About the author

International bestselling author Dorothy Ewels lives in the city of her birth, Cape Town, South Africa, with her husband, son, two crazy rescue dogs and a cat with plenty of cattitude. A lifelong love affair with reading got her writing at a young age, but it wasn't until she was retrenched in 2017 that she finally found the courage to write her first book, leading to its publication in 2018. She’s addicted to coffee, books and finding humor in life, not to mention happy endings against all odds.

As well as being a proud and active member of the Romance Writer’s Organization of South Africa (ROSA), Dorothy is also thrilled to be a contributing author in Samantha A. Cole’s Suspenseful Seduction World, Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward’s Cocky Hero Club and Susan Stoker's Special Forces world.

A fantastic compilation of romance reads. Some have good heat. I read three before writing my review, but plan to finish the rest of the book. One of my all time favorite authors is showcased in the book.

One and Only by Georgia Lyn Hunter
So happy to finally see Tanner get his story. You really should check out the other guys. Lainey is a perfect match for him in every way. She is the sweet to his gruff. The two have had a rough past that would break many, but the author does a wonderful job of showing real love never really goes away. This story shows that those who want to make no matter the circumstances or the time can make it.

An Affair by Sofia Karlson
Tessa has been separated from her husband for two years. After a chance job the meet up and find they have a chance to start over if they're willing to put old hurts aside. It's a sweet story about second chances and living in the moment.

Player Mistaken by Sevannah Storm
This is a sweet enemies to lovers romance. Camila and Zack have worked together for two years. She finds the player to much to handle, but he secretly is in love with spinster. It's a rather sweet tale of not judging a book by its cover.

I had the pleasure of receiving an ARC of Summer Singles. I found myself drawn into each and every novella showcased. Although each author has such individual writing styles, and the spice levels range from warm & fuzzy, to “ghost pepper” hot, I thoroughly enjoyed each story. I felt like I had a buffet of appetizers in front of me, a small sample of each author, and found myself wanting more from each. There were some I don’t think would have ordinarily selected to read on their own (because the blurb might not have initially pulled me in), but I’m so glad I did because I have found many new authors to follow! This is a great book to read that will allow you to have closure before you go to sleep at night lol. It gives you a great starting & stopping point for your reading, without pushing yourself for “just one more chapter” over & over again.

This book is evidence to how hot the summers are in South Africa! Wowee! If you want hot, oh you won't be disappointed! They know how to do hot in this book. If you want romance, you'll fall in love with each story. I thoroughly enjoyed the writing styles and each author's take on the thrill of the chase, surrender of love. These authors are awesomely talented. I hope they'll do another. Highly recommended!

This has a plethora of fantastic short reads perfect for sitting back and relaxing and getting your sexy romance fix. I loved that most of these authors were new to me so now I have dibbed my toe into new territory and am fixing for more of them. They left me satisfied while also wanting more. A great anthology!

This is a collection of 9 short stories by a variety of authors. Prior to this Anthology I have only read work by Dorothy Ewels but I was very impressed by the stories and writings of the other women and will definitely look for more chances to find works to read.

An Affair by Sophia Karlson - Tessa has been estranged from her husband, Tanner for years but never signed the divorce papers he sent her. When they are reunited on a job, she realizes that she wants to fight for her marriage but does he still love her?

My Girl by Dorothy Ewels - A new twist of the storyline where a boy falls for his "off limits" best friend's little sister. Gabriel suffers from PTSD, the result of witnessing the deaths of his parents when he was a child and then recently those horrors and events resurface when he has another tragedy. Sheridan realizes that despite their attraction, she believes she can help him overcome the past he has avoided so long but will be accept her help and love?

Player Mistaken by Savannah Storm - Can Camilla look past Zack's reputation as a "Player" to discover the real man that has been in love with her since he first laid eyes on her?

If you are looking to find new authors to read and follow, this is a perfect collection to get a feel for some wonderful (new to me) authors.

Zu aller erst: Mir wurde das Buch kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellt im Austausch für eine ehrliche Meinung.

Im Buch enthalten sind 9 kurze Geschichten. Jede Geschichte ist in sich abgeschlossen und nicht mit den anderen verbunden. Aufgrund ihrer Länge eignen sich die einzelnen Geschichten sehr gut wenn man sie in einem durchlesen möchte.

Es handelt sich bei den Geschichte um erotische Romane (teilweise mit Fetisch), wobei die erotische Komponente mal mehr mal weniger ausgeprägt ist (daher absolut 18+). Grundsätzlich stammen die einzelnen Geschichten der Sammlung aber aus ganz unterschiedlichen Sub Genre; so behandelt die Geschichte 'My Girl' von Dorothy Ewels, welche mir besonders gefallen hat, z.B. PTBS, in Sophia Karlson's 'An Affair' bekommen Tessa und Graeme eine zweite Chance für ihre Liebe, mit 'Player Mistaken' von Sevannah Storm ist ein 'Enemies to Lovers'-Roman dabei (u.v.m.).

Die Geschichten sind zum Teil aus der Ezähler-Perspektive (aus einer Sicht oder aus verschiedenen Sichten) und zum anderen Teil aus der Ich-Perspektive (aus einer Sicht oder aus zwei Sichten) geschrieben.

Mir haben die Geschichten alle gut gefallen, auch wenn ich mir hier und gerne etwas mehr Details und etwas mehr Geschichte um die Handlung wünschen würde. Ebenso finde ich das manche Geschichten 'halb offen' sind, und eine Fortsetzung, ggf. auch von Nebencharakteren wünschenswert wäre.

Summer Singles is a wonderfully flavored Romance Anthology with a variety of stories from sweet to steamy and I mean Steamy! Whew, still blushing. Each novella was a great read with different writing styles and degrees of heat. Whether it's a HEA or a HFN, you will not be disappointed.

This review is for The One & Only by Georgia Lyn Hunter

This story is about Tanner Harding, from her first two Players to Men series, and his runaway love Lainey Jain (Isn't that the greatest name ever?). Tanner and his cousin Max, also from the series, are in South Africa to work on a business deal, but Tanner has other ideas. He knows Lainey works at the hotel, and his plan is to woe her back. Its been years... Will she even talk to him?

Author Hunter has a key eye for character details and writing emotion. And when the two exp lovers meet again, there is nothing but emotions that spill onto the page. She uses ample flashback to key us in on what happened.

"My heart clopped hard in trepidation. I wasn’t ready to talk to him. But memories of our last time together, pinged my mind like discharging pellets, leaving a hurting bruise again. He hadn’t answered any of my calls the entire day, so I’d rushed to the mansion…""

Hunter is an eager beaver, insisting on Lainey to make spot decisions, without an understanding of what Lainey would leave behind. He is desperate, irrational and pushy, but Hunter addresses this in the story so you dont wanna kill him. And its clear both haven't forgotten their blazing hot chemistry. Hunter can write a seamless sex scene with all the feels.

"Eyes wide, she stumbled into me, her soft curves and warmth pressing into my wet body. I slid my palm to her nape and covered her mouth with mine. Her startled gasp parted her lips, and I swept my tongue into her mouth, licking and sucking on hers. Then her lips moved against mine. She kissed me back, breaking through my fury and pain."

Swoon! I loved the side characters, and the cheeky nod to their story through a hotel getaway event. Usually I want more when I read a novella. Not here. I was very satisfied with the length and the brevity Author Hunter used to her advantage. Now I just have to read the rest of the stories in this anthology, especially if they are as rich as this one.

Summer Singles was a mix of fun, sweet, and steamy short romance stories that took place in South Africa (as an American, I enjoyed this extra. Some of these stories were like mini-vacations for me while also getting romanced. Bonus).

There were nine short stories to romance you. My two favorites were "Player Mistaken" by Sevannah Storm, "Hungry Eyes" by Pravina Maharaj, and "Mistress Unchained" by Amanda Holly.

While all three of them were different than the other, they each made me smile and swoon; to me, that is the perfect combination.

I recommend you give their stories along with the seven other fun reads a try!

One and Only by Georgia Lyn Hunter was a heart-wrenching look at a man, Tanner, who travels half way around the world to reconnect with his lost love and get a second chance with her. Lainey and Tanner are both in the same boat, missing the other and not able to move on with their lives. It's a sweet novella about second chances and true love!

As many know, I’m a lover of Anthologies. They are a great way to meet new authors and find new stories to fall in love with. So when I heard about this anthology, I was very excited to read it.

One story that stood out to me was My Girl by Dorothy Ewels. It deals with a real life issue of PTSD and is written with grace and dignity. Gabriel had tragedy in his younger days and when something happens to him later in life, he’s not sure how to handle it. Until he goes to see Sheridan, a young woman who he hopes can help him. These two have sizzling chemistry and I loved their interactions. They just both need to realize they belong together. Sheridan will do anything to help Gabriel, but will he accept her help? Will Gabriel realize that Sheridan is the one for him? I truly enjoyed this story and hope that it becomes a full length novel.

This anthology has 14 novellas. Each one can be easily read in one sitting and you will have two weeks of reading bliss. Each I’ve read has their own level of heat and you’re sure to find a favorite or two or three...you get the drift.

I’m on my third so far and this is what I’ve found...

Sophia Karlson’s An Affair is a sweet second chance romance for a married couple who have been separated for years.

Dorothy Ewel’s My Girl is a great novella about a tortured rock star and the baby sister if his best friend.
