Girls Weekend #1

Girls Weekend

Rate this book
A weekend with friends, fun in the sun, and huge, naked orcs. What could be better?

That’s what three suburban elves think when they book a trip to an orc nudist resort, well known for its libidinous residents and hedonistic parties. The plan is to sample the DTF locals and work on their tans, not catch feelings. Confident Ris is single and ready to mingle, insecure Lurielle is open to adventure, but has her reservations, and Silva...well, poor Silva was tricked into the trip in the first place. When Lurielle meets a syrupy-voiced gentleman who seems interested in more than just a weekend fling, she finds sticking to the plan is easier said than done. From a public bathhouse to a back alley pub, the trip has unintended consequences on the lives of the three work friends and the orcs they meet.

Can a weekend of no-strings sex actually end in love?

She’s always preferred beasts to boys, the macabre to the milquetoast, the unknown darkness in the shadows to the Chad next door. 5 Hitting the Sweet Spot Stars ⭐

A girl’s weekend like no other, one guaranteed to make you blush. How this author manages to make the elvish feel like real modern-day girls like you and I is remarkable. Three interwoven stories of sexual escapades at a nudist Orc commune was downright fun and naughty.

You’re never going to get to see this much uncovered cock anywhere at home! But I’m not going home without sampling the local goods, preferably buffet style.

These work colleagues embark on a weekend away. Although three very different personalities, Lurielle, Ris and Silva have one common goal. To dust off the cobwebs and enjoy the sizeable Orcs who willingly partake in the shenanigans with the tourists.

“You know, when you put it that way, I’m not sure I want to be spit-roasted all weekend either.”

“Of course you do,” Ris assured decisively. “We both do. That’s the point! The men around here are trash, dating is a punishment, and we want to get laid.

Yet away on this lustful retreat, some seriously sweet romances evolve. Believe me when I say that C.M Nascosta knows how to weave an interspecies tale that becomes so much more than a sexfest. Each character was unique and memorable, the male heroes, delectable and the sex scenes froth worthy. My love affair with this author has been sealed!!

BR with Cassandra and Niki!

Bit of a mixed bag.

I love that Lurielle is coming into her own no matter that her mom and ex made her not feel worthy because she wasn’t the ideal elvish body type. Khash loves every inch of her lush skin.

And Silva? It’s always the quiet ones you gotta look out for. Her kinky adventures with Tate are steamy AF!

And then there’s Ris who wanted nothing more than a good rutting. And she got exactly what she wanted from a handful of men. You gotta respect someone that knows what they want and goes and gets it.

Ugh! Lurielle frustrates me to no end. So many times she hurt Khash for no reason. Like you don’t look a gift horse in the mouth, girl! Thank God, he’s an actual adult and talks some sense into her.

And Silva! You were my girl! How could you do this to Tate?! You did exactly what he said you’d do. Don’t you remember the outcome? 🤦🏼‍♀️

Omg I adore Khash and his bull mastiff, especially that they’re both bossed around by a yippy yorkie.

If I loved this story as much as the MMC’s it would’ve been at least a 4.5 read. Unfortunately it was too many storylines and we didn’t get enough from each individual character and storyline that I didn’t feel enough of a connection. Plus Ris’ character was totally unnecessary.

My wife recommended this one for me. I think it was a cute story but it just wasn’t quite for me. But I think I can see why my wife enjoyed it.

BR with Cassandra and Debbie!!

*3.5 The MMCs were the best thing about this Stars.
One star of my rating alone was for Khash and Tate. Both were so sexy in such different ways, but I still wanted to gobble both of them right up!! Otherwise I was pretty upset the way things were left unfinished.

3 in 1 Elves on the hunt for...well...Orc cock, but also ultimately a forever love. 🤪🤣🤣

This is a story about 3 Elves going for a girls weekend at a Orc nudist colony, to let loose and partake of a buffet of Orc cock. To get the ol' juices flowing, knock out the cobwebs, and shed the ghosts of boyfriends past. But nothing ever goes the way you expect.

I really liked this. It's the story of three very different elves, Ris, Lurielle, and Silva with varying pressures and expectations put on them by their family and elvish society. A very snobbish and prejudiced society. I liked the juxtaposition of what each girl was feeling and looking for. I also liked how none of them ended up being how the others expected them to be that weekend.

Ris, who was the most outgoing and insistent on using the man meat and having a crazy sexcation, ended up with the least exciting weekend with just some empty hookups, leaving her feeling used and objectified herself.

Lurielle, the shy and self conscious one. Intent on just focusing on her own self growth and not looking for a man, ends up throwing her insecurities to the wind, and finding her amazing and hopefully forever Orc, Khash. God I loved Khash, and want one just like him!!

Then uptight, and always completely put together, prudish Silva. She ends up with the dangerous enigma Tate for a whirlwind yet deeply intimate sextastic weekend. With even a little FFM menage. All while the other girls are none the wiser. Her heart is so completely captured and enthralled she's ready to let go of the mantle her family has placed around her shoulders and chase after her happiness and freedom with Tate.

I hate that this ended on a HFN because I feel like it could have been an HEA with only a couple more chapters. So I don't know quite what the other books are gonna be filled with. I'm also a little worried as to when we might get the next installment since C.M. said it was supposed to be out in the summer of 2021 and it's still not here. I guess I liked that all 3 girls were in one book, instead of three separate books in the exact same timeline. That kinda gets stale by the 3rd or 4th book, but things are progressing differently now with the girls and I don't know how you keep it going with all three together.

I'm excited to see the next one.

Obsessed. I can't wait to read everything that this author is going to write.

Can't pick a favorite couple yet because both were SO good for various reasons.

I'm so excited to have found this author and I really do encourage you to give her a try because I think a lot of people would be pleasantly surprised by how heartfelt her stories are despite the different species 😂 and other "interesting" elements.

I enjoyed this cute orc-ish novella! It was sexy and light-hearted. Was it perfect? No. But it was a fun way to spend a few hours? Absolutely. The book switches between the three elf members of a girl gang as they headed to an orc nudist resort for some no-strings-attached fun. Between the three ladies, Ris, Silva, and Lurielle, I enjoyed Silva's plotline the most, although I think Lurielle's story was supposed the "central" romance because Silva's ends on a little bit of a cliffhanger!

What I liked:
- The writing was fun and easy to read. The author doesn't take her world too seriously, and it felt like "erotic fantasy romance lite" in the best way.
- Flawed and easy to root for/relate to characters. All the main characters were surprisingly nuanced for such a short page count; I appreciated the effort the author put into emotional heft.
- The sex scenes were great! Well-written, well-paced, I really enjoyed each and every one.
- The two (maybe three?) heroes we met were great. Kind, sexy, interesting, devoted, everything you want in an orc hero!

What I didn't like:
- Abrupt POV changes. The writing style almost felt like JR Ward's, taking you out of one scene and plunking the reader into another and backfilling the gaps. I didn't mind this at first, but by the end of the novella, it felt like I was only getting sips of each character when I really wanted gulps. Ward's style works so well because she writes 400+ page books so by the end, we have a complete picture and all the scene switches make sense, here it started to feel like literary whiplash.
- There was little-to-no world-building, which was great for getting right to the "good stuff" (emotional development, sexy times, romance); I was left scratching my head in parts. I could have used a little bit of an intro to the world to make sense of the power and social imbalances the heroines struggled with.
- Ris was almost a non-character. We barely spent any time with her, and even the brief glimpses we received weren't enough to invest me in her future story. The fourth elf who was supposed to go on the trip but bailed (I don't remember her name) just convoluted her plotline more. With a story as brief as it was, I wish she had less page time so we could spend more with Lurielle and her man. I am hopeful she will get her own HEA, I just don't think her page time in this book added much to the overall plot.

I've read A LOT of monster/alien/everything in-between romance, and I am excited to add C.M. Nascosta to my list of authors to anticipate! I am looking forward to seeing how she continues to develop her elf/orc romances and adds depth to the world she created.

This one was a fluffy yet spicy little number with cute characters and not a little angst. Just what I needed to get my mind off of *waves in the general direction of all of this*. I enjoyed the way the general rules of the world the characters are in were established throughout the book it was a nice way to set up the series without a huge upfront time investment.

That being said, I thought it ran a little long toward the end and the nicknames some of the characters used were really grating (lamby in particular made me want to yeet the book across the room every single time, not a practical feeling when reading on a phone).

3.5 rounded up.

I missed having a reading list that I didn't make for myself, so I decided to put Goodreads' recommendation algorithm to the test by reading 60 books from the recommendation tab, mostly from the horror genre and from the recs based on my "TikTok made me read it" shelf (I needed a few wild cards). This book was the first from that list and received and endorsement from a booksta friend. So far the algorithm gets a passing grade.

*3.5* Refreshingly cute, rom-com-ish in alternate universe with multi-species relationships. Categorized as urban erotica. I think I would have enjoyed this more if each couple had an individual book.

Favorite quote:

My panties are huge. They’re high-waisted, they cover my whole ass. They’re not sexy, they’re not these tiny little things you’ll want to take off with your teeth, but I’m not changing them for you. I’m not wearing thongs, I’m not wearing little hipsters. They’re my underwear, I have to wear them, not you....

Bold of you to assume that taking off giant panties with my teeth isn’t my fetish.

Lurielle and Khash were my favorite 💕

Quite enjoyed it. Not as explicit as the summary seems to imply. For three girls that have come to the orc nudist colony for the weekend to have lots of sex, there seems to be a fairly balanced smut/plot equivalent.

While interesting, there is no obvious obstacle to their romance and it all seems to tie up fairly quickly. That is why I subtracted one star because it could have been a lot more interesting story if we saw more of her family objecting to their union.

”one of his thick fingers traced over her nose, brushing her freckles. "I couldn't see these from way over there," he murmured, caressing the full apple of her cheek. His honeyed drawl was even sweeter with his warm breath on her face, and Lurielle held her breath, anticipating the moment his full lips met hers. "Pretty as a flower..."

This was a fun, quick read. Seeing the way this trio of friends all navigated being at a nudist resort was so much fun because they all have immensely different personalities.

And though I enjoyed all the characters, it felt like Lurielle and Silva got their happy ending, and then Ris was just there. Don’t get me wrong, I loved her character, but I wanted her to get her hea too!

I found this because of Morning Glory Milking Farm and I found it not a good. It almost feels like it could've been interesting because of the three separate plot lines, but they all felt a little half done. Plus, Nascota has a habit of telling the story out of chronological order, but then have the character think back to what we skipped and summarize. I cannot tell why and it was often pretty confusing. This was almost solidly enjoyable but not quite.

I'm on an Orc binge. I honestly didn't know that Orcs could be so sweet (Am I orc-ist? Maybe a little), but damn if this wasn't a super adorable, romantic read... I couldn't be more please that I scooped it up and I'm definitely read for the next book in the series. This is a bit uneven, with Lurielle's story line clearly being the best realized, but I appreciate that this attempted something we don't see all the time in a true romance. We have 3 different story lines, and while I didn't love all of them, I'm excited to see more from the author in this universe. She has a genuinely interesting imagination when it comes to paranormal settings

this was...fine. i think the story was spread too thin between 3 different characters, and the timeline of each chapter jumped around in a slightly confusing way. but it was fun, lighthearted, and a really creative concept! excited to read the sequel and see if that adds what i felt was missing from this one.

Stay tuned for a review—I’ve got to polish up my skills for this!

I’m back and it’s PUB DAY for this book! I’m so thankful CM Nascosta allowed me on her ARC readers team because WOW. I’ve done my best to formulate a coherent review to express my love and bring you over to the light that is Girls Weekend.

Have you ever had an orc for a book boyfriend? If your answer is no, me neither... until now.

Girls Weekend is a sexy, fun, and addictive romantic fantasy romp. It is told in multiple perspectives, following three elven co-workers on their weekend trip to an orc nudist camp. They plan for meaningless, fun orgasm time (at least a majority of them did) but they end up discovering much more than sex positions.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who’s even slightly interested in reading a steamy, fantasy romance about elves and orcs. And there are no ugly, LOTR orcs to be found in this book. These are gorgeous orcs— you can find @ilustrariane’s art of them on Tumblr. GORGEOUS!

I’ve been a fan of this author for a while. I subscribed to their Patreon to read more of their work 6 months ago, immediately after I read a story by them that I found on their Tumblr. Needless to say, I was very excited when I discovered they were publishing a book. As soon as ARC reader slots opened I applied, and I was lucky enough to be chosen for the group. I ended up reading this book as a Buddy read with a lovely group of ladies from the ARC team— @the_sleepynightowl @brina_reads @this.fox.reads & @jodireads (who ALL made posts today on IG that you should check out!). We blew through this read in 3 days, a full week ahead of time, because we really enjoyed it. So much so that we’ve even kept our group chat in anticipation of flailing over book 2 in this series this summer!

CM Nascosta created a fun, engaging, and easy read in this story. I found myself flying through pages and then sad when I reached the end. Fortunately for us, it’s part of a greater universe of stories set in Cambric Creek. It’s the exact kind of feel good, sexy novel I’d recommend to someone who’s been battling a reading slump and wants to get down with some steamy, non-human romance.

You’re thrown into the wiggle-worthy action almost right from the beginning with the three elf lady leads, Lurielle, Silva, and Ris, going on a weekend trip for an all you can eat BDO (big dick orc) buffet. We end up meeting two other MCs who are orc men at their weekend getaway, Tate and Khash. The connections that weave between the five of them and how they interact is damn lovely. Over the course of the book I found myself captivated by, and curious about, them all. I definitely have my favs—I related all too well to Silva and Lurielle who battle with self esteem, self image, perfectionism, societal pressures, and more. And I ended up with a big book crush on two of the characters. Tate, who is a very different, very sexy kind of Orc who managed to bring me over to the light of orc boyfriends. And Silva, who is the epitome of don’t judge a book by its cover and hot as hell and one hell of a sex experimenter.

And okay, leading away from that I have to admit I had another favorite—the SMUT. I’d be doing this story a service if I didn’t mention the forest fire level smut. These characters know how to get down—exploring a variety of sexual situations and desires with hints at even more in future books. I figuratively fanned myself MANY a time. Again, it ended up with me choosing an orc for my newest addition to my book boyfriend harem.

I am so glad these character’s stories aren’t over. The next book, Parties, can’t come soon enough for my tastes! This was a solid 5 star read and I’m officially an auto-read for this author. Bring me all the fantasy beings and monsters, CM, because I’m on board.

A few thoughts:

+ The characterization is really good. I really like when characters have nuanced, layered personalities that don’t smoothly fit into one box.

+ I loved Tate. He was such a good character and so interesting. I’m surprised that my opinion on him seems to be in the minority.

He has this cool, always-in-control exterior and you think you have a read on him, but then we see this wild, stormy Tate hidden below the surface. His characterization totally reminded me of Rhysand— don’t you think?? I also loved Khash. A liberal cowboy. Say no more.

+ I don't understand Riz. Throughout the book, she’s on this desperate mission to seek out meaningless sex “for the experience” of being wild and free, but she never seems like she's actually enjoying this process that no one is forcing her to experience in the first place.

+ Lurielle is too insecure. A character’s ENTIRE personality can’t be her stomach fat. Some of these books miss the point of body positivity so badly. A man is not going to fall in love WITH your fat and cellulite. He's going to fall in love with you (BECAUSE, PRESUMABLY, YOU’RE INTERESTING I HOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and your fat and cellulite will become a non-issue.

+ The writing is a little... unrefined. Oftentimes, it's a bit confusing— not because the story is complex, but because the writing lacks clarity. I understand what CMN is trying to do, but this needed another round of edits.

I was in the minority in not liking Morning Glory Milking Farm, but I like this one way better. If, like me, you didn’t get the MGMF hype, this one may be more your speed. It’s not perfect but who cares, I’m literally reading about Orc c*ck, it’s not that fucking deep.

So, I continue to read "monster romance" books recommended by romance author friends - this one is about three Elf girlfriends (living in contemporary society - only if contemporary society had all sorts of magical people/creatures in it) who decide to vacation at an Orc nudist resort (I kid you not). Every now and then I encounter a truly stand-out character I can't get enough of, and I found a character like that here - Tate (!!!) - read this for the mystery of Tate alone - an orc/Elf who also is some type of dangerous Fae (dying to know Tate's background) who is one of the most interesting fantasy creations/bad-boy love interests I've yet seen (just stellar work on this character). Let me stress that this is NOT YA - adults only for this one (there's some gratuitously out-there, consensual erotica in here). Anyway, I'm reading the sequel and Tate continues to absolutely fascinate me - what the heck IS he! Recommended for adult readers looking for an erotic escape with some really stand-out characters (and quite a bit of hilarious dialogue) #TeamTate

I really liked this story don’t get me wrong with the rating! But at some points I was getting a bit bored and wanted it to quickly change to the sexy bits and cute moments.

Still this monster romance novella was definitely enjoyable! We have 3 MCs (though it seems like we only have two because one of them doesn’t have a lot of story? idk) and they both go to have a very nice weekend at a nudist orc resort. Yup you heard right. And the orcs there are very horny and flirty so!

I’m definitely reading the next ones and any other book the author publishes. I’m intrigued about more monster romances you know me. This was a good start to a series!

BR with Debbie and Niki.

This was cute - I loved Khash and Tate but found following the three FMCs a bit distracting, especially when I just didn't like one of them.

I also did not anticipate thinking an orc was hot, but there you have it 🔥🙈. I really did. #Khash

Overall, I liked Morning Glory Milking Farm better though and whilst this didn't end in a cliffhanger, there's plenty left unfinished till the next book is out.

Three single elves—Ris, Silva and Lurielle—go on a long weekend girl’s trip to a nudist colony filled with horny orcs. Trust me, I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking WTF? And I know. I know it sounds completely bonkers—because it is!—but premise aside, this wasn’t terrible at all.

The writing is really imaginative, I enjoyed being immersed in the fascinating multi-species world CM Nacosta has created. For a girl’s trip, they don’t really spend a lot of time doing anything together, apart from meals. The story is told from all three girls’ POVs and how their individual weekends unfold. Ris just wants to get “spit roasted” by naked orc bros looking for a casual hook up, Lurielle has body image issues but meets a lovely orc gentleman named Khash, and Silva’s prim and proper facade is totally upended by Tate, a seductive mixed far/elf/orc. There is a decent amount of smut but it is well-written and doesn’t detract from the main storyline.

Girl’s Weekend is a prequel to Morning Glory Milking Farm (if I’m not mistaken), since Lurielle and her orc boyfriend Khash are side characters. IMO, this book was okay and still worth a read—it’s free on KU and less than 200 pages—but not as engaging or romantic as MGMF.

It’s a fun, adorable and smutty read of a girl’s weekend trip to a Nudist Orc Colony!!

Lurielle- a plus sized mc, a elf- fae- woman in STEM and that deserves all the love in the world. I genuinely loved the relationship between her and the giant lovable orc, Kash.

Silva- an elf- fae that takes too much thought into following her family’s traditions, but she is honestly the most adventurous of them all at the nudist colony. I love the way mixed creature, Tate calls her “little dove.”

Ris- another elf- fae. The one who planned the whole trip. The only one that was solely there to get dicked down by some orcs. Besides that, there really wasn’t much happening for her in this book.

There isn’t much angst; but I highly recommend to see the fun journey and relationships between the orcs and elf- faes.

There's something that bothers me about a group of girls taking someone from work to a nudist colony and not telling her about where they are actually going.

There's also a sexual fetish sense over other races that squicked me out.

I managed to include this book through my monthly reading TBR and it was a definately fantastic read.

It was also unusual love story with MC's being non human and a very different than I used to read, but I am happy that I made that choice. The book was literally georgeous and my favourite couple is definately Silva and Tate.

I am tempted to read book 2, but I've seen that there will be a third book, so I think that I will wait a little bit until the series is complete 😍.
