Originally called The Wedding, Something Borrowed takes place between The Curious Case of Prince Charming and The Glass Slipper Conspiracy.
When William is asked to look into the strange behavior of a bride to be, he soon discovers that as usual, Happily Ever After is much more complicated than anyone could have imagined.
I'm a freelance writer/instructor currently living in north-central British Columbia. I also enjoy playing video games (particularly RPGs and tactics games like Fire Emblem as well as the Mario/Kirby games), reading, hiking, taking care of animals, and shopping (on occasion). I would love to someday be able to make a full (or nearly full) living purely from writing fiction, but at least I'm fortunate enough to be able to work as a writer at all at this point.
I just read this story under the revised name of Something Borrowed, and realized I read it out of order (it belongs between books 1 and 2 of The Fairy Tale Case Files). A charming short story of another case for detective William Tenys, this was a nice story to fill in some of the events between the first 2 books. I'm not usually a fan of short stories but it was nice to have another excuse to visit Altria for a little while. I'm looking forward to visiting again in book 4 and beyond.
William Tenys has a new case. A case with a unique twist. This story is a nugget sized example of the what I've come to love about the Fairy Tale Case Files novels.
I read this short story after “The Curious Case of Prince Charming”, as it goes between books 1 & 2 in this series. If you want a sneak peek of Charlene’s fantasy/mystery side, this story can be a stand-alone and it takes less than a half hour to read! I flipped through the pages so fast. William Tenys is such a great character- I can’t wait to see him solve more mysteries!
