Shauna - 26; nurse; lives in home town small town; has always been a “fun for a weekend or a week” girl
Micah - 32; restaurant owner/bartender; lives in a big city; hasn’t been in a relationship in almost ten years; previously owned a software company, sold it to find life-work balance
Micah and Shauna met on a brewery tour and Micah knew instantly that she was everything he’d ever wanted and wanted to know everything about her. After a month of text messages and phone calls he finally convinced her to go out with him. “Like Nothing Before” starts five months after they meet. They are included in the Woods Lake holiday short story collection (A Woods Lake Christmas) if you want to see them celebrate Christmas in the city together and then with Shauna’s family in Woods Lake (you do not need to have read the short story to read their full length book).
Micah and Shauna are the outgoing, adventurous couple both inside and outside the bedroom and sparks fly immediately in this couple’s story. Can a girl who’s never committed to anything more than a fun weekend or a week, find the happily ever after she was certain she never wanted?
Content Notes: book contains discussions and references to – car accident; death of family member and friend (not a main character, deaths are discussed and referenced but do not occur in the book); past controlling/manipulative/abusive relationships; unplanned and lost pregnancy.
Trope List: bartender; class warfare; insta-love; medical; opposites attract; small town; small town meets urban
Excerpt 1: Micah “I want us to be a long-term us. She’s it for me. She’s like no one I’ve ever known, and our relationship is like nothing before.”
Excerpt 2: Shauna “Yes,” I requested on breathless whisper. I had never enjoyed being restrained or blindfolded before, but the first time we tried, it was like nothing before, and I fucking craved it. I had always wanted some element of control before Micah, but with him, I wanted to give him complete control.
Excerpt 3: Micah I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her to me. I loved how her body fit perfectly against me like she was made specifically for me.
Excerpt 4: “We are going to be late. We should stop, Micah.”
“Gorgeous, we are already late. We are already stuck with dishes and clean up. Let’s finish what we started,” I ran my hands up her inner thighs as I spoke.
“We are almost an hour late. Dinner is in half an hour; we need to stop, Micah.”
“We’re stopping, but we will continue after we get home.”

She’s passionate about social justice, education reform, and special education service equity. She is married to her “game changer.” The man who showed her that being made a priority and treated with respect should be the standard not the exception. This story is about Shauna and Micah. They both come from horrible pasts. Shauna has never been ready to settle down so it took her a bit to go out with Micah. They had an instant connection. The chemistry between them is explosive. This book was fun, sexy, and a fantastic read. The story will have you laughing, crying and wanting more. Would absolutely recommend.

Small town/big city romance between Shauna and Micah. They have an instant hot connection and steamy passion but each have had problems in the past. The author brings an emotional story with vividly painted scenes and delivers a fun , entertaining read. I loved and would recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
This series is really fun to read. The premise that this tight-knit group of friends becomes family over the years. The matriarch and patriarch take in their own and their children's friends and give them a stable base to build their lives. The heroine and the hero both have difficult childhoods and spend most of their twenties finding their way. An unexpected encounter on a brewery tour brings Shauna and Micah together, they find their way to loving each other for their best lives. Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC.
I loved this book. Shauna’s story was so unlike any of the other books in the series but I loved that. The feel was different because Shauna and Micah are different. This is a story so steamy that I almost had to hose myself down but it didn’t feel forced or anything it just felt like that was how the story needed to pan out. And did I mention that I loved it.
I really enjoyed this book. The book it part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. As of writing this review, I haven’t read any of the other books in the series. Since I haven’t read any of the other stories, I felt that there were a lot of characters and names that were talked about that I didn’t necessarily understand who they were to the main characters. Also, there were some incidents that were referenced, but I didn’t have all the information to completely understand the issues that occurred in the past. However, it did not take away from the heart of the story. I understood enough that it did not bother me so much.
This story was about Shauna and Micah. I loved that their story was so different to me. They are already a couple. The story gives references to things that happened in the past, but focuses on their relationship now. They were so sweet to each other.
I absolutely loved how open to steamy things they both were. They discussed things that fulfilled them in the bedroom and other places. It was refreshing to me to read about awesome steamy times and what they could do to take care of the other’s needs. I loved how there was no shame in discussing certain things with each other. I really loved their love story. They were beautiful characters.
* Dual POV * Lots of steamy scenes * Wonderful characters * HEA with epilogues

This is the fairly low-drama story of Shauna and Micah's journey to their happy forever. They met when she was on a date with someone else, who ended up talking to Micah's brother. They both had hard childhoods to overcome, but managed to get themselves to a good place, both personally and professionally. I've just fallen in love with this extended family, so loving and caring. It was incredible to see the updates on everyone, especially the extended epilogue. I'm so glad to have found this author, and will continue to look for her books.

Shauna and Micah meet during a brewery tour and Micah knew right away that she was exactly what he has been searching for. They spend weeks getting to know each other through calls and texts before she finally agrees to go out with Micah. Shauna has always been the girl that aimed to have fun without commitment. It doesn’t take long before she realizes that’s exactly what she wants and she wants it with Micah. Will they find their happy ending together.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. Shauna and Micah met a while ago and she finally said yes to a date. They are open about what they want from a partner and life. They explore new things and learn more about each other. A sweet but steamy relationship develops. With their hearts involved, they might change their short term into long term.

I have completed "Like Nothing Before" and submitted the final manuscript for both the paperback and ebook. Paperback should publish by the ebook release date. I will update with the details of the paperback as soon as they're available to show both versions.
