This just like all JK books pushed so many buttons. Did I forget to tell you that I love button pushing. This had the daddy kink, the age play, a large age gap, spanking, dirty talk and so much more.
Alistar is Shelby’s landlord and when her family is about to get evicted her mom comes up with a plan. Shelby will exchange her body for a place for her family to stay. She is already obsessed with him and Alistar is none the wiser. What she doesn’t know is that she will lose her heart in this game of cat and mouse.
Alistar is a cold man and then he sees an Angel on the side of the road. He has to have her. He needs her body and doesn’t know that when she finally kissed him he will be begging for a chance at her heart.
This broke my heart then mended it with the HEA. This was a truly awesome reread.

Okay when reading jessa you get a hit or a miss this one was in-between for me I didn't like it but I didnt hate it. I kinda wish the h wasn't this.. well idk what to say about h..
Only person I hated was the mom (yes she did say she regret it later)... yes instead of trying to figure out more ways to get money the mother ask her innocent pure like FUCKING PURE daughter Shelby to sleep with the Devil aka Alistair the landlord head guy. what type of mother does that to their own kid. And poor Shelby I swear idk if she was shelter or just to plain pure she is "okay" anything for her family. And when I tell you you'll shake your head say wtf and roll your eyes when you see how innocent she is with Alistair. I honestly was do I root for them? Do I not? Shes so naive. He so rough alpha male.. idk.. but I did like Alistair he did grow from what he was painted as. Shelby. Yeah no I find her way to shelter and childlike.

I'd have rated this a solid 3.5*, I haven't found anyone that does good smut like this author tbh BUT the fact that it was Shelby's MOTHER that came up with the plan is a heck no in my book!!!! Why didn't she go lay with a man for money if there was no other way? To actually send her virgin daughter off to be with a man they called the devil?? Nope!
Shelby was also incredibly naïve, she didn't know about sex or orgasms .......I'm still debating with myself if that was cute or dumb as hell.

3☆ Contemporary low-budget Beauty & the Beast à la Jessa Kane
This was sort of average as far as JK goes. I do wish she had a few more stories without the Daddy/lg thing, cuz it just gets old. Still, her smutovellas always entertain. She obviously had to do a dirty landlord one; there was a little bit of Beauty & the Beastiness to this. I felt like this H tried too hard to be the so-called 'devil.' The naive virgin sacrifice bit was typically OTT with a side of OTT. The exaggerated contrasts between the MCs are funny and the way they fall to pieces over each other is delightfully silly and smutastic. Ah, Jessa, what will we do without you??😭🙏
