I'm back in Whitsborough,
A boring town where nothing ever happens.
Two years of boarding school didn't reform me and now I'm trapped with a loving family.
Forced to be a daughter and a big sister,
This is my punishment.
Being back here leaves me with no other choice but to face my demons.
Like the sounds of her screams (I'm like a ticking time bomb),
And the warmth of her blood (I'm on the cusp of exploding).

Then there's him.
He's filled with hatred and a burning need to hear my screams, feel my blood.
He's looking for vengeance and only I can give it to him.
I got out once and I can do it again,
Even if the cost is more than I can pay.

Five freaking fantastic stars

C.A. Rene is a genius. I fell in love with her work last year and have been stalking her ever since. If this series is anything like this book, it will be epic. Book one is mouth dropping, Wow, and to say I am obsessed is an understatement.

My Sweet Ivy, thank you to Rene for writing such a strong heroine. Ivy has been through hell and back and came out on the other side, I'm top of the trauma she blames herself for the death of her best friend, Charlotte.

Neil blames Ivy for his sister's death and hates her for it, but we all know there is a fine line between love and hate. As he spends time with Ivy and his younger sister, he believes not is all as it appears to be. It so much more.

Sometimes I forgot Ivy was a senior in high school. Very mature and independent for her age, she is truly Embers' daughter. Can I just say how much I love her psychopath brother? He cracked me up. As the book went into more depth, a few things I loved more about ivy. She is a survivor, loyal, but to a fault, and all-around badass. Neil and Ivy’s journey is like no other. Ivy’s Venom is a must-read of 2021, and I can't wait to read book two.

Fell in love with this book!

I quickly fell in love with this book! The characters C.A. Tene writes are so captivating you can't help caring about them all, even the secondary characters. Ivy has a take no shoot side of her that I love but at the same time she's harboring some dark secrets that you can't help but want to grieve with her. NEIL gosh this man was everything! I need me one of him🤣 he is just perfect! I loved this story so much I am eager to go back and start the Whitsborough Chronicles from the very beginning with the parents because I am intrigued and invested with this world! C.A. Rene's writing style just blows me a way.

Ok so I guess I will need to go back and read The Chronicles (and prolly everything else C A Rene has written) b/c The Progenies started out good asf.

Ivy mmmhmmm hmmmm this girl dgaf and I love her for it. She’s been through it ugh has she been through it and sex is her drug of choice for coping. I feel you girl, I feel you. Ivy was so relatable, so realistic. Can we be BFFs? This bih races cars and she wins!!!! That was like the Cherry on top my sundae when it came to Ivy. But that’s besides the point, Ivy’s hurting, Ivy needs love.

Neil, bruh you captured my heart. Neil is captivated by Ivy although he tries his hardest to fight it. He blames her for things from the past that he can’t seem to get over, rightfully so. However, some things we just end up giving into and that’s our Neil. He gave into how he feels about Ivy. And towards the end when he wants to step up regardless OMFG that just made me love him more.

My first read by this Author and like I said I need to go back and read how we got to where we are today in Whitsborough.

Bravo chica, you just gained a fan for life. >besos<

Absolutely addictive from start to finish. I am a C.A. Rene fan for life. The woman knows how to write a story.

Ivy's Venom is about (you guessed it!) Ivy... the daughter of the infamous Black Slaughter, Ember. She's facing some hard times and learning to trust those around her after some really bad things happen.

I love getting to see the next generation of Whitsborough and can't wait to see what happens next. Absolutely recommend! Love it!

What a rush!

This story was heart-wrenching simultaneously thrilling. Ivy, fierce, who by all appearances was hard, was simply a warm, loving girl wearing a veneer and caught up in the trying circumstances. But these are what made her character admirably, amazingly strong. Neil, responsible, good-looking and protective, initially hates Ivy for what he believes she did to his family, but when he really assessed himself, was drawn to Ivy, attracted to her. And so the true story unfolds and their love story begins.

This tale spanned the emotions, creating an angst-filled, gritty read showing pain masked by hedonism as well as a fair amount of passion. Great characters, again with a wide breadth of traits which made for a very rich plot, rich interactions. I appreciated the ease with which sexuality was portrayed -- any sexual orientation was normal, natural, depicted without judgement. High steam? Absolutely, look no further, occurring soon in the story and with adequate frequency. This tale also looked taboo right in the face. It was also not afraid to show a woman's pain from abuse, lifestyle, and misguided decision-making. There was some villains to be had for sure in this suspense-filled plot.

While the objective and themes of the storyline do not become apparent until a little after 25%, the gutting emotions were on blast from page one. A bit of levity and less martyrdom especially in the new adult setting, was warranted, for me, to create a bit more balance to the story. Overall, though, a great angst-filled, gritty, and emotionally gutting telling whose happily ever after felt all the more powerful for having overcome life's tremendous trials.

At first Ivy doesn't seem very likable. Let's be honest. She wasn't. 😅
But as the story unfolds we learn a lot about why she acted that way. She is fiercely loyal and loves so deeply even if it's at the cost of her own happiness.
She hides behind this bad girl facade to keep up the image of someone that's untouchable and in control while she's spiraling inside.

That's where Neil comes into play. He went from hating her to trying to figure her out to eventually loving her. He is extremely protective of those he cares for. When we first met him he's your typical good guy from next door who wants to become a doctor.
So basically the exact opposite of Ivy in the beginning. But the further their story went the more we learn that he has a dark side that matches hers perfectly. He's ready to do what needs to be done to protect his loved ones. He's willing to listen, understand and open up about his feelings which made him the perfect bbf. Seriously why do guys like that never exist IRL? 😢 The world would definitely be a better place.

Their chemistry was explosiv from the first page but the things that moved me the most were those quiet moments and movie nights. Seeing Ivy, who is always so though on the outside and painstakingly aware of her actions just relax was incredibly satisfying.

What made this book even better were Saxons comments. Seriously I can't wait to see this kid get knocked onto his ass by someone. 😂

Since I haven't read the previous books some of the revelations seriously shook me. And I loved it. Seriously her mum is awesome. 🔥

So needless to you know in case it wasn't obvious from my post I'll definitely read a lot more C A Rene books from now on. Because damn she can write!!! 💥

Okay so I need to take my butt back and read everything C A Rene has ever written because if Ivy Venom was bomb AF and I am sure I have been missing out on some masterpieces.
Ivy and Neil are both two broken halves to a whole. They complete one another. Ivy has been put through the ringer but no one would ever know that because she holds it all inside and on the outside she’s just one badass babe. She has fought her way out of the darkness and she is truly amazing. She’s strong, mature and independent. Now there’s that very thin very fine line between love and hate and you can see that’s where Neil is currently at. The more time That passes and Neil gets to know Ivy he starts to realize things are not always as they seem on the outside. Neil and Ivy together are absolute fire. Ivy’s story completely blew me away. You feel everything Ivy feels. My heart was ripped out stomped on and then slowly put back together. Absolutely EPIC!

Ivy and Neil’s story was filled with turmoil and intensity. I loved Ivy so much, she is a phenomenal heroine, she has such a strong exterior but inside her heart is soft but she doesn’t let anyone see that side of her. Neil is amazing and even though he wants to hate Ivy his connection to her won’t let him.

I've got this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

When I started reading this book I was very hopeful of the character Ivy. As give she is Ember and Vin's daughter so I hoped, she'd have their character. And it didn't disappoint. She truly represents her mother, but she's also different and herself.

The story in this book is kind of ironic given to the Ember's story and to be honest I kind of really liked it.

Yes, I was expecting it to be more "Ember fighting style", but we got something different.

At the beginning of the book, I have to say I didn't like Ivy much, it took me a while to finally like her. I was still expecting her to be really more like her mother, but she was different and that just got me. After a while thought and after I found out her life story, I admired her!

Growing up being Green or Torres, you'd think it'd give you so much protection and freedom, when actually it did the opposite. Ivy felt trapped and unable to rely on people a lot. The actual thing you get thought is love, and you'd get tons of it!

What was infuriating, as I've read the first 4 books, was that Ivy couldn't tell her parents what's going on, because she thought they would judge her so much. When in fact, alone Ember has done so many crimes that I don't think she's even legitimate to judge 😂 That was honestly the only thing that got me thinking "WHAT THE HECK?!".

This wasn't the exactly dark, dark book like Through the Pain, but it wasn't lighter either. It had it's ups and downs and throughout you just didn't know how to truly feel.

I was waiting for something special to hit the book and in about 40 mins till the end of the book, I thought I ain't getting it...BUT after a tiny bit more reading...THERE IT WAS! BAM! A freaking *SCENE*...I loved it! I even did a happy dance in my room, I just couldn't help it. I was anxiously waiting for it, having my fingers crossed for it and C.A. Rene delivered and didn't disappoint at all!!

For the characters we get glimpses of our previous love buddies, such as: Ember, Vin, Adri, Emmett, Trevor, Trent...but we also get new ones as Carmelo, Cam or Saxon and so many more.

I really can't wait to see Carmelo's story in Carmelo's Malice.

These kids grew up so fast and I just can't wait how their life unfold.

This was my very first book by this author. I didn’t know her work, no backstory or what the book was even about. I went in completely blind. And I LOVED it. Going on blind and not reading her previous books, I didn’t feel lost or confused. I will say tho. Since I went back and read this and her previous books (ember and Vince and Travis, adri, and emmit) I would definitely recommend reading those first.
However. This book was still AMAZING!! I loved it. And since I’ve read the previous books, this has easily made its way into my top 5 favorite series of all time. It had drama, angst, action, hot sex, EVERYTHING! I never got bored. I loved every second. I cried in some parts. I laughed. I was on the edge of my seat a few times. It was just everything. I got this book as an ARC and voluntarily read and reviewed it. I can’t recommend this and her other books enough. I quickly became obsessed. Do yourself a favor and read this, and her other book starting with Through The Pain! You won’t be sorry! Love love love. I love these stories, I love the characters and I’ll probably continue to stalk this authors work from here on out.

Dang Ivy is one twisted beotch! But we love her all the same!
.
I love Ivy. Her brand of dark and twisted was both captivating and also had me question my own mental state.
.
I already need book 2. So if you have been living under a rock this is a take two series of the Whitsborough Chronicles Series only this one follows their children. Ivy is, if you have read the WC series, the eldest daughter of Ember and Vin. Much like her mother she is a complete badass but she is also worlds apart from her. She is strong in her own ways and I loved learning all about her. She’s fierce and a survivor and makes one hell of a character to sink into. When her and Neil start off it was like history repeating itself as her parents started much the same but Ivy and Neil are also unique.
.
Both are incredible characters with an unforgettable journey and I loved being along for the ride. There’s still so much to happen so I’m looking forward to how Rene plays it out and I’m chomping at the bit to see it all u fold. This is a dark and twisted word and I’ve loved the detail, the easy to read nature even with how dark it is. Very enthralling and engaging and completely original and unique.
.
I loved this book and I can feel the book hangover starting already. I NEED book 2 like yesterday. Chrissy is an incredible author and I am a fan for life!

So I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review so here it goes.

Holy hotness I was not disappointed in any way. I must strongly advise readers that this is a DARK romance and does contain triggers for some readers. So with that mentioned let me say that I have been following this author since I read Embers story( who happens to be Ivys mother). Ivys story was just as gripping as her mother's is. She is still hurting from the loss of her grandmother. Then after a tragedy occurs with her best friend Charlotte it just seems to throw Ivy into a series of events that leaves Ivy a mess. Enter Neil, who blames Ivy for Charlotte's death and it's like sparks are ignited into an inferno. I totally felt for both Ivy and Neil. Of course like so many instances I feel that so much anger and resentment could have been avoided with communication, but like every other human being in this world we take too much on ourselves instead of sharing. Overall this book was an awesome read and I felt this was a great start for the progeny. I definitely recommend this book!

Wow!!! This author is brilliant. Ivy is tough but has too many bad things happen to her. She blames herself for Charlottes death and even takes the consequences. She faces many bumps on the crooked road she has been dealt with but at the end opportunity and revenge will conquer. Neil hates ivy but then things change, truth comes out and problems are solved. Ivy is truly Embers daughter. Will Neil and IVy have their epic love story? Or will it all crumble down?

WTF am I supposed to say here? Except maybe holy shit balls on a mother-effing stick. If you haven’t realized by now, I’m like practically obsessed with CA Rene. I read Whitsborough Chronicles over the holidays and it took me days...days to get over it! so of course I had to get my grubby little hands on this arc because I knew it was gonna be special. Little did I realize how freaking epic it really is. The Progenies series starts with Ivy, the eldest daughter of Vin and Ember. And if you read Chronicles then you know their story. Ivy may not be the MMA fighter badass her mother is but that doesn’t make her any less strong. to harbor secrets, to keep going even though she feels like she has nothing. She’s a fighter, she’s a survivor. She’s my definition of a badass. And Neil, he was cruel at first, with good reason but he flipped to loving and caring about Ivy super quickly. The same way Vin flipped over for Ember. It was super cute, and I don’t want really want to say cute when this book is NOTHING at all like cute. But I’m practically speechless after reading this. You got another one, babe. You knocked this one out and I’m already itching for book 2.

✨ I wish I can tell you everything I want about this book but I'll try to make this as spoiler free as I can (let's hope it's enough).

First of all, reading about Ivy in the beginning got me by surprise. I'm a fan of the Whitsborough series and I knew why they were the way they were. Even with Ember, I think the book starts with she telling her life. But with Ivy this didn't happen. Trust me, there is a reason why she is exactly like that.

After reading her story, I love her so much because she is a fcking strong girl, she's an amazing friend and she is definitely a Greene-Torres daughter.

And then, there is Neil. I love him. That's it.

Neil had me in his hand since the very beginning because of everything he represents. Honestly, I haven't been this in love with a C.A.'s male character since Travis, I just want to hug him and tell him that he's amazing.

Neil and Ivy's relationship is so freaking amazing. Neil is looking for vengeance and Ivy is willing to give it to him. BUT THEN... Oh, then. This book is not slow burn, this explodes ever since they put their eyes on each other. And I'm here for it.

AND the fact that Neil did this things he didn't know were so important. Ugh, I love him.

Also, reading about the Whitsborough' series characters being adults just made everything better. I heard people saying that some authors destroy some characters when they become parents but this doesn't happen here. I was so scared it would. I'm always happy to see everyone and understand references.

You don't have to read the Whitsborough series first but those books are gold so I recommend you do it anyways.

I highly recommend this book if you like dark romance, but it does have some triggers for some readers and some serious subjects. You just have to know that this is DARK, not as dark as Whitsborough (with explicit violence) tho.

Y me encanta.

So, I must tell you that I have gone blind into this book and it was not what I was expecting at all. This book is full of triggers, so be aware of them. I cried a lot for Ivy, my heart broke for her, for what she endured and for her suffering. I really don’t know how to write this review, I’m at a loss of words.

Ivy and Neil are two strong characters and despite their hard image, their heart is good, and they always think about the others, before them. At least in Ivy’s case this thinking and caring for others, changed her life, and not in a good way. The choices she made, shaped her as a woman and made her stronger. Neil has some anger issues, because he doesn’t know the whole story around what happened in his family, so he redirects his anger to Ivy. But he is a good guy, you will see for yourself.

Now, I’m not saying anything about the plot, because well you need to go in blind, like myself, *muahaha*, but one thing is sure, the plot is written as such to keep you connected, yes, yes, connected. There is not much information at the beginning, I found it kind of slow, so I might have started to make all kinds of scenarios. But it picks up, and things happen, there is a lot of action. And what I loved the most, is the appearance of parents and sisters and brothers and family. Family which we already met in Whitsborough Chronicles. I loved the interaction between Ivy and her sister, Dahlia, her flower.

This was Ivy’s journey, and I must admit that I want to know more and where she will go in life.
I must say that this can be read as a standalone, but reading the parents stories, Whitsborough Chronicles, will make the whole experience better.

Damn this story was so good, dark and twisted. Book one in the Whitsborough Progenies series by C.A. Rene, Ivy's Venom is a story full of drama, angst, grief, abuse and of course, steamy hot sex - a lot of it too.
After the loss of her grandmother and then best friend shortly after, Ivy was sent away to a reform school. After being gone for two years, Ivy returns to Whitsborough but is not the same girl she once was. She is lost and needs to find herself. With the exception of her cousin, she has cut all ties with people who were once her friends before she left town. She races her car and fucks away her feelings in order to feel nothing, but underneath it all is a girl who feels guilt and blames herself. A girl who was repeatedly abused and is keeping a secret that causes her to have terrible nightmares.
Neil is in college and rarely goes home to Whitsborough. He works part time in a hotel and when he sees Ivy for the first time in two years, all the hatred he feels for her resurface, but at the same time, lust also starts creeping in. He feels as though he is betraying his sister by lusting after Ivy, because after all, it was Ivy's fault that his sister died in the first place, or was it?
These two have intense chemistry and the sparks fly high whenever they're near each other. This story was just that good. I loved how she was strong, free with her sexuality and a fighter. I also liked seeing her vulnerable side, how only Neil was able to bring that side out of her. The story was twisted with drama at every turn and while some scenes may be triggering for some people, I think it was necessary for us to learn more about Ivy's character and the kind of life she led. Oh, and the sex scenes, omg, damn were they hot. C.A. Rene really knows how to bring out not only her twisted, psychotic side while telling a story, but her kink was hot. This story was told in dual POV and has some MF and FF scenes as well as scenes that are violent and abusive so if you're not into that, then maybe don't read this book.

Ivys Venom is book one in a standalone spinoff series of the Whitsborough chronicles. Also known as the Whitsborough Pronegies.

Ivy Greene eldest to Ember and Vincent Greene . Her character was everything expected her to be ! Fiery attitude and strong willed hiding a heart of gold . Ivy's teenage life starts out with a death she wasn't ready for and from then on turned into a series of unfortunate events . Returning back to Whitsborough after being gone for some time ivy bumps into an unsuspecting character she didn't expect to see anytime ever .

Neil Jones is ... woooooooo! He gives off such a good guy vibe! educated and handsome ? CHECK . But when you least expect it? Mmm good guy turns bad with a snap of fingers . Keeping it together for his sister and mothers sake all the while falling apart inside bc of feeling that thin line between love and hate for the girl he felt ruined his life? I loved his character!

C.A. did such an amazing job with their story and it had my emotions all over the place! I felt for both of these characters so much that and what they went through. Felt like real life scenarios .. (aside from the black slaughter.. ya know 🤣🤣)
I'm glad to be back in the whitsborough world!

So first off, I'm apparently missing out by not reading the original Whitsborough Chronicles. So I would personally suggest reading that series first but it's not necessary to enjoy this read. This author has truly penned a strong a** heroine, Ivy has been through it but still comes out swinging. Some insanely traumatic things happen to this girl and boy does it hurt, my chest was tight all the way through this read. Not all of it hurts though, there's some intense, my body is on fire, I need a cold shower moments that had me writhing in my seat.

And then there's Neil, my face heats with just the thought of him. Tattooed, smart, cocky, and driven by his hate. The past haunts him and he's determined to get answers and vengeance. But the very thing that is his hate is also a temptress that he can't get out of his head.

This read is deliciously dark, painful, and intoxicating. I devoured it, from the first page to the last. I need more, I need the next book, because the side characters are just as intriguing as the main characters. Now excuse me while I go cry from this book hangover.

Ivy's venom is the first book in the Whitsborough Progenies series which is the next generation of the characters in the Whitsborough Chronicles series. I would suggest reading that series first.

Ivy, OMG this poor girl has had some stuff happen to her that no one should ever have to experience, She is tough, She is a survivor and the things we learn during the book she is loyal to the ones she loves.

Neil has some hate & anger issues towards Ivy as he has some misconceptions about what happened in his sister's accident a few years ago but the more time he spends with Ivy he believes everything he has thought for so long isn't as close to the truth as he once thought. Can he let go of his beliefs so Ivy & him can build a future together.

This is a dark romance book and some scenes may trigger you but if you have no triggers then buckle up and get ready for a ride because Chrissy is about to take us on a journey with the next gen of characters and I for one can't wait for more books on this series.

Once again this arthur has nailed it with her word's as she takes us back to Whitsborough. This is about Ivy who is Ember and Vin's eldest daughter who was sent away to boarding school for 2 yrs has come back to finish her senior year at Primrose amid the whispers of a tragedy that sent her away in the 1st place. She's come back changed that she's hiding behind this tough attitude, but she can't hide it from Neil who's the brother of her best friend she is accused of killing. He knows he should hate her, but he can't help himself. Let's just say the lies and suspense is alive and well in Whitsborough.

This is the first book in the Whitsborough Progenies, and the story of Ivy. Ivy is Ember, and Vin's daughter, and after having gone through a tough time, has come back to be with her family, But coming back to town, brings her face to face with Neil, and Neil blames her for the death of his sister. This was an emotional read, this was well written, and the characters had insane chemistry. This is intense, twisted, raw, dark, suspenseful, steamy, and dramatic.

I am trying to articulate my thoughts with this one and all I can scrape together is WOW..Another truly spectacular gem.... its fabulous. Ivy is bad a** Now I have to say that Im sad its a standalone even though I dont believe at all that the story is rushed. ITs not, its put together perfectly, I just want more of the story as her mother had. Her series literally made me not touch a book for 4 days as I was bookmatized..
We get to know Ivy in this time jump from the end of her mom Embers story, which if you havent read that one, you need to as alot will not make sense to you. I think you can definitley get the gist of it but go read Whitsborough Chronicles too! What is wrong with you? What are you waiting for?
Anyways, Ok so now we have Ivy and at first you feel like oh shes just a rebellious rich kid and then all of the sudden you know that story and its not pretty, its dark, dirty, gutterworthy is the stuff that Ivy had dealt with in her short life. Her family has kept almost all of the secrets of their world in hopes that Ivy would not have to be involved but that quickly becomes apparent that she needs to be introduced to The Black Slaughter(GAH i love that term) when we find out why shes home from New York. Then she gets mixed up with none other than Whitsboroughs finest and all hell breaks loose..And it all becomes dark and dirty. In comes Neil. Neil is known to Ivy because his sister was her best friend that everyone is blaming her for her death..It starts out as revenge for him as he hates her but quickly changes into a fight for "the life you want" type situation. Neils character was developed so well. Im glad it wasnt instalove but then that brought him to listening and understanding and that meant more than anything..This book takes us through grief, loss, depressing thoughts but Ivy perservered and she didnt let it get her down and fought for what she wanted, oh she got the guy too. So you must read this and you must also read Whitsborough Chronicles too... I would love to see more of the family and side characters especially Saxon, Dahlia, and the cousins...ALL IN ALL amazing amazing read.

Before I begin my review for Ivy's Venom (Whitsbourer Progenies book 1) by C.A Rene, I would personally like to thank the author and tlknrdy2me.com for the opportunity to read this ARC and I have reviewed it honestly.

She has his sisters blood on her hands. After 2 years in reform school, Ivy is back to spread her venom. Neil hates her. He wants her blood. He wants revenge. But even more he wants her body. Welcome to Whitsbourer, where the hate is hazardous, the pleasure is plentiful, and the inner demons are ravenous.

Ivy's Venom features, but is not limited to, the following themes:
○ New Adult
○ High school
○ Dark romance
○ Enemies to lovers
○ Badass FMC
○ FF and MF scenes
○ ***Triggers***

My overall rating for Ivy's Venom is…

5 Stars!

Ivy's Venom started with a scandalous and sexually free teenager, but took a bitterly brutal and ugly twist. Ivy is a freaking, fierce feline! I love her sexuality and carefree personality. And Neil! Don't get me started on my new bookfriend number 1! I love his character growth, bad boy exterior and marshmallow soul. The storyline hooked me with that first sentence and hot damn does Rene know how to satisfy in the steam department! I also really love the intimate connection Rene creates between author, characters and reader; its poetic and beautiful and downright painful. Overall, I can't fault this book and look forward to reading more work by this author.

This is a more Darker storey than I usually read but I loved it it was done so well that it flowed perfectly and was done in a really good way that didn't feel too heavy.
Neil is struggling with how to deal with Ivy after blaming her for his sister's death but we all know the line between love and hate is a blurred thing most of the time.
I can't wait for the next book in this series to come out.
So if you're looking for a book that will keep you on your toe's, have your temperature going through the roof and have you not knowing what's going to happen next this is definitely the book for you.

C.A has done it again. This was amazing and Ivy a brilliant FMC. I loved everything about this book. C.A is one of my favourite authors and this book is another reason why. I couldn't put it down. It has everything I look for in a book and did not disappoint at all. Cannot wait for more in this series.

Another new author for me! This genre is definitely her wheelhouse it seems!

Amazing characters and story. I was held captive in the pages of Ivy's Venom.

Intense, angst, highly emotional.

My heart would beat so fast at times, I had to take calming breaths to slow it down!

I cannot wait to read other books in this author's catalog!!!

I received an advanced reader copy, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

CA is back at doings what she does best and that’s writing these deliciously dark stories! Ivy’s Venom standalone is second generation from The Whitsborough series, which I was so excited to read about!

I told myself I’ll only read a few chapters before getting some sleep, but I ended up devouring this book in 1 sitting. I may or may not have fan girled and have a little squeal seeing Ember and Vin and the rest of them as parents.

Ivy is a complex character filled with trauma, hate and regret, my heart broke so many times for this girl! I loved how she couldn’t hide away from the pain with this fake tough exterior that Neil could see through from a mile away! I felt for Neil to throughout this story trying to fight his feelings for the girl he thought took his sister away! Whilst trying to piece together the truths of it all..

Loved reading about Black Slaughter and opening up about their family! Seriously CA you slayed me with this book once again!

Can’t freaking wait to see where you take us next!

C.A Rene you SLAY ME!!!

Ivy’s Venom quickly climbed to the top spot for my favorite C.A Rene book. This is the second generation of Whitsborough characters, so expect some of the same and a lot of new.

So many emotions... the angst, the heartache, the nostalgia. I knew I missed the Whitsborough gang but I was seriously squealing like a fan girl throughout this book. God, I can never get over how they take care of each other, completely, always. Also, my Travis is all grown up and DADDY VIN is actually a daddy!!! Does. Get any hotter *Sigh*

C.A creates such complex, broken, characters. They aren’t perfect and they don’t handle things in a perfect way. It’s what makes this story so satisfying. They are human, they are messy and they are damn toxic but deep down buried under all the trauma, there is love and family and redemption.

Ivy is so much like her mom, but different in so many ways. Her vices are different and she handles her damage differently and I have to admit, I was not on board with it at first, but damn if she didn’t hook me with her venom. Neil is dealing with his own past but still manages to be swoon worthy.

I will stop gushing now. Read this book!!! But be warned, as in usual C.A Rene fashion, it is dark and filthy and some parts are triggering, but it also makes you FEEL. So proceed with caution but DO PROCEED!
