When people start disappearing, the world seems to forget they ever existed.
At an advanced academic institute in Canberra, Josh and Alice meet scientists Henry and Vanessa Jones who are experimenting with mind transference.
The four of them combine their technology to try and project their minds back through time into their younger bodies, thus achieving immortality.
After some initial success, unforeseen implications become apparent. When the timeline starts changing and people start vanishing, the world seems oblivious to their previous existence. The only people immune to this effect are those who have previously passed through a time bubble, but one by one, they are being killed.
This story is the sixth part of an epic series exploring the time travel genre in original and innovative ways. The novels follow the main characters from youth to middle age as they jump forwards, backwards, and sideways into alternate worlds.
Jason Ayres fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a full-time author when he left the corporate world behind and published his first novel in 2014. Since then, he has written twenty more books, delighting readers with his signature mix of humour, engaging characters, and imaginative storytelling.
His character-driven tales focus on ordinary people who find themselves in extraordinary situations—whether travelling to an uncertain future, revisiting their past, or exploring alternate timelines. Blending elements of sci-fi, romance, and everyday life, his stories offer something for everyone, with relatable characters at their heart.
Jason’s latest series, set in the 1980s, follows present-day protagonists who, down on their luck, get a chance to relive a pivotal year from their past. 1980, 1981, and 1982 are available now, with more to come.

I've said it before, Jason Ayres has a superbly overactive imagination that fuels these wonderfully colourful adventures. Here, we finally get an evil baddie to go toe to toe with the TTBT.
Though the villain in this 6th installment is cartoonish and over the top, I still found the story fun and interesting. Don't expect complex exposition here; the book moves along quickly and everything just conveniently works out. That said, it is a pleasant way to pass the time on a cloudy, rainy day.
A pretty decent chapter in the Time Bubble series. It really makes you think about just how terrible a bad actor getting their hands on time travel technology could be. In fact this might be the best argument that time travel is impossible as its inevitable that a bad person would get their hands on it and wreak havoc.
The previous book was so full of Brit-speak, British locations and chiefly British foods and drinks, it felt like the author was excluding the entire rest of the world (maybe not Australia) as an audience. Not so Book 6. It was a more enjoyable read.
This is going to be a short review. I've really enjoyed the first 5 in this series but this one, just didn't do it for me. There was a bad Leaper in Quantum Leap and this reminded me of that character. Just thought it was too extreme in how it went and having read the other books, you know what will come.
Was a surprise. Book six of the series brings a whole new perspective. A nasty home grown psychopath for one. It's just too risky to mention much more without putting in spoilers. Suffice to say that this was another very entertaining instalment.
I absolutely love the Time Bubble books and this was no exception. I love how each story is fresh and full of new ideas. I was always looking forward to having time to pick it back up and continue the adventure.
Since discovering the firs Time Bubble book last year, I’ve eagerly jumped to the next one. The sixth instalment did not disappoint. These books are a must read for any time travel fans.
I didn’t quite enjoy this as much as last year. Is it perhaps time to move on? Not that it was a bad story, but there was an element of predictability to the whole thing.
