Mortifying! How else would you describe living with an adopted two-hundred-pound fighting canine for months - only to discover there was a sentient male inside? A gorgeous male with a perfect body who would be only too happy to ‘ease’ your every need. Needs he is intimately acquainted with because he watched you take care of them yourself for three months!!
Willa When I was thrown into a cell with a humongous fighting canine with two-inch-long fangs I was terrified. WarDog had other ideas, though. He nudged my hand for cuddles, nuzzled my neck, and demanded kisses, so of course we became best buddies. After he shifted to his humanoid form, though, being buddies was the furthest thing from my mind. He’s handsome, passionate, and makes no secret of his attraction. Although we haven’t even had a conversation yet, he knows my secrets. Every. Single. One.
WarDog I ached to claim the beautiful brown-haired Earther from the moment I returned to my humanoid form. She’s compassionate, kind, and tender. Not only do I need to conquer the hurdle of our awkward beginning, there’s the little detail of my mortal enemy to deal with. He destroyed my village, killed my pack, and locked me in my canine form for a decade. Must I make a choice between exacting revenge and seizing love?
This has everything you’ve come to expect from bestselling author Alana Khan--action, fighting, revenge, and climaxes. We’re all in it for the climaxes, right?
If you like handsome heroic alien males and strong females who find their purpose, you’ll love "WarDog". This standalone book has no cheating, no cliff-hangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after. Warning: It contains graphic sex and violence.
This is the twelfth book in the alien abduction romance series, Galaxy Gladiators.
This series CAN be read as standalones, although it’s likely MORE FUN and ENJOYABLE to read them in order, as the books are full of that rich, delicious 'found-family trope' where people with nothing in common form connections that are stronger than blood.

Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. Willa is dreaming of a hot alien stranger but is he really a stranger? Wardog has been her constant companion through out this new discovery of her reality but when she finds he has two forms one Bayne the othe wardog what then? Both wish to mate with her, only Bayne is struggling to with his other half wardog. Is Willa prepared for all a Mate will bring. Turning from just run-aways gladiators to an army against their captors will vengeance be on their side or will loss? In order to win someone will have to give in. I just lovvve Bayne and wardog's banter back and forth. A great romance filled with adventure thrilling drama and hot as sin alien sexiest men with the woman that love then beastly hotness and all.
WarDog the best of two worlds. Willa abducted and thrown in a cell with others finds an unusual Source of comfort. The story was engaging and I couldn’t put it down.
DNF. Honestly I was bored and couldnt finish. I got half way through and called it quits. The beginning bit with the dream was way too long of a start. Why this huge sex scene in a romance off the top when you are not emotionally invested in anyone yet? Fell flat fast. I think the beginning bit could be really great if it was scaled back a lot, condensed. The whole first half of the book is one clique saying after another and was just really dead. The whole wardog idea was really cool and original though. So, if you are skipping around in this series, this might not be one you invest a lot of time in unless you are reading for the over arcing story.
I loved Wardog and Willa's story! I mean anyone would freak out if the dog that you have for the last 3 months is actually a guy... A very sexy guy wich Saw you doing a lot of things that you are very embarrassed about. It is a love story with a lot of action and a little of clousure in the big picture of the whole series. A great read.
I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review In this story we meet Bayne and Willa. Actually Bayne started out as WarDog, a huge canine who has attached himself to Willa. For three months WarDog is her constant companion until they attend a fight. One of the early bouts is between two massive dogs who, after the fight finishes, the winner shifts in to a humaniod form. WarDog is beside himself so Willa and her human companions go to the locker room and there find out that WarDog is also a shifter. He has been in canine form for ten years. Naturally some changes need to be made and as the story unfolds, we meet some old friends from previous books. The story is one of these that you just can't put down. It is full of friendships, a corrupt "person", betrayals, adjustments and heavy on adventure and emotion. Alana Khan will always produce an amazing story and I just wish I could give her a higher rating than a 5. I can't recommend this book highly enough.
Yes! This book is the end of a story arc! I have really enjoyed every story in the series and each set of protagonists was engaging BUT I’ll admit I was ready to turn the corner and here we have some resolution. Of course this isn’t the end of everything and there are still more characters with stories to be told but you could comfortably stop reading at the end of this book and I admit to being grateful for that.
The protagonists for this story are again deeply engaging, each coming to the story with their own serious mental trauma that needs to be addressed and the author does a great job writing them through their individual development and then through their relationship development. This story read with a sense of catharsis, of getting it out and moving forward. It left me with a sense of peace about the world the author has created for these characters - not just the leads for this story.
The story was dual POV, well written and edited, and emotionally deep whilst still being a fast-paced, steamy read. I received an advanced reader copy and this is my honest review.
After being kidnapped from earth, Willa finds herself locked in a cage with two huge gladiators. A vet tech, Willa is initially uneasy when a large, intimidating dog is shoved into their cage. She quickly bonds with the animal and calls him WarDog. Over the next three months, he becomes her primary companion and confidant in the new world into which she has been thrust. After discovering that Wardog is a sentient being, Willa has to work through her sense of embarrassment regarding all of the personal details she has shared with him. WarDog/Bayne has two truths: Willa is his and revenge must be obtained against the cartel. A riveting storyline with descriptive scenes. WarDog held my attention as I cringed, cheered, held my breath and ultimately fell in love with the hero and heroine. A must read.
I was super surprised by the change in WarDog. How did I not see this coming before? I am usually good at predicting in books. It was a nice change to really be taken off guard in a good way. This was really an enjoyable installment of the series with action, love, surprises, discovery, revenge, dreams that literally come true, and more. I can't wait for the next book. I feel like I've been looking forward to their story forever..
Another gem in a great series! It is hilarious and romantic. You can read it as a standalone, but I recommend that you devour all of the books for the joy of reading them. It will be worth your while.
I loved this book! Wardog and Bayne are devoted to Willa. She bonded to Wardog but was mortified to find out he had a humanoid form too. Awkward! But, she gives him space that she needed as well for them to reunite and bond all over again. Great twist at the end! Looking forward to the next release!
I so probably should have read the other books first so i would have know who all yhe other characters are. But i absolutely love this premise! Wardog is so cute!
This story has it all: a villain, everyone will love to hate; a spunky heroine who takes matters into her own hand when the hero pulls back; a hero who can’t do enough for his mate; and a loveable 200 pound dog! The romance is endearing but the action and danger will keep you immersed in the book.
Another fun read by Alana Khan, but this time the main male character is kind of a 2 for 1. His love for Willa takes on 2 different forms. Though his memories are sometimes hazy. He knows he can trust her and that she cares about him. That is all he needs to know they are meant to be together. To learn more about Willa's relationships with Bayne/War Dog and how it turns out, you'll have to read the book because I won't give it away.
I absolutely loved wardog it was one of the best story's yet I couldn't put it down.there was exciting part in this book. You wanted to be in the book to comfort these characters and help them it was just the right erotica for this book it was very exciting to read. You should defiantly read this book.
So hard to put down! From Beast, I had a feeling there was more to WarDog. For an animal, he was too smart. This is a beautiful book of love, sadness, adventure and happily ever after. It was nice of Ms. Khan to take us back to planet Fairea, and discover there was more to the planet. Ms. Khan takes you to everywhere her characters go with descriptions, you feel like you are there. I loved this new book as much as her previous works.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Leave it up to Alana Khan to come up with a hero that’s a dog shifter alien. The plot was original and has a way of dragging you in. I read this book in one sitting. I could not put it down!
All the feels in this heart wrenching and heart warming book. Plenty of action and steam and romance so sweet. The characters are memorable and lovable and the hero is swoon worthy in many ways. I love this series and this was a fine addition. Definitely recommend.
He may be the canine, but I feel like a bitch in heat
A beautifully written story. It's a sci-fi with aliens of all shapes and sizes and a group of Earth women. All captured and waiting for an action. When they turn against their conquerors, they come out as winners and are finally free. Many a woman has found her mate on board. Not yet Willa, but she approves of Wardog's presence. Wardog looks like a Saint Bernard but 1.5x the size with fangs of at least 2 inches. She met him in the cell where she was deployed after she was kidnapped from Earth. After they capture the ship in which they were held captive, Wardog stays with her. On a visit to another planet, he turns out to be not the only one of his kind and then he discovers he's a shifter. In its human form it bears the name Bayne. Although Willa has kicked him out of her room after knowing Wardog is male too, she misses him. And Bayne and Wardog also miss her. No longer hiding their feelings, they become a couple. And then comes the news that the MarZan cartel is still hunting them, trying to re-capture them and sell them as slaves. They decide to change course and hunt one of the leaders; Daneur Khour. The man responsible for the slaughter of the village where Bayne lived, beheaded his mother and imprisoned him to fight to the death in many arenas. This is the chance to avenge his family ... until death. Bayne / Wardog's or Daneur Khour's.
A story full of excitement, love, steamy sex and new beginnings. In which the dialogues between Bayne and Wardog provide a laugh. Where a spin-off was born from the world of the Glalaxy Gladiatiors Alien Abduction Romance Series to Sanctuary, a storyline about the rescued people
I have received an ARC from the writer and post my review voluntarily. I look forward to new stories from Alana Khan
In the description it promises action, fighting, revenge and climaxes. And. It. Delivers! Willa has been with Wardog ever since she was kidnapped from Earth. While at an arena fight, they find out that Wardog is really a humanoid male (Skylosian) trapped in shifted form. Once shifted back, Bayne at first, doesn't remember much. But both him and his shifter form remember Willa. They're both drawn to each other from having spent so much time together, but Willa is embarrassed because while he was Wardog, she told him things. A lot of things. He also saw her, , ,do things. Everything!. So, out of shame, she ask him to move into his own room. It's not long before neither can control what they feel for each other. When Bayne does remember his past, it's a nightmare. Vengeance must be had! When your're tired of running, what do you do? Fight! This story is wonderfully written with amazing, sexy, and gut wrenching twist that you will not see coming! I really like how Bayne and Wardog interact. When they finally come to be at peace with each other, it's strong, raw and beautiful. This story left me very satisfied. HEA. Funny. Steamy. Page-turner. Unpredictable. Haunting. Action-packed. Wonderful characters. Great world building. It has everything it takes to make a great story.
OMG! Imagine ur childhood pet suddenly turned!!! OH H3LL NO!
I personally DO NOT consider this to be a STAND-ALONE read. The H/h are not original characters, but they interact with them and they all have a common enemy, Daneur Khour. Besides all of the reoccurring characters, there are concurrent / consecutive timelines and overarching themes that are built from the foundation laid by the first story (Zar). There are also a lot of details that occurred previously that would be lost, as they cannot be adequately explained within another story.
** In the series, there are multiple scenes, themes and references to subjects that will be difficult for sensitive readers. These include abduction, enslavement, forced mating, and trafficking. A high-level list is included below. **
— Although I try to watch it, if you have not read this (or the previous stories in the series), the following may contain spoilers. —
As you can tell, I ❤️❤️❤️ this series! The world building and characters are very well developed. Allowing for the seamless introduction of new locations (or revisit locations with a new perspective), themes and figures. All of which I believe is key to keeping the series interesting and engaging.
This story had my hooked as soon as I read the Blurb. What could my near constant childhood companion tell on me if they suddenly turned humanoid? Doesn’t matter that she was a 7 pound min-pin, she heard about all of my secrets, fears, hurts, (un)requited crushes, and she seen everything that happened to me. Then imagining what WarDog saw Willa doing after she dreamed of her Huntsman just added a whole new dimension …
I mention the following for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow. There are a few grammatical errors between the story and Who’s Who section, but nothing difficult to interpret. These include incorrect word tense, incorrect punctuation, and inconsistent data with Beast’s description. I uploaded my notes to goodreads for anyone interested.
⛔️ Series contains references to, or scenes detailing, subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including, but not limited to: adult language; derogatory terms; mental health challenges with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD, etc.; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, non-consensual multiple partners, forced mating, etc.; violence throughout typical of the alien abduction genre such as kidnapping / abduction, murder / death, torture, assault, rape, fighting, human (species) trafficking, enslavement, pain/kill collar, mental, physical and sexual abuse of adults and children, prostitution, coercion, etc.
Willa and Bayne are two of my favorite in the whole series! Willa was so shy when we met her a few books ago the only companion she wanted was the massive alien dog that befriended and guarded her in the slave cell she was thrown into. Even after her rescuer she struggled to find her place even though she grew to see the others aboard the ship as her family. Willa gets the shock of her life one she attends another of the gladiators fights. She's sees another canine like her beloved wardog and he wins his match his handler did something and the dog turned humanoid. She had no idea her beloved dog had two forms no one did. WarDog aka Bayne had lost home of to his knee beast after the decimation of his planet, people and his ultimate enslavement. The slavers locked him in his animal form. The minute he sees Willa he's drawn to her in his canine form, but when he changes he knows that she is the female for him his heart is already lost. But what do you do when you have the chance to defeat the evil that killed everything you once held dear? What do you do when you've found the other half of your soul and the love of your life? You need to read this great adventure to find out if a story of acceptance, retribution, closer and true love! You won't regret spending few hours reading this adventure. It will leave you wanting a WarDog of your very own💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
It's nice to have a shifter story thrown in here. It's always interesting to see how the relationship between the human and the animal go in shifter stories. These two are almost like two different beings.
I like the dilemma that the MFC has to deal with - adjusting her thinking about WarDog to include the MMC. She also had to move through the awkwardness of having told WarDog lots of personal stuff that they MMC now knows.
It's always hilarious to me that these guys can smell when a female is aroused. In true southern Belle style, when the MMC informs her of this, she says,
“You do not smell my need. That’s rude. It is not something we talk about in polite society.”
This one was a decent addition to the series but it wasn’t as emotionally driven as the other books. I liked the book but it wasn’t as descriptive, it didn’t pull me into the story like the other books in this series did. WarDog/Bayne had a horrible backstory as all the other gladiators did but you just didn’t feel the connection. I actually cried while reading some of the other books, I was an emotional reck reading them but this one not so much. Still a good book.
I truely enjoyed this to the max. The love is obvious. The complete characters all have hidden special sides. You'll have a tough time trying to avoid "back seat advice and comments" about their actions. I hope I can manage to wait for Stryker to come out without suffering from too high a frustration level. Never been patient waiting for a book to come out when the previous ones have been so wonderful. This is a super one to read especially if you are a dog lover.
This book was so good I read it straight through. And I never read Alana Khan books fast because I like to stretch out my pleasure of a good story as long as I can. I kind of figured that Willa’s pet was more than he appeared and I was right. But oh my goodness was this book good! I was totally not expecting that ending. I’m looking forward to reading about Sanctuary but I hope we get more stories about the Galaxy Gladiators as well. (I’m greedy like that).
This was probably my favorite books of the series. Wardog is an amazing male and i wished i had one just like him Just for me. Willa is perfect for him and what they go through together, makes this a perfect romance
It has it all humor, romance, danger, hot hot hot sensual moments and best of all an wonderful HEA. I highly recommend this book and this author to everyone who loves syfy romance. Be sure to pick up a copy, you will be so very very glad that you did.
Willa was abducted and put into a cell with WarDog (along with others). She instantly bonds with the big “dog”. WarDog eventually is able to shift back to his humanoid form, named Bayne. This causes a lot of stress and embarrassment for Willa. I loved how patient Bayne is and how understanding Willa is. They definitely complimented each other. A lot of unexpected turns and action.
I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed the story of Bayne better known as WarDog. As a dog, he was adorable. Shifting into a male, he remained adorable. The reader is drawn into his pass and roots for a happy future. Willa is likeable but definitely takes a back seat to Bayne. The ending ties up some lose ends from previous books. The biggest frayed knot was Khour. He finally got what he so richly deserved. 5☆'s and looking forward to the next book in this series!
