After divorced mother of two Eva St. John escapes her abusive marriage to police detective, Dalton Gary Lewis, she starts her new life in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Canton, Ga. With the help of her friend and employer, Dr. Amani Giles, Eva and her children settle into a routine to enjoy their new life free of violence.
Eva never knew much about her family’s history having been raised by her aunt in a loveless home after the death of her parents and grandparents. However, when she meets Christoff Kamenev, the supernatural world collides with Eva’s new life in Canton, and it’s a world she discovers she’s an intricate part of.
Christoff Kamenev, the cousin and protector of the Vampire King, Aleksandr Morozov and his wife, Queen Amani, has had only one concern for as long as he can remember—the protection of the Crown.
That is, until he finds his True Mate, Eva St. John.
Christoff’s concern is now split between protecting his mate and her children from an abusive ex-husband and the impending danger brewing in the supernatural realm that, if allowed to go unchecked, will bring the Crown to its knees.
Oh, I loved reading this gripping Kush creation story reimagined with a twist. There was Isis, the Goddess, fated mates, witches and vampires and the deception in between. Christoff and Eva's story had me as soon as they met.
This is basically a copy of the first book with a couple details changed. It's still a woman with an awful ex who finds out she's mated to a royal vampire. There are people against them, obstacles that are easily overcome, and they live happily ever after. There's not much about Eva being a seer which was a disappointment and there's only one bedroom scene. This is incredibly short and because of that, everything is skimmed over.
I wonder if the author only had a couple ideas for the book and that's why it's basically a novella? This should be double the length, with more work into Eva and Christoff getting together and some actual fight scenes. At one point, Eva's ex gets a hold of her but then on the next page, she's been rescued and is fine. Really? We don't even get to see what happened? Lazy writing.
I don't know if there are supposed to be more books in this series, but I won't be reading them. This feels like it's going nowhere.
I liked this one much more than #1 in the series: The Witch who would be queen.
In the first one, I wanted more backstory and fantasy elements and fewer bedroom scenes. This one delivered on that front and I was 40% in and there were no bedroom scenes yet which in the first one there were already a few by that point. It gave me more time to get to know the characters & fantasy elements and it made the romance built slower burn which is always good.
I still wasn't pushed all the way to 5 stars, it was almost there but not quite. Its probably just a personal thing though because I love a deep dive into fantasy and world-building with the romance and bedroom scenes being minimal or not the focus of the story/internal dialogue of the characters.
Disclaimer: I received this review copy from BookSirens free of charge and it was my choice to read and review.
What did Aretha Franklin say once? Oh, yes! Nice covers, beautiful covers.
In Courtney Dean’s The Seer’s Destiny, Eva St. John has just gotten out of an abusive marriage with a nightmare husband that doesn’t seem to want to give up. Finding out that she’s Christoff Kamanev’s True Mate was not in her plans, especially since she has no idea what that is. Christoff’s whole life is devoted to the Vampire King and his Witch Queen, and has no interest in complicating that with a mate. However, Fate has bigger plans for Eva and Christoff.
I’ve probably made this book sound better than it is. To be fair, the book had the makings to be better than it was. That being said, The Seer's Destiny was an absolute disappointment, and I can’t be bothered to read the first one to see if it was actually good enough to warrant a sequel.
You know, I hate trashing books because I know my time is coming, but it hurts my heart to know how this one turns out. In all honesty, it just moves too quickly. I don’t want to say that there’s a pacing problem, but there’s a pacing problem here. We go from one point to the other with no stops. The prologue, the setup, the meetup, the get-together, the problem, the solution, and a very hasty epilogue. There is very little development of anything here. No world-building, no character building, no relationship building, no nothing.
This novel is very promising in that it involves vampires, witches, and ancient bloodlines, but the lack of world-building fails all of these elements. The two main characters had valid reasons for not jumping into love, but we don’t really see much of a change in their characters. And you just have to accept that the relationship works because there’s a happily ever after at the end.
You just have to assume that the vampires are not of the undead kind because they can walk around in daylight, don’t have to drink blood to survive, and can apparently conceive children. The joke is, the write up for this arc states that it can be read as a standalone. Considering the amount that the author is not telling us, that is most definitely a lie.
It’s just so frustrating, because The Seer’s Destiny should have been great. It has too many elements that should have worked, but I don’t think that the author took the time to develop any of them correctly. And what makes it worse is that the covers for this series are actually very good. I wish that some of the ebooks I’ve read had covers like this.
This had the potential to be a great story, but fell short with details. The reason I had to only give 2 stars is because I’m a paranormal snob, if you are going to deviate from the regular Vampire lore, then you need to explain the origin. Why can they walk in the sun, do they not even drink blood on a regular, and when they do, they get this “high” and is unconscious for a week???? Like nothing was mentioned or explained about vampires at all. That was really disappointing, when the women in this series come into their power, it’s so anticlimactic, we learn nothing about what powers they have, how they use it, nothing was explained. This was a very on the surface book where the writer gives a little bit into the characters lives, thoughts and feelings, but only a peek, nothing to deep. This writer can do much better I believe and I really didnt want to only give 2 stars, and I hoped that this second book would give a bit more details but she didn’t. And also the Queens of Kush, like really, kush, I really hated that name could have been so much better
Crazy how all that you experience and witness in life can keep you bound, blocked and damaged. Whether family relationships or partner relationships - they definitely shape the way you think, see and feel about life and yourself. They blind you to things that could and should be. Stop, delay and deter you from the good, blessings, and happiness. May lead you to think you’re unworthy, undeserving, irredeemable.
Eva and Christoff were forever changed by their past experiences and blinded by them. Their acceptance and joining as ordained by fate involved more than matehood, it also had the lives of all others hanging in the balance based on their decision.
When you push past what was and embrace what could be - it becomes totally clear what it truly is!
The ending had me on the edge of my seat! The tying end of history and ancestors was awesome! The love between mates was beautiful and the lust was palpable! My only thing I had questions about was them Popov siblings - Vera and her brother and even their mother. I just knew they weren’t gonna just let it ride.
I liked this book. It hooked me from the first chapter. The author's world-building of the past linking to the present for all the characters was interesting and engaging. It was magic and family lore that came together to tell a wild tale I wanted more of.
The main couple, Eva and Christoff were likable. They were both descendants of royal bloodlines of Seers and Vampires; in a supernatural world that also had witches involved. Even though Eva's circumstances were difficult, she kept her spirit and I actually found their individual stories and lives even more compelling with all those family dynamics. As for Eva and Christoff's chemistry, I didn't feel that between them right away; which allowed me as the reader, to get to know the characters as the romance built.
There were many moving parts, with really good secondary characters to help the story along; which kept the story moving at a good pace.
It was a good read that I finished in one sitting with a satisfying end.

The second book was just as perfect as the first book. How the friends meet was to me how it should have been. They both didn't know much about there past but it was shown to them through a unbreakable bond. Christoff never imagined that would find his true mate until he meet Eva. For her to be friends with his gueen and king was just the icing on the cake for him. The best thing I was so happy about was when Christoff got rid of that cow that only was looking for clout. It will make you cry because of everything Eva has gone through her whole life. I'm just so glad she finally found true love and a wonderful man she didn't think she deserved. Go out and get both books because you will not want to miss anything. I'm hoping there will be another book added to this series.
I had been in a reading slump and i was considering rereading some favorites and remember that i hadn't read this one. It did not disappoint. There were some typos but it honestly didn't matter. Almost everything was beautiful about this book. It has the love, the sex, the prophecy. I'd read it again. I love that she didn't spend too much time on Christoff's woman and that Eva's husband didn't get too much screen time. There were similarities between how the vamps treat women they are no longer interested in. Kinda harsh. And how the vampires ex lovers behaved. Like why do they all go for money hungry bimbos lol But i definitely felt the love and still felt the love of Amani and Alek. The author did a great job and telling this story. I might reread the first book to compare. Lol
This book was P O W E R F U L honey, it starts off with the Kush Creation Story and a flashback told so magnificently I knew this book would be ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Just a little FYI this is Book 2 of the series but it can be read without reading Book 1 first.
Eva and Christoff are true mates. That the God’s have brought together. Eva is also a descendent of the Queens of Kush who has a very important role to play when it comes to defeating evil in the supernatural world. I won’t go into much of the story, for fear of spoilers.
This was my first read by Courtney Dean but something about this book called to me and now I’m certainly a fan.
I love a story that gets straight to the point. There's no rehatching of the series before, so if you're lost I suggest to read the first book to understand what's going on. I very much feel like this is more of a novella than a stand alone. The only thing that kind of peeved me was the timing Eva meeting Cristoff. It seemed to me she was engrossed in Alek and Amani's life...yet she never ran into Cristoff?? 🤔 Other than the timing, everything else took it's course and there was no slowing down. When I said this book went right into it to end it was like a theme park rollercoaster quick and fast. I was hoping for more fluff between Cris and Eva and the kids more substance in the building of their relationship. Anywho, it wasn't bad and I can appreciate that.
The Seer's Destiny by Courtney Dean was a fast and eventful ride into the Royal Bloodline Series. I like the way the book got right to the point. This book left me wanting to look further into the series. I enjoyed the interaction between the characters, and the focus on family. Although I would have liked to see more magic, there was just enough to keep me engaged. I would suggest this book to someone who enjoys a little magic and a little romance, and is looking for a quick read. I gave the book 4 out of 5 Stars because I once I started I couldn't put it down.

I felt bad for the way that Eva and her kids had to run but the way that she ended up finding her true destiny and her true heritage out of it and the way it came about was interesting to read about.
Christoff really seemed to take life a bit too serious until Eva came into it but the sparks between those two were wow and the fact she was a single mum, I loved the way he just took that in his stride.
This authors way with words kept me interested right to the end and I will be looking for more of her books to read.

Wow another amazing paranormal romance novel Courtney Dean!!!! I enjoyed reading the story of how Christoff and Eva meant and knew they were destined to be with each other. This story contains intrigue, physical and emotional abuse and pain, dreams, prophesy, beliefs, Faith, hope, and allowing love to prevail. I will be recommending this book to everyone I know!!!
This was fantastic!! Eva and Christoff’s story was mesmerizing from first page to last. The characters, main and supporting, were well developed with backstories interspersed throughout. The plot was complex with plot twists to add depth. The intimacy was super hot! The love was intense. I simply loved everything about this!!!

I loved it just like the first book. I loved how she became stronger throughout the book. I still wished this was a little longer but the timeline was longer than the first book which I liked. It just made more sense and it didn't feel as rushed. Plus I loved that we still got to see how Amani and Alek was doing. Hopefully there's another book. I love this series!!!
Love this author's work and was excited to see that she had a second book out. I was not disappointed. Plot was great and loved the characters. Hope she's going to continue the series. It's hard to find good quality bwwm romance stories and the author has a great talent writing them.
An engaging fantasy world, with interesting characters. The mating phenomenon is quite interesting, particularly how one knows when one meets "the one." This writer has a lot of potential. With some more detailing and filling in the story blanks, she will move from a good writer to a great writer!

I definitely love the storyline and how Eva eventually came into her poweres and gift. She and Christoff had some doubts about themselves . but that's just human nature and they learned together to get through it. Definitely a good read. Wish there was a book 3 in the series
Potential for a 5 star read was there but didn't quite make it.
This book had the potential to be an awesome read. But the author rushed thru too many ground breaking issues. So the book seem rush and unfulfilling. The author has great points but she really needs to expound more on the plot points.
This is a great continuation of book one. I enjoyed the fact that the main characters accepted each other without the tiresome back and forth often found in love stories. Also, the characters are likeable. My only complaint is that the story was too short. I would love to see a story about Eva's daughter, the little seer.
What a conclusion. The story was intriguing from start to finish. It held my attention throughout. Great job by the author. I would highly recommend this book but read part 1 before 2.
New to me author Courtney Dean's book The Seer's Destiny is stunning... it will take your breath away. This book is rich in content and drama! Loved it!! I received an advanced copy of this book and am enthusiastically leaving an honest review.
Wasn’t nearly as enjoyable as book one IMO but still good. This one just felt like it dragged on and then around 85% it went into hyper drive 😕 Also want the biggest fan of Eva. If there will be a book 3 I hope it’s more similar to the first book.
The Seer's Destiny: A Paranormal Romance ( The Royal Bloodlines Book 2)
This was another well written book. It was a history lesson all so.It kept your interest and page turning to see what will happen with Eva and Cheistoff.
One should read book 1 to fully understand what is going on. Great read! Eva’s character development was great. This series is powerful so far! Will there be a book 3?
I’ve read both book s in this series and I love them !! African American paranormal s are rare gems I look forward to the next installment Great read!!
