So this isn’t the reason it caught my eye but Lucky sounds like this vaudeville/blues/jazz musician that I’ve been obsessed with from Fayetteville, Arkansas named Randall Shreve. I highly recommend checking him out on YouTube, he’s amazing.

Whew boy! He’s sexy af! I may not be a fan of rockstar romance but piano players totally rev my engine. I feel like it’s the same reason I love artists, something about their hands. Personality also tends to be smooth and sensual.

It doesn’t necessarily take away from his charm but Lucky is a bit of a smarmy womanizer. There’s obviously a story behind that and I’m thinking little miss sweet shy doll is gonna be a changing point. At least I hope so.

Lol his manager warned him about girls being stalkers but I’m pretty sure he’s got the stalking thing covered.

Ooph, this guy’s a prick too, so multidimensional. Thank god he’s shown how awful he can be now that they’re trapped together.

Oh! He’s a fucking hypocrite too!

I had no idea this was enemies to lovers and this vitriol between them is vicious! And surprisingly, I’m loving every minute of it!

Eventually they stopped hating on each other as much until it dwindled to neutral territory. But when they fell, they fell hard and it’s the sweetest thing ever. Unfortunately unrequited love is a bitch!

My only complaint is the time lapses, I wish we could’ve experienced the ups and downs and the growth in real time. I also felt like the blurb was a bit of false advertising by saying it was instalove and had debauchery. This certainly was the opposite of instalove which is actually better in my opinion. And this certainly wasn’t as kinky, as far as to say it’s debauchery. Maybe it’s because I’m a dirty bitch but it is what it is.

Everything Lucky said about going home makes total sense. There’s no point other than drama for drama’s sake. Even though the drama/angst was welcome, I thought we needed a more realistic/understandable reason.

I may not have agreed with how we got there but everything that followed Ava’s choice was perfect. It was the rockiest rollercoaster and it brought us to the most beautiful conclusion.

Lucky and Ava!

All That Jazz is a quarentine tale featuring the famous pianist - that we met in Mr. Not Nice Guy - Lucky de Luca and Ava, one of his most faithful fans.
It all started with a show in Austin and an in-person meeting, then a contest in which Ava would always be one of the winners, a week stay at Lucky's Jazz Manor, parties, fun, lust, angst, Covid happening and so, quarentine as well, a very prolonged stay, more lust, angst, sexy banter, 🔥trysts🔥and falling in love. And then, the disconnection, the tragedy and the possibility of losing it all!
It's an engaging narrative which each one of us can relate to, emotional balanced with lots of funny, witty and h.o.t. moments!

Lucky and Ava are similar but at the  same time completely different. This book was a roller coaster of emotions. We all have a crush on a singer and the same happens to Ava. Lucky's music helped her get through a tough time in her life. The two meet at a concert of him and Ava intrigued him to the point of choosing her as the winner of his contest. What Ava envisioned as a week full of emotions turned out to be a nightmare but then the lockdown made it all worse. The story comes to life in this period making us feel all possible emotions. Excellent book despite the period in which it is placed.

3.5 Stars!

Being new to Ms.Evans’s work I’ve been looking so forward to picking up her books! As soon as I read the synopsis for this one I knew I had to pick it up first I really liked this story!

Ava and Lucky’s journey had my attention from the start! From their memorable first meeting to every moment in between that had me feeling so much, I enjoyed how their story brought many emotions out in me. I wasn’t sure what all was going to happen with them and I liked that. I just struggled at certain points.

With All That Jazz, Ms.Evans has created a good and different kind of read! I am looking forward to picking up more of her books!

I hope this book gets translated to as many languages as possible!! Deserves so much more than 5*.
This was such a beautifully written book that had so much to offer. Again, I cried a lot. Don’t know what’s wrong with me lately, probably I just managed to choose books that touched my soul. That is what literature should do, isn’t it? Ava and Vincent, aka Lucky de Luca have an interesting beginning, characterised by fan-based love and adoration on the part of Ava. I won’t give a synopsis here, as the author had already done that rather well. The book begins with the carefree days prior to the Pandemic that brought COVID 19 into our lives worldwide, with a storyline that plays out during the first lockdown. No matter where in the world the reader is, they will be able to relate to the restrictions, change of lifestyle, change of priorities, anxiety, emotional and physical trauma, the incredible sadness of all the lives lost depicted in the novel. Did I like everything in the book? Well, no! Reviving the atmosphere of the 1920-30s Jazz age was perfect, but the imitation of the decadent debauchery did not in my opinion contribute to the weight of the book. The blossoming emotional awakening, claustrophobia, and financial realities amongst other things of the lockdown, were all expertly weaved into the story. Regardless of where the reader is from, they will recognise and identify with so many aspects of the book. I also sanitise my shopping and to this day wash my vegetables in soapy water. The protagonists have a steamy hot relationship and there is a very informative description of the use of technology, not only to not feel so isolated but producing content that people want and are prepared to pay for, saving Lucky’s income potential. The young couple both have severe previous traumas that make them the individuals they are, and their fear, insecurities, lack of communication and lack of confidence make them victims to their entrenched reasoning and behaviour. The author must have spent a lot of time and effort researching the realities and experiences of people who were infected and hospitalised with Covid, and the reader gets a shocking insight into the pain, desperation, hopelessness, and loneliness of those suffering from severe infection. Do not be afraid to cry! Yes, as human beings we are vulnerable but there is a beautiful HEA bringing all the pain to a satisfying resolution. I don’t just recommend this book but think that this is the MUST-READ book of 2021!

This is the story of Lucky De Luca and Ava. He is a famous pianist and jazz player and she is his greatest fan. She had a miserable life that left her belief the she is a small thing that is not enough to think, wish and deserve the best. She survived all these years because of her love to Lucky. When Lucky went to give a concert in Austin, she was there and with her friend Zoe, she met him. She was extremely shy and Lucky loved that. He wanted her, but just to let her feel freedom and all his extravagant life. He told her, he will have a contest to choose three fans to join him at his manor in Louisiana for one week and he wanted her to enter. After an almost intent to kiss him, she decided to not enter in the competition but he already decided that one spot was hers. During the time she stayed ther, she realized that Lucky was not the person that she thought and decided to leave but then, the quarantine, and she got stuck there not for one week, but for months. There they had to learn how live together and see the good, the bad and the ugly of each other. Things changed and after a lot of events, a life threatening situation that could separate them forever.
I love the story, the plot and characters. I was mad many time with Lucky and his attitude with Ava, but at the end I understood the why. I would love to see the story of Zoe and Meyer. Great characters, well written. Highly recommended.

I guess you could call this a friends to enemies to lovers to enemies to lovers book. Yep, our main characters are hot and cold to each other so often I'm not even sure which way is up anymore.

The first part of the book is set against the backdrop of the initial Covid lockdown when it seemed that nobody you knew was getting it because nobody was leaving the house. You know the part where it was all a getting up late and day drinking adventure. And what an adventure this book treated us to. I really enjoyed the whole atmosphere of the jazz mansion and the partying (although it was definitely lacking in the promised debauchery).

The second part of the book takes us to lockdown lifting, where life seems more dangerous and risky. Although it was beautiful to see our main characters realising their love for each other, the manner in which it happens is just a little too raw and realistic for my liking.

*** Free book for an honest review ***

The book really slow and what I consider awkward in the beginning. But if you are just a little patience it reaches out and grabs you. Once the books takes off you become invested in the players as if you are there with them. I just so wanted to knock the crap out of Lucky so many times for acting like a typical bully until as you read it is a defense mechanism for his self-protection and once you realize this you really start routing for him. Then along comes Ava. I really felt sorry for her until the story evolves and you see her in a totally different light. Once the story takes off you will not put this book down as it leads on a roller coaster ride until the end and believe me you will stay on this ride until the end

All That Jazz
By Katherine L. Evans
Main Characters: Lucky and Ava
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
4 out of 5 stars
Lucky is a jazz musician and a pianist. Ava is an awkward and probably his greatest fan. She loves him but she also is not socially adept due to her parents and an ex-boyfriend. Ava was also extremely shy. Her best friend Zoe talked her into going to see Lucky play when he performed in Austin, TX. I liked Zoe and Meyer's characters more than Lucky and Ava. For me personally, it was hard to like anything about Lucky even to the end. This is a contemporary romance with a HEA ending. This book starts out like a fan-to-friends-to-lovers book.

Lucky is a jazz musician and Ava is his biggest fan, she finally sees him in person at a concert but feels she makes a fool of herself. Basically, Ava is very self conscious and Lucky is a street wise jerk who tries to fool everyone into thinking he’s a nice guy. She is invited to his house in New Orleans under the guise of winning a contest but he only wants her their to have sex and feed his ego. They end up quarantined due to COVID and she helps him put on a concert to save him financially. A little hard to get into the story especially due to Lucky’s character but did enjoy it and the author.

I've read several books written by Katherine L. Evans; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

Ava goes to a jazz concert with her friend Zoe where she meets Lucky; he’s the jazz player. They are running a contest; three lucky winners will get to spend a week at his mansion with him and his band. She enters and is drawn as a winner; but her week ends up a lot longer since she ends up quarantined there.

Spicy, sexy & emotional. There’s an interesting element to this author’s writing that I really liked. Her characters are not perfect. They’re a little broken which makes them seem real. The 1920’s jazz feel to the story was different and added an intriguing element to the story along with the always fabulous New Orleans French Quarters setting. I love the Big Easy and the super sexy NYC transplant musicians are right at home in the melting pot of music, partying and love. The piano player Lucky/Vin is a fabulous character flaws and all. A heartbreaking history that leads him to be callous at times but the mean seemed so realistic. His best bud Meyer is another fabulous character in the story along with all the extras in his Jazz Manor house that are sassy, sweet and at times sordid. The heroine in the story was also realistic even if I wanted to shake her at times. Ava was so ensconced in her low self worth that she lets life pass her by. Only her love for Lucky brought her happiness along with her bestie Zoey. I loved Zoey and hope she gets a story. Only when Ava is forced to quarantine in the Jazz Manor with Lucky and his housemates does she blossom. She and Zoey kick into gear after jobs disappear during the pandemic and the music scene dries up. The gals find a new venture and help Lucky stay relevant during a harsh time. His music thrives and his help to those housebound is terrific. And I haven’t even gotten to the spicy part of the story. There are some OTT steamy sex scenes especially between Lucky and Ava. He lights her up and it’s spectacular. A beast between the sheets! You know someone has to suffer in this pandemic story but I won’t spoil who. But it’s heartbreaking and so emotional as the sick one struggles with the virus and the loved ones stay strong for them. This kept my interest the whole time with the wonderful writing and spectacular characters. A terrific quarantine story with such realism as those forced together learn a new way of life and survival is paramount. It brought back a lot of the uncertainty of those early days that was so devastating. The romance was beautiful and sexy between our lovers. I did want an epilogue though. It just kind of ended. Still a fantastic read. Loved it!

Lucky already intrigued me and, although there have been times when I wanted to slap him, on the other hand he has conquered me.
Lucky is a famous pianist and Ava has been a fan of him for many years.
Lucky's music has helped her cope with very difficult things and moments in her life, so bad that even though the years have passed, the damage still lingers on her. Ava has no self-esteem, her parents and her ex completely destroyed her, so when Lucky invites her to spend a week with him, with other fans and his musicians at his house in NOLA, she hesitates and decides not to go, luckily her best friend Zoe finally convinces her. But her stay is not as expected, especially because she is caught in total confinement due to COVID-19.
Lucky and Ava's relationship has many ups and downs and also a lot of passion.
Lucky seems to have it all, but deep down he's empty. Before Ava, his life revolved around music, money, not caring about anyone but himself. Although he also has scars from the past when it comes to trust.
Both characters will have to fight their own demons, the pandemic, in order to be together. Although I have to say that some of his fights are epic. Lucky has a mean streak and when he opens his mouth angry…

Damn that Lucky ,he plays the piano, plays with others lives but plays with Ava's heart more.

Reading about poor Ava I thought nothing good could possibly go right for her. But having a friend like Zoey to push and support her . Things looked up for her. But Lucky the jazz piano man who had been in her life and helped her through some hard times on screen, meeting him was amazing until she thought she'd made a full of herself. In actual fact she had made an impression.
Reading his thoughts has you saying don't do it girl, stay away from him,he's trouble with a capital T..
But after a few self sabotaged each thing look up.
This book draws you in and chews you up ,smooth you out then ,heats it up. Then makes you cry.

Lucky is a jazz musician and Ava is one of his faithful fans, and when she meets Lucky at a performance, she is the lucky winner of a contest to spend a week with Lucky and his band, which is a life changing experience for Ava. Ava was looking forward to returning home after finding out that Lucky is not the man, she thought he was, but the pandemic happened, and she is stuck there of months. This is a good story which is filled with angst, lust, fun, banter, and is a steamy read. I look forward to reading more from this author whose work I recommend.

So good!!

Wow!! I had a really good time reading this book.
the beginning felt a bit cheesy but once I got pass that it got really good. I do admit Lucky was a freaking douche to poor Ava and went a little too far. But I feel like he redeemed himself because in the end he did care.
I do wish though we got to see more of their kinks since they were brought up in the beginning but weren’t explore later on.

The book started off slow, and at first, I couldn't get into the characters. The sex scenes were hot, and I kept on reading. Then, I started to like the characters and the plot. It discusses a terrible time in our history--COVID--but it is a passionate love story.
