Runaway Trains, Demon Mimes and a bar where the booze won't get you drunk? Just another day in the life of a Judas Agent. Gabe thought he knew his partner, but when she takes on a freelance project to murder a few thousand people, he’s not so sure. A Judas Agent is supposed to wreak havoc among the living but not Gabe. Judas Iscariot recruited him as a double agent to stop this sort of thing from happening. So why has his boss had a sudden change of heart? Then a demonic band of clowns blows into town and makes Gabe the target of their deadly hijinks. Sure, it’s Hell, but, come on, there had to be a limit. If Gabe can’t find a way to derail his partner’s plans and stop the satanic circus, the word overkill could take on a whole new meaning. If you like snarky characters and dark humor, then you’ll love Artful Evil, the third book in the action-packed Judas Files urban fantasy series. Series now complete!
Artful Evil (The Judas Files #3) by C.G. Harris I really enjoy this series! It's about a guy in hell that is drafted to work secretly for Judas, yes that Judas, to stop major trouble on Earth without getting caught. Now our guy has a partner that wants to please her boss, the options are not good. It is a delicate balance. There are other interesting characters too! Our guy has a way of upsetting demons and people. This is a darkly funny, action packed, snarky at times, suspenseful situations, and yet I giggled more often than I expected to! I love the cover! That is one of Judas' body guards and very deadly! Excellent narration!
A great addition to the series! I really like how the book shows the relationship between each of the character, especially with Gabe and Zoe. Definitely enjoyed reading
Runaway trains, clowns, and hell oh my. Would it be too much to call this book one hell of an adventure? Well - it is. It is thrilling to the max and, frankly, hard to put down. There were points my heart was pounding hard I just had to see what happened. The main characters are relatable with real-world issues (even if they live in hell). Gabe, the main character, has such a big heart I just wanna squish his cheeks. The sense of humor in this book had me laughing out loud more than once.
Highly recommend it for anyone who loves urban fantasy!
Runaway Trains, Demon Mimes and a bar where the booze won't get you drunk? Just another day in the life of a Judas Agent. This is the third book in the series and life in Hell is good and getting better. For Gabe things seem to be not so good or are they? Will he be able to take back control and stop his partners plans or will it be a disaster. Same great characters and dark humor what more do you want. What a fantastic series this is........
If you have not read this Judas Files series by C. G. Harris, you’re in for a great time. I’ve read each of the three now, thanks to advance copies from the author, and find each novel gets better and more imaginative. It’s not a great thing to be in Hell where spontaneous firestorms can send inhabitants from their present uncomfortable state back to the horrifying and painful first days to start all over again. But those with bright minds, courage, and determination can move up in the ranks and earn privileges. Sounds like life on earth, right? Well, not quite. Dwellers in Hell aren’t good guys, even those like Gabe and his partner Alex who sometimes do good things, even if accidentally. The humor in this series is outstanding (but it’s not Erma Bombeck humor, so beware). I received a free copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
I would imagine if we grew up with stories of Hell like this book....more individuals would be clamoring to get in. Lol Reading this installment was like listening to an old friend tell a story. You never know what Gabe will get into that is the fun of reading this series. All the major players are back and they are becoming very independent of each other. We start to learn more about why our friends are in Hell. I mean honestly, life after Hell can be fun, sexy, and full of unnatural surprises according to this story. Which is why you should buy this book and bring some laughter and adventure into your reading life. When the next installment comes out I will be in line for my copy. Especially after the ending of this book.
Clowns from hell. Ingenious and horrifying all at once. Another great installment to the series, and I'm loving every second of it. C.G. Harris can't write these fast enough.
Artful Evil was a humourous trip through hell. The Judas Agency is home to many beings that are sent to the bowels of hell to live out a miserable existence for eternity. Most are hellions of sorts, causing as much misery and pain as possible, but a few have a soft spot for humanity and do their best to ease the suffering, both below and above ground. From demons to a killer clown posse, there's never a dull moment in The Nine.
This is the first book I have read from this author and I received an ARC from Voracious Readers Only and am leaving this 3.5 review on my own. As soon as I received the book, I realised that this was book three in a series. I was worried at first that reading this book out of order would make it less enjoyable, but I was pleasantly surprised that this book worked well as a standalone. I look forward to reading more from this author.
