about Max’s book store lease not being renewed, and Tyler leaving Max to go to Paris. You will enjoy muddling through all of this family drama.

Sad ending but awesome series

There has not been another series I’ve come across exactly like Bluebird Bay series. Some are similar but I love that Bluebird Bay is all it’s own. This book made me want to cry near the end and of course I felt for the characters and what they were going through. On to the next one!!

Bluebird bay continues

I really love this family and their relationships. It was like meeting old friends for coffee. The story of Max and her finding a love of her own is sweet and charming. A very good read on a snowy COVID day.

The Sullivan sisters saga continues. Stephanie struggles with the death of her husband and her near death. Sasha is hiding a secret from Gabe that could ruin their recent nuptials. Max is on the verge of losing her store. Life in the Sullivan world is spiralling out of order. Loving this series

This series of book is excellent. This family supports each other with so much love, common sense and humor. Wish all families were like this New England group. Hope you enjoy it as much as I.
