EXCELLENT BOOK OF BLOCKS
I am part of a local quilt group, and I signed up to do a monthly themed round-robin and found this book very helpful in creating blocks. For my group, they were to be 5" blocks (4½" finished), which is quite small and tedious. I had fun using Quilt Block Genius to come up with several of my eleven themed blocks for the year. I found the book to be informative, with ideas in the back on setting your blocks that create a new look. There are also charts at the back of the book with measurements.
Three of my blocks include Churn Dash, page 54; Carmen's Block, page 30 and Hidden Square, page 36. I have covered the measurements. But included the page with my block to give examples.

The book has a lot of potential with some very good elements, but I just can't get passed some of the mistakes that I noticed. It was only by seeing the first edition that I was able to translate them. A lot of the pages are just replicated verbatim from the previous edition, but not updated for the new information. For starters page 7: there are 7 grids, not 4. Page 76 is supposed to be a 4x4 grid information page, not a 3x3 information grid. I'm not sure about all the maths of the blocks being accurate as such. If you do have the book check out the publisher's page for corrections, it has a few errata for a few blocks. I'm just very disappointed; it looked so good, but failed to deliver.
