The couple: Aaron and Thea

Romance genre: genetic enhancement ("metahumans")/fated mates
Part of a series: No
Length: 199 pages

Plot: Thea (a model) is at the hospital one night doing community service, when a patient is brought in; she transports him to another part of the hospital, but then he comes fully to and grabs her, threateningly. Then he takes her in a closet and, well, takes her. She realizes that he's a "beast" - a person with genetic deviations/manipulations. When she goes to her job the next day, she realizes that the person in charge of the jewelry campaign she's supposed to model for is also a beast, and then walks in her guy, Aaron. There's several things going on: Aaron and Thea are now connected, like fated mates would be; Aaron is engaged to someone else; Thea was bought in an auction that most people (including her) don't know about to provide mates to these beasts - she was bought by the guy in charge of the campaign; the guy in charge of the campaign dies the night after Thea meets him. All the action continues from there.

Character development: Thea was kind of annoying, if I'm honest. But so was Aaron, so they were a match. He was not really forthcoming, especially with respect to his fiancé and what he was going to do about her. I'm not sure why he couldn't trust Thea with that information. And Thea was - I don't know how to describe her. A little abrasive maybe? I'm very interested in this world, though, and would like to see how it works with some other characters.

grammar/formatting: a couple of misspelled/missing words; one sentence I found unnecessary: "All gays are such drama queens in these situations!" I'm guessing that we're supposed to see the relationship between Thea and her best friend Bunny, and see that it's friendly banter, but it was difficult for me to see that on top of the stereotype of the outrageously gay best friend.

Would I read more from this author/in this series: Yes

So very good! ❤

OMGosh, OMGosh, OMGosh!!!! Each and every page... 😍😍😍

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel from the first page until the very last. It has been a very rare occurrence that I could just pick up a book and read it in one day; but, I was captivated by these characters and their amazing love story instantaneously.

Holy shiznet!!! What a gr8 story. This is not your typical shifter story, and not your typical fated mate story. But it is one gr8 read. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up

Couldn’t finish this one. The characters are actually kind of annoying to me. At the start the main female character Thea, is kind of spoiled, immature, and stupid. It annoyed me. I skimmed through to the end, and it didn’t get better. Aaron, hero, seems like he could be an okay character if he was better fleshed out, and grew up a little bit.

I couldn’t buy any connection between these two. I could see the author trying to create it. It just felt forced, and unbelievable.

I really wanted to like it. The synopsis is what pulled me in. It really isn’t quite what it appeared to be either. I truly tried.

The writing is very choppy. If this was a little smoother, I think it would actually benefit the story. Many people seemed to enjoy this story, but it was not for me. I will definitely not be picking up another book by this author.

I swear I read this book to the last page... and I am still confused.

My issues with this book come down to a few things:
1) Thea's character is a mess of contradictions, e.g., scared of a person's reaction but antagonizing the person to get that reaction OR b***hing abut being kept in the dark only to retreat when given the slightest bit of information. Like what? A strong female character, she was not.

2) There was no point to Bunny.

3) Aaron was dramatic for dramatic reasons

4) What in the actual cheese is going on? The plot of this book felt like an afterthought, and as a result, there was just too much of what little there was.

It was so tedious reading this that I am actually going on a reading hiatus for a while.

Interesting Read

I enjoyed the storyline it was very good and pulled readers in. Haven't read anything by this author before and I would look out for more. Only issue I had was the wording sometimes didn't flow and I felt I had to re-read parts to understand what was being explained or said. So probably needs going over for grammar errors but other than that it was good.
