Although being the captain of the Seattle Blades isn't easy, it's intensely rewarding. The only thing lacking in my life is a personal relationship... and dating apps aren't helping. But when the only woman I've ever been in love with—Maverick—moves back to Seattle, I'm reminded of how much I still love her. Seeing her reminds me of the incident that caused us to break up—the same incident that put me in juvie.
Can I finally find salvation for what I did? And, more importantly, will Maverick forgive me?
This wasn't my favourite of the first 3 books but i'm really not a fan of second chance romances but saying that it was OK.
I liked that it was the woman that went and joined the military for a change. That was refreshing!
So Rory. I liked him. He was dealing with a lot and when he saw Maverick he was ready to pick up where they left off but she wasn't so keen. I liked that he only had eyes for her, that once she was back she was it for him.
Maverick i had a bit more of a problem with. She was a bit annoying. She was angry at him for lying to her all those years ago but shes lying to everyone for most of the book and then when her lies get found out she blames Rory for his original lie which was dumb! She was the problem.
The whole 'break up' thing at the end could have been avoided if she had got her head out of her ass.
I liked all the side characters (especially Jack) but my god her sister was a piece of work. I know she comes good in the end but i just don't think she was very nice.
I enjoyed all the planning for the retired vets. I don't think they get enough help. I'm from the UK so can only speak for our own vets but they don't get treated right!!
Overall it was OK and i am looking forward to the next one even if its about the spoilt sister!
This is book number 3 in the Bad Boys of Hockey series and is all about Rory and Maverick. Rory and Maverick were high school sweethearts and both thought that they would spend their lives together. After being apart for 12 years, they run into each other again. Maverick is freshly back from her service overseas and Rory is gearing up for a new season of hockey. A situation when they were teens broke them up and broke both of their hearts. Neither one of them ever got over each other and they both still loved each other deeply. After clearing the air on what happened in high school, Rory wanted to try to rebuild their friendship but Maverick was unsure about it because she was feeling completely overwhelmed with the new information she got from Rory. When Maverick finally comes around to Rory they finally start their relationship again. I loved this story and how much Rory loved Maverick. He gave up everything just to make her dreams come true. This was such a good story about second chances and true love. Definitely recommend this book!

Although Rory and Maverick broke up over twelve years ago, she has always been the one Rory has loved. Now that time has passed, Rory is a professional hockey player, Maverick has returned from over seas. Although Maverick does not want to be around Rory, the truth of their break up leads to the healing she needs.
Rory and Maverick's tale is a great second chance story that will push the character into finding what they are missing.

There are several sub-plots running through this book that will tug at your heart strings! If you get emotional, have some tissues ready! This book made me laugh and cry, amongst other emotions. It is well written with complex characters. It's certainly a great read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's captivating and hard to put down.

High school sweethearts that broke up twelve years ago and still think about each other. Rory is a hockey captain and Mav is a vet that's come home after being overseas. The story was fun and entertaining with a nice pace.

It was an okay read, fits in with the series, hot hockey player, cameos from past books, I just didn't warm up to the heroine too quickly. Maverick was very closed as a heroine it took a bit for Rory to knock down her walls. Fine read as part of the series.
A entertaining, enjoyable read. This is the third book in this Bad Boys of Hockey series. This is the story of Maverick and Rory and their second chance at love. A great read. Looking forward to read more in this series.
I really enjoyed this book, loved the military aspect. It’s well written with a well thought out storyline. It’s easy to read and I honestly couldn’t put it down until the very end. It’s got hot AF hockey guys, military and lots of steam Overall a great read
I'm not really sure what to think about this. The writing style was good and individually the two characters were interesting.
But he hid a huge personal life or death thing from her. He willingly put her (and maybe others) in danger because he loved her. At 17 that's not good but understandable. 12 years later its a dreadful thing to do. The plot idea is v good but I just didn't really feel the issue was well handled.
Maverick returns home injured while in the marines. There she runs into her high school sweetheart Rory. Rory is now a big shot hockey player who has never forgotten Mav. As he pursues her and tries to explain what happens in the past, Mav has to decided whether she can forgive him and give them a second chance. Add in a fame-hungry sister, a medical secret, dissent within the team and the stress of a new relationship, Rory and Mav will have to muddle through it all to get to a happy ending.
I thought this was a fun and entertaining romance. I really liked the characters as Mav is a strong and independent woman, and Rory is a tad arrogant, but can admit his faults. This Seattle Blades series is fun to read, and I love seeing glimpses of characters from past books.
I received a free advanced review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my fair and honest opinion.
