This was really good. Read it in one sitting. I like the character development. The author also manages to keep readers interested despite the fact that the whole story takes place mainly in one room.
The audio of a stage production with Amy Irving, Chris Noth, and George Gaines is very good though a little hard to find (but with almost no cuts from the full text). The play, based on Washington Square by Henry James, first appeared in the late 1940s. A hesitant, introverted daughter of an imposing doctor comes to understand how the formality and politeness of her privileged life masks a lack of love.
