Christy Barritt is an author, freelance writer and speaker who lives in Virginia. She’s married to her Prince Charming, a man who thinks she’s hilarious—but only when she’s not trying to be. Christy’s a self-proclaimed klutz, an avid music lover who’s known for spontaneously bursting into song, and a road trip aficionado. She’s only won one contest in her life—and her prize was kissing a pig (okay, okay… actually she did win the Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Suspense and Mystery also). Her current claim to fame is showing off her mother, who looks just like former First Lady Barbara Bush
When she’s not working or spending time with her family, she enjoys singing, playing the guitar, and exploring small, unsuspecting towns where people have no idea how accident prone she is.

I would say this is the most predictable of the series, or maybe I just had a great guess.

Overall, the series is cute and fun if you want a non-serious read. There are some discrepancies and I really wished everything with the Barracudas had returned and been solved instead of disappearing at Book 6.

There are very brief mentions of God, but I would consider the series clean, not Christian.

The romance doesn’t go too far, but it does have a lot of kisses and appreciation of looks.

The character list was fun to follow and Joey did have good growth throughout the series. Totally loved Jackson, and the little surprise twist ending was cute.

Glitch and Famous digs back in Joey and Jackson's lives. They are in the planning of a big event. Of course, as a big movie star, Joey does not want the information to leak. Of course, with Joey, readers know that is not a reality. The story starts with her actor friend approaching her house all beat up. It didn't take long for me to figure out who did it and why. It was pretty easy to figure out. While the mystery didn't surprise me, I still flipped through the pages to see how Joey would handle this mystery and the moving forward of Joey and Jackson's relationship. A must read for fans of Barritt's other Joey or any books by Barritt.

I received a complimentary copy of Glitch and Famous by Christy Barritt, but the opinions stated are all my own.

“See to it that . . . no root of bitterness springs up and causes trouble.”

“There was only one thing I was certain about: I had to help my friend and figure out who did this to her.”

“One could plan for her life, but sometimes life had different plans.”

3.25 Stars Out Of 5

Joey really lives up to her moniker of “The Worst Detective Ever” in this book. I figured it out in the second chapter. And there are 41 chapters. I felt like the jokes in the last few books fell flat but they were really good in this one. And like every Christy Barritt book, there are several chases after bad guys as well as someone being followed in a car and getting bumped from behind. A nice little “surprise” at the end that I was also expecting. Not sure how many more books there will be in the series but hoping they will get back to how good they were at the beginning.

I really enjoyed this installment even though I figured out the mystery very early in the book - long before Joey did. I don't want to give anything away, but I loved how Joey and Jackson's friends came together for them in the end and I loved how the book ended!

Sometimes helping a friend can be almost deadly...

Oh, Joey... Even when planning the wedding we have waited nine books for you can't escape your predilection for sticking your nose into trouble...and always finding it... But that's the fun of reading a Worst Detective Ever Mystery novel! Joey's antics, Jackson's protective patience, the well-meaning but questionable help of the Hot Chicks, with the amazing Outer Banks scenery as the backdrop to murder and mayhem. Glitch And Famous has all of those well-loved elements and there just may be a few more tricks up author Christy Barritt's sleeve.

I've been in love with The Worst Detective Ever Mystery Series right from the beginning. It's been my favorite Christy Barritt series and I've eagerly anticipated news of each new book's release. From its currently pretty pink and turquoise cover to the last page I loved Glitch And Famous! I finished all 340 pages in a matter of hours because I just couldn't seem to be able to set it aside for anything.

While I did have one major plot element figured out, who was behind the attacks on Joey's friend, I was still in for some surprises, though they weren't as unpleasant for me reading them as they were for Joey and Jackson experiencing them. I love Christy Barritt's mix of cozy mystery and romantic suspense in The Worst Detective Ever Mystery Series, it's what makes Glitch And Famous, and the others, so much fun and a delight to read. Read them in order, but, you seriously won't want to miss a single Joey Darling mystery...you'll love the surprise at the end of this one...

(I received a copy of this book from the author. All opinions are entirely my own.)

Joey is finally done with her busy filming schedule, and has cleared a few months of her schedule so she and Jackson can FINALLY plan their wedding. She knows there's nothing in the world she would rather do than marry him, but their schedules keep getting in their way. Now she figures that it's going to happen, and even has Phoebe set up appointments so they have no choice. Then a fellow actress shows up on her door step and asks to stay for a couple nights to unwind, and to hide from the press after a PSA gone wrong. Joey figures after a night or two Lennon will miss Hollywood and go back, then she and Jackson can settle down to wedding planning. But when Lennon gets beaten up, and then it appears like someone is out hurt her even more, Joey can't turn her out. So the only logical solution is put on her private detective hat like Raven Remington and discover who is behind these attacks, preferably before she has to go postpone her wedding planning again.
Because this book came out several months after I read the last one, I was a little foggy on some of the past events. None of them were key plot points, so it wasn't like I had to put down the book and re-read another one again as a reminder, but since I read all the other books within just a few months, this one having such a long gap was different for me. It also may have ended permanently. The last chapter of the book made me think it might be wrapping things up. There isn't an official statement, and there are still a couple of things that she could wrap up so I'm hoping I'm wrong.

Another quick read in this fabulous series where I had NO clue who the culprit was! This was probably my least favorite in the series because of ONE character who gave new meaning to what a BAD friend is all about. I was SO frustrated with this person that I wanted to reach through my kindle and shake her for messing with Joey's private life and even endangering her.

As always, LOOOOVE the movie references stated throughout the story. No idea if the author truly knows movies this well or has to research them, but they are perfectly written in every chapter.

I absolutely despised Lennon, never once felt sorry for her, and could NOT believe Joey tolerates her to the extent she does. The scene where Joey is FINALLY relaxing in a bath to have Lennon demanding they go for cheese, it's doubtful I would have been so accommodating at that point. Thankfully, despite all the threats and craziness that Joey endures, it's a just ending, even sweetly done.

SO looking forward to more books in this series, Barritt humors me every time with Joey Darling and her Nags Head peeps!

I was so excited for this tenth installment of the Worst Detective Ever series. I had missed Joey and her crazy antics and the rest of the quirky cast of characters so much.

Joey's ready for some downtime as she plans her wedding to Jackson Sullivan. But as we all know, life is never dull for long when Joey's around. An old acquaintance of hers, Lennon Seagram, has come to stay with Joey to try to hide from the press after a publicity nightmare. It's not long before trouble finds Lennon as she's attacked and beaten up. Threats continue to pour in and the danger surrounding her and her friend escalates.

I really enjoyed this story. It was a quick and exciting read that I had an impossible time putting down. I figured out what was really going on pretty quick, but there was a nice little twist that came along and shook things up.

This series is such a breath of fresh air. It's so much fun and full of so many laughs and a ton of heart. I highly recommend it.

Suspenseful, twists, turns, comedy, pain and love

I have really enjoyed this series (and hope it's not over), but I wish there weren't so many references to current movies, stars and songs. As a Christian, I try to limit my intake of worldly things. I read these books because they are clean and VERY good. But, I rarely understand the references to people, current song lyrics or movie lines (unless they are classic). I understand that she is an actress and that's her thing, but why not Christian lyrics and Classic movies? Having said all of that... I will say that I like how these stories aren't all about solving murders. They deal with other mysteries and mayhem and Christy Barritt is good at weaving all the details together to keep you guessing, until the end. I had my suspicions, and I was right, at first. But wait! There's more! As usual, there were more plot twists to come. Thanks for another fun Adventure With Joey, Jackson and the gang!

Joey Darling is back in action. Seeking down time and wedding preparations, she plans to relax in her Outer Banks home. Instead, her visiting friend pulls her into a new adventure, one that could turn deadly. Her houseguest, Lennon Seagram, faces criticism and threats, interrupting Joey’s life and practically taking over her house. Although she plays a TV detective, she plans to let the police handle this case, and her fiancé Jackson Sullivan oversees the investigation. However, as usual, Joey ends up in the middle of things. The story contains plenty of exciting action as they try to get to the bottom of things. Whether you’ve read other in the series or not, this book will stand on its own, but I think they are best read in order. I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.

Welcome back to the world of Joey Darling, where nothing goes as planned! Joey is finally back home in Nags Head, NC after her busy filming schedule and ready to set a wedding date with the love of her life, Jackson Sullivan. Nothing would stop them this time! Well, except for a friend crashing at her house who is attacked and who begins to really complicate her life. As Jackson tries to solve the case, and Joey tries to keep her plan her wedding keeping private life private, Lennon's attack and the aftermath work to tear all of it apart. Joey and Jackson know they need to find the culprit before their plans can get back on track.

I love this series and was happy to see another book out. I received a copy of this book for free but all the opinions are my own.

Joey is back!!

Joey Darling is ready for some down time to plan her wedding... until a friend shows up, and trouble seems to have followed her to the Outer Banks. Of course, Joey always turns to her real life leading man, Detective Jackson Sullivan. They work together to find the truth behind the mysterious trouble that seems to keep following Joey's friend. Will they be able to solve the mystery, and still have time to plan their own wedding?

I always love a good Joey story! A mix of great humor and suspense, and all the favorite cast of characters!

The best 1 yet!

Christy never fails to deliver and she has really delivered big time with this 1!
I always wait anxiously for her next book in all of her series and am never disappointed but this is the absolute best of the Worst Detective series.
I laughed and I cried, was surprised at every plot twist and the ending was perfect for Joey Darling.
If you're looking for a book that will fully entertain you then try this one, you won't be disappointed and you'll be hooked on the whole series and start looking at MS Barritt's other series as well.

“Glitch and Famous” by Christy Barritt was a great read! This is the last book in the Worst Detectives Mystery Series.

This book follows Joey and Jackson. They are trying to plan a wedding, but the plans are put on hold as one of Joey’s acquaintances comes to see her. And this starts lots of mayhem and craziness! This book keeps you going from one page to the next.

I highly recommend this book and the whole series. Christy Barritt is one of my favorite authors, and she never disappoints!

I received this book from the author for my honest opinion.

Joey Darling is smarter . . .

. . . than GLITCH AND FAMOUS makes her. Or, maybe, she truly is clueless about some things and I just never noticed. Regardless, I spent about two-thirds of this book frustrated that Joey hadn't yet figured out what I had. And then the final third of the book more than made up when the focus was redirected a bit. Add in that last chapter and call me satisfied.

Welcome back, Joey Darling! I've missed the Worst Detective Ever, her crazy antics, eccentric friends and the Outer Banks. It's difficult to believe this is book #10 in the series, but I hope for many more to come from author Christy Barritt. This edition has a few new characters with a satisfying conclusion of more intense suspense.

I received a complimentary copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.

I had an Advance Readers Copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Christy Barritt’s books are always a good read and this one is no exception. The story of Joey Darling and her fiancé Jackson Sullivan continues as they attempt to plan their wedding but keep getting interrupted. A so called friend visits and brings threats on her life. The twists in the plot add to the interest of the book. I would recommend reading this book.

Joey, Joey, Joey!

The poor girl just can’t get a break! She comes back home to plan her wedding is peace and ends up helping a friend for a few days. That wouldn’t be a problem, but Joey ends up caught in the middle of a diabolical plan that endangers her life! Will she ever be able to plan her wedding? Will she live that long? Christy Barritt has done it again with her keep-you-guessing plot and great characters!

The Glitch and Famous book in the Worst Detective Ever series, was a fun book to read. I found it interesting that Joey Darling allowed her friend, Lennon, to stay with her even though they were not truly close friends. This act of kindness leads to Joey becoming involved in a lot of crazy scary happenings with Lennon. The story takes interesting and unsuspecting turns. I would highly recommend this book because after all the adventure throughout, the ending is well worth the read.

Joey Darling is trying to plan her wedding to detective Jackson Sullivan but things get complicated when her acquaintance Lennon is targeted for rehoming her dogs after filming a PSA about adopting pets. She’s beaten up outside a bar and receiving threatening texts. Can they get to the bottom of it before someone gets seriously injured? Will Joey and Jackson ever find time to plan and have a wedding?

my thoughts: this book is one of the favorites that I have by this author. I love the humor, I love the chicklit feel, and I love the cozy mystery. I did figure it out semi easy, but it didn't ruin my reading pleasure. And as usual, there were some unexpected twists and turns. If you are looking for a good cozy mystery series, you will want to read this collection. The books all do stand alone so you can start anywhere. I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.

A clean mystery series fit for any age

I felt lots of frustration and irritation with this one. I knew whodunit from the beginning, so I was bugged that Joey was so clueless. It also seemed to end suddenly and not as heartfelt as I would have expected considering Jackson was eager to get married and we'd been building up to it for 10 books. I was also bugged that Zane's personality seemed to change so drastically over the course of the series.

I loved this series

I've been so busy reading other series written by Christy that I had completely forgotten this book was auto-delivered. It was the perfect ending to this series.I don't do spoilers so you'll have to read it to enjoy the mystery and the amazingly beautiful ending. Thank you Christy. I truly don't know how you put out so many great series but God bless you sweetie keep them coming. You are the only author in my kindle library.

The Best Worst Detective Yet

I’ve loved all of this series, but this one is pure Joey Darling. She’s grown and changed through the series, but she’s still so real. Joey is back in the Outer Banks ready to get her life back on track—like that’s going to happen. It’s a good thing she has friends, at least most of them. And will her wedding ever get planned?

This was a good read, although, I figured out the plot right off. Joey was a good person and wanted to trust her friends, and wanted to help people. She had a good man waiting to marry her in Jackson. I think most people will enjoy it, it's a clean book.

Great read

Yay! I love these characters and their stories. My only disappointment is that I'd like to see more examples of their faith in Christ. This is a great cozy mystery filled with excitement, great characters, and scenery.
